PHP - Mobile Website Redirect Function

Newbie question.

I have a form that uses reCaptcha. If the Captcha is entered correctly it posts the data.

Can I redirect the page using php or do I need to use javascript?

I was going to throw in header('Location: thankyou.php'); but from my limited understanding this cannot be used anywhere except the very top of the page.

I need to know if what I am doing will even work.

I have a .php page which submits information into a form to a insert_form.php page which then parses then information and adds it to a DB. In this insert_form.php page I have a function which is being called which is located in another .php file called function.php. This function adds images to the file system and will display errors if anything happens to the user. I do this by doing a header redirect:

The problem is the function is working because the images are being loaded correctly, but if something happens to the images and the header redirect gets initiated, its not redirecting.

I need to know if the header redirect would work when being a function in another file or not.

Hi everyone,
I'm building a website for a music band and want to
automate the adding of new album/disc so they wont have to
update a php file to print out .

I mean, a new album is release , then dump the mp3's, lyrics, cover pics
in their respective directory using naming convention
so my php read the directory structure and so one...

but my problem is the php function opendir read the filesystem...
is there a more secure way to do this ?
and I presume the web host wont let me do this...

I'm trying to crawl for links in a specific website and show them at the end. The problem i'm facing is that it only show the links from the specific page not the whole pages in the website. I tried several loops with no success please give some advise.

I'm writing a PHP script to pull information from another website which I don't own. That website uses javascript for pagination, splitting data across 3 pages. They also have a function to list all their data on one page but it requires clicking the link on the page which runs a javascript AJAX call. I want to pull all that data with PHP but how do I emulate the Javascript AJAX call in my code so I can get all that data instead of just the first page? Even if I could just call that function and then parse the information it returns to me. Thanks.

I'm trying to put together a script that redirects visitors based on their IP, user agent and/or referral url. Basically I want the script to scan these three factors from the visitor, if any of them turn out to match my redirect-requirement it redirects the user. I know the code is horribly coded, I'm incredibly new to the php-scene and consider myself a complete noob. As you can see I want redirected visitors to go to google.com and un-redirected to msn.com(examples). Really thankful for all the help I can get! Right now nothing works, any suggestions?

What is the best way to detect and serve the correct content...
1. htaccesss file to detect the devise and then serve...
2. config.php file to detect devise and then serve appropriate files?..

... im guessing it is version 2 that way you can still allow mobile users to access the full website....

I am trying to create a site that determines the device's screen size. Most mobile phone browsers does not have javascript, so to determine the width and height of the screen I cannot use Javascript. Does anyone know how i can test whether a mobile phone is used to visit the site and what that phone's screen resolution is, so that I can redirect it to the right folder.

If any of you have developed mobile apps before I could really use some advice, please. I have never made one, and would like to for my website. I just need to query my database and display the information. From what I have been able to put together so far, I know that I can use css and jquery fine. My main question is: can I use php to query the mysql database? Pretty much I am a novice, so if using these languages together will not work, please feel free to suggest combinations that would be better. Although, I am trying to avoid as much object oriented stuff as I can, because I just don't get it entirely, but I'll still take the suggestion. Thanks.

This is not really about php code...sorry. But i want some advice if you dont mind. I am working on a system, but i would like it to be available for PC use, aswell as for mobile use. What would be the best? To create two websites, one for mobile other for PC, and upload them to .mobi and .com domains, or should i create only one... I need this to be as user-friendly as possible...because the clients who are going to use this, is those ppl that is not comfortable with a PC, not to mention the web.
