PHP - File Functions Hang When Asked To Read Url
I recently migrated from Windows XP to Windows 7, and a PHP package I depend on (mPDF, see http://www.mpdf1.com/mpdf) stopped working. When I call one of its necessary functions, it hangs.
I investigated further and found that the crash was happening in a call to file_get_contents, given one parameter, a URL that points to a CSS file. I found that the file_get_contents and file functions both crash when given a URL. Both work normally when given a pathname on the local file system. As I understand it, these functions are supposed to accept a URL if the INI directive allow_url_fopen is enabled. I checked by calling ini_get; it is. In any case, the php.net description of fopen says that if that directive is disabled, "PHP will emit a warning and the fopen call will fail" -- not just hang! It appears as if there is a glaring bug in one of PHP's core functions. I'm very skeptical that that is really the problem, but I don't know what else to suspect. Any ideas? My configuration is Windows 7 Professional with SP1; Apache 2.2.17; PHP 5.2.17. For reference, here is the script I used to investigate this problem. I stepped through it with a debugger, so I didn't bother displaying results. As shown, the script works. When I comment out the second assignment to $path it should produce identical results; instead it hangs. I am using PHP for web designing. On web server, i want to show the configuration data by reading the ini file. I am creating this ini file from one php code itself. If this php code i run through linux terminal, the file is created with file and group owner as root.(i am having sudo rights on machine) Then if i try to read the ini file from my apache web server, it gives warning as failed to open stream: permission denied. I have tried changing the owner, and permissions to 777 of the file. Still it is not readable.
On the other hand, if i run the php code of ini file creation through web server, ini file is created with file and group owner as apche. and web server is able to read/ write the file.
But i want to create that file from root or some other user and later read/written by apache.
How to give this access permission?
Hello. The title is a little confusing, but: What I am trying to do is build a simple CMS where all requests are routed through the root index.php file. This file will be where all constants are defined and importantly where the database connection is estabilished. There will be a folder where template files will reside and, based on the URI, a template file will be included into the root index.php file. My application can detect the visitors country if hes accessing the page from Europe so that is not a problem. I'm being told I have an undefined variable. Similar to sumUsagekWH (in the code below) there are other placeholders called sumUsageKHW, sumUsageWKWp, sumUsageWKWi and so on. Based on the code below, they are only used as a way to introduce totalUsage ( it looks silly the way it was done, but later the code will be expanded so it makes sense). What I mean is that totalUsage is being entered (in the below case) into sumUsageKWH from the $sumUsageKWH += $row[totalUsage]

Hi, I have a Excel File Reader script that works perfectly on my private development hosting, the Excel file is read and then the contents are displayed to the page with the help of a for loop. The trouble is when I try it out on my work's hosting space the script does nothing, no error messages or anything. I have not changed anything and all paths ect are correct. Before I upload the file I get the following errors
The uploaded file contains dates, time, blank fields, true and false and text. I will need to prevent sql injection and html entities like ampersand sign. I have an FLV player and I am using a php file to read an FLV that is above webroot. It reads the FLV just fine, however, during its cache process or while it is still downloading, if I click on the home button (home button of the current site), the server does not respond until the FLV has been fully cached. Now this is only occuring in firefox, chrome and IE. In safari it works fine. Who know, maybe it is a header issue. What i need Sir's is that i need to be able to insert the rows line by line.. if there are 4 rows, i need to insert them all in the database.. Please help me to fix the code.
