But rather than display the message in a div i would like a javascript alert box to pop up, i tried the following code:

but i get the same quantity number for every item in the cart, i had this error with the php update but i got round that by querying sql to give me the quantity of an item by the items id.
can the same thing be done in javascript / ajax?
$qty by the way is referenced earlier in the script to get information for the cart table to display items.

Hey folks. okay, I took over the admin of a website ( http://www.annualclownsdirectory.com ) a while back. I have changed nothing in the php but there seems to be a problem with account activation. As a total newbie with php (I can work out what things do by reading the code, and can notice obvious mistakes but thats about it...) I have NO idea what is going on here to stop it working. If I make a test account the email is sent to me with the link to click on to activate the account, which looks like this: " http://www.annualclownsdirectory.com/confirm.php?id=330&hash=c6efb8f1d00beef170bd0df223ab87f1 " but when clicked the website throws up this: "Sorry, either this account is already active or it cannot be found, try logging in. If you have just created this account and are getting this error then please wait a couple of minutes and try again" Now when I check in myphpadmin the account is there, it's status is "unconfirmed" and I can't see anything wrong with the code (but as I say I am a total fresher here lol). I have attached register.php so you can see what is there. I can see no "md5" variable in the phpmyadmin section for clown_account. If any other files are needed please just say! Firefox works great. I'm about to throw in the towel on this one and try another streaming solution, so I thought I'd reach out and connect with the PHP pros here before trying something else. Basically, the PHP streamer takes a track guid variable and token variable(MD5), looks up the field in the DB, gets the url and then proceeds to stream the file with no caching, and keeping the URL hidden from the user so they can't download it. The token variable is there to assure that the url is only used once. Once it is, the script will not allow the stream if the token/track guid combo already exists in the DB. The problem with the looping is that once that token has been used it won't stream the track, which is how it's suppose to work, sans looping. I've put an MYSQL INSERT into the code to verify that it does loop.. usually I see 3- :wtf:5 consecutive entries in the DB for that token. So Firefox does not do this.. and I gather it's something to do with how the client streams with the "readfile" function. I really just need a search term to use for what i'm trying to do. I would like my buttons to appear pressed on each page. For example if you are on the home page the home button will appear pressed. If you are on the screenshots page the screenshots button will appear pressed. Pretty much i want my nav bar to display what page is being viewed. That bit I understand and have managed to do aswell as getting the password to hash using the line below: $hashed = password_hash($password, PASSWORD_DEFAULT);
What I'm trying to do now is have the passwords check to see if they are the same, if so the user is able to register, if not they are sent back to the registration page(which was working before I started tampering with the next bit). So I'm looking for a guy who could program a system for my website. It's gonna be a site where people can register and join the raffles.
The raffles will work on a ticket system where you have to buy a ticket to join a competition. The registration has to be safe and same as raffle without any bugs etc..
