PHP - Quickest Backup Solution To Zip All Files And Folders
hi all
i am looking for the quickest way to zip all files and folder of a website i am currently using the followning. <?php $date = date("F-j-Y-g-ia"); if(exec("cd /home/isd/public_html/bk/files;tar -cvpzf backup-$date.tar /home/isd/public_html")) { echo "done"; } ?> This works but was just wondering if anyone can give me and insight on a better solution?? Thanks Similar TutorialsHi, I have coded a site, whereby users can log in, and depending on their group, view all files within their group directory: Code: [Select] if ($handle = opendir("storage/Admin/$group")) { while (false !== ($file = readdir($handle))) { if ($file != "." && $file != "..") { echo "$file
"; } } closedir($handle); } In this example, a user can click on their file, and it will let them download it, but if there is a folder (directory) in there, once clicked on, it will open a index of the directory. Is there a way instead, to let it open a custom page and list the files within it there? i have some questions on how folders and files permissions work. say i have users directories outside 'protected' as below.. Code: [Select] users -- usera -- docs -- userb -- docs protected i do not want user B who does not have the rights, to access anything in user A directories. also, i do not want any person to access the directories directory via url links. basically i just want users to be able to access their own directories, and no one else. how can it be done? thanks! Hi Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I'm totally stumped here and I know its a basic question but I'm very new to php and I need help :-) Basically all i would like to do is list the files and folders in the following directory alphabetically, I know i need to put them in an array etc but I don't know how and would really appreciate some help! So any help would be very gratefully received. Here's my code so far: <?php $sub = ($_GET['dir']); if (strstr($sub, "..")) {$sub = "";} $path = '../media/Documents'; $path = $path . "$sub"; $dh = opendir($path); $i=1; while (($file = readdir($dh)) !== false) { if(substr($file,0,1) != ".") { if (substr($file, -4, -3) =="."){ echo "$i. $file
"; }else{ echo "$i. $file
"; } $i++; } } closedir($dh); ?> Many thanks in advance! I'm pretty new to php and I'm furiously trying to get this code to list the folders/files alphabetically but to no avail! I'd really appreciate it if someone could take a look and guide me as to what to do, I'm pulling what little hair i have left out! I can currently see the folder contents but the order is all over the place. Thanks very much!!! -------------------------- <?php $sub = ($_GET['dir']); if (strstr($sub, "..")) {$sub = "";} $path = '../media/Movies'; $path = $path . "$sub"; $dh = opendir($path); $i=1; while (($file = readdir($dh)) !== false) { if(substr($file,0,1) != ".") { if (substr($file, -4, -3) =="."){ echo "$i. $file
"; }else{ echo "$i. $file
"; } $i++; } } closedir($dh); ?> -------------------------- Hey guys, I'm very new to PHP so I apologize for any stupid mistakes or if I'm a little slow understanding things. I have put together a small website and I wanted to use a PHP script to display a list of files and folders (and sub folders). Basically a ghetto equivalent of an FTP page so I can apply CSS and make things look a little pretty. I have the following code I found from Google that will display all of the files and folders, not perfect but it will work for now! However I can't seem to work out the syntax to make them a hyperlink. Any help would be appreciated! <?php function getDirectory( $path = '.', $level = 0 ){ $ignore = array( 'cgi-bin', '.', '..' ); // Directories to ignore when listing output. Many hosts // will deny PHP access to the cgi-bin. $dh = @opendir( $path ); // Open the directory to the handle $dh while( false !== ( $file = readdir( $dh ) ) ){ // Loop through the directory if( !in_array( $file, $ignore ) ){ // Check that this file is not to be ignored $spaces = str_repeat( ' ', ( $level * 4 ) ); // Just to add spacing to the list, to better // show the directory tree. if( is_dir( "$path/$file" ) ){ // Its a directory, so we need to keep reading down... echo "$spaces $file
"; getDirectory( "$path/$file", ($level+1) ); // Re-call this same function but on a new directory. // this is what makes function recursive. } else { echo "$spaces $file
"; // Just print out the filename } } } closedir( $dh ); // Close the directory handle } ?> hello, I have implemented a snippet that reads images in I create folders dynamically from admin and makes them see lightbox style .. the same works fine but it shows all images in all folders and not those relating to folder clicked .. The result you can see it he aires-restauro.org/beta/gallery2.php code: <?php $folder = opendir('gallery/'); echo "<gallery>"; while ($file = readdir($folder)) { if($file != '.' && $file != '..'){ echo "<album path='gallery/$file/' name='$file'>"; $subfolder="gallery/".$file."/"; $subfolderdir = opendir($subfolder); while ($subfile = readdir($subfolderdir)) { if($subfile != '.' && $subfile != '..'){ echo "$file"; } } echo "</album>"; } } echo "</gallery>"; ?> repeats the same directory as I would like to see that by clicking the directory do see the images of that directory sorry but I do not speak English well and I thank you in advance I came accross this code on YouTube and it works great for listing the content of a folder that the .php file is in. However, how can I alter this code to list files of all folders and sub-folders? I thought plugging in an asterik might work on the "$path =" line, but it didn't. Code: [Select] <?php $path = "."; $handle = opendir($path); while ($file = readdir($handle)) { echo $file . "
"; } closedir($handle); ?> This topic has been moved to MySQL Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=352495.0 I have been using curl and curl_multi, but it takes about 500ms between each query. I am sending for example https://www.apidomain.com/user=test&pass=test It then should return an output of successful or unsuccessful. How can I do this to run the url in a loop of 10 iterations, without curl, but with the speed of a millisecond or less? Thanks! I pass a variable (date) which contains the date in format of 03-02-2011 (m-d-Y) how could i quickly change that date format to show 02-MAR-2011 (d-M-Y) Is there a function that can quick do this? Hello all, I need to be able to create file backups on different types of servers running php (windows or linux). I was hoping that there was a good php class out there that would already handle this for me but I have not come across anything as of yet. I can do it perfectly fine in the linux environment but was hoping to find something that would work on a variety of servers running php. I was hoping that it would support php 4 for older sites. If anyone has any good resources for this please let me know. Thanks Hi This is a really basic question but i am trying to understand the process of uploading to amazon S3, I dont want to just download a pre-wriiten script that i dont understand whats happen. I am using the s3.php class require_once('S3.php'); $s3 = new S3('[EDITED]', '[EDITED]'); $ourFileName = "files/test.txt"; $ourFileHandle = fopen($ourFileName, 'r') or die("can't open file"); fclose($ourFileHandle); if ($s3->putObjectFile("files/test.txt", "mybucket", "test/test.txt", S3::ACL_PUBLIC_READ)) { echo "We successfully uploaded your file."; }else{ echo "Something went wrong while uploading your file... sorry."; } Ok so i am just doing this to figure it out, so i create a file and then upload to amazon s3 this works fine, where i am confused is when you backup all files and directories in a site, i dont want all the backup files in the root off my website i want them to automatically upload to amazon. So how does the process work? if i upload a file it works great but i am still upload a file form my server. How does amazon automatically grab files from my server and upload them. Anyone no any basic step by step tutorials i have googled loads but they are all massive pre written classes and stuff which i can get working, but looking for a basic example. Thanks I am using small script (with crone) to backup database every morning, zip and send me mail (with .sql/zip attached). But backup is not in UTF-8 format, so I get this: "Č" -> "C" "Š" -> "S" etc. I have tried various solution but nothing works. Also tried utf_encode() function, but then I get strange characters. Script looks like this: function backup_tables($host,$user,$pass,$name,$tables = '*',$date) { $link = mysql_connect($host,$user,$pass); mysql_select_db($name,$link); //ALL TABLES if($tables == '*') { $tables = array(); $result = mysql_query('SHOW TABLES'); while($row = mysql_fetch_row($result)) { $tables[] = $row[0]; } } else { $tables = is_array($tables) ? $tables : explode(',',$tables); } //GET DATA foreach($tables as $table) { $result = mysql_query('SELECT * FROM '.$table); $num_fields = mysql_num_fields($result); $return.= 'DROP TABLE IF EXISTS '.$table.';'; $row2 = mysql_fetch_row(mysql_query('SHOW CREATE TABLE '.$table)); $return.= "\n\n".$row2[1].";\n\n"; for ($i = 0; $i < $num_fields; $i++) { while($row = mysql_fetch_row($result)) { $return.= 'INSERT INTO '.$table.' VALUES('; for($j=0; $j<$num_fields; $j++) { $row[$j] = addslashes($row[$j]); $row[$j] = str_replace("\n","\\n",$row[$j]); if (isset($row[$j])) { $return.= '"'.$row[$j].'"' ; } else { $return.= '""'; } if ($j<($num_fields-1)) { $return.= ','; } } $return.= ");\n"; } } $return.="\n\n\n"; } //SAVE $handle = fopen('Backup-'.$date.'.sql','w+'); fwrite($handle,$return); fclose($handle); } Database Collation: utf8_binType: [/size]MyISAM [/size]How to save .sql file in proper UTF-8 Format?[/b][/size][/font] hi, im looking for a way to make a page that will backup my mysql when i click a button and i can save it locally on any machine i use. anybody able to help me out with what to search in google? thanks! I have been searching the web and I can't fond anyone that has working code for backing up database with PHP. Most of them have the notorious depreciated ereg_replace function. Does anyone know of a simple solution? I want it to backup all the tables in the database Ok. I managed to do something like this: I used CreateZipFile classs from php classes! Code: [Select] <?php include_once 'CreateZipFile.inc.php'; $createZip = new CreateZipFile; $createZip->zipDirectory('binary', ''); $zipFileName = 'backup.zip'; $handle = fopen($zipFileName, 'wb'); $out = fwrite($handle, $createZip->getZippedFile()); fclose($handle); $createZip->forceDownload($zipFileName); @unlink($zipFileName); ?> but there is still one small issue. The archive doesn't contain any empty folders within the binary folder. I looked into this everywhere,but the code does not make sense, is not properly documented and is outdated. Ive been trying to achieve this for the past hour. Anybody know how I can do this? How would I go about using PHP to export all the data in my SQL database to a .sql file? Also how can I then import that .sql file back into the database? Thanks! Can we create a backup of database entered data in PHPMYADMIN? As you know if we are using locally any database through php then in case of system crash or the like our all the enterred saved data in the database will gonna be lost i want to know that is it possible to create a back up for our saved data in the database and if is it possible then how can we do it????
