Please, take a look to the following code.After clicking Next it goes to overview.php.Why when I click back on my browser to return to this page again, it is not returning back? When I click back I receive "Confirm Form Resubmission" message. After refreshing page it loads page.
I guess problem is in "session_start();" part. Something to do with cookies.
Please, help me it is very urgent for me.

Post Form Resubmits When Going Back In Browser History

Hello everyone,
I am having a problem since some time now and need some help.
I have created a login page where the user has to input a username and password to login.
The username will be put in a session and when the user logs out the session data and session itself gets destroyed.
However when I go back in the browser history to the page where I logged in I get the "famous" resend information dialog that asks you to resend the information from the login form. Which means that all the post data gets resend and the user logs in again without having to put in a username and password.

using a header to redirect to the login page is not going to work since I use my view_manager to display the pages.
Does anyone know of any solution to get rid of that stupid resend information dialog without using a header? I tryed unsetting the values of POST in my login code but that did not seem to work. Please help me out I've been looking for an answer for over 1 and a half week so far

Is there anyone who knows how to remove the POST data from a form when the user goes back in browser history?
If it's not possible, is there any solution except using a header?

I have found a point in my site where the user may wish to go back a page. Using the back button in the browser works perfectly fine. However, for aesthetical reasons and for "obvious function" reasons i need to create a button on the page which goes back a step in the browsers history.

I know I can do this with Javascript, but I would rather get it done with php first.

Therefore is it possible to create a back button in PHP. The back button in question will go back one step in the browsers history to the same .php it is currently on but in a previous state.

I found this from google, http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum88/870.htm, but then found there was some js in the answers.
I cannot find any other posts similar to this in php freaks

I have tried to create a back button, but I have not reached the correct solution.
I log into first page (index.php) and then you will get two new buttons that brings me to two different pages. Then I want to come back to the login page, the session is gone and I have to log in again. I want to remain logged in when I get to the index page and be able to see the two buttons. I tried different things such as:

I am getting strange behavior after a user submits a comment.

After they comment on an article, I display a success message with two buttons: "Return to Article" and "Go to Home Page"

Each button seems to work, and I was even able to "Return to Article" and then hit my browser's Back button to return the original "You Comment was Added" message, but if I hit the Back button after hitting "Go to Home Page" I got this error...

So, I just don't know where to post this question. I've written a quiz program where 50 English vocab words are pulled from a dB and displayed on one page with the order scrambled. My students then type the Spanish translation for each. When they submit the form the next page grades their work. They have to get a 90 or better for the grade to be automatically recorded, so I want them to click the back button and go back and make corrections. The problem is when they use a Chrome browser and click the back button the program re-sorts the order of questions. It leaves the order of their answers the same. So what they answered for number 1 is still in the field for number 1, but the questions (the English vocab word) is different. Chrome does this consistently so I thought this was a Chrome issue only. Then one of my students said the same thing happened to her when using Safari.

So here is my question, how can I stop Chrome (or any other browser) from re-running my server-side PHP scripts (re-sorting the vocab array) when clicking the back button?

Error After Echo On Back Button

Hey, I made a register page and its all working great.

I want to have a "Back" button when the user submits the form if password1 & password2 do not match or username allready exists. But trying to put one in after the echo command isn't working for me. Can anyone help?

Hey guys! I'm pretty new to php and starting work on a project, the first part I'm working on is a html page with text fields like this:

when the submit happens I want it to post to a php page, parse whatever is inside a set of <h2> tags and print it to to the php page, also the user selects four options from the dropdown box and I need to print the string contained in the selection to the next page as well, As I said I'm pretty new but here's what i threw together so far based on references I found, but it doesn't work correctly:

Datetime Loses An Hour

Hi all,
I have a loop that is modifying a DateTime object. It goes through X number of times and adds 1 day to the date time object and stores the modified object in an array. I use ->add(new DateInterval('P1D')); For some reason it is losing an hour each time that I add a day. I start out at 19:00 and each iteration through the loop adds a day, but loses an hour.
2010-09-19 19:00:00
2010-09-20 18:00:00
2010-09-21 17:00:00

I can correct for this by doing ->add(new DateInterval('P1DT1H'));, but adding 25 hours instead of 24 hours doesn't make any sense to me. I am using PHP Version 5.3.1.

Any ideas?

Hello,

I'd like to know if there is any alternatives for cookies,session and ip for user identification ?

As cookies aren't secure enough as they're easily compromised and untrustable.
As for session, I haven't seen a website that uses session for user identification while still being told to use in several "Login/Registration" tutorials, but aren't secure/trustworthy in my opinion as they're editable.

IP isn't the best idea because people use proxys and can change ip per page or interval. ( and VPN's )

User agents are editable by plugins and aren't unique as far as I know.

Are there any trustworthy information that can be retrived from the user ?
or combine a few into one ?
(except evercookie)

P.S. I am aware of OpenID, OAuth and social media authentication, but I am not interested in other websites identifying users for me.

Appericiate any input.

Hi,
I'm using the form data type 'date', and trying to verify it. It seems a little too complicated to check that it's in the correct format (with "/" between day/month/year), unless I use regular expression, which I don't know much about and seems feels like there's an alternate solution or it's not necessary. Currently, the script accepts DD*MM*YYYY, where * is any character, since it just strips the 3rd and 6th character and checks the day/month/year using checkdate().
I'm not even sure if this is a problem. I am giving the user a "verify" page, where I could put it in the correct format (DD/MM/YYYY), but is that enough?
Feel like I'm missing something here, so any feedback would be great

What I want to be able to do is for a user to be able to enter a youtube url eg:

I want the scrip to take the video ID (after watch?v=) and append it into a html embed code for our forums that do not have the feature to auto embed a youtube vid.
