PHP - Some Pages Show Results And Some Don't For The Same Code

When I retrieve a set of results > the defined # per page (such as entering 'WI' for last name), I see the first page correctly, and see the links to next pages, but when I go to the next page there are no results displayed. Same for p.3, etc. So I've looked around enough to know that I need to pass a variable to the subsequent pages, either via a session variable or the URL. I have 2 fields input on the form, as well as a limit and offset. My questions are 1) do I need to pass all 4 and if so then should I use a session variable so the URL does not get too long, and 2) can anyone provide any help with setting session variables and including them to be passed? I'm a newbie and have grabbed some code where I can but this is where i'm stuck. thanks in advance. This query is invisible, and is used to pull a count for all the results in total. I am modifying it with $Start to create a second query which the viewer sees. $queryF = $query . In this test code, I've simply echoed the $Start value of that page, to see if the code is working, and it's not changing. What's wrong with this code? The php code on member2.php works just fine when executed on its own page, so I don't really understand how this is happening. The problem I seem to be running into is that it only displats the first record. The page numbers show up page 1 page 3 page 2 and three are blank there is no mysql error or anything for some reason I only get that first result out of three Hello everyone, Very new to coding - enjoying it but struggling! I think I'm trying to do something pretty common but I seem to have come up against a complete wall now and after hours/days searching the internet and reading books I'm completely stuck! I'm trying to write some code to search a MySQL database of products, then display the results. For some search results there will be lots of products so I want to display 10 products on the first page then allow visitors to go to the next page to see another 10, and so on - a type of pagination, as they should then be able to click back to see the last page etc. I've got to the point of being able to display the first 10 search results, but I can't figure out at all how to create some kind of page scrolling/pagination system. Don't know how correctly to add limit: "limit $page1,5".

The main difficulty I am encountering is that when the browser changes pages, it forgets everything about current data. Perhaps I should include the display of pages inside the HTML form ? I made a index with all the months and when you click on a month you will get a full list of the type and quantity of aircraft that has been deliverd. I have two problems and I can't figure it out. The first problem I have, is that I want to show the visitors which airline has bougt which type of aircraft and how many. The second problem I have is a want to show them the total amount of deliveries, not just per type of aircraft, but a total number. Here are some shots of my problem and what I have: This is how my MYSQL-database lookes like. The columns I have a id, day, month, year, airline, aircraft, amount (just a simple translation of the Dutch words ). As you can see, there are some airlines that received one type of aircraft two times (TUI Travel PLC has received 2x Boeing 737-800). Keep this in mind, I will get back to this. This is the table on my website. The first column shows the type of aircraft. The secon column shows us how many of that type has been deliverd. In the last column I want to have all the airlines that has received that type of aircraft. As I mentioned above, TUI Travel PLC has received 2x B737-800, so in the row of B737-800 I want to have TUI Travel PLC (2x). If the airline received more then 1 aircraft, I would like to have (.....x) (and the amount on the dots --> TUI example: 2 aircraft, so 2x). So you will get TUI Travel PLC (2x). I need to get a small function working for a site I need to build for a group of friends.
I was able to get a login page, and a way to add data to the data base.
Now I am stuck on the search and show results fuctionalities.
I have found tens of scripts on the internet, but most of them are outdated, or I cant get them to work, either it sends me back a blank page, does nothing or sends me to an error page
The GOAL
User Inputs text in a text box, clicks submit, the data in the text box is looked for in the second collumn of the DB, The information of the collumns 2 to 7 of the DB for the name search are displayed either on the same page or on a new page.
Is there any chance you could hel me with that, taken into account that I dont need the html part of the code, I only need help with the php part...

hi guys i am building a voting system for my gaming website people sign up for matches, and those will be played at 3-5 different maps people can vote for wich maps they want to play each player can choose 3 maps, also 3 x the same map now the results of that voting system are shown on the page like this There is 1 vote for Map 1 There are 5 votes for Map 2 There is 1 vote for Map 3 There are 2 votes for Map 7 There is 1 vote for Map 4 There is 1 vote for Map 5 There are 8 votes for Map 8 now i want to make a script that picks the maps that will be played, so only show the 3-5 best results in the example above it woud be 2 x map 8 and 1x map 2 but im not sure how to start on this the db table of the votes is built like this id matchid playerid mapid mapname 1 113 195 1 NukeTown 2 113 195 2 Grid 3 113 195 1 NukeTown 4 114 195 1 NukeTown 5 114 195 1 NukeTown any advice or thoughts on this? thanks Hi again PhpFreaks, yet again I got a problem regarding coding. For each person's name, I have a short bio that I want to show/hide by clicking on the person's name. I have a basic start, but I can't figure out how to show/hide them individually. When I click on someone's name, it shows/hides all of the bio's. I do have an individual ID for each person, and could use that somehow, but I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how to accomplish that. Any ideas?
