PHP - Creating A Job Number Script.
I would like to create a Job Numbering system for all of my jobs.
Job number format : print-001232 I would like the job numbers to be sequential. So we will have a drop down list with three categories. which will form the first part of the job number. (print- ) and then I would like the 6 digits after it to be sequential starting from 000001. What is the best way of going about doing this? Similar TutorialsHey guys was wondering if anyone could modify the code below to have $output = 'yes' if the number of rows equal 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80......... etc $dbhost = '******'; $dbuser = ''******';'; $dbpass = ''******';'; $conn = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) or die ('MYSQL N/A - Please Contact Admin'); $dbname = ''******';'; mysql_select_db($dbname); $query="SELECT * FROM documentaryinfo"; $result=mysql_query($query); $num=mysql_numrows($result); mysql_close($conn); ?> Thanks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Watch Free Documentaries Online - The Documentary Database www.free-documentaries-online.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm getting the dreaded " Invalid parameter number: number of bound variables does not match number of tokens" error and I've looked at this for days. Here is what my table looks like:

Since the id is auto_increment, I do not put that in my sql (though I've tried that too), nor in my params (tried that too). What am I missing? I feel certain it is something small, but I have spent days checking commas, semi-colons and spelling. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? I'm attempting to praise(if that's how you say it) txt data into xml with php and have come across a problem I've been unable to solve over the past two days so I'm coming here to ask the php gods for their assistance. The file I'm prasing contains line after line of real estate data. I understand what I'm doing I think. I've gotten the data in a format that is more usable, taking out the tabs and replacing them with spaces and such. I am creating a series of if than statements which will select the address out of each line even though each line can be different. At the end of the address on each line there is a "S" character which stands for some property I'm not concerned with. I'm simply using the single 'S' to find the end of the address. The lines look like so: \/ 403089 RESIDENTIAL Residential 385000 7610 N Lakeshore Dr. Harbor Springs S 3 2 0 None 3 Litzenburger, Boo Schaffer Real Estate 399562 RESIDENTIAL Condominium 155000 4749 Pleasantview Road Harbor Springs S 2 2 0 One Hartwick, Bob Coldwell Banker Schmidt With a bunch of extra text following that I've trimmed off for our purposes here. See the 'S' after the town? I've created the following code to look for the 's' in relation to the word order. Code: [Select] <?php // Listings file $listings= file('listingsTest.txt'); $i = 0; $j = 0; $_ENV['a'] = 0; foreach($listings as $value) { //Replace all spaces of every kinds with single spaces $listings[$i] = preg_replace("'\s+'", ' ', $listings[$i]); //Put all characters into an array corisopndings to each line in $listings $_ENV['chars'.$i] = preg_split('//', $listings[$i]); //Place all words and uninterupted numbers and place in array $words $_ENV['words'.$i] = preg_split('/ /', $listings[$i]); $i++; } //echo $_ENV['chars'.'1']['1']; foreach($_ENV['words'.$_ENV['a']] as $char){ $countedf = preg_split('//', $_ENV['words'.$_ENV['a']][$j]); $counted = count($countedf) - 2; $wordBeforef = preg_split('//', $_ENV['words'.$_ENV['a']][$j-1]); $wordBefore = count($wordBeforef) - 2; $wordAfterf = preg_split('//', $_ENV['words'.$_ENV['a']][$j+1]); $wordAfter = count($wordAfterf) - 2; if( ($counted == 1) && ($wordAfter == 1) && (is_numeric($_ENV['words'.$_ENV['a']][$j+1])) //&& ($wordBefore == 1) //&& (!is_numeric($_ENV['words'.$_ENV['a']][$j])) //&& (is_numeric($_ENV['words'.$_ENV['a']][$j+2])) //&& ($_ENV['words'.$_ENV['a']][$j+3] == ' ' ) ){ echo '*'; echo $_ENV['words'.$_ENV['a']][$j]; echo '*'; $_ENV['a']++; $j =0; //$j=1 } //echo $_ENV['chars'.$_ENV['a']][$j]; $j++; } ?> As you can see from the if then statements, I've gotten to the point where It's replying to the 'S' at the end of the address thus telling me where the address ends. I am however having a problem I believe is a server issue. The code works fine when applied to 12 lines like the ones above, when I apply it to more of those lines it does not return the 'S' for them even if I used the exact same line more than 12 times. The main file which I'd like to automate the parsing of has thousands of these such lines in it. If I try to apply this code to the file with these thousands of lines, the browser returns a "The website encountered an error while retrieving http://localhost. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly". I take this to mean the server is doing too much work for it to be completed. I think when it reaches it's twelfth, the temporary memory of my program/server or some thing else, is exhausted. I'm applying these if then statements to every single word in the file. Is this a processing issue on the server? I was applying this code to every character in the file and thought I could fix the problem by applying instead to every word given there are less words than characters. I have the processing time on the server set to 10000 and it's not taking along time to return the error message. I would be very grateful to any help any of you could provide. Thank you for your time. How do I do this? Hi all. I work at a university library where I am the default web coding person. Although I know far more than anyone else who works here, my skills are not exactly at the guru level. At the moment I'm fighting with libcURL, trying to use a (secured) submission form to upload files from faculty to a remote server. (Of course, I had one that worked which uploaded to a safe directory on our web server, but that was deemed insufficient. ) I have managed to connect to the FTP server with cURL, and I have managed to create files on that server which have the same name as the files uploaded in the form. However, for some reason that escapes me, the files created on the FTP server are empty files. The server is using Server 2003 and IIS 6, and I am able to successfully upload to it using Filezilla, so I suspect the problem is with my code. I have searched Google for help with this, but all I can get is examples of how to upload which are the same as the one I already have, and how to delete a file using cURL, which is not what I want to do. The problem does seem to be somewhere in the file transfer process. die($_Files['syllabus']['size']); gives me the correct file size, and I tried moving the file onto the (local) webserver before transfering it via FTP, and the server one was fine--the FTPed version still showed up empty. If anybody has any idea what's going on, your help would be greatly appreciated. //the syllabus file from the form $syllabus=$_FILES['syllabus']['name']; //the syllabus as it will appear on the server (to make it a clickable link in the e-mail sent //to our processing librarian later in the script. Removing this did not fix the problem anyway.) $REMsyllabus = str_replace(' ', '-', $_FILES['syllabus']['name']); //formatted URL, with FTP information defined just before the syllabus and REMsyllabus files. $SYLremoteurl = "ftp://${ftpuser}:${ftppasswd}@${ftpserver}/${REMsyllabus}"; $ch = curl_init(); $fp = fopen($syllabus, 'r'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $SYLremoteurl); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_UPLOAD, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_INFILE, $fp); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_INFILESIZE, $_FILES['syllabus']['size']); curl_exec ($ch); $error_no = curl_errno($ch); curl_close ($ch); if ($error_no == 0) { $error = 'File uploaded succesfully.'; } //if else { $error = 'File upload error: '.$error_no; }//else } //if else { $error = 'No syllabus file selected.'; }//else This is pretty much the example code from the libcURL PHP section web page, so I'm not entirely sure why it doesn't work. I have the forms linking to a file called process.php. Basically i need to know what code to put in the php file in order for the forms to save whatever is entered in them to a txt file on my server or computer. Or any other easier way to do the same thing, save the content of two forms on my site. Hope i posted this in the right forum subject. Thanks very much for anyone that helps. Hello,
I have problem durring binding update query. I can't find what is causing problem.
public function Update(Entry $e) { try { $query = "update entry set string = $e->string,delimiter=$e->delimiter where entryid= $e->id"; $stmt = $this->db->mysqli->prepare($query); $stmt->bind_param('ssi',$e->string,$e->delimiter,$e->id); $stmt->close(); } catch(Exception $ex) { print 'Error: ' .$ex->getMessage(); } }When I run function update I'm getting next error:Warning: mysqli_stmt::bind_param(): Number of variables doesn't match number of parameters in prepared statement Can you help me to solve this problem ? Edited by danchi, 17 October 2014 - 10:25 AM. I need to display a number(the number is retrieved from the db) in the form input field such that only the last 4 digits is visbile, the remaining can be masked as * or X or whatever is applicable. I know the last 4 can be obtained as follows: Code: [Select] $number=substr($number,-4,4); But when i hit the submit button the form validates the input field and checks if the number is a valid number of a specific format. Therefore when I click on the submit button then I should still be able to unmask the masked numbers or do something similar that would help me validate the whole number. Code: [Select] <input type="text" name="no" value="<?php if(!empty($number)){ echo $number;} ?>"> I have a script that adds points together based upon the placing. This is the actual script: Code: [Select] <? $points = 0; if($place === '1st') {$points = $points + 50;} elseif($place === '2nd') {$points = $points + 45;} elseif($place === '3rd') {$points = $points + 40;} elseif($place === '4th') {$points = $points + 35;} elseif($place === '5th') {$points = $points + 30;} elseif($place === '6th') {$points = $points + 25;} elseif($place === '7th') {$points = $points + 20;} elseif($place === '8th') {$points = $points + 10;} elseif($place === '9th') {$points = $points + 10;} elseif($place === '10th') {$points = $points + 10;} elseif($place === 'CH') {$points = $points + 50;} elseif($place === 'RCH') {$points = $points + 40;} elseif($place === 'TT') {$points = $points + 30;} elseif($place === 'T5') {$points = $points + 30;} elseif($place === 'Champion') {$points = $points + 50;} elseif($place === 'Reserve Champion') {$points = $points + 40;} echo "Total HF Points: $points"; ?>What it *should* do (my friend's script works the same way and it works) it starts at points = 0, than if there is a first place, it adds 50, and so forth until it reaches the end. It is included into a file, in this area: Code: [Select] <div class="tabbertab"> <h2>Records</h2> <? $query92 = "SELECT * FROM THISTABLE WHERE VARIABLE='$id' OR VARIABLE = '$name' ORDER BY ABS(VARIABLE), VARIABLE"; $result92 = mysql_query($query92) or die (mysql_error()); echo "<table class='record'> <tr><th>Show</th> <th>Class</th> <th>Place</th></tr> "; while($row92 = mysql_fetch_array($result92)) { $class = $row92['class']; $place = $row92['place']; $entries = $row92['entries']; $race = $row92['show']; $purse = number_format($row92['purse'],2); echo "<tr><td>$race</td> <td>$class</td> <td>$place</td></tr>"; } ?> <tr><td colspan='3'><div align='right'><? include('includes/points.php'); ?></div></td></tr> </table> </div> This is the code that is relevant. When ended here, it echoes the last place that appears in the results (such as a 5th place echoing 30 points). When I move it to be included in the while loop, it shows Total Points: 50 Total Points: 25 Total Points: 10 (depending on the results displayed on that page). What am I doing wrong? Hey I have a string that looks like the following: Quote top-php-tutorials-2.html I have a script that cycles through each page. The 2 in the quote above is the page number. I tried for hours but I can't do the twice both My master.php script (with socket working): Code: [Select] <?php $command = "(/mnt/opt/www/called.php $_SERVER[REMOTE_ADDR] &) > /dev/null"; $result = exec($command); echo ("result = $result\r\n"); ?> and my called.php script Code: [Select] #!/mnt/opt/usr/bin/php-cli -q <?php $device = $_SERVER['argv'][1]; $port = "8080"; $fp = fsockopen($device, $port, $errno, $errstr, 5); fwrite($fp, "test"); fclose($fp); echo ("normal end of the called.php script"); ?> In the master script, if I use Code: [Select] $command = "(/mnt/opt/www/called.php $_SERVER[REMOTE_ADDR] &) > /dev/null"; the socket works, but I have nothing in $result (note also that I don't anderstand why the ( ... &) are needed!?) and if I use Code: [Select] $command = "/mnt/opt/www/called.php $_SERVER[REMOTE_ADDR]"; I have the correct text "normal end of the called.php script" in $result but the socket connection is not performed (no errors in php logs) Could you help me to find a way to let's work the two features correctly together? Thank you. hey guys im really just after a bit of help/information on 2 things (hope its in the right forum).
1. basically I'm wanting to make payments from one account to another online...like paypal does...im wondering what I would need to do to be able to do this if anyone can shine some light please?
2.as seen on google you type in a query in the search bar and it generates sentences/keywords from a database
example:
so if product "chair" was in the database
whilst typing "ch" it would show "chair" for a possible match
I know it would in tale sql & json but im after a good tutorial/script of some sort.
if anyone can help with some information/sites it would be much appreciated.
Thank you
