PHP - Html Form Trouble, Weirding Me Out, Won't Take Audio, File Size Not The Prob...

I really like how Blob and Long blob handle pictures so I decided to try it with audio...I can get the file to upload fine but my problem using the file once its in the database...

This is kind of what I am doing.

Any ideas what I could be doing wrong ?

So I have .caf files that are recorded from my iOS applications and uploaded to my server.  Ultimately I want to play these recordings within my website using jPlayer (a jQuery plugin: http://www.jplayer.org), which means they need to be converted from the .caf format.  The encoding cannot be done on the mobile device, or so I am told, being that it is too processor intensive.  This leaves the webserver...

So far I've had very little luck finding any way to convert the file using PHP.  I assumed that it would be easy enough to use something like LAME to encode the caf into a mp3.  I've seen a few cryptic references to doing exactly this in my google searches, but no definitive information.

Can anybody shed some light on the situation?

As of now it results in every uploaded file returning the error "Max file size is 5MB."

I'll start by saying that I am a very novice php programmer. But I am working on a file storage website, and I have it working and running properly, what you see here is on a new page called index2.php (Thought you might need to know) and full working version can be found here, http://www.jstpreview.net84.net now want I want the site to do is automatically generate a new .php or .html page once the user presses the "submit" button, I've looked through many tutorials to figure this out but anything I have tried so far didn't work. So anyways, the page generated should be named the name of the file uploaded plus the extension. I also want this page to be generated using a pre-uploaded template but if you look at the code, you will see that I havn't implemented that part yet.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone can point out and fix the errors in this code, but it would be even more appreciated if someone could provide a working source code of auto-generation of pages on form submit.

When the user creates a contact, then edits the contact that final edited information is shown in a file called "my data.txt". After this, when I select my php file "save_contact_details.php" the details stored in the text file  "my data.txt" are not retrieved. How can I retrieve them? At the moment the issue I'm having is that I see no data when I click on  "save_contact_details.php" after I filled in all the contact persons information.

I really read a lot about forms and saw examples , but I can't figure out what's wrong. If you have any ideas..

I have an excel file that has several columns with different data and I need to create a form that can upload this excel file and insert the data from the columns into its conrresponding data columns in a mysql database. I know how to create the form but I have no idea how to get the file and tell it to input each cell of data into its corresponding field in the mysql database. Does anyone know how to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

Anyway, so I have an HTML form set up with a PHP document attached in order to send the data from the form to an email -a pretty basic setup by todays standards. 

In the PHP document, you can see that there is a section for the user (sender@xyz.com) to submit the information in the form to us & is sent to our email address "receiver@xyz.com". The bottom segment is to send a confirmation email back to the sender - to "sender@xyz.com" - as a thank you and a "We will get back to you ASAP" etc etc etc. 

The confirmation email sent to the sender@xyz.com works flawlessly when pressing the "Send Your Message" button, but then I just see "https://www.xyz.com/scripts/mail.php" in the address bar and no email is received by receiver@xyz.com - aka "Us".

i want to display the size of a file but i round it off to the nearest kb.

I am using...
($_FILES["file"]["size"]/1024/1024)."mb"

i am geting it return something like this....
1.0313243865967mb
and i want it to be more like
1.03mb

any idears???

What's the maximum file size I can upload through a regular form ? If it's server dependant, how do I find out my max ?

I tried to handle a 550MB file (on localhost) - I only wanted to show the filename, but it hung up for about 10secs, then returned nothing.

I need to check a file's size with php and ssh.  Everything I've seen online for remote files uses curl and port 80.  I'll be checking a LAN computer that isn't running a webserver, but is running an SSH server.

How can I do this?

but it didn't work.  I got a T_VARIAABLE error.  This was the same command I used right from the command line, and it worked.

I'll also need to add a check to the file size, and if it's less than 175K, send me an email...but I'll work on that after I have the first part working.

I have the following code which allows a user to enter a name for a mysql column field. Once they have submitted the form they are then redirected back to the form which allows them to enter the name for another mysql column form.

When they are returned to the form, I would like the new column field added to the file named userinfo.php

The problem is, I need the column field variable entered into the userinfo.php in the following format

$newcolumn = $info['newcolumn']

but when I put it like this

$stringData = "$newcolumn = $info['newcolumn']";

I get this error
