PHP - Reservation Issue
Hello everyone, and thanks in advance for trying to help me.
I'm an IT student in Rotterdam, and I've got a little problem here. It's probably basic to most of you guys, but I've only been working with php for the past 3 months or so. I'm making a website for some company, and they want a reservation system. I've created everything so far, except for the fact that you can actually double book. Can you guys tell me how to make sure you can't book a reservation when that time is used by another reservation? Preferably even, when making the reservation, the reserved times aren't even chooseable. In my database I have the current info: table: reservations id (PK, UQ, A_I) date (date) starting time (time example: 09:00:00) ending time (time example: 10:00:00) ~Some other random information needed by that company~ Now it doesn't need to come to minutes or seconds, you can only reserve for whole hours, from and untill the hour. I made the script that puts everything in the database and everything, I just need a little script on how to check if the time on the date you selected earlier (it's like a step system, step 1 select date, step 2 select time, step 3 fill in other random info) is already reserved, and to make sure the reserved times don't appear into the dropdown menu for the times. I hope you guys can help me. Similar TutorialsHello, I am making an reservation script wich i cant seem to figure out how to get it too check that if 1 house is ordered in sertend time. that is doesnt double reserve it and after the period it can but it may book another house in the time the other is booked. Script Attached Greetz Knuckles Hi all I am building a website for a restaurant where the registered user can do booking in the booking page where user finds the booking form. my problem is I created the log in system but cannot workout with the booking page. I have this scenario - Customer visits site & registers details (name, email etc) on a "registration page" (creating a username & password which goes into your database) - done that Next day, customer visits site and logs in on a "log in page" using the username & password from the previous day which is now stored in your database. Can now make a booking based on this log in. (cannot do this) I posted about this a couple of days ago but I got things to almost work just need help with the coding. I barely know anything of php so really need the help if someone would be so kind. Here is the code and below I will post the problem. Code: [Select] <input type="text" class="tcal" value="" id="time" /> <img src="images/calendar_icon.png" width="21" height="16"></div> <div style="display:none"> <SELECT class="tcal" size="1" name="gg" id="gg"> <OPTION value="1">Jan</OPTION><OPTION value="2">Feb</OPTION><OPTION value="3">Mar</OPTION><OPTION value="4">Apr</OPTION><OPTION value="5">May</OPTION><OPTION value="6">Jun</OPTION><OPTION value="7">Jul</OPTION><OPTION value="8">Aug</OPTION><OPTION value="9">Sep</OPTION><OPTION value="10">Oct</OPTION><OPTION value="11">Nov</OPTION><OPTION value="12">Dec</OPTION> </SELECT> <SELECT class="tcal" size="1" name="mm" id="mm"> <OPTION value="1">1</OPTION><OPTION value="2">2</OPTION><OPTION value="3">3</OPTION><OPTION value="4">4</OPTION><OPTION value="5">5</OPTION><OPTION value="6">6</OPTION><OPTION value="7">7</OPTION><OPTION value="8">8</OPTION><OPTION value="9">9</OPTION><OPTION value="10">10</OPTION><OPTION value="11">11</OPTION><OPTION value="12">12</OPTION><OPTION value="13">13</OPTION><OPTION value="14">14</OPTION><OPTION value="15">15</OPTION><OPTION value="16">16</OPTION><OPTION value="17">17</OPTION><OPTION value="18">18</OPTION><OPTION value="19">19</OPTION><OPTION value="20">20</OPTION><OPTION value="21">21</OPTION><OPTION value="22">22</OPTION><OPTION value="23">23</OPTION><OPTION value="24">24</OPTION><OPTION value="25">25</OPTION><OPTION value="26">26</OPTION><OPTION value="27">27</OPTION><OPTION value="28">28</OPTION><OPTION value="29">29</OPTION><OPTION value="30">30</OPTION><OPTION value="31">31</OPTION> </SELECT> <SELECT class="tcal" size="1" name="aa" id="aa"> <OPTION value="2011">11</OPTION><OPTION value="2012">12</OPTION><OPTION value="2013">13</OPTION> </SELECT> </div> </td> </tr> </tbody></table></td> What happens is that it seems that the calendar and the select are separate things. It shows the calendar but when you choose the date is like if you didn't choose anything. I mean it shows up but when you click book the next page doesn't pick up the date you selected with the calendar. Hopefully that makes sense and someone can help. You can take a look at it he http://regencycountryclub.com/QuickReserve2.php hi, i am working on a project in school ( web based application ) that requires me to do the whole reservation pannel as in the website. i am trying to do something close to www.expedia.com ( on the left ). any ideas how to do it. i have done my database in php my admin and i use dreamweaver to create my forms as i connected my database to dreamweaver. any help how to do it on dreamweaver without using codes ?? appreciate any help. hello everybody, i would like to make a calendar that accepts only 5 reservations per day, thus i need to show how many empty slots are left for each day. When somebody picks a day then some info is filled up (and is written to database) and slot is decreased. I am not sure how to start for it.. I was thinking to put just a table in DB including the date. In printing dates function, when i print a date I make a query to the table on date field with sql count function in order to return how many reservations i have. What considers me is if I am doing it properly. because if i have about 200 reservations then 200 x 30 days x 12 months = 7200 queries. Of course if there is any similar script with what I am going to do i would be very pleased to hear about coz Im not going to reinvent the wheel. I have seen some open source scripts with colors and I was thinking to modify them in order to print slots left rather colors. Thank you in advance for any advice and recommendation. Hi Folks, I'm creating an equipment reservation system for a client. Every reservation has an equipmentID, ReservationDate, StartTime, EndTime. So, basically my script searches existing records for a given date and EquipmentID. I'm having trouble with how best to approach validation on new reservations to ensure there are no conflicts. Lets say two existing reservations for a given date/equipment are found. One reservation has a startTime of 8AM and endTime of 9AM. The second has a startTime of 12PM and endTime of 3PM. Is there a simple way to check if the user's submitted values for StartTime and EndTime conflict with existing reservations? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! -John Hi, I have this code below which groups all the SubHeading together and then queries the same table to find RiskConsequence which are grouped that match SubHeading then to query this table one more last time with all the Risk Mitigation that matches the grouped RiskConsequence. Problem I get is it does the SubHeading, the RiskConsequences it only does one of them not all of them before it moves onto the RiskMitigation. I know I have a php coding issue just cant see the wood from the tree's as the queries work. Code: [Select] <?php include ("include.php"); $query = "SELECT * FROM tblriskassessmentdatabank GROUP BY SubHeading"; $results = mysql_query($query) or die("Error: " . mysql_error()); while($row1 = mysql_fetch_array($results)){ echo'<a href="#" onClick="return(changeDisplay(';echo"'";echo($row1[SubHeading]);echo"'))";echo'">';echo($row1[SubHeading]);echo'</a><br /><br />'; echo'<div id="';echo($row1[SubHeading]); echo'" class="HideText">'; $risksub = $row1[SubHeading]; $query1 = "SELECT * FROM tblriskassessmentdatabank GROUP By RiskConsequence"; $results1 = mysql_query($query1) or die("Error: " . mysql_error()); while($row2 = mysql_fetch_array($results1)){ echo'<a href="#" onClick="return(changeDisplay(';echo"'";echo($row2[RiskConsequence]);echo"'))";echo'">';echo($row2[RiskConsequence]);echo'</a><br />'; echo'<div id="';echo($row2[RiskConsequence]); echo'" class="HideText">'; $risksub1 = $row2[RiskConsequence]; $query1 = "SELECT * FROM tblriskassessmentdatabank WHERE RiskConsequence = '$risksub1'"; $results1 = mysql_query($query1) or die("Error: " . mysql_error()); while($row3 = mysql_fetch_array($results1)){ echo'<input name="checkbox[]" type="checkbox" id="checkbox[]" value="';echo($row3[IssueNumber]);echo'" /> <label for="checkbox[]"></label>';echo($row3[RiskMitigation]);echo'<br /><br />'; } echo'</div>'; } echo'</div>'; } ?> Folks, I remember once having a php or html5 issue where the first option had to be blank in the drop down. Otherwise, it wasn't working. What wasn't working ? How wasn't working ? I can't remember. either php had difficulty reading user input or the drop down was not showing any options. And so, I had to add a blank value. So, something like this wasn't working ...
<label for="tos_agreement">Agree to TOS or not ?</label> <select name="tos_agreement" id="tos_agreement"> <option value="yes">Yes</option> <option value="no">No</option> </select>
And, I think I added a blank value, at somebody's advice, to get it to work. I think it was something like this, if I remember correctly:
<label for="tos_agreement">Agree to TOS or not ?</label> <select name="tos_agreement" id="tos_agreement"> <option value=" ">Select here</option> <option value="yes">Yes</option> <option value="no">No</option> </select>
Or, maybe it was something like this:
<label for="tos_agreement">Agree to TOS or not ?</label> <select name="tos_agreement" id="tos_agreement"> <option value=" "></option> <option value="yes">Yes</option> <option value="no">No</option> </select>
I can't remember. All I remember slightly that there was a blank value. I been going through my php files to find that particular file to jog my memory but I failed to find it. Can you folks explain to me if a blank value is required or not ? What is the benefit/disaster of adding it and how should the blank value be added ? Show me an example.
Was this a php or html 5 issue ? Can anybody fugure ?
Thank You I have a page showing a list of events from tournaments/leagues (http://www.americandartsdatabase.com/player-rankings/included-leagues-tournaments/) If you click on the CLICK HERE link, it should come up with a page that shows the stats for that particular event. Some events it works and some it does not. 11th Annual ABDA Nationals works fine North Side Dart League does not work Code: [Select] Below is the list of tournaments and leagues that are included in the rankings. Code: [Select] $qry = "SELECT to_char(LAST_DDL_TIME, 'MM/DD/YYYY') AS LASTUPDATED FROM all_objects WHERE owner = 'USER' AND object_name = 'TABLENAME'"; $go = oci_parse($conn, $qry); oci_execute($go); $result = oci_fetch_assoc($go) echo = $result['LASTUPDATED']; However when i run that identical query through PHP i get absolutely NOTHING. Any idea if perhaps PHP isnt capable of retreiving such data or if maybe i'm doing something wrong. Thanks! I have a script that saves a full size and a cropped version that is re-sized to 200x200. The full size saves just fine the cropped and re-sized version is all messed up. Code: [Select] $query = "SELECT Business_Name,First_Name,Last_Name,Username,Email,Phone,Mobile,Social_Media,Web_Site,User_Language,Admin_Level FROM customer WHERE Admin_Level ='Admi'"; try { //$this->dataObj->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION); $this->dataObj->setAttribute( PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_WARNING ); $sth = $this->dataObj->prepare($query); $stmt = $this->dataObj->query($query); $stmt->setFetchMode(); $result = $stmt->fetchAll(); } catch (PDOException $e) { $e->getMessage(); } return $result; } How can I make it say... if none of the values in the array = $is_assoicate then do stuff... Right now it adds an li every time a value is not in the array. I only want it to add in 1 LI Code: [Select] <?php foreach($users_associates as $is_associate) { if ($is_associate['user_id'] != $user_info['uid']) { ?> <li class="bass"> <a href="" title="Become Associates" id="becomeassoc" class="mll"> <span class="f_right">Become Associates</span><img src="../assets/img/becomeassoc.jpg" class="mrs vmiddle" alt="Become Associates" /> </a> </li> <?php } } ?> I have written the following PHP script. It is working ok but I having problem with the AM and PM issue here. My script cannot differentiate AM and PM. Please help me.. Thanks in Advance <?php $d=("1:01 AM"); if ($d < "2:00 PM") echo "Present"; elseif ($d > "2:00") echo "Late"; elseif ($d == "2:00") echo "Equal"; else echo "Have a nice day!"; ?> Hello all, I'm kind of a noob to PHP, and as such have been teaching myself the language. I'm attempting to insert tag attributes in divs, based on whether the site is viewed in IE or Firefox, to account for subtle differences in appearance. The problem, however, is that the variable $boxorlink apparently has the value "box" the second time I call the method, even though I explicitly state "other" as the parameter; the else clause is never reached. If anybody could tell me why this is happening, please let me know. My entire HTML code is below... <html> <head> <style type ="text/css"> html { background-image:url('denim.jpg'); } .wrapper { min-width:600px; width:600px; height:800px; position:fixed; } .headertext { font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; font-size:24pt; font-family:sans serif; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em #333 } .miniheadertext { font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; font-size:16pt; font-family:sans serif; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em #333 } div.transbox { width:750px; height:180px; margin:30px 50px; border-style:solid; border-color:#c0c0c0; background-color:#000000; /* for IE */ filter:alpha(opacity=30); /* CSS3 standard */ opacity:0.3; } div.currentpagelink { width:90px; height:22px; margin:30px 50px; background-color:#c0c0c0; font-color:#FFFFFF; font-weight:bold; font-size:14pt; font-family:sans serif; text-align:center; /* for IE */ filter:alpha(opacity=40); /* CSS3 standard */ opacity:0.4; } } div.otherpagelinks { width:100px; height:50px; font-size:14pt; font-family:sans-serif; } </style> <title> Marvin Serrano's Online Portfolio </title> <?php function checkBrowser($boxorlink, $left, $top, $displaceleft, $displacetop) { //new positions for Firefox $newleft = $left + $displaceleft; $newtop = $top + $displacetop; //positions for links... $newlinkleft = $left - $displaceleft; $newlinktop = $top - $displacetop; //checks for box on top or links; links have to be certain % from top. if ($boxorlink = 'box') { if (strpos($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'],'MSIE') !== FALSE) { echo('left:'.$left.'%'); } else { echo('left:'.$newleft.'%'); } } elseif ($boxorlink = 'other') { if (strpos($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'],'MSIE') !== FALSE) { echo('left:'.$left.'%;'.'top:'.$top.'%'); } else { echo('left:'.$newlinkleft.'%;'.'top:'.$newlinktop.'%'); } } } ?> </head> <div class="wrapper"> <div class ="transbox" style="position:absolute; <?php checkBrowser('box',19,0,9,0) ?>"> <div class ="headertext" style="position:absolute; left:30%; top:30%">MARVIN SERRANO</div> <div class ="miniheadertext" style="position:absolute; left:29%; top:55%">Live for today, dream for tomorrow.</div> </div> <div class ="currentpagelink" style="position:absolute; <?php checkBrowser('other',38.1,26.3,10.1,3) ?>"> Home </div> <div class="otherpagelinks"> </div> </div> </html> -Marvin Hi, I'm fairly new to OOP so please bare with me. I've been given to understand __construct is put forth in order to do that as soon as the object is created. Now I've created an object to control sessions. so here is my construct code includes a function within that object and session_start(). However, I get the error that the function within that object is non-existent but the function is right underneath the __construct function. should I put __construct last thing in my object? ANy help on this issue would be excellent! Thank you.
