hi all

i have a problem here,

Iv got a form that uploads images to a folder and updates the db with the name of that image, that work ok

but if one of the upload field are left blank then the script updates the db with empty values
how can i get it to only update the db with only submitted form field data????

How can i edit just one image at on time with a multiple image upload form? I have the images being stored in a folder and the path being stored in MySQL. I also have the files being uploaded with a unique id. My issue is that I want to be able to pass the values of what is already in $name2 $name3 $name4 if I only want to edit $name1. I don't want to have to manually update the 4 images. Here is the PHP:

I have a working image upload script that uploads, renames the file and adds filename to the database.

is it possible to include some sort of image resize code? if so can anyone point me in the right direction or better still show some example code and explain how it works etc.

Hello all -

I'm fairly new to PHP and have been following some online tutorials to learn more, but hit a wall concerning a form that would allow a user to upload an image to his/her specified directory.

Basically, I'd like the user to have to put in a password to upload. This "password" would actually just be the name of their directory on the server, so if a user put in "michael83" in as their password, the image would upload to "http://www.mysite.com/images/uploaded/michael83/".

I'm developing one website for a real-estate agency. I have a html form that is used to submit property details, There is multiple form inputs and also I need to upload multiple property images using Dropzone JS multiple image upload.

so what i have going on is that i need help writing a basic script to upload original and copy with resize for thumbnail. then also need to rename both image files with content in the form.

so what needs to happen is for the file upload name. it needs to grab a count from "p_group" database to give it a starting number in a "00" pattern and then the date of pic needs to go in there next then the p_group name. so when the files gets uploaded it would look something like this after upload. "03 - Oct 21, 2011 - The Mex.jpg"
NOTE: all pics must be converted to ".jpg" extension.

both the orig and thumb will use that same file name cuz they just go into different dirs

re-sizing for the thumbnail should be done by aspect ratio and needs to either be 300px width or 400px height.

so if anyone would like to help me out please do. im not the greatest at writing in php yet

If the user wishes to delete or replace an image, click edit and the form will go back to the previous page. Select the replace radio button for example on one of the three images and select a new image from the file input prompt and click submit. The form will go to the preview page again to display the images. During this process the image names are being input into a table and the images are being moved to a directory.

The table is

The code for keep and delete work fine, but how do I replace an image?
I have two foreach blocks. The first one deletes the image file from the directory and deletes the image name from the table, but the second foreach dose not move the new image file into the directory.

Which one is better for standards practices in PHP.

1. Using the same form for everything. (Add and edit). Meaning setting up one form to handle adding new records, as well as editing existing records.

Or

2. Using two different forms for both actions. Use one form/area to handle Adding, and one form/area to handle editing.

Which one of these are better from a standards/practice point of a view. Which one better fits into the MVC platform (a framework like Codeignitor, or Cake).

Curl Multi-part Form Posting

Hey guys,

Recently I bumped into a little coding problem. I'm trying to submit information to a multi-part form (including an image upload). The receiving server couldn't read my input, figured I had a nill object somewhere (RoR). First I thought the problem was in my curl setopts, but I think they are fine. It looks like the problem is with the data I'm submitting.

I read a bit about multi part posting, and every article I read advised to make a postfield array, which curl would interpret and send out correctly. I did and this was my resulting array:

That failed. So I tried making it into a URLENCODED string:

This finally worked. I was able to submit the info I wanted. I'd like to send a file with it this time though. I'd need to put this into a postfield array to work though.

My form records playername, hours played and minutes played

I use some javascript to create new players as necessary so every player has a userid, hours, minutes played...
After posting the query string looks like this

/cLeagueHandler.php?player[1][userid]=1&player[1][hours]=3&player[1][minutes]=15&player[2][userid]=3&player[2][hours]=6&player[2][minutes]=45&submit=Save+Points

player1
userid = 1
hours = 3
minutes = 15

player2.......

The code i'm using to access the values is

The userid for Player Array is 1
The hours for Player Array is 3
The minutes for Player Array is 15
The userid for Player Array is 3
The hours for Player Array is 6
The minutes for Player Array is 45

Line 72 is foreach ($value as $iKey => $iValue) {

If anyone could help me with this it would be great appreciated.......I want to be able to build and sql string to Insert a players id, hours, minutes into a database......(obviously not incl the submit value!)
Maybe this is not even the best way of approaching this.....I'm quiet new to PHP so apologies if this is long winded...I'm trying to give as much info as possible....

hello friends,

while clicking the form all the information goes to database, I have one image upload field,
when cliking the submit button, i would like 'image name' to go in database and file to go in
/upload folder, i have tried this for hours and gave up,

if anyone help me in this, i would be very greatful
