PHP - Passing Hidden Php Variable In Html Form
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong here? For some reason, the variable doess not seem to be getting passed to the "action" php script
this input is in my html form (action=post)... <input type="hidden" name="httpreferer" value="<?php echo $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'] ?>" /> this is in the action script... $httpreferer=$_POST['httpreferer']; echo $httpreferer; Similar TutorialsI have a menu that i want to be added to every page of my coding using a hidden variable, but i cannot get it to work. I using this with a few if conditions. the index page should navigate every page. can anyone help? I have attached the files to illustrate the coding i have done so far. [attachment deleted by admin] I have a php string variable that is created by php code within an html form ($answer). I need to pass this string variable along with all the html form input data to another php script specified with the form "action" (post method). All the html form input data is coming thru fine but not the variable ($answer). How do I do this? Here is the php code for importing html form data at the script called in the form action: $languages = $_POST['languages']; $answergiven = $_POST['answergiven']; $problemanswer = $_POST['$answer']; 'languages' and 'answergiven' are form inputs and come thru fine. '$answer' does not get passed to the second script. How do I do this? Here is the php code within the first html form <?php // OPEN DATABASE $username="servics3_sample"; $password="sample"; $database="servics3_sample"; mysql_connect(localhost,$username,$password); @mysql_select_db($database) or die( "Unable to select database"); // GENERATE RANDOM PROBLEM NUMBER $probnum = (rand ( 1 , 9 )); echo $probnum; // RETRIEVE ANTI-SPAM PROBLEM $query="SELECT * FROM liasantispam WHERE `problem number` LIKE '%$probnum%' "; $result=mysql_query($query) or die("Error: ". mysql_error(). " with query ". $query); $firstnum=mysql_result($result,0,"first number"); $operator=mysql_result($result,0,"operator"); $secondnum=mysql_result($result,0,"second number"); $answer=mysql_result($result,0,"answer"); echo $firstnum," ",$operator," ",$secondnum," = "; mysql_close(); ?> Here's my PHP form code: Code: [Select] <form method='POST' action="<?php basename($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']);?>" onSubmit="return stripInputBoxes(1)"> <?php echo "<div id = 'purchaseOrderRow1' style = 'display:none;border: 1px solid black;'>"; echo $integrityBuildingProductsPDF; echo '<input type = "hidden" id = "pdf1" value = "" name = "pdf1" />'; echo '<button name = "savePurchaseOrder" type = "submit">Save Purchase Order</button>'; echo "</div>"; ?> </form> Here's my Javascript: Code: [Select] function stripInputBoxes(pdfNumber) { if (!document.getElementsByTagName) return; for (i = 0; i < document.getElementById('tableBody').getElementsByTagName('tr').length - 3; i++) { document.getElementById(i).parentNode.innerHTML = document.getElementById(i).value; } document.getElementById("pdf" + pdfNumber).value = "ljkasdkljf"; return true; } Will this set the value of the hidden variable? I'm trying to echo the value of $_POST['pdf1'] but it comes out to nothing when the page reloads. How do I do this? What I'm trying to do here is display a purchase order on the screen and the user can edit the quantities in the purchase order. They click SAVE to save the new updated quantities and it auto generates a PDF that's saved on the server with those new quantities. The problem is I need to run the stripInputBoxes function to take the <input> tags out of the HTML code before creating the PDF because the PDF generator doesn't recognize the tags. <head> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="datetimepicker.js"> </script> </head> <form action="main.php?id=test.php" method="post"> <p>Start Date: <input name="start" id="start" type="text" size="10"> <a href="javascript:NewCal('start','ddmmyyyy')"><img src="cal.gif" width="16" height="16" border="0" alt="Pick a date"></a> End Date: <input name="end" id="end" type="text" size="10"> <a href="javascript:NewCal('end','ddmmyyyy')"><img src="cal.gif" width="16" height="16" border="0" alt="Pick a date"></a> <input name="submit" type="submit" value="Look Up"> </form> <?php if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { $start = $_POST['start']; $end = $_POST['end']; $sql = "SELECT * FROM `corps` WHERE `notedate` BETWEEN '$start' AND '$end'"; $results = mysql_query($sql) OR DIE(mysql_error()); $numrow = mysql_num_rows($results) ; $i = 0; While ($i < $numrow) $shownotes = mysql_result($results,$i,'notes'); echo $shownotes."<br>"; { Echo "Records found ".$i."<br>"; $i++; } } The $start, and $end don't seem to be getting any values I know this is 'old stuff', but I am new to this and very frustrated- I am trying to pass a variable to a new url via an html onclick event, and failing. I have found several posts about it but the code posted in those posts does not work when I try it. I have struggled mightly with this. Here is my code: first an echo of two versions of the onclick statement, and two versions of the actual button code. The echos from the two versions appear identical, but the first button with no variable works while the second using a variable results in no action. Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution? I suspect there is some simple principal I am missing relating to parsing strings. <?php echo "window.location.href='ManageTitles.php?dog=2'"; echo "\n" ; echo "window.location.href='ManageTitles.php?dog={$row_rsDogsowned['idDogInfo']}'"; ?> <form methd="POST" Name="form3" action="<?php echo $editFormAction; ?>"> <input type="button" value="works" onclick="window.location.href='ManageTitles.php?dog=2'" /> <input type=button onclick="window.location.href='ManageTitles.php?dog={$row_rsDogsowned['idDogInfo']}'" value="fails" /> </form I have a contact form in html with captcha image. The Captcha image is randomnly created using a php file and stored in a session variable. Ok here is what im trying to do: 1. drop down list pulled from mysql database.( working ) 2. after you select the name in the drop down list 3. Use selected name to another page. here is code Code: [Select] <?php include('include/db_connection.inc'); $table = "truck_master"; $result = mysql_query( "SELECT driver_name FROM $table" ); $options=""; while ($row=mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $driver_name=$row["driver_name"]; $options.="<OPTION VALUE=\"driver_name\">".$driver_name.'</option>'; } ?> <html> <head> </head> <body> <table align="center"> <form name="form1" method="GET" align="center" action="issue.php"> <tr> <td>Driver Name :</td> <td><SELECT name="driver_name"><OPTION VALUE=''>Choose<?php echo $options?></SELECT> </td> </tr> <tr> <td><input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit"> </td> </tr> </form> </table> </body> <html> Second Code IS Code: [Select] $driver = $_GET['driver_name']; So, I have a checkbox, like so: (uci is an ID number) <input type='checkbox' name='cars[]' value='".$row['uci']."' /> That is passed to the next page via the form. However I need to pass the id numbers again, through to a third and final page. Currently I'm trying to do it through hidden inputs, but all I get returned to me is the word, "Array". This is the second page, displaying the data it recieves from the checkbox on the first page and attempting to send it through to the third page via a hidden input. $ids = $_POST['cars']; ... Displays data here... ... <form action='step_3.php' method='POST'> <input type='hidden' name='cars' value='$ids' /> <input type='submit' name='submit' value='Final Step' /> </form> I also tried <input type='hidden' name='cars' value='".$_POST['cars']."' /> but that didn't work either. This is what I'm using to display the data on the final page, as a check to make sure it's working (this is where I'm just getting the word, "Array"): echo"Car Id's: ".$_POST['cars']."<br />"; So, I guess my question is how do I pass the multiple options checked on the first page through more than one page? It works fine displaying the data on the second page, however when I try to display it again on the third page via the hidden input, it doesn't work. Hi all Basically, I have a form which when done will calculate a quote for turf for given areas. Basically each time the user specifies an area it goes into an array, and they can add as many as they want, but the problem seems to be once submitted and it arrives back into the program, it isn't decoding so the multidimensional array is lost. What am I doing wrong here? Full code below, thanks in advance Ste Code: [Select] <?php // Framework // Get the sections $sections_array = base64_decode(unserialize($_POST['sections'])); // Build the rest of the array foreach ($sections_array as $section) { $sections[] = base64_decode(unserialize($section)); } // Set the initial unit $units = $_POST['units']; // Do the new add if ($_POST['a'] == 'add_section') { // Add the new measure if ((is_numeric($_POST['width'])) && (is_numeric($_POST['length']))) { $sections[] = array('length' => $_POST['length'], 'width' => $_POST['width']); } } // Build the output foreach ($sections as $section) { $output .= '<strong>'.$section['width'].' wide</strong> x <strong>'.$section['length'].' long</strong><br />'; $sections_array = base64_encode(serialize($section)); } ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <style type="text/css"> body,td,th { font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; } body { margin-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; } .wrap { text-align: center; height: 350px; width: 410px; padding: 0 10px; } </style> </head> <body> <div class="wrap"> <h2>Turf Calculator</h2> <p>To begin, enter the width and length of the first area of garden you wish to turf. Maybe this is not the correct approach, i don't know. My goal is to attribute a string of a field of the form to a string variable in order to use this string variable in order to "auto fill" the field of the form previously completed. This is to do what is apparently called a sticky form... First the program attributes the string of a field of the form to a string variable : $EmitterFirstName = $_POST["EmitterFirstName"]; Then in the html form there is a field called "EmitterFirstName", and i want to use the string variable $EmitterFirstName in order to auto fill the field with the string previously typed by the user : <input type="text" name="EmitterFirstName" value="<?php $EmitterFirstName ?>"/> But it doesn't work as expected. Do you have any idea why or maybe an advice on how to code such a thing ? Thanks, Code: [Select] <form action='test.php' method='post'> <input id="Username" type="hidden" name="date2" /> <input type="submit" name="action" value="Submit"></form> Hi I want to pass a Username javascript variable to test.php as hidden, anyone can help? Currently I have a dynamic table on one of my webpages, and the loop code looks like this:while ($i < $numRows) { $fname = mysql_result($result, $i, "fname"); $fcode = mysql_result($result, $i, "fcode"); $ftype = mysql_result($result, $i, "ftype"); $fdesc = mysql_result($result, $i, "fdesc"); ?> <tr> <td><a href="showfunction.php?fname=<?php echo "$fname"; ?>" target="_self"> <?php echo "$fname"; ?></a></td> <td> <?php echo "$fdesc"; ?> </td> <td><div align="center"> <?php echo "$ftype"; ?> </div></td> </tr> <?php $i++; } ?> what I would like to do is pass the ''fname'' variable to the "showfunction" page so it can printed from the database. Here is the relevant portion of the page:<body><div class="codeblock"> <div class="title">Code:<br /> </div><code><pre> <?php echo $fcode; ?> </pre></code></div> <br /><pre><hr /> </pre> I know that doesn't work, and I didn't expect it to because there is no way to 'get' the 'fname' variable from the preceeding script. I do not want to use the GET method with this because from what I understand, you can only use it with Forms. I really don't want to put controls in all of my table fields just to be able to pass the function name to the next page. Does that make sense? Thanks I'm an hour worth of searches into this. It's 2:30. I just want some nice person to give me the answer. I'm trying to pass a variable using href to another page. It works great if the variable is only one word. But it only passes the first word. There are multiple posts on this topic, but I can't seem to get any of those fixes to work for me. Here the code. Code: [Select] <?php $query = "select DISTINCT city from daily where open_bid>0 order by city ASC"; $result = mysql_query($query); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { $details=''; $details.='<li class="menu"><span class="name"><a href=list.php?city='.$row['city'].'>'.$row['city'].'</a>'; $details.='</li>'; echo($details); } ?> As you can imagine, some cities names are made up of two words. This is only passing the first word. Thanks for your help. |
