Hello Masters

I need to iterate through multiple $_POST[''] variables that have been submitted by a form, from the user, checking to see if they have been set or left unfilled.

Having a tough time finding a tutorial online...

I am a php noob... So I though that I would assign short variable names to the $_POST variables and put them into and array(with names for keys) , then use a for loop and isset() to echo any variable's key in which its value has not been set to the user.

I have found out that I can not use variables as array values....

What is the best way to do this?

Hi. First timer here.

I'm trying to iterate through 5 arrays in a foreach loop. Yep, I know you'll say just use a counter that increments. Sadly, that gives me horrendous results! So, I am using the next & current methods of arrays. Thing is, it gives me bad results ( items that weren't even chosen on the next page ), or it leaves the first couple of items out. I did this :

You will see I did all the processing under the CHECK if statement, the reason for this is, it is easier to identify the items ordered because they have been checked on the previous page.

Ok- I have seen it go both ways on this forum and I was wondering which is correct- or more secure.

I have a script that receives $_POST variables from a form. Which is better- to change the name of the $_POST variable to do script manipulations or to simple do them with the $_POST['whatever']

$whatever = $_POST['var_from_form'];

or simply utilize $_POST['var_from_form']

I know it would be less typing changing it to $whatever, but does it really matter?

And yes- register_globals is off.

I'm building a form using ajax that will allow users to add additional rows to their submissions. The problem however is getting PHP to recognize those variables. So that if the user submits 5 rows, it reads and creates a variable for all 5. I'm pretty sure that doing this will involve some form of while() processing and a total row count, but I'm unsure how to name the variables on the form end and how to receive those into PHP without the script erroring out.

Suggestions? I was thinking something along the lines of naming each variable something like "number_title" or as an example "5_title." Then using a while function to pull the data from $_POST[$number.'_title']; or something similar, but I'm unsure if that method would even work.

I have a php search page that takes form data to create its queries, then reload the original search page. The form is long, so there are numerous $_POST's to convert to variables for use in the query. I've looked at "extract" and a few other code snippets. But it's a form and I don't want any security issues. I'm hoping there's a "foreach" solution, but I'm a beginner. What's a proper way to to simplify this:

I'm trying to get back into PHP, but I'm running into some trouble. I'm creating a little script that scraps data from a page and then displays it elsewhere. (I'm actually going to insert it into a database, but for now, just trying to display it! There's two pages I'm scraping from.

This scrapes the list of players from one web page:

This does not work. I get Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in /my/path/names.php on line <three implode lines> and I get NO echos except for the break lines. HOWEVER, if I just use this code outside of a loop, i.e. I just do $html2 = file_get_contents("http://www.somesite.com/players.php?lookup=MyPlayerName"); it works perfectly.

I'm newb at coding, so I can't even figure out what data it is or is not getting in the iteration, and why it's not displaying/getting it when it's looped through each name as opposed to when it works perfectly when I input a single name in the file_get_contents. Can anyone see errors in how I'm going about this or suggest some checks to put in to help figure out what the heck is going wrong?

I have a form with radio buttons, depending on if a person selects yes, they will be given an answer after they hit submit.

I don't want to do a bunch if un-necessary coding, so I'm trying something else, but it's not working.

My form is this

Now, it does not show the wording associated with $key if the value is 1.

Can anybody help me out here? This form is going to have over 100 questions.

It helps me encode the stuff into the database.
It works great on all my fields exept my arrays ...

Ex: fields like this <input type="text" name="name[]" size="20"> breaks

Any sugestions on gething this global filter working?

I have 2 arrays and some values:

very simple and it works perfectly fine,
but if the variable $count is not equal to 0, i append both arrays(1 & 2) so that it will be equal to 0. (data appended is not important i just need them for the table output.)

i tried to view the code souce and both hidden fields contain correct data but if i tried to delete/edit it doesn't work.
i tried echoing/print_r the $_POST['branch'] & $_POST['id'] after i click on delete/edit and it always gives me the last $value and $key of the combined array for all the submit buttons..

Any thoughts?
As i said the appended data is not important but the problem is once i click delete the original values in array1 and 2 are not what post is giving me..therefore i cannot delete or edit them..
