PHP - Call Php Script When A Link Is Clicked
Hello, I had a web page which had sharing (share issue on facebook, twitter....) and I want to record what each user had shared. So, they will click on alink to share it. I want to call a php function when the user click on a link, whats the best method to do this? Thanks in advance Similar TutorialsHello - I need a way to execute a stored procedure from a wordpress site with an external database where the stored procedure is housed. I am very limited in php code. All I know is from what little I have used My Custom Functions plugin. Please be very detailed. This stored procedure I run truncates and re-populates a number of tables I use for various reports. I am pulling data from the wp db and creating tables in the external db which make the data easier to read than through the wp meta data. The tables are housed in a separate db so as not to slow down the wp db. The hosting company does not allow 'Events' to run on the mySql db so I am left with figuring out how to create a cron job using a php file which would be the best. Aside from that, I thought a button on an admin page for execution would make it easier if I have to do it be hand. Thanks for your help. I have a "Members" page that displays my organizations members info via My SQL. Currently, the database displays "State" quick links at the top and has the members organized by State down the page. If you click on one of the State links at the top, it will navigate to the section of the page with that state and associated members. I want the members associated with a specific state to be displayed only once I click the associated state link -- instead of all of the information showing at once like it is now. The page I am referring to can be seen at this link: http://homesforhorse...rs.com/members/

User sees Team1 vs Team2 When he clicks "team2" it gets registered somewhere before he clicks "bet" wich inserts all his bets somewhere. I have a page that reads from a database to list employees from different states. Under each name is a link that pulls up a new window with a contact form. My goal is to get the name from that link to appear on that new window. (Which I will then use to ultimately add the name into the email that was generated so the recipient can know who the email was intended for.) I've tried using the GET and POST methods but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated greatly. I will name my firstborn after anything you desire. I've included my code below. (The last line is what I've been primarily working with) Code: [Select] //Open Database Connection $db = open_db_connection(); $sql = "SELECT DISTINCT 1 from users where active = 'Y' and show_on_contactus = 'Y'"; $results = mysql_query($sql, $db); $emaillink = "<a target='main' onclick=window.open('contactform/contactCentral.php?name=$state_row[state]','popup','width=380,height=400,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=yes,directories=no,location=no,menubar=yes,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false>"; if(!mysql_num_rows($results) == FALSE) while($row = mysql_fetch_array($results, MYSQL_BOTH)) { echo "<ul id=\"directors\">\n"; $state_sql = "SELECT * from users where active = 'Y' and show_on_contactus = 'Y' and state_full = 'indiana' order by last_name"; $state_results = mysql_query($state_sql, $db); if(!mysql_num_rows($results) == FALSE) { while($state_row = mysql_fetch_array($state_results, MYSQL_BOTH)) { echo "<li>\n"; echo " <div class=\"fl dirimg\">\n"; if($state_row[photo] == "") { echo "<img border=\"0\" width=\"61\" height=\"85\" src=\"images/exe_placeholder.jpg\" alt=\"$state_row[first_name] $state_row[last_name]\" />\n"; } else { echo "<img border=\"0\" width=\"61\" height=\"85\" src=\"n2team/pictures/$state_row[photo]\" alt=\"$state_row[firstname] $state_row[last_name]\" />\n"; } echo " </div>\n"; echo " <span class=\"fr\">$state_row[first_name] $state_row[last_name]<br />\n"; echo " $state_row[title]<br />\n"; echo " $state_row[city], $state_row[state]<br />\n"; echo " $emaillink Contact $state_row[first_name] </a></span></li>\n"; } I know with a submit button I can have a new record created when clicking it, but is it possible to do with a text link? Hi there, I've been tasked with the job of re-doing the company website from scratch and I'm having a bit of trouble with some of the logic involved as I'm not a web designer by trade. Or by any reasonable stretch of the imagination. Anywhoot, what I'm struggling with is this: I have laid out the website so for each of the core business units there is one php page, call it 'page x'. On page x there are two sections; a sidebar and a content section. At the top of page x there is a menu bar with a links to a different category (eg. services, products, about, contacts, etc). What I have at the moment for page x is an INCLUDE statement in each of the subsection which pulls through a html page and plops it down in the right place. What I am struggling with is how to use the links at the top of the page to pull through a different html page depending on what link I click. I was thinking that I could use something a couple of variables, $sidebar and $content, and then some kind of on-click function to pass a string to each of the variables and then use the INCLUDE statement to call the correct pages. What I have tentatively come up with is this : Code: [Select] <a href=#><img src="/MS_Images/service_hlight.jpg" width="100" height="42" onclick=$sidebar = "OutsourceIT_Website/Managed Services/services_side.html" /></a> and then: Code: [Select] <?php include $sidebar; ?> Would this work in principle? How do I go about making sure that the variable in the link is declared properly? Is there a better way to go about doing this that I am missing due to my ignorance? Hope someone can help because Uncle Google is getting fed up with my vague search terms. Hi, I'm not super fluent in PHP or whatnot, but I currently have a website set up with an index.php to load the content pages within it. As part of the template, it consists of a header image, links, a photo, and a video. The content of each page loads within the specified area below the "template". Here's my question: My client wants to see a specific picture when they click one of hte links. For example, if they clicked on spot removal, the image beside the navigation should show spot removal and stay there on the index page while the content page, spot removal is shown. Does this make sense? I need help and fast. Screenshot included in attachment. And like I said, I'm not super fluent in PHP/MYSQL, so be very detailed when talking about what to do. I'd appreciate the help. Thanks, How can I achieve the following scenario with an anchor tag? Code: [Select] if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { // execute script } I do need it for a label system to sort content with labels. I feel like a moron asking this question as it seems to be one of the most common things done with php but I cannot find a tutorial (probably because I don't know the correct wording to search under) on this specific thing.. Anyhow. I'm spitting out a list of the Titles of my test table like so (and its working as expected): <?php $posting_sql = "SELECT * FROM postings"; $posting_results = (mysqli_query($cxn, $posting_sql)) or die("Was not able to grab the Postings!"); while($posting_row = mysqli_fetch_array($posting_results)) { echo "<li><a href='posting_details.php'>$posting_row[title]</a></li>"; } ?> Now as you can see: <a href='posting_details.php'> I am calling a new page, and that page contains this: <h2><?php echo "$posting_row[title]"; ?></h2> <p><?php echo "$posting_row[description]"; ?></p> It's no surprise it's not working (with many variations etc), but I am only familiar with using <form> GET or POST, and these of course are not form elements, so I cant seem to call them the same way. My suspicion (and from the research data I could find) is that I need to pass values in my link: <a href='posting_details.php'> ... I could not get it to work, but I was trying variations like: <a href='posting_details.php?get[title&get[description]]'> but it seems like I am screwing things up even more by doing this.. Anyhow. If anyone could show me a tutorial that covers this specifically or some suggestions on the best approach to this would be much appreciated.. Hi, Is it possible to build a PHP Template page that selects and publishes a row of data from a MySQL Database when a linked is clicked? I would design: Template.php Text links (perhaps on homepage of navigation bar): ProductA, ProductB and ProductC If you click link ProductA Template.php would display data for ProductA and likewise for ProductB and ProductC. I would also like search engines for find ProductA, ProductB and ProductC PHP pages. (Not just my single Template.php) Any ideas as to how this could be done without designing individual PHP pages for each product? Kind regards, Matthew.

missed something I don't even know how to explain what I want to do as a subject. >.< Okay, so what I want to do is pull up all the entries in a table, (in this case "horse") for a specific location. Then, I want to pull all the results for that horse from the "result" table. Next, I want to compare each result from that table to a list of if/elseif for points. Finally, I want all the points gathered and totaled and displayed for that horse, and every other horse at that location, in a single page. Here is the coding that I have: Code: [Select] <? ---- connection information is here but removed ----- echo "<table> <tr><td><b>Name</b></td> <td><b>Points</b></td> <td><b>Title</b></td></tr>"; //finds horses at specific location $query = "SELECT * FROM horse WHERE location='DESIRED_LOCATION' ORDER BY name"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die (mysql_error()); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $id = $row['id']; $name = $row['name']; //gathers results based upon the above two pieces of information //the include is shown below as it contains the point info include('includes/points.php'); $query92 = "SELECT * FROM results WHERE MAIN_KEY='$id' OR MAIN_KEY = '$name'"; $result92 = mysql_query($query92) or die (mysql_error()); while($row92 = mysql_fetch_array($result92)) { $place = $row92['place']; echo "<tr><td>$name</td> <td>$points</td> <td>$title</td></tr>"; } } echo "</table>"; ?> and this is the points.php file: Code: [Select] <? if($place === '1st') {$points += 50;} elseif($place === '2nd') {$points += 45;} elseif($place === '3rd') {$points += 40;} elseif($place === '4th') {$points += 35;} elseif($place === '5th') {$points += 30;} elseif($place === '6th') {$points += 25;} elseif($place === '7th') {$points += 20;} elseif($place === '8th') {$points += 15;} elseif($place === '9th') {$points += 10;} elseif($place === '10th') {$points += 10;} elseif($place === 'CH') {$points += 50;} elseif($place === 'RCH') {$points += 40;} elseif($place === 'TT') {$points += 30;} elseif($place === 'T5') {$points += 30;} if($points < 500) {$title = "No Title";} elseif ($points >= 500 && $points < 1000) {$title = "Champion";} elseif ($points >= 1000 && $points < 2500) {$title = "Grand Champion";} elseif ($points >= 2500 && $points < 5000) {$title = "State Champion";} elseif ($points >= 5000 && $points < 8000) {$title = "National Champion";} elseif ($points >= 8000 && $points < 10000) {$title = "World Champion";} elseif ($points >= 10000) {$title = "Hall of Fame";} ?> I'm working with a lightbox plugin to show images when thumbnails are clicked on. The plugin works by wrapping the thumbnail in an anchor tag that has the href as the direct path to the full-size image. This acts as a non-js fallback, so that if JS isn't present for whatever reason, the user still sees the image. When JS is enabled, the image is shown in the lighbox, resized to fit in the lightbox, which is a variable size depending on the browser.
I need to keep a record of the number of times that the image has been clicked on, as thumbnails will be ordered by the number of views. The problem of course is that I'm directly linking to the image, so I can't put a script on this page.
I've tried two things instead, neither of which worked:
1) Instead setting the target as the path to the image, I set it to a PHP script, then outputted the image in an <img/> tag. The problem was that the image is then not resized according to the size of the lighbox. So this is no good.
2) I set the target of the lightbox as a PHP script which recorded the viewing of the image, and redirected to the image page. This didn't work either, as the lightbox showed the data for the image (text) instead of the image itself.
So, I've hit a bit of a barrier. I'm wondering if I can set something up in my PHP settings that will automatically call a script when hitting images, or maybe something in an .htaccess file that will do the same, but I'm not aware of if this can be done, nor how to do it, and I haven't found anything yet with my googling. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks.

This topic has been moved to Other Libraries and Frameworks. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=319682.0 OVERVIEW: The code is about making call to the escreen web service using SOAP and Curl with client authentication required. Currently I am not getting any result only HTTP 403 and 500 errors. The call requires client authenticate cert to be on the callng site. CODE: $content = "<TicketRequest> <Version>1.0</Version> <Mode>Test</Mode> <CommitAction></CommitAction> <PartnerInfo> <UserName>xxxxxxxxxx</UserName> <Password>xxxxxxxxxxx</Password> </ PartnerInfo> <RequestorOrderID></RequestorOrderID> <CustomerIdentification> <IPAddress></IPAddress> <ClientAccount>xxxxxxxxxx</ClientAccount> <ClientSubAccount>xxxxxxxxxx</ClientSubAccount> <InternalAccount></InternalAccount> <ElectronicClientID></ElectronicClientID> </CustomerIdentification> <TicketAction> <Type></Type> <Params> <Param> <ID>4646</ID> <Value></Value> </Param> </Params> </TicketAction> </TicketRequest>"; $wsdl = "https://services.escreen.com/SingleSignOnStage/SingleSignOn.asmx"; $headers = array( "Content-type: text/xml;charset=\"utf-8\"", "Accept: text/xml", "Cache-Control: no-cache", "Pragma: no-cache", // "SOAPAction: \"\"", "Content-length: ".strlen($content), ); $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $wsdl); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_VERBOSE, '1'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $content); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, '1'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, '1'); //curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array("Content-Type: text/xml")); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers); //curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array('SOAPAction: ""')); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CAPATH, '/home/pps/'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CAINFO, '/home/pps/authority.pem'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSLCERT, 'PROTPLUSSOL_SSO.pem'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSLCERTPASSWD, 'xxxxxxxxxxxx'); $output = curl_exec($ch); // Check if any error occured if(curl_errno($ch)) { echo 'Error no : '.curl_errno($ch).' Curl error: ' . curl_error($ch); } print_r($output); QUESTIONS: 1. I need to call the RequestTicket method and pass the XML string to it. I don't know how to do it here(pass the method name to call). 2. For client authentication they gave us three certs, one root cert, one intermediate cert and a client authentication cert PROTPLUSSOL_SSOpem(it was a .pfx file). Since we are on linux we converted them to pem . In curl calls I could not find way to how to include both the root cert and the intermediate cert ,so I combined them by making a new pem file and copying the intermediate cert and them the root cert and naming it authority.pem . I am not sure whether it works or not and would like your opinion. 3. For the current code Iam getting the error Error no : 77 Curl error: error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /home/pps/authority.pem CApath: /home/pps/ If I disable the curl error message,I am getting blank page with page title 403 - Forbidden. Access is denied. If I comment out the CURLOPT_CAPATH and CURLOPT_CAINFO lines it gives http 500 error page with the message as content and the following at the top. > HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error. Cache-Control: private Content-Type: text/html Server: Microsoft-IIS/7.5 X-AspNet-Version: 1.1.4322 X-Powered-By: ASP.NET Date: Thu, 02 Sep 2010 14:46:38 GMT Content-Length: 1208 If I comment out as above and also CURLOPT_SSLCERT and CURLOPT_SSLCERTPASSWD it gives 403 error with the message as content. So I would request you to help me out by pointing out whats wrong with the current code. Thank you. I can call the following function successfully as a single php program // Acknowledge and clear the orders function ack($client, $merchant, $id) { $docs = array('string' => $id); $params = array('merchant' => $merchant, 'documentIdentifierArray' => $docs); $result = $client->call('postDocumentDownloadAck', $params); return $result; } with $result = ack($t, $merchant,'2779540483'); successful output [documentDownloadAckProcessingStatus] => _SUCCESSFUL_ [documentID] => 2779540483 I'm trying to figure out how to call this function as an object from another program. Trying the following gives error ***Call to a member function call() on a non-object*** function postDocumentDownloadAck($t, $merchant, $id) { $this->error = null; $docs = array('string' => $this->id); $params = array('merchant' => $this->merchant, 'documentIdentifierArray' => $docs); ** I've tried the following which does nothing $result = $this->soap->call('postDocumentDownloadAck', $params); ** I've tried the following - which gives error "Call to a member function call() on a non-object" $result = $this->t->soap->call('postDocumentDownloadAck', $params); if($this->soap->fault) { $this->error = $result; return false; } return $result; } *** calling program snippet for above function $merchant= array( "merchant"=> $merchantid, "merchantName" => $merchantname, "email"=> $login, "password"=> $password); $t = new AmazonMerchantAPI($merchantid, $merchantname, $login, $password); $documentlist= $t->GetAllPendingDocumentInfo('_GET_ORDERS_DATA_'); $docid = $documentlist['MerchantDocumentInfo'][$i]['documentID']; $docs = array('string' => $docid); $ackorders = $t->postDocumentDownloadAck($t, $merchant,$docs); Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong are greatly appreciated. I would like it to list a bunch of music in a folder but the user dosent have accesses to except me. So the page he can view will list all the files in the other folder and has a downloadable link to it so he can download the files Thanks Dan in need of an external link counter script! please help cheers matt Seems to be a basic question, but I couldn't find an answer nor figure it out on my own. Basically I have a script that takes out specific data out of the database, the script works on its own, now I just need a way to make the user execute it with a link or a button. Example: Category: [Smileys] - [Category2] - [Category3] - etc. As soon as the user clicks on [Smileys] all data in the database which contains the word smileys in the category field gets selected and outputted as a list. Again the script works, I just need to be able to execute it with a button. If I understood it correctly I have to run the script by adding a if (isset($_POST['Smileys'])) { in front of the script. But how do I build the connection with the text link? This is my script I want to display but it does not show in the page just blank. <td><object width="220" height="148"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/user/THEWORLDOFTRAVEL#p/search/2/uX9nd3xM_MY=1&h1=enUS&color1=0x234900&color3=34900&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/user/THEWORLDOFTRAVEL#p/search/2/uX9nd3xM_MY=1&h1=enUS&color1=0x234900&color3=34900&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="220" height="148"></embed></object></td> |
