PHP - Login Check
Hi, I am trying to perform a login check and redirect the form to index.php if the username and password are correct. Also the login page check if the fields are entered or not.
The issue is that the login check is performing but not redirecting to index.php. Also I'm not getting any error after performing the login check. Let me know if I'm making any errors in below code. the include file only contains the database details. Code: [Select] <?php include("connections.php"); ?> <?php if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { $errors=array(); $required_fields=array('username', 'pass'); foreach($required_fields as $fields) { if(!isset($_POST[$fields]) || empty($_POST[$fields])) { $errors[]=$fields; } } if(empty($errors)) { $username=trim($_POST['username']); $password =trim($_POST['pass']); $query= "SELECT * FROM users WHERE username='{$username}' AND hashed_password='{$password}' "; $result=mysql_query($query); $result_set=mysql_fetch_array($result); if(mysql_num_rows($result_set) == 1) { header('location: index.php'); exit; } else { echo 'Invalid password'; } } } ?> Similar TutorialsHi everyone i wonder if you can help me he I need a script for a login and check login- create cookie. Here is my form: <form method="post" action="check_login.php"> <p> <input type="submit" name="Submit2" value="go" /> </fieldset> </p> </form> that sends it to check_login (which BEFORE i deleted something by accident, used to take me to a username and password box) But now all it does is send me straight to the memebrs area??? Can i change the check_login.php script to make it work correctly: Code: [Select] <?php // Connects to your Database mysql_connect("server", "user", "password") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("DB") or die(mysql_error()); //Checks if there is a login cookie if(isset($_COOKIE['ID_my_site'])) //if there is, it logs you in and directes you to the members page { $username = $_COOKIE['ID_my_site']; $pass = $_COOKIE['Key_my_site']; $check = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = '$username'")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { if ($pass != $info['upassword']) { } else { header("Location: members_area.php"); } } } //if the login form is submitted if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { // if form has been submitted // makes sure they filled it in if(!$_POST['username'] | !$_POST['upassword']) { die('You did not fill in a required field.'); } // checks it against the database if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $_POST['email'] = addslashes($_POST['email']); } $check = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = '".$_POST['username']."'")or die(mysql_error()); //Gives error if user dosen't exist $check2 = mysql_num_rows($check); if ($check2 == 0) { die('That user does not exist in our database. <a href=register.php>Click Here to Register</a>'); } while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { $_POST['upassword'] = stripslashes($_POST['upassword']); $info['upassword'] = stripslashes($info['upassword']); $_POST['upassword'] = md5($_POST['upassword']); //gives error if the password is wrong if ($_POST['upassword'] != $info['upassword']) { die('Incorrect password, please try again.'); } else { // if login is ok then we add a cookie $_POST['username'] = stripslashes($_POST['username']); $hour = time() + 3600; setcookie(ID_my_site, $_POST['username'], $hour); setcookie(Key_my_site, $_POST['upassword'], $hour); //then redirect them to the members area header("Location: members_area.php"); } } } else { // if they are not logged in ?> <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']?>" method="post"> <table width="316" height="120" border="0"> <tr><td colspan=2><h1>Login</h1></td></tr> <tr><td>Username:</td><td> <input type="text" name="username" maxlength="40"> </td></tr> <tr><td>Password:</td><td> <input type="password" name="upassword" maxlength="50"> </td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2" align="right"> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Login"> </td></tr> </table> </form> <?php } ?> Hi all I have the below login scripts which works great, I need to add a line in to give the user a message if the 'live' entry in the database is 0. I have a login and I want users to login before then can go to other pages. thanks guys, I want to limit the number of incorrect login attempts within a specified time period (e.g. 15 minutes). I'm wondering what I should tie those attempts to. e.g. If too many attempts from one ip address for a specific username, lock them out for 15 minutes? Or too many attempts from any ip address for a specific username? Or too many attempts for an ip address matched loosely (i.e. 255.255.255.0 matching) with a specific username? What's the best choice? Just too many attempts for a username? Or also use the ip address? And should I store the attempts in the session, or the DB? When I log in on my web-site it takes me to a php login-check page This is the error code that I am getting; Quote Warning: mysql_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in D:\xampp\htdocs\login-check.php on line 26 This is the php code that i am using; Code: [Select] <?php $host="localhost"; // Host name $username="root"; // Mysql username $password=""; // Mysql password $db_name="deliverpizza"; // Database name $tbl_name="customer, admin, staff"; // Table name // Connect to server and select databse. mysql_connect("$host", "$username", "$password")or die("cannot connect"); mysql_select_db("$db_name")or die("cannot select DB"); // username and password sent from form $myusername=$_POST['myusername']; $mypassword=$_POST['mypassword']; // To protect MySQL injection (more detail about MySQL injection) $myusername = stripslashes($myusername); $mypassword = stripslashes($mypassword); $myusername = mysql_real_escape_string($myusername); $mypassword = mysql_real_escape_string($mypassword); $sql="SELECT * FROM $tbl_name WHERE username='$myusername' and password='$mypassword'"; $result=mysql_query($sql); // Mysql_num_row is counting table row $count=mysql_num_rows($result); // If result matched $myusername and $mypassword, table row must be 1 row if($count==1){ // Register $myusername, $mypassword and redirect to file "login_success.php" session_register("myusername"); session_register("mypassword"); header("location:login_privelage.php"); } else { } ?> <?php session_start( ); include_once( dirname( __FILE__ )."/../inc/func/get_sth.php" ); include_once( _ABSPATH_."/inc/func/header.php" ); if ( $_GET["f"] == "login" ) { $adminuser = strtolower( strip_tags( trim( $_POST["adminuser"] ) ) ); $r_0 = strtolower( strip_tags( trim( $_SESSION["r"] ) ) ); $r_1 = strtolower( strip_tags( trim( $_POST["r"] ) ) ); if ( $r_0 == $r_1 ) { $result = mysql_query( "SELECT password FROM admin where adminuser='".$adminuser."'" ); $val = mysql_fetch_array( $result ); if ( !$val["password"] ) { $loginfail = 1; } else { if ( $val[password] === md5( $_POST["password"] ) ) { $_SESSION['admin'] = $adminuser; header( "Location: ./" ); exit( ); } $loginfail = 1; } } else { $loginfail = 2; } } $page_title = l( "Administration Login" )." | ".get_sitename( ); $smarty->assign( "page_title", $page_title ); $smarty->assign( "loginfail", $loginfail ); $smarty->display( "mgt/login.tpl" ); ?> Hi all... Hello guys, Is there on web any updated tutorial on how can I add Facebook login on my simple php login script? Hi guys. What I want to create is really complicated. Well I have a login system that works with post on an external website. I have my own website, but they do not give me access to the database for security reasons, therefore I have to use their login system to verify my users. What their website does is that it has a post, with username and password. The POST website is lets say "https://www.example.com/login". If login is achieved (i.e. username and password are correct), it will redirect me to "https://www.example.com/login/success" else it will redirect me to "https://www.example.com/login/retry". So I want a PHP script that will do that post, and then according to the redirected website address it will return me TRUE for success, FALSE for not successful login. Any idea?? Thanks How to add the ability to login with username or email for login?
<?php ob_start(); include('../header.php'); include_once("../db_connect.php"); session_start(); if(isset($_SESSION['user_id'])!="") { header("Location: ../dashboard"); } if (isset($_POST['login'])) { $email = mysqli_real_escape_string($conn, $_POST['email']); $password = mysqli_real_escape_string($conn, $_POST['password']); $result = mysqli_query($conn, "SELECT * FROM users WHERE email = '" . $email. "' and pass = '" . md5($password). "'"); if ($row = mysqli_fetch_array($result)) { $_SESSION['user_id'] = $row['uid']; $_SESSION['user_name'] = $row['user']; $_SESSION['user_email'] = $row['email']; header("Location: ../dashboard"); } else { $error_message = "Incorrect Email or Password!!!"; } } ?>

Hello their, I'm wanting to use PHP to check to see if a username and password match a remote RDP server. The reason I ask is because I want to verify that the information the user is giving is correct. I'm looking though LDAP but I have no idea what I'm looking for. To recap, I would like to login to a RDP server and return a result based on if it completed. Thank-you for reading Paul P.S Sorry for the bad English, I seemed to forgot how to spell some words and have had to replace them with longer sentences Hello, I have created a little voting script for my site. The insertion code into the MySQL databse when they vote is very simple: $ipaddress = addslashes($_POST['ipaddress']); $theid = addslashes($_POST['theid']); $gamert = addslashes($_POST['gamert']); $serveron = addslashes($_POST['serveron']); $db = mysql_connect("localhost", "username", "password"); mysql_select_db("thedb",$db); mysql_query ("INSERT INTO voting (theid,ipaddress,gamert,serveron2) VALUES ('$theid','$ipaddress','$gamert','$serveron') "); Obviously I only want them to be able to vote once. What is the best way to do a check of the IPs already in the database and check against theirs before submitting? Thanks. Suppose i have a table with around 10 entries in which one column contains the id and the second column contains a checkbox... If a checkbox a selected and the button (below the table) is pressed then i want to delete the columns corresponding the checked checkboxes.... I'm having a little problem creating a login using PHP. Looked at several tutorials and not having much luck. I've created a database in MySql called "member" with a username and password field just to test but don't appear to be getting as far as that. I'm also using XAMPP. So basically the PHP so far is five different pages. "config.inc" contains: <?php $hostname = 'localhost'; // Your MySQL hostname. Usualy named as 'localhost', so you're NOT necessary to change this even this script has already online on the internet. $dbname = 'member'; // Your database name. $username = 'root'; // Your database username. $password = ''; // Your database password. If your database has no password, leave it empty. // Let's connect to host mysql_connect($hostname, $username, $password) or DIE('Connection to host is failed, perhaps the service is down!'); // Select the database mysql_select_db($dbname) or DIE('Database name is not available!'); ?> "index.php" contains: <?php // Inialize session session_start(); // Check, if user is already login, then jump to secured page if (isset($_SESSION['username'])) { header('Location: securedpage.php'); } ?> <html> <head> <title>PHPMySimpleLogin 0.3</title> </head> <body> <h3>User Login</h3> <table border="0"> <form method="POST" action="loginproc.php"> <tr><td>Username</td><td>:</td><td><input type="text" name="username" size="20"></td></tr> <tr><td>Password</td><td>:</td><td><input type="password" name="password" size="20"></td></tr> <tr><td> </td><td> </td><td><input type="submit" value="Login"></td></tr> </form> </table> </body> </html> "loginproc.php" contains: <?php // Inialize session session_start(); // Include database connection settings include('config.inc'); // Retrieve username and password from database according to user's input $login = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM user WHERE (username = '" . mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['username']) . "') and (password = '" . mysql_real_escape_string(md5($_POST['password'])) .
