PHP - Retrieving Full Data From A Mysql Database By Clicking On A Single Cell
The subject could be a bit vague, but my problem is simple. (I think so)
So I made a php test site that is quite similar to a forum. Where you see a title or a subject and when you click on it you will see more details about that subject. I made my database and script for inserting data into my mySQL database. I also did my output aswell, so every topic is posted on a webpage "archive" where you can see all the subjects. But now I want to see the full details of that type of subject by clicking on it. I have no idea how to make that happen googled it but didn't find any results...just wondering if it's even possible to do that. I'm a new guy here! Similar TutorialsI have a navigation list displaying which is a mix of html and php, everything is working fine however now I want to convert this block of code into a function but am having major problems with quotes. The line of code I currently have is $data = $db->query("SELECT * FROM menu")->fetchAll(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); foreach ($data as $row) { ?> <li><a href="<?php echo $row['url']; ?>" title="<?php echo $row['title']; ?>"><?php echo $row['icon'] . ' ' . $row['header']; ?></a></li> <?php } ?> As I say everything works using the above but now I am trying to echo the full li out and am having major issues with single and double quotes. I currently have echo "<li><a href='#' title='the title'><i class='fas fa-user site-nav--icon'></i> Help</a></li>"; Now I am trying to use the $row['url'], $row['title'], $row['icon'] & $row['header'] as per the top example but I cannot get the combination of quote marks correct, whether to use double, single or a combination. I would be grateful if someone could suggest the correct syntax for the a tag then I can work through the rest. Thanks I am working on a kind of CMS for my own website which no one else will be using but me as a way of improving my php skills, and am having problems with retrieving data from the database that holds both text and php code. I have searched the web and found that i should be using eval() for the code to be executed before it is send to the browser but cannot get it to work and can't find my mistake(s). the php code will always be the same, and is supposed to retrieve the id number of a page to use in a link (and works fine when tested by loading the code directly without retrieving it from the database) this is an example of data stored in the database Code: [Select] The <a href="page_builder.php?id=<?php echo $page->id('mines_DwarvenMines') ?>">Dwarven Mines</a> have a great selection of Ores,... Of course when I leave it like this, hovering over the link in my page will show exactly that and lead to nowhere Code: [Select] localhost/page_builder.php?id=<?php echo $page->id('mines_DwarvenMines') ?> Most of these links appear in tips given at the end of the page and are processed as followed Code: [Select] $questtips = $quest->getQuestTips(); $tips = ""; if ($questtips == "none") { $tips = "/"; } else { foreach($questtips as $tip) { $tips .= "<li>"; $tips .= $tip->getTip(); $tips .= "</li>"; } } and finally put on screen by the presentation layer as followed Code: [Select] <h2>Tips & Extra Info</h2> <div class="tipsList"> <ul> <?php echo $tips ?> </ul> </div> I have tried all sorts to get the code to be executed when retrieved from the database before being send to the browser so that this particular link would say "localhost/page_builder.php?id=57" but I cannot get it to work, though I suspect it is fairly easy. I suspect I would have to store the data in a different format in the database? And how exactly do I use the eval() function in my case? Could someone please adjust my code so that it does work? Thanks Hello, can someone help me with my proggraming problem please. Am new in this so i still have lots problems. I need to put all data from my MySQL table in one table in html. There is catch... i need to design output to give me table with x rows and 3 columns, so it means while reading data from database it need put every 4th in new row. And if there isnt 3 data (or better say if there isnt 3 full <td>) in row code will automatically add empty <td> or 2 in table. So...did somebody do this before or have some code ? All i got for now is Code: [Select] $td ='<td align="center"><img src="'.$row['name'].'.png" /> <p style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size:15px"> Number: <b style="font-size:40px;">'.$row['serial'].'</b></p> <br><img width="90" height="29" src="'.$logo.'"/></td>'; $tr ='<tr>'.$td.'</tr>'; $html='<table border="1" align="center">'.$tr.'</table>'; Thanks. Hi guys ..

I want to retrieve a Title (ing_title) from a database called k_db2 , in a table called content_langs
depending on its ID , which called ing_contID
example: if ing_contID=1 , then show the ing_title with this id ing_contID
the above code should be in a php file ..
then I want to include this php file inside the header of my website..
by importing the ing_contID from the database and depending on it the title should be shown..
I really tried but I couldn't find any solution ..

Basically i have a folder with 100+ images they are NOT all the same extension, what im wanting to do is use PHP to find all the images and put them all in a database. how would i go about doing this? thanks Hello, I want to export data from php-mysql to excel in a particular cell. 1. Get the data from php-Mysql and export data to excel sheet. I already create a template excel sheet format.I want to export data from mysql to a particular cell. Sorry I can't able to attach my template excel sheet. 2. Is it possible to export image? Thanks in advance Hello to all, I have problem figuring out how to properly display data fetched from MySQL database in a HTML table. In the below example I am using two while loops, where the second one is nested inside first one, that check two different expressions fetching data from tables found in a MySQL database. The second expression compares the two tables IDs and after their match it displays the email of the account holder in each column in the HTML table. The main problem is that the 'email' row is displayed properly while its while expression is not nested and alone(meaning the other data is omitted or commented out), but either nested or neighbored to the first while loop, it is displayed horizontally and the other data ('validity', 'valid_from', 'valid_to') is not displayed.'
Can someone help me on this, I guess the problem lies in the while loop? <thead> <tr> <th data-column-id="id" data-type="numeric">ID</th> <th data-column-id="email">Subscriber's Email</th> <th data-column-id="validity">Validity</th> <th data-column-id="valid_from">Valid From</th> <th data-column-id="valid_to">Valid To</th> </tr> </thead> Here is part of the PHP code:
<?php while($row = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { echo ' <tr> <td>'.$row["id"].'</td> '; while ($row1 = $stmt1->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { echo ' <td>'.$row1["email"].'</td> '; } if($row["validity"] == 1) { echo '<td>'.$row["validity"].' month</td>'; }else{ echo '<td>'.$row["validity"].' months</td>'; } echo ' <td>'.$row["valid_from"].'</td> <td>'.$row["valid_to"].'</td> </tr>'; } ?>
Thank you. Hey guys. I just recently started learning php and I like to learn hands on. So, my first project involves the Google Calendar. I found a script on github that is basically a Google calendar feed and I've been manipulating it to meet my personal needs and expectations, but the only thing I am struggling with is the xml part. All I want to do in this case is get the value from ###TITLE### (after it is sorted by newest date which is done automatically in the script) and store it in a new variable but no matter what I try or do and after reading a bunch of material on xml and php, I still cannot get it to work. If anyone knows how to do this and provide an explanation so I can actually learn I would really really appreciate it. Here is the github script https://github.com/m...ter/gcalphp.php
Thank you and I am looking forward to any suggestions or anything.

Currently I get the information from the database using normal php:
$result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM truffleProducts");Then I assign each field from the database to a php variable in a while loop: while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $id = $row{'id'}; $name = $row{'name'}; $price = $row{'Price_per_kg'}; $season = $row{'Season'}; $country = $row{'Country'}; $image = $row{'image'}; $review = $row{'review'}; }Then I just print each variable in a table using simple html and php. My problem is that it only outputs the latest element or row from my database. I want to output the database within a HTML template so that it is professional and tidy, but i cant figure out how to do that. Any help? Edited by louiscb, 22 October 2014 - 07:58 AM.
