PHP - Input In Form Returns A String Instead Of Php Function
ok so this problem has been laughing at me for quite some time now
I tryed using some inline php in a form to pass it to my login script. The problem is that whenever the form gets submitted the variable r doesn't contain the actual microtime but it contains the inline php as a string: Code: [Select] <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Snitch</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="templates/css/snitch1440x900.css" /> </head> <body> <div id="login-achtergrond"> <div id="login"> <form action="." id="loginform" name="login" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="actie" value="Login"></input> <input type="hidden" name="r" value="<?php echo microtime();?>"></input> <input type="text" id="gebruikersnaam" name="gebruikersnaam" value="" style="opacity:0.7;filter:alpha(opacity=70)"></input> <input type="password" id="paswoord" name="paswoord" value="" style="opacity:0.7;filter:alpha(opacity=70)"></input> <input id="aanmelden" type="submit" name="submit" value="" style="opacity:0;filter:alpha(opacity=0)"> </form> </div> <div id="registreer"> </div> </div> </body> </html> the $_POST['r']; contains "<?php echo microtime();?>" instead of for example: 0.53192500 1305636839 does someone know what I am doing wrong here? I also tryed doing it like this: Code: [Select] <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Snitch</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="templates/css/snitch1440x900.css" /> </head> <body> <div id="login-achtergrond"> <div id="login"> <form action=".r=<?php echo microtime();?>" id="loginform" name="login" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="actie" value="Login"></input> <input type="text" id="gebruikersnaam" name="gebruikersnaam" value="" style="opacity:0.7;filter:alpha(opacity=70)"></input> <input type="password" id="paswoord" name="paswoord" value="" style="opacity:0.7;filter:alpha(opacity=70)"></input> <input id="aanmelden" type="submit" name="submit" value="" style="opacity:0;filter:alpha(opacity=0)"> </form> </div> <div id="registreer"> </div> </div> </body> </html> both $_POST and $_GET contains a string instead of the actual microtime single quotes didn't work eather Similar TutorialsWell the topic may not sound very explicit. So I'll do my best to explain it here. I have a pull down menu as part of a form, which contains the months of the year. I'm trying to store the value of this form entry using the $_POST['month'] variable into a database but first, I need to convert the month values into their corresponding integer values( that is 1 for January, 2 for February etc), in order to easily do date calculations later down the road. Any ideas about how to do this? It may be helpful to include the code for the pull down menu. Code: [Select] <p><tab> Date of Birth: <?php //Make the month pull down menu. //Array to store months. $months = array (1 => 'January', 'February', 'March', 'April', 'May', 'June', 'July', 'August', 'September', 'October', 'November', 'December'); print '<select name= "month">'; foreach ($months as $key => $value) { print "\n<option value=\"$key\">$value</option>"; } print '</select>'; ?> </tab> <tab> <?php //Make the day pull down menu print '<select name= "day">'; for ($day = 1; $day <= 31; $day++) { print "\n<option value=\"$day\">$day</option>"; } print '</select>'; ?> </tab> <tab><?php //Make the year pull down menu print '<select name= "year">'; $start_year = date('Y'); for ($y = ($start_year - 18); $y >= 1900; $y--) { print "\n<option value=\"$y\">$y</option>"; } print '</select>'; ?> </tab> </p> Hello i have a system where leaders add members, i want to display a table of members WHERE the 'leader' field equals 'myusername' so that leaders only see members they added. when using the WHERE function i get a database empty as the result but when i remove the WHERE function i get all the data returned Code: [Select] include("system/include/session.php"); $myUname = $session->username; echo "$myUname"; function displayMembers(){ global $database; $q = "SELECT * " ."FROM ".TBL_MEMBERS." WHERE leader = '$myUname'"; $result = $database->query($q); $num_rows = mysql_numrows($result); if(!$result || ($num_rows < 0)){ echo "Error displaying info"; return; } if($num_rows == 0){ echo "Database table empty"; return; } echo "<table>\n"; echo "<thead> <tr> <th>Full Name</th> <th>Gender</th> <th>DOB</th> <th>Post Code</th> <th>Email Address</th> <th>Edit User</th> </tr> </thead>\n"; for($i=0; $i<$num_rows; $i++){ $Mprefix = mysql_result($result,$i,"prefix"); $Mfname = mysql_result($result,$i,"firstname"); $Mlname = mysql_result($result,$i,"lastname"); $Mgender = mysql_result($result,$i,"gender"); $Mdob = mysql_result($result,$i,"dob"); $Mpostcode = mysql_result($result,$i,"postcode"); $Memail = mysql_result($result,$i,"email"); echo " <tbody> <tr> <td>$Mprefix $Mfname $Mlname</td> <td>$Mgender</td> <td>$Mdob</td> <td>$Mpostcode</td> <td>$Memail</td> <td> <center> <form action=\"system/admin/adminprocess.php\" method=\"POST\"> <input type=\"hidden\" name=\"deluser\" value=\"$uname\"> <input type=\"hidden\" name=\"subdeluser\" value=\"1\"> <input type=\"submit\" class=\"button plain\" value=\"Edit Member\"> </form> </center> </td> </tr> </tbody>\n"; } echo "</table><br>\n"; } all help i am thankful for I noticed that strtolower() wasn't working. My script was adding blank rows to a text file that was supposed to be lowercase emails, so I wrote the following script to confirm it's not working: <?php $var = "Foo"; echo "$var<br />"; echo srttolower($var)."<br />"; $var = strtolower($var); echo "$var<br />"; ?> This page just prints "Foo" once on the screen where I should see Foo foo foo I then checked my error log, and I'm getting Call to undefined function messages for strtolower(). Any ideas? How can I check if a function has returned false.. I know theirs the following way: if (!checkdate($month, $day, $year)) { //the function has returned false } But is their another way (beside using the ! operator) perhaps === FALSE (not sure if that'd work so asking)? Hi! For all my queries I use safe_query() and this function returns mysql_query() Now I want to count how many queries is being returned in this function... can someone modify the code and assign a variable to return max returns please? I would be grateful, thanks! Code: [Select] // -- MYSQL QUERY FUNCTION -- // $_mysql_querys = array(); function safe_query($query="") { global $_mysql_querys; if(stristr(str_replace(' ', '', $query), "unionselect")===FALSE AND stristr(str_replace(' ', '', $query), "union(select")===FALSE){ $_mysql_querys[] = $query; if(empty($query)) return false; if(DEBUG == "OFF") $result = mysql_query($query) or die('Query failed!'); else { $result = mysql_query($query) or die('Query failed: ' .'<li>errorno='.mysql_errno() .'<li>error='.mysql_error() .'<li>query='.$query); } return $result; } else die(); } Hello I am on to OOP now and I dont know how to write the syntax to print the results I want The scenario is I have the abstract class, its subclass and then the object that calls the subclass, all in different files. So: part of the subclass reads: Code: [Select] function __construct($v1, $v2, $v3) { $this->speed[] = $v1; // I dont like this either, it is not elegant. I tried to put an array as argument of the constructor and send the parameters $this->speed[] = $v2; // from the object being created, but it did not work, so I leave it like this for now, but I would have preferred to put that $this->speed[] = $v3; // array and then populate it by some looping. } // METHOD TO REPORT TABLE OF ACCELERATION public function acceleration() { return $this->acceleration1 = ($this->speed[1] - $this->speed[0])/5; // I actually need to return the other two speed differences from the other stages, but as you know, once the first return acts, it exits the function // so sure this "return" has to be abandoned and the results of the function have to be printed otherwise. That is the question. } =================================== And now from the Object file I am trying to call the function, but of course, I only get one value, even if I write 3 times return Code: [Select] $objeto = new Motorbike($v1, $v2, $v3); echo '<p>The speeds are ' . $objeto->acceleration() . '</p>'; // Yes, this call works, of course, but that is about it. I cant print any other result. Thanks a lot I think it is unusual but i dont know to fix it. when my computer clock shows 16: 13 hours , date() reuturns 10:43:16 . My systems time zone is +5.30 GMT. how does date() subtracts 5.30 hrs from the system time? I need to know which day of week was on particular date, so for example I would provide date lets say "Nov 22, 2010" formatted as needed and the function would return "Monday", is there a function in php to do that or how can it be done? can anyone see the problem here i am running php 5.3 on my server and GD seems to be enabled. and my host said it was probably something to do with the captcha files or script. <?php session_start(); /* * File: CaptchaSecurityImages.php * Author: Simon Jarvis * Copyright: 2006 Simon Jarvis * Date: 03/08/06 * Updated: 2007-08-12 by Jenny Ferenc (minor visual changes only) * Requirements: PHP 4/5 with GD and FreeType libraries * Link: http://www.white-hat-web-design.co.uk/articles/php-captcha.php * * This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or * modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License * as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 * of the License, or (at your option) any later version. * * This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, * but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of * MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. The point to this function is to be able to check the login of a user or administrator for either of the control panels associated with my site. It will check the session intime as well as the page / module referenced. Once it passes all those checks, it will check and ensure the emailaddress/password stored in the current session still holds true and the account is still active... if the account is still active it will update the lastActivity as well as update all of the session variables with what is currently in the database. What I am looking for is basically a look at the function, see if it looks good.. If there is any part to it that could create security holes for the site just off the login function itself... Hello, I am attempting to create a script where a user puts a text string into a form and clicking on submit. Then it adds that text string to a mysql database and gives the user a link back to it. Something like mysite.com/key.php?id=4 and when going to that link it will display the text string from the database but printed in an image. I wrote something up but I cannot get it to work. I may be a little in over my head. Any help is appreciated.
The way I coded this all to work is the user inputs the information into index.php which givekey.php inserts that into the database. I have not yet figure out how to do this in one single step. After that I wanted it to navigate directly to key.php which would display the key and the link to that page with the ?key=XX attribute. getkey.php <?php require_once 'dbinfo.php'; // database connection $id = $_GET['id']; // do some validation here to ensure id is safe $link = mysql_connect($servername, $username, $password); if (!$link) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } @mysql_select_db($database) or die( "Unable to select database"); $sql = "SELECT ukey FROM keycode WHERE id=$id"; $result = mysql_query("$sql"); $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result); mysql_close($link); header("Content-type: image/png"); echo $row['ukey']; ?> key.php <html> <head> <title>Your Key Is Ready</title> </head> <body> <img src="getkey.php?id=1" width="175" height="200" /> </body> </html>index.php <html> <head> <title></title> </head> <body> <section id="mid_section"> <div id="boxes"> <h1> Testing input key </h1> <br/> <form id="myform" action="givekey.php" method="post"> Key:<br /> <input type="text" value="ukey"> Source:<br /> <input type="radio" value="hb">HB<br /> <input type="radio" value="ig">IG<br /> <input type="radio" value="other">Other<br /> <button id="sub">Submit</button> </form> </body> </html>givekey.php <?php include_once('dbinfo.php'); $conn = mysql_connect($servername, $username, $password); $db= mysql_select_db($database); $ukey =$_POST['ukey']; $hb =$_POST['hb']; $ig =$_POST['ig']; $other =$_POST['other']; if(mysql_query("INSERT INTO `keycode`(`ukey`) VALUES ([$ukey]); INSERT INTO `source`(`hb`,`ig`,`other`) VALUES ([$hb],[$ig],[$other]);")) ?> Edited by chrisb302, 13 November 2014 - 12:18 AM.

I have a calendar select date function for my form that returns the date in the calendar format for USA: 02/16/2012. I need to have this appear as is for the form and in the db for the 'record_date' column, but I need to format this date in mysql DATE format (2012-02-16) and submit it at the same time with another column name 'new_date' in the database in a hidden input field. Is there a way to do this possibly with a temporary table or something? Any ideas would be welcome. I am creating my first contact form with php and I ran across this error after twinking with the php file: Fatal error: Function name must be a string in /www/zymichost.com/m/t/l/mtlproductions/htdocs/Contact2.php on line 11 Here is what my code looks like currently: Code: [Select] <html> <body> <?php include '/www/zymichost.com/m/t/l/mtlproductions/htdocs/header.inc.php';?> <?php include '/www/zymichost.com/m/t/l/mtlproductions/htdocs/menu.inc.php';?> <?php if ($missing || $errors) { ?> <p class="warning">You did not enter the required information. Please try again.</p> <?php }; ?> <?php ($errors); ($missing); if ($isset($_POST['send'])) { $to = 'tate.mikey@gmail.com'; $subject = 'New Feedback Received on MikeyTateLive Productions website'; } $expected = array('name', 'email', 'comments'); $required = array('name', 'comments'); ?> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="maincontent"> <h2>I am here when you need me!</h2> <p>Enter the information below and click send. Hope to hear back from you soon. =)</p> <p>*=required</p> </div> </div> <form id="feedback" method="get" action=""> <p> <label for="name">*Name:</label></br> <input name="name" id="name" type="text" class="formbox"> </p> <p> <label for="email">Email:</label></br> <input name="email" id="email" type="text" class="formbox"> </p> <p> <label for="comments">*Comments:</label></br> <textarea name="comments" id="comments" cols="60" rows="8"></textarea> </p> <p> <input name="send" id="send" type="submit" value="Send" </p> </form> <?php include '/www/zymichost.com/m/t/l/mtlproductions/htdocs/footer.inc.php';?> <?php include '/www/zymichost.com/m/t/l/mtlproductions/htdocs/processmail.inc.php';?> </body> </html> I originally had lines 9 and 10 set up like this except for the php opening and closing tags, lol: Code: [Select] <?php $errors(); $missing(); ?> But as you can see on my full code at lines 9 and 10, I made a minor change to it and now the error comes from line 11 instead of 9 and 10. And now I could use some help with this..... Thanks in advance for help. I have a PHP script that has a function called traverseXMLNodes and it passes an xml string. I want anyone with a username and password to be able to call this function from his website or application or programming. In short i want my site to act as an API(Application Programming Interface). I am really stuck as to how to go about this. There are other functions i would like to call as well so traverseXMLNodes is not the only function i want to my "API" users to access. Below is the code I am using. the filename for my php i called remote.php. I am using the following query string to test and no results are returned. http://localhost/testfolder/remote.php?xmlstring=20 Code: [Select] <?php $allowedfuncs = array('xmlstring','remotefunction2'); if(in_array($_get['xmlstring'], $allowedfuncs)) { $func = $_get['xmlstring']; $output = traverseXMLNodes($func); // This calls $_get['funccall']() echo $output; } else { exit(); } function traverseXMLNodes ($func) { echo "The XML string is"; echo "<br/>"; echo $func; echo "<br/>"; } /* More functions go here */ ?> Hi I'm setting up my own framework for a project. I was coming to the point of completion and thought up of a new idea. Is it possible to call a function like this from a class: class myClass { function func($param) { echo "Hello world". $param; } } $class = 'myClass'; $func = "func(' It\'s time to partey!')"; $$class = new $class; $$class->$func; Thanks for any help! |
