PHP - Email A User Database With Content From Another Database
Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me. I've got a My_SQL database containing articles, a summary for the article and a date. I have a basic CMS system set-up, but I want to create a script that when users sign up to a mail list it forwards the summary and dates of the articles database. If that makes sense? But I only want it to forward the most recent 5 rows. I'm pretty new to PHP and I've been mostly following tutorials thus far, but this is quite specific. Thanks in advance! Similar TutorialsThis script works well as far as getting the form information onto the database but for some reason the confirmation email is not being sent to the user. Could someone take a quick look at my script? Please? I've attached the included files as well. I guess I just need another set of eyes to look over this script. It would be much appreciated <?php // Created BY Adam Khoury @ www.developphp.com // let's initialize vars to be printed to page in the HTML section so our script does not return errors // they must be initialized in some server environments $errorMsg = ""; $firstname = ""; $lastname = ""; $country = ""; $state = ""; $city = ""; $zip = ""; $website = ""; $youtube = ""; $email1 = ""; $email2 = ""; $pass1 = ""; $pass2 = ""; // This code runs only if the form submit button is pressed if (isset ($_POST['firstname'])){ /* Example of cleaning variables in a loop $vars = ""; foreach ($_POST as $key => $value) { $value = stripslashes($value); $vars .= "$key = $value<br />"; } print "$vars"; exit(); */ $firstname = $_POST['firstname']; $lastname = $_POST['lastname']; $country = $_POST['country']; $state = $_POST['state']; $city = $_POST['city']; $zip = $_POST['zip']; $website = $_POST['website']; $youtube = $_POST['youtube']; $email1 = $_POST['email1']; $email2 = $_POST['email2']; $pass1 = $_POST['pass1']; $pass2 = $_POST['pass2']; $humancheck = $_POST['humancheck']; $firstname = stripslashes($firstname); $lastname = stripslashes($lastname); $state = stripslashes($state); $city = stripslashes($city); $zip = stripslashes($zip); $website = stripslashes($website); $youtube = stripslashes($youtube); $email1 = stripslashes($email1); $pass1 = stripslashes($pass1); $email2 = stripslashes($email2); $pass2 = stripslashes($pass2); $firstname = strip_tags($firstname); $lastname = strip_tags($lastname); $state = strip_tags($state); $city = strip_tags($city); $zip = strip_tags($zip); $website = strip_tags($website); $youtube = strip_tags($youtube); $email1 = strip_tags($email1); $pass1 = strip_tags($pass1); $email2 = strip_tags($email2); $pass2 = strip_tags($pass2); // Connect to database include_once "connect_to_mysql.php"; $emailCHecker = mysql_real_escape_string($email1); $emailCHecker = eregi_replace("`", "", $emailCHecker); // Database duplicate e-mail check setup for use below in the error handling if else conditionals mysql_select_db("perry100_users", $myConnection); $sql_email_check = mysql_query("SELECT email FROM myMembers WHERE email='$emailCHecker'", $myConnection); $email_check = mysql_num_rows($sql_email_check);// or die(mysql_error()); // Error handling for missing data if ((!$firstname) || (!$lastname) || (!$country) || (!$state) || (!$city) || (!$zip) || (!$email1) || (!$email2) || (!$pass1) || (!$pass2)) { $errorMsg = 'ERROR: You did not submit the following required information:<br /><br />'; if(!$firstname){ $errorMsg .= ' * First Name<br />'; } if(!$lastname){ $errorMsg .= ' * Last Name<br />'; } if(!$country){ $errorMsg .= ' * Country<br />'; } if(!$state){ $errorMsg .= ' * State or Provice<br />'; } if(!$city){ $errorMsg .= ' * City<br />'; } if(!$zip){ $errorMsg .= ' * Postal or Zip Code<br />'; } if(!$email1){ $errorMsg .= ' * Email Address<br />'; } if(!$email2){ $errorMsg .= ' * Confirm Email Address<br />'; } if(!$pass1){ $errorMsg .= ' * Login Password<br />'; } if(!$pass2){ $errorMsg .= ' * Confirm Login Password<br />'; } } else if ($email1 != $email2) { $errorMsg = 'ERROR: Your Email fields below do not match<br />'; } else if ($pass1 != $pass2) { $errorMsg = 'ERROR: Your Password fields below do not match<br />'; } else if ($humancheck != "") { $errorMsg = 'ERROR: The Human Check field must be cleared to be sure you are human<br />'; } else if ($email_check > 0){ $errorMsg = "<u>ERROR:</u><br />Your Email address is already in use inside our database. I built an application for a client of mine using PHPRunner about 3 years ago. It has functioned perfectly right up to today when they notified me that they were unable to Export any records. I have attached the error report that comes up when you run Export function. According to the report it is unable to find a file or path. I have been on to server with FTP client and all the paths, files and contents are present. Can anyone please give me any advise on what might suddenly cause this error after many years. All other functionality of the Database is fine. Many thanks, Carl. Edited August 1, 2019 by wscwt01 Spelling error Hello every body....
I'm creating a simple php project where the user will be able to choose option from dropdown menu and the query will be executed accordingly..
The html form is shown below....
<select name='movie_name'> <option value='ALL'>All</option> <option value='blah'>Blah blah </option> <option value='blah'>Blah blah </option> ... </select> <select name='movie_genre'> <option value='ALL'>All</option> <option value='Horror'>Horror</option> <option value='Anime'>Anime</option> ... </select> <select name='movie_cast'> <option value='ALL'>All</option> <option value='john'>john</option> <option value='Katrina'>Blah blah Katrina</option> ... </select>If the user select "ALL" then, all the resuls will be displayed according to the selected options AND again If the user select "different" options then, all the resuls matcing from the database will be shown... Tha database schema is shown below | id | movie_name| movie_genre | movie_cast | 1 | Hello Brother | Comedy | Salman Khan | 2 | Blah blah | ALL | Blah blah | 3 | ALL | ALL | ALL | 4 | Blah Blah | Blah Blah | ALL * here "ALL" is a specific text which may or may not be present in the rows.... Thank u in advance.... just wandering if this can be done and if so do you know were i can read about this or have any suggestion? i have a database with all are clients data that we store in it. I can now let them log into a php search screen that they can pull data from and see what we have stored. I would like to restrict what info they can pull by the user name they log in with, so they are not pulling other client info when they do the search. the user database and company database are two different ones. they search by box number and i would like to restrict what it pulls up by company name depending on if the user logged in has rites to that company info. so if jane doe logged in and she was a member of soso company when she did a box search she would only see what was from soso company instead of how it is now it pulls from soso, DD, and all the company's. Thanks in advance I have created an input field on a website for people to subscribe by their email address. The email address is stored in a database. I am using PHPMyAdmin. The email address is successfully working, but I want to prevent duplicate email address to be stored, however, I am having an error. Here are my codes: HTML codes: Code: [Select] <form action="index.php" method="post"> <input type="text" size="25" placeholder="Your email address..." name="enter"/> <input class="submit" type="submit" value="Subscribe" name="subscribe"/> <br/> PHP with Query codes: Code: [Select] <?php if ( $_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == "POST" ) { $ee = htmlentities($_POST['enter']); if (!preg_match('/^[^0-9][a-zA-Z0-9_]+([.][a-zA-Z0-9_]+)*[@][a-zA-Z0-9_]+([.][a-zA-Z0-9_]+)*[.][a-zA-Z]{2,4}$/',$ee) || empty($ee)){ echo '<p class="fail">Failed...Try again!</p>'; } else { @mysql_connect ('localhost', 'root', '') or die ('A problem has occurred, refresh the page and try again!'); @mysql_select_db ('links') or die ('A problem has occurred, refresh the page and try again!'); $duplicate = "SELECT * FROM `email` WHERE `emailaadress` = '{$ee}'"; $query = "INSERT INTO email (id, emailaddress) VALUES('NULL', '.$ee')"; $result = mysql_query($duplicate); if ( mysql_num_rows ( $result ) > 1) { /* Username already exists */ echo 'Username already exists'; } else { mysql_query($query); echo '<p class="success">Successfully subscribed!</p>'; } } } ?> Error I am having: Warning: mysql_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in C:\xampp\htdocs\softwareportfolio\index.php on line 68 Can someone help me? Thank Hi Guys, I have the following code that I'm getting from my database. This is how it appears in the DB. Code: [Select] <div id="reply_flash"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px; text-align: left; color: rgb(102, 102, 102);"> <br> <div style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 19px; line-height: 20px; color: rgb(88, 43, 0); font-weight: normal; text-align: left;">This is a heading</div> <p>This is some text in this area.</p> <a href="#"><strong>Read more</strong></a> </td> </tr> </table> </div> When the user goes to edit the page, I'm retrieving the above from the database: http://www.mysite.com/newsletter/edit/56 Code: [Select] // Controller to handle the request public function edit() { $id = $this->uri->segment(3); $data['get_newsletter'] = $this->Newsletter_model->get_newsletter($id); $this->load->view('header'); $this->load->view('newsletter/edit', $data); $this->load->view('footer'); } // View to display the request foreach($get_newsletter as $row) { $code = $row->code; $newsletter_id = $row->id; } echo $code; Now, when I echo the code below. It appears in the html as Code: [Select] <div id="reply_flash"> </div> // CLOSING THE DIV AND PUTTING THE TABLE OUTSIDE <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px; text-align: left; color: rgb(102, 102, 102);"> <br> <div style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 19px; line-height: 20px; color: rgb(88, 43, 0); font-weight: normal; text-align: left;">This is a heading</div> <p>This is some text in this area.</p> <a href="#"><strong>Read more</strong></a> </td> </tr> </table> </div> As you can see, when it's being retrieved and being displayed on the webpage, the div is being closed and the table appears outside it. Have no isdea what is going on. Lets say you have a database which is packed with content. How can this be used for SEO purposes? Does Google follow all the links on your site and read the echo and indexing that information. Or does the content in a database need to converted into HTML for Google to be able to read it? I tried using Google Custom Search however it did not display anything in my database. If Google crawled my site and ranked it and then carried out the search using Google Custom Search would it then display using Google Custom Search? so ik you cna get a search box to search items or text in a database, but what i want to know is how to manually insert text and images into it example image (imagine its an image) text name - text price how would i do this? This topic has been moved to Application Design. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=347193.0 hi i had database with field of name,title,post,content i want to fetch the post and content for a specific user from giving name of that user by form help me to get that ps just give me idea to how to do that/ Code: [Select] <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="view.php"> <label>Name <input type="text" name="textfield" /> </label> <p> <label> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit" /> </label> </p> </form> Hi, I have a database that stores pdf files. I need to know how do I retrieve the pdf file from the database and then add it as an attachment to be emailed. Regards Dieter Hi Everyone, Very new to PHP and databases, so please go easy on me! I have a series on web pages each containing a link that says 'apply here'. What I am trying to achieve is when any of these links are clicked on the user is taken to a php form page where they are asked for a series of further information such as name, telephone number etc. When they click submit this information then gets sent off to a speciifc email address. My problem is that depending on which page the user has originally come from (the page where they clicked on the apply here link) needs to determine what email address the form information gets sent to. I thought that the best way to achieve this would be to create a database that contains all of the email addresses (as eventually there will be alot of them) and the form page could call in the relevant email somehow... although I am totally confused on how to go about doing this. Any help would be great! Thankyou. Hi there everyone. I'm really confused about this as I want to email eveyone in my DB when a new Event is created by a member. I have a test code which I used to make sure it works and it sends to 5 email addresses (which is all of them) in the test table. This works fine. All members with a 0 get the mail. So I now just took the code and changed the table name (obviously!!) and put it in my live site which has 50 members so far. It now doesn't send any emails??? Not sure why this is as the code is exactly the same (except the table name). $result = mysql_query("SELECT email FROM membership WHERE send_as_email = '0'"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { sendMail($row[0]); } mysql_free_result($result); function sendMail($to){ $subject = 'New Event Created; $message = "Hi there,\n Just letting you know of a new Event that has been created.\n Title: $title\n Town: $town\n Date: $date_convert\n For more details or to attend this Event, please login \n Many thanks\n The Team\n \n ****************************************************************************\n THIS EMAIL IS AUTOMATED. DO NOT REPLY.\n To turn notifications off, change the notification settings in your Profile.\n ****************************************************************************\n"; $headers = 'From: members@mysite.co.uk' . "\r\n" . 'X-Mailer: PHP/' . phpversion(); mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers); } Hey guys Whats the best way to take all the email addresses from a MySQL database of contact information and turn it into an array which i can use in the To: Section of sending an email in php? Thanks. Hi, I am hoping I have posted my current problem in the right part of this forum. As it relates to the php code, I presume this is the right place, although it also relates to a mysql database I have too. Ok, here is my problem.... I have two websites, one is a non members site and one is a paid members area site. I had a directory style script made for the non members site and want to use the same script within the members site. I paid for the script to be made and set up, which cost me quite a bit, hence the reason I am copying it all over to my other site too. The script displays thumbnials from the database, 4 across and 3 down (total of 12 thumbs per page), each linking to a URL and each thumb has a title. On the left of the webpage is categories, which when clicked, shows thumbs relating to that specific category, or all etc. The CMS forms allow us to add categories etc. Ok, now my problem is this.. I backed up the original database and created a new database on the members site where I also want this functionality. I copied all the scripts over then chenged the content of the database. On the members site I only want it to display three categories, All, Photos and Videos. So this is quite simple compared to the first site. All seemed to display fine, until I moved all the scripts into the members folder (which is accessed via ccbill). The page displays ok, but it just states "No updates found" as in, no content in the database is found. The base url in the configuration script is set to the top domain, but I have renamed the folders where the thumbs are saved to members/thumbs, but still it isnt working. I also want to change the folder name from its original name of www.domain.com/sites to the new domain.com/updates but nothing works when I try to change it. If anyone can help me out with this, I would be extremely grateful, as the workings of this script are all there, and it seems pointless having to spend hundreds on a new script to be made when the functionality is already there, but just not working right. Thanks so much! I'm creating a newsletter and the unsubscribe isn't deleting the database entry like I'm asking it to. Everything else works fine, it even successfully says the user has been removed, but it doesn't actually delete the database entry. I've spent two days trying to figure out why. Here's the code:
Newsletter sign up: <?php //DB Connect Info $servername = ""; $database = ""; $username = ""; $password = ""; // Create connection $conn = mysqli_connect($servername, $username, $password, $database); // Check connection if ($conn->connect_error) { die("Connection failed: " . $conn->connect_error); } /*$createTable = $conn->prepare ("CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS email_user ( id int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, email varchar(200) NOT NULL, hash varchar(250) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id) )"); $createTable->execute(); */ function input_security($data) { $data = trim($data); $data = stripslashes($data); $data = htmlspecialchars($data); return $data; } $email = input_security($_POST['email']); $insertData = input_security($insertData); if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { extract($_POST); if($email!="") : $email=mysqli_real_escape_string($conn,$email); $emailval = '/^[_a-z0-9-]+(\.[_a-z0-9-]+)*@[a-z0-9-]+(\.[a-z0-9-]+)*(\.[a-z]{2,4})$/'; if(preg_match($emailval, $email)) : $db_check=$conn->query("SELECT * FROM email_user WHERE email='$email'"); $count=mysqli_num_rows($db_check); if($count< 1) : $hash=md5($email.time()); $link = '/unsubscribe.php?key='.$hash; // Change your domain $fetch=$conn->query("INSERT INTO email_user(email,hash) VALUES('$email','$hash')"); $to="$email"; //change to ur mail address $strSubject="Maintenance Fee Relief, LLC | Email Subscription"; $message = '<p>Thank you for subscribing with us.</p>' ; $message .= '<p>Click here to unsubscribe your email : <a href="'.$link.'">unsubscribe</p>' ; $headers = 'MIME-Version: 1.0'."\r\n"; $headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1'."\r\n"; $headers .= "From: info@"; $mail_sent=mail($to, $strSubject, $message, $headers); $msg_sucess="Your request has been accepted!."; else : $msg="This $email email address is already subscribe with us."; endif; else : $msg="Please enter your valid email id"; endif; else : $msg="Please fill all mandatory fields"; endif; } ?> <div class="newsletter-sign-up-header-form"> <div id="logerror"><?php echo @$msg; ?><?php echo @$msg_sucess; ?></div> <form method="post"> <span><input type="email" name="email" placeholder="Email Address - Join Newsletter" class="newsletter-sign-up-header-email" required></span> <span><button name="submit" value="submit" title="Submit" class="newsletter-sign-up-header-submit-button">Submit</button></span> </form> </div> <?php //DB Connect Info $servername = ""; $database = ""; $username = ""; $password = ""; // Create connection $conn = mysqli_connect($servername, $username, $password, $database); // Check connection if ($conn->connect_error) { die("Connection failed: " . $conn->connect_error); } ?> <?php if(@$_GET['key']!=""): $hash=mysqli_real_escape_string($conn,$_GET['key']); $fetch=$conn->query("SELECT * FROM email_user WHERE hash = '$hash'"); $count=mysqli_num_rows($fetch); if($count==1) : $row=mysqli_fetch_array($fetch); $conn->query("DELETE email_user WHERE id='$user_id'"); $msg="Your email id unsubscribe with us"; else : $msg="Please click valid link."; endif; else : header("Location:404.php"); endif; ?> <!doctype html> <html lang="en"> <head> <title>Unsubscribe</title> </head> <body> <div align="center"> <h2><?php echo $msg; ?></h2> <a href="https://www.--.com">--.com</a> </div> Quote
Hi, I have created a session based logon system using php and MYSQL from some tutorials I found online which is working very successfully. I can log on and of and move through different pages with no problems. My query is how do I output or display the information that is specific to the user which is currently logged on and block access to any other users information. I am quite sure there is a simple solution that is escaping me. If you could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance I have two tables. Table Name:Users Fields: User_name user_email user_level pwd 2.Reference Fields: refid username origin destination user_name in the users table and the username field in reference fields are common fields. There is user order form.whenever an user places an order, refid field in reference table will be updated.So the user will be provided with an refid Steps: 1.User needs to log in with a valid user id and pwd 2.Once logged in, there will be search, where the user will input the refid which has been provided to him during the time of order placement. 3.Now User is able to view all the details for any refid 3.Up to this we have completed. Query: Now we need to retrieve the details based on the user logged in. For eg: user 'USER A' has been provided with the referenceid '1234' during the time of order placement user 'USER B' has been provided with the referenceid '2468' during the time of order placement When the userA login and enter the refid as '2468' he should not get any details.He should get details only for the reference ids which is assigned to him. |
