PHP - Script To Output Variables For C++ Application
I have made a script that reads values from MySQL database and "Echo" them. When I run the script the variables from the DB are printed on the page as they should be.
Now I want to make those variables accessible to my C++ application to read. I am using WinInet functions to communicate with the script. Can somebody explain to me what I have to do in my php script be able to access the variables directly. The below script gets the value $var = $_GET['Version']; that is sent from my C++ app. It then reads from the DB table the Version number entered in the table. Then compares the version number from my C++ app to the DB version number. Now I want to make the Version Number from the DB accessible to my C++ app. I want to be able to get the exact value stored in: $row['VersionNumber']; with my C++ app. <?php $dbhost = 'host'; $dbuser = 'dbusername'; $dbpass = 'dbpass'; mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) or die ('Error connecting to mysql'); $dbname = 'MyDbsName'; mysql_select_db($dbname); $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM Users"); $var = $_GET['Version']; while($row = mysql_fetch_array($query)) { if($var == $row['VersionNumber']) { echo $row['VersionNumber']; } } ?> Similar TutorialsI'm having a problem with passing the error checking in this script into the url. It's basically checking to see if the entry has a value and if doesn't give an error messaage. All the error messages (technically a error number to trigger the error message on the original page) should be combined into one array, and sent via the URL so the original page can get the information from the URL. All it produces right now is index.php?investors=register2&error=array. I thought serializing the array should stop that from happening. Code: [Select] <?php $host="localhost"; // Host name $username="username"; // Mysql username $password="password"; // Mysql password $db_name="db_name"; // Database name $tbl_name="application"; // Table name // Connect to server and select databse. mysql_connect("$host", "$username", "$password")or die("cannot connect"); mysql_select_db("$db_name")or die("cannot select DB"); $error= array(); $name=$_POST['name']; $name = stripslashes($name); $name = mysql_real_escape_string($name); if(!isset($name)){ $error[0]=1; } $organization=$_POST['organization']; $organization = stripslashes($organization); $organization = mysql_real_escape_string($organization); $email=$_POST['email']; $email = stripslashes($email); $email = mysql_real_escape_string($email); if(!isset($email)){ $error[1]=1; } $area_code=$_POST['area_code']; $area_code = stripslashes($area_code); $area_code = mysql_real_escape_string($area_code); if(!isset($area_code) || is_int($area_code)){ $error[2]=1; } $phone3=$_POST['phone3']; $phone3 = stripslashes($phone3); $phone3 = mysql_real_escape_string($phone3); if(!isset($phone3) || is_int($phone3)){ $error[3]=1; } $phone4=$_POST['phone4']; $phone4 = stripslashes($phone4); $phone4 = mysql_real_escape_string($phone4); if(!isset($phone4) || is_int($phone4)){ $error[4]=1; } $ext=$_POST['ext']; $ext = stripslashes($ext); $ext = mysql_real_escape_string($ext); $phone="(".$area_code.") I recently downloaded a login script, which allows a user to login and also allows the protection of some pages if users are not logged in. This script was a free one from easykiss123. it comes with other .php files and I have given them all a look over and I get the general idea of what's going on for the most part, and I THINK as I keep reading my books I will understand everything even more. However, what I really want to do right now is make it so a website would know which user is logged on, and then use this information elsewhere. For example if a particular user logged on and submitted something, I would like obviously the submission to be recorded but also the id of the user that submitted it, at the moment with this code, I do not think that is possible, however I could be wrong. I am looking for any pointers or a nudge in the right direction or link to a tutorial of how I would go about this, anything that may help. I think I would be storing the user ID in a global variable that can be used throughout the site, but again I am not sure. Thanks in advance for any help, I have included both the login script and the script used for protecting pages, as its already freely available online I see no issue with posting snippits of it here since the source has been referenced. Code: [Select] <?php # Script 16.8 - login.php // This is the login page for the site. require_once ('includes/config.inc.php'); $page_title = 'Login'; include ('includes/header.html'); if (isset($_POST['submitted'])) { require_once (MYSQL); // Validate the email address: if (!empty($_POST['email'])) { $e = mysqli_real_escape_string ($dbc, $_POST['email']); } else { $e = FALSE; echo '<p class="error">You forgot to enter your email address!</p>'; } // Validate the password: if (!empty($_POST['pass'])) { $p = mysqli_real_escape_string ($dbc, $_POST['pass']); } else { $p = FALSE; echo '<p class="error">You forgot to enter your password!</p>'; } if ($e && $p) { // If everything's OK. // Query the database: $q = "SELECT user_id, first_name, user_level FROM users WHERE (email='$e' AND pass=SHA1('$p')) AND active IS NULL"; $r = mysqli_query ($dbc, $q) or trigger_error("Query: $q\n<br />MySQL Error: " . mysqli_error($dbc)); if (@mysqli_num_rows($r) == 1) { // A match was made. // Register the values & redirect: $_SESSION = mysqli_fetch_array ($r, MYSQLI_ASSOC); mysqli_free_result($r); mysqli_close($dbc); $url = BASE_URL . I've tried to use something like: $debuginfo = var_dump(debug_backtrace()); and then write $debuginfo to a text file for later review. The problem I have is that this approach uses the output stream and my program also wants to write to the output stream. Unfortunately, other programs are using the output stream and dumping dignostic data to the outputstream mesess with the state of the program. Is there a way to get a snapshot of variables and calls without interfering with the output stream? Thanks Mike Hi, I need a small help. Here is my situation. I am using a MVC application (e.g. Joomla or Drupal) which has a .htaccess redirect rule that all requests are passed through index.php file. That's normal and this is my main application. Now I installed another application within the application folder structure. What I want do do here is to allow opening the third party application URLs after one logged into my main application. Can anybody provide me some pointers to do the same? Please let me know if you need any further information on this. Any solution irrespective of framework will work. Thanks! Anupam Hi all, first time here and desperate. I have a host with php enabled so I figure why not use it as folks can turn off javascript. I am testing on a wamp windows setup. What I want to do is output an image or text to a div in a page, pause for 3 seconds then output a new pic or text to overwrite it. The code I am playing with is this. <html> <head><title></title></head> <body> <h1>what is this?</font></h1> <?php echo '<div id="main" style=" position: absolute; top:100; left: 100; width: 100px; height: 70px; visibility: show;"> my div content is here </div>'; //for ($x=0;$x<30000;$x++){} sleep(3); echo '<div id="main" style=" position: absolute; top:100; left: 100; width: 100px; height: 70px; visibility: show;"> new content now </div>'; ?> </body> </html> Firstly the second text output merges with the first ! can I destroy a div and then recreate it to get a clear canvas? BUT the thing I cant do is pause the output, as you see above I have tried an empty counting loop and the sleep function. Neither work as the pause happens before ANY output and then the div shows up with the merged outputs? Anyone explain to me how to do this and why does the sleep not occur wher it is placed? Thanks for your help people. I'm writing a script to grab some info from a list of urls in the database, but it just continuously loads and doesn't display anything. Thank you! Hi, I have a script that reads data from a website and insert this into a DB and every time a record is written into DB the script gives an output on the screen When I run this script local on my computer it runs ok and the screen update is every 20 or 30 seconds (not realtime) i though this maybe because of my computer is to slow etc. When I upload this to the server, it's even worse, no updates at all but it does insert the records into the DB. I believe it must be a setting in the Apache or PHP server. Anyone please, advice Thanks sure, I know how to output a picture with a php script. the problem is, the host I use, they won't let me edit the php.ini file to look through png files for PHP scripts before outputting. Of course, it is bad practice anyways... Is there any way to make it easy for a user to download the image with a .png extension instead of .php. (I know this is done automatically in windows 7, like: image.php.png because it reads the content type). Hello! I found this code from github. https://github.com/gburtini/Learning-Library-for-PHP and I want to know if its possible to add variables to it and what changes needed to be done to the whole script. $xs and $ys I want replace them and add two more. The whole code is he <?php require_once 'function.php'; function ll_nn_predict($xs, $ys, $row, $k) { $distances = ll_nearestNeighbors($xs, $row); $distances = array_slice($distances, 0, $k); $predictions = array(); foreach($distances as $neighbor=>$distance) { $predictions[$ys[$neighbor]]++; } asort($predictions); return $predictions; } function ll_nearestNeighbors($xs, $row) { $testPoint = $xs[$row]; $distances = _ll_distances_to_point($xs, $testPoint); return $distances; } function _ll_distances_to_point($xs, $x) { $distances = array(); foreach($xs as $index=>$xi) { $distances[$index] = ll_euclidean_distance($xi, $x); } asort($distances); array_shift($distances); return $distances; } and the function.php that is required is this: <?php function ll_transpose($rows) { $columns = array(); for($i=0;$i<count($rows);$i++) { for($k = 0; $k<count($rows[$i]); $k++) { $columns[$k][$i] = $rows[$i][$k]; } } return $columns; } function ll_mean($array) { return array_sum($array)/($array); } function ll_variance($array) { $mean = ll_mean($array); $sum_difference = 0; $n = count($array); for($i=0; $i<$n; $i++) { $sum_difference += pow(($array[$i] - $mean),2); } $variance = $sum_difference / $n; return $variance; } function ll_euclidean_distance($a, $b) { if(count($a) != count($b)) return false; $distance = 0; for($i=0;$i<count($a);$i++) { $distance += pow($a[$i] - $b[$i], 2); } return sqrt($distance); } I just want to know where is the variables in those 2 scripts and add more as I'm not well versed in using PHP. Thank you! I'm trying to use this php to clear out the session variables and return to the index page. However it's not clearing them out. Any ideas? logout.php Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); unset($_SESSION['user_id']); unset($_SESSION['username']); session_destroy(); header("Location: http://aaronhaas.com/pitchshark6/index.php?vid_id=1"); ?> then in my navigation I'm using this code to either display their username and a logout link to logout.php or if they are not logged in display a sign in link. Code: [Select] <?php // if logged in if (isset($_SESSION['user_id'])) { // display echo "<a href='#'>".$_SESSION['username']."</a> "; echo "<a href='scripts/logout.php'>Log Out</a> "; } // if not logged in else { // display login link echo "<a href='login.php'>Sign In</a>"; } ?> here is my super simple login script Code: [Select] $username = $_POST['username']; $password = $_POST['password']; //Check if the username or password boxes were not filled in if(!$username || !$password){ //if not display an error message echo "<center>You need to fill in a <b>Username</b> and a <b>Password</b>!</center>"; }else{ // find user by username and password - working $userQuery = 'SELECT * FROM users WHERE user_name ='.'"'. $username.'" AND password='.'"'. $password.'"' ; $users = mysql_query($userQuery); $user = mysql_fetch_array($users); $_SESSION['user_id'] = $user['user_id']; $_SESSION['username'] = $user['username']; header("Location: http://aaronhaas.com/pitchshark6/index.php?vid_id=1"); } Hey guys,
I'm using the following pagination script from a website I found. I'ts basically a pagination script that takes data from a MySQL database and displays a certain number of sets before placing the next set on a new page.
This script works great if I substitute a static value for the data I want returned but If the request is stored in a $POST variable like from an HTML form the data refuses to paginate. It will render the first set of data but will not paginate the rest and only shows blank pages
I'm thinking it has something to do with the $POST variable not being set or carrying over to each page but I'm not sure.
I truly appreciate the help!
