I have an email form that is sending to an email address. There are five fields where the person sending can input their Name, Address, City, State, and Zip. Everything is working, except I want the input from these fields to be the the headers in the PHP email.

For instance it submits and send the letter, but I want the senders Name, Address, City, State, and Zip to be posted after the "Sincerely" in the letter sent. Here is what the input boxes of the form looks like:

OK so I am trying to send a email with the results of a submitted form to a specified email address. However when the email is received the data is not displayed rather the variable names are. See code and resulting email address below.

I have a strange problem with my headers in my mail function. This is how it looks like in my code:

I have allready found that the space between "Content-type" and "From" is not normal that indicates that a rule between MIME and Content-type is also present. But in my code there isn't any rule... How can this be possible? Thanks for the help!

Solution: Turns out the headers will not send unless all of the other code is behind an else userinfo.php?user=MikeH, possible addition to the sticked post?

So strictly speaking I dont have a header error because my script does not produce errors. However my script should be redirecting me to "notes.php?error=ad" but instead it just sends me back to the page I was previously at. My script is made to process a download via "tokens" and then redirect the user. That all works fine but what I am trying to do now is check if the user has already about the download and if they have redirect them to the error page letting them know. So in short the URL goes like this:

notes.php?viewn=2 -> purchase.php?user=MikeH&nid=2 (unseen page all processing) -> notes.php?error=ad

however what it is doing is:

notes.php?viewn=2 -> purchase.php?user=MikeH&nid=2 (unseen page all processing) -> notes.php?viewn=2

Unfortunately, I have no idea when this bug appeared. It must have happened a while ago, but I never noticed.
Anyone know how or why I am getting this bug?

Have just developed a new mass mailing system for a client, they are getting some emails sent back to them saying that this error has occured: returning message to sender 500 Line too long

I've googled this and found some information on it relating to a certain amount of characters have been passed in one line, and this is something to stop hacking attempts.

What command can I use on the code to stop this?

The content contains HTML and CSS.

I'm getting the following error:

Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in (file path)

I'm sure this error has been posted before, but I've searched and can't find a solution. I'm running XAMPP 1.7.3 with the Mercury/32 mail server v.4.72, which IS set to permit SMTP relaying of non-local mail. Is there anything I can change in php.ini, or anywhere else for that matter, to solve this?

I'm tearing my hair out with this... If I can just get it to send out this email, my project is finished, but I've been wrestling with this mail() function for about 3 hours.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys please i need your help . i created a HTML/PHP form . The PHP form handles posting to my mail while the HTML is the front face / webpage . Hopefully there is a simple solution to this.

I have a form that when submitted sends a message to an email address from the form. A customer fills it out, so there is no single one email address. However, half of the time, the retards that use this form dont know their own email address and dont bother to put the .net at the end of it. or they misspell it. The other half of the time they dont even bother to put the @ and the domain. They still think this is AOL for some god unknown reason. And I cant account for all the ways that they can not figure out how to fuck up their email address, so an email-validator doesnt work because they can even beat that and still manage to break it. For example, one guy named Mike continues to put the first half of his email in as Miek or Mik or just spelled completely wrong, and the 550 error that comes up when he puts that garbage in, which is most of the time (I think the guy is blind or something) is because his email address doesnt exist on the mail server because he cant spell it right, when on the off chance he actually does get the @domain.com in the end. I really hate my retard customers.

So my simple little form blows up on them.

But what I am trying to do is to have something like this

{
//success, I'll call them back shortly
}
else
{
//youre a retard, please put in your email address correctly
}

However, the error handling isnt working. mail() is supposed to return FALSE if it encounters an error, an error that I'd rather put in an error log and not display to the customer, however, the error suppressor doesnt work.

Any Suggestions?
