PHP - Displaying Master Details Page Links In Columns
Hi,
I would like to display my master details page links to the details pages in three columns rather than a single column. Below is the do-while code I have thus far, and I am stuck. Could someone please mock up this code quick, because I know it is a simple syntax error somewhere. <?php do { echo "<table border='0'>"; for ($y=1; ; $y++) { echo "<tr>"; for ($x=1; $x<=3; $x++) { echo "<td align='left'><a href="plantdetails.php?recordID=echo $row_rsBotanicalA['PlantID'];">; echo $row_rsBotanicalA['BotanicalName']; </a></td>" } echo "</tr>"; } } while ($row_rsBotanicalA = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsBotanicalA)); echo "</table>"; ?> Similar TutorialsHi, I am stuck. I have used dreamweaver to create a master details page with links to the details page successfully, but I would like to display the master details page results in 3 columns rather than the 1 column that dreamweaver defaults. As the site becomes richer the content will increase yielding many results, therfore the content displayed in a single column will require the users to scroll way down the page. So, as it is now the results display as follows: Plant1 Plant2 Plant3 Plant4 Plant5 Plant6 Plant7 Plant8 Plant9 etc... I would like them to display as follows: Plant1 Plant4 Plant7 Plant2 Plant5 Plant8 Plant3 Plant6 Plant9 Here is my code thus far: <?php require_once('Connections/connGND.php'); ?> <?php if (!function_exists("GetSQLValueString")) { function GetSQLValueString($theValue, $theType, $theDefinedValue = "", $theNotDefinedValue = "") { if (PHP_VERSION < 6) { $theValue = get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? stripslashes($theValue) : $theValue; } $theValue = function_exists("mysql_real_escape_string") ? mysql_real_escape_string($theValue) : mysql_escape_string($theValue); switch ($theType) { case "text": $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? "'" . $theValue . "'" : "NULL"; break; case "long": case "int": $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? intval($theValue) : "NULL"; break; case "double": $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? doubleval($theValue) : "NULL"; break; case "date": $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? "'" . $theValue . "'" : "NULL"; break; case "defined": $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? $theDefinedValue : $theNotDefinedValue; break; } return $theValue; } } mysql_select_db($database_connGND, $connGND); $query_rsBotanicalA = "SELECT * FROM plants WHERE CatIDB = 'A'"; $rsBotanicalA = mysql_query($query_rsBotanicalA, $connGND) or die(mysql_error()); $row_rsBotanicalA = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsBotanicalA); $totalRows_rsBotanicalA = mysql_num_rows($rsBotanicalA); ?> <table border="0" align="left"> <?php do { ?> <tr> <td align="left"><a href="plantdetails.php?recordID=<?php echo $row_rsBotanicalA['PlantID']; ?>"> <?php echo $row_rsBotanicalA['BotanicalName']; ?> </a></td> </tr> <?php } while ($row_rsBotanicalA = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsBotanicalA)); ?> </table> Could someone help me to write this code, as I have been unsuccessful maintaining the links. I have been able get the results to display in the columsn as I would like, but I haven't been able to figure it out while maintaining the links! Thanks. Hi, I have successfully implemented a master details page with the results aligned in columns linking to a details page. I wish to maintain the recordID passed from the master details page and make the dynamic text, which reads Shade A tree that is capable of..... in the attached screen shot a link to another details page referencing the same recordID. The detailspage2.php would look the same as the screenshot except the Shade text and description below will be highlighted, which I can do, there will be a new image and a new image description. All other dynmaic elements on the page will remain the same. I tried to simply save as my detailspage.php to detailspage2.php and create a link to detailspage2.php. It linked to detailspage2.php but none of the record info showed up in their respective table cells. I have all the names desc's, images, etc setup in a table in my database. Please let me know what code and other info you need to help me out with this procedure. Thanks. I am working on a PHP web form. I have Group name and its Member details stored in the database. The Group names from the database table gets populated in a combo box. Now what I'm trying to accomplish is, as soon I select a Group name, all its members should appear in a Label (or something) under the combo box with a textbox field next to the member name for me to assign the member position. How can we go about doing this. Please see the Screenshot I've attached and you'll have the idea as to what we're trying to accomplish here. All comments and feedback are welcomed! Thank you! Hi, I have a settings page which updates the users details. However, I want their current details displayed in the form fields, but I cannot get any result. The code is the same for each page, except I have to rename the TABLE everytime I make a new page: Code: [Select] <?php include('../include/myConn.php'); //contains your mysql connection and table selection include('../include/myCodeLib.php'); include('include/myCheckLogin.php'); include('include/myAdminNav.php'); include('ckfinder/ckfinder.php'); include('ckeditor/ckeditor.php'); if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == 'POST') { $myTitle = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['myTitle']); $myDesc = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['myDesc']); $myHeader = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['myHeader']); $mySubHeader = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['mySubHeader']); $myPageData = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['myPageData']); $sql = " UPDATE myTestimonials SET myTitle = '$myTitle', myDesc = '$myDesc', myHeader = '$myHeader', mySubHeader = '$mySubHeader', myPageData = '$myPageData' "; mysql_query($sql) && mysql_affected_rows() ?> <script language="JavaScript"> alert("This page was updated!"); location.href = "a_Testimonials.php"; </script> <?php } $query=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM myTestimonials") or die("Could not get data from db: ".mysql_error()); while($result=mysql_fetch_array($query)) { $myTitle=$result['myTitle']; $myDesc=$result['myDesc']; $myHeader=$result['myHeader']; $mySubHeader=$result['mySubHeader']; $myPageData=$result['myPageData']; } ?> <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta name="author" content="MontyTheWebmaster.com" /> <meta charset="ISO-8859-1" /> <title>Admin Area</title> <?php echo spAdminLinks(); ?> </head> <body> <div id="siteContainer"> <div id="topContainer"> <?php echo spAdminTopMenu(); ?> </div> <div id="topMenuContainer"> <div id="topMenu"> <?php echo spAdminMenu(); ?> </div> </div> <div id="contentContainer"> <div id="mainContent"> <h1>Editing: Testimonials</h1> <p> <form method="post" action="<?php echo $PHP_SELF;?>"> <input type="hidden" name="POSTBACK" value="EDIT"> <div style="float: left; width: 120px; margin-right: 30px;"> Page Title: </div> <div style="float: left; width: 550px;"> <textarea cols="80" rows="1" name="myTitle"><?php echo $myTitle; ?></textarea> </div> <div style="clear: both;"><br /></div> <div style="float: left; width: 120px; margin-right: 30px;"> Page Description: </div> <div style="float: left; width: 550px;"> <textarea cols="80" rows="1" name="myDesc"><?php echo $myDesc; ?></textarea> </div> <div style="clear: both;"><br /></div> <div style="float: left; width: 120px; margin-right: 30px;"> Page Header: </div> <div style="float: left; width: 550px;"> <textarea cols="80" rows="1" name="myHeader"><?php echo $myHeader; ?></textarea> </div> <div style="clear: both;"><br /></div> <div style="float: left; width: 120px; margin-right: 30px;"> Page SubHeader: </div> <div style="float: left; width: 550px;"> <textarea cols="80" rows="1" name="mySubHeader"><?php echo $mySubHeader; ?></textarea> </div> <div style="clear: both;"><br /></div> Page Content:<br /> <textarea cols="80" id="myPageData" name="myPageData"><?php echo $myPageData; ?></textarea> <script type="text/javascript"> CKEDITOR.replace( 'myPageData', { filebrowserBrowseUrl : 'ckfinder/ckfinder.html', filebrowserImageBrowseUrl : 'ckfinder/ckfinder.html?Type=Images', filebrowserFlashBrowseUrl : 'ckfinder/ckfinder.html?Type=Flash', filebrowserUploadUrl : 'ckfinder/core/connector/php/connector.php?command=QuickUpload&type=Files', filebrowserImageUploadUrl : 'ckfinder/core/connector/php/connector.php?command=QuickUpload&type=Images', filebrowserFlashUploadUrl : 'ckfinder/core/connector/php/connector.php?command=QuickUpload&type=Flash' } ); </script> <br /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> </p> </div> <div style="clear: both;"></div> </div> <div id="footerContainer"> <?php echo spAdminFooter(); ?> </div> </div> </body> </html> What I am curious about is how can I take this page and make it so I can add a new page, delete a page, etc. all from just one page like above? And on the frontend, what would be the best way to display the data in a search engine friendly way (i.e. without QueryStrings like MyPage.php?id=2 I want to create a master-detail page using PHP. Rather than getting data from a MYSQL database, I want to get the data from an associative array. Is this possible? Please someone show me the way forward. Please help. Hey guys, I wrote a code for displaying images in columns, but for some reason it's not working. Can you take a look and tell me what I'm doing wrong? $i = 0; if($i % 4 == 0){ echo ' <td width="25%" align="center" valign="top"> <a href= "'.$slika_velika.''.$slika_v.'" rel="lytebox" title="'.$naziv.' - '.$mjesto.' - '.$medalja.'" target="_blank"><img src="'.$slika_mala.''.$slika_m.'"width="200" height="150" border="0"></a><br> </td> <td width="25%" align="center" valign="top"> '.$naziv.' - '.$mjesto.' </td> <td width="25%" align="center" valign="top"> '.$medalja.' </td><br /> '; echo '</tr><tr>'; } $i++; } The output I'm getting now is one image below another. I would like to display them one next to another. Please help!!! Code: [Select] <?php $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM FamilyTbl INNER JOIN PeopleTbl ON (FamilyTbl.Name_ID = PeopleTbl.NameID) WHERE FamilyTbl.House_ID = '$address' ORDER BY NameLast, NameFirst ") OR die(mysql_error()); WHILE ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result) ) { echo $row[NameLast]. ", ". $row[NamePrefix]. " ". $row[NameFirst]. " ". $row[NameMiddle]. $row[NameSuffix]. " "; } ?> OK, some of these queries return A LOT of names. I'd like to be able to display them in columns in a table like so: Code: [Select] Charne, Mr. Michael Glanger, Mrs. Karin Kling, Mr. Wayne Charne, Mrs. Suzette Glanger, Mr. Trevor Lazarow, Mrs. Fiona Charney, Mrs. Linda Jochelson, Mrs. Barbara Lazarow, Mr. Mark Charney, Mr. Norman Jochelson, Mr. Neil Norton, Mr. Charles Cohen, Mr. Brendan Karlan, Mr. Dennis Norton, Mrs. Jodi Cohen, Mrs. Joanna Karlan, Mrs. Helen Roy, Mr. Michael Flekser, Mrs. Jean Kling, Mrs. Danielle Roy, Mrs. Nicki Frysh, Dr. Howard Kling, Mrs. Melanie Tsafrir, Mrs. Lauren Frysh, Mrs. Sandra Kling, Mr. Nevil Tsafrir, Mr. Thomer That way it reads top to bottom THEN left to right. math-wise, it's simple to set up: Code: [Select] $num_results = number_of_$results; $numcols = 3; $numrows = trunc($numresults/numcols); <table> for row_loop=1 to numrows <tr> for col_loop = 1 to numcols <td> echo result(col_loop-1)*(numrows)+row_loop </td> next col_loop </tr> next row_loop </table> Anyone want to give this a shot? Revraz already directed me to http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php/topic,95426.0.html but that displayed the data from left to right then up to down like so: Code: [Select] Charne, Mr. Michael Charne, Mrs. Suzette Charney, Mrs. Linda Charney, Mr. Norman Cohen, Mr. Brendan Cohen, Mrs. Joanna Flekser, Mrs. Jean Frysh, Dr. Howard Frysh, Mrs. Sandra Glanger, Mrs. Karin Glanger, Mr. Trevor Jochelson, Mrs. Barbara Jochelson, Mr. Neil Karlan, Mr. Dennis Karlan, Mrs. Helen Kling, Mrs. Danielle Kling, Mrs. Melanie Kling, Mr. Nevil Kling, Mr. Wayne Lazarow, Mrs. Fiona Lazarow, Mr. Mark Norton, Mr. Charles Norton, Mrs. Jodi Roy, Mr. Michael Roy, Mrs. Nicki Tsafrir, Mrs. Lauren Tsafrir, Mr. Thomer It's a good temp solution, but if anyone is good with for loops, I'd appreciate the help, thanks! -Dave Hi, This has been baffling me for a couple hours now and i cant seem to figure it out. I have some code which creates an array and gets info from a mysql database and then displays in a list. This works great but after adding more and more rows to my database the list is now becoming quite large and doesnt look great on my site. Is it possible to split the list into multiple columns of about 25 and if possible once 3 or 4 columns have been created start another column underneath. To help explain i would be looking at a layout as follows: Code: [Select] line 1 line 1 line 1 line 2 line 2 line 2 ... ... ... line 25 line 25 line 25 line 1 line 1 line 1 line 2 line 2 line 2 ... ... ... line 25 line 25 line 25Im guessing there should be some sort of if statement to check how many items are being displayed and to create a new column if necessary. Is this correct? Thanks, Alex Hello freaks, Got a task here which is displaying correctly (I believe). I only have 3 data entries in the db right now. Like I said (I think) the display of the code below yields the right layout but it repeats the first db entry over and over. I got the display to work correctly like this: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 I am trying to get this display result (so it is more eligable for the end user!) 1 4 7 2 5 8 3 6 9 Thanks in advance! CODE Code: [Select] <?php include_once "connect_to_mysql.php"; $cols = 3; $result = mysql_query("SELECT plantID, botanicalName FROM plants ORDER BY botanicalName"); $numrows = mysql_num_rows($result); $rows_per_col = ceil($numrows / $cols); $c = 1; $r = 1; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $plantID = $row["plantID"]; $botanicalName = $row["botanicalName"]; if ($r == $rows_per_col) { $c++; $r = 1; } else { $r++; } } $dyn_table = '<table width="750" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">'; for ($r = 1; $r <= $rows_per_col; $r++) { $dyn_table .= '<tr>'; for ($c = 1; $c <= $cols; $c++) { $dyn_table .= '<td><a href="plant_details.php?plantID = ' . $plantID . '" id="plantLink">' . $botanicalName . '</a></td>'; } $dyn_table .= '</tr>'; } $dyn_table .= '</table>'; ?> Hello. I just created a product gallery containing thumbnails of items that I will be selling. When a user click on on of the thumbnails, I want a product details page to appear with more details about the chosen product Could use some feedback if I am going about things the right way... Step 1: User goes to my gallery located he www.mysite.com/store/product-gallery.php Step 2: System displays a page of thumbnails representing items that I am selling. Step 3: User click on a given thumbnail which is a hyperlink to: www.mysite.com/store/products/4571 Step 4: System rewrites the URL as such: www.mysite.com/store/products.php?sku=4571 Step 5: System queries MySQL and retrieves record for sku 4571 Step 6: System displays product details for the chosen item in Step 3 which is sku 4571
How does that sound?
Hello there, I'm trying to make when you click on a record, it opens another page with full details about this record the code for it is Code: [Select] <td><a href=\"user.php?id=".$row['id']."\">".$row['id']."</a></td> and it's working right, but when it opens the other page, no records is shown about the user with that ID So I figure the problem that I need to pass $row['id'] to my second page and make it search for it in the database how can I do that? here is the code from the second page (details of the record) Code: [Select] $dbObj = new DB(); $result = mysql_query("select * from users where id = '$userID'"); return $result; $row = @mysql_fetch_array($result); echo "<table width=98%>"; echo "<tr>"; echo "<td valign=\"top\" width=\"120px\">"; $rowid = $row['id']; echo "<td valign=\"top\">"; echo "<table> <tr> <td valign=\"top\" class=\"searchtitle\"> ".$row['fname']. Been having a problem with certain queries. I have a database with football results, games, teams etc. I can filter these using drop down and that's all well and good. The problem I'm having is displaying the data via gameweek. I've been asked to display the table like so - Gameweek1 will display week1 teams, results etc. Gameweek2 will display week2... and so on.
I can manage to do this in a drop down. But I've been asked to display this using links like "Previous, 1, 2, 3 Next". I've tried pagination but I couldn't figure it out. Can anyone point me in the right direction? If I need a GET() method, how would I go about coding that so it will be used in a link(s)? Been searching and searching to find an answer but to no avail...
//Database connection etc... $gameweek = "SELECT * FROM games WHERE gameweek= 1"; //if(isset($_GET['gameweek'])) //{ // $gameweek = $_GET['gameweek']; // //} //.... $result=mysqli_query($connection, "select * from games WHERE gameweek= 1"); //Print table and table headings... mysqli_close($connection); ?> <a href="http://weeks.php?gameweek=2">Week 2</a> <a href="http://weeks.phpgameweek=3">Week 3</a> </body> </html> I have two tables categories and subcategories and what I want do is display them but here I ran into problem displaying the subcategories. Here's the code that doesn't work, all it does it displays categories. $query = "SELECT ID,name FROM `categores`"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo $row['name']; $id_main=$row['ID']; $query2 ="SELECT name_subcategory FROM subcategories WHERE id_main_category=".$row['ID']; $result2 = mysql_query($query2) or die(mysql_error()); while ($row2=mysql_fetch_array($result2)); { echo $row2['name_subcategory']; } echo "<br />"; } Display should be -category --subcategory --subcategory -another category --subcategory of "another category" . . . Hi there,
I'm a bit of a noobie, and I have a class which will allow me to send an email in html.
However when I send an email with a link such as <a href="http://www.google.com">link</a> using the html() function
The email is sent and everything is displayed corrected.
However the link isn't clickable.
Here is the code for the class.
<? class eMail { var $to = array(); var $cc = array(); var $bcc = array(); var $attachment = array(); var $boundary = ""; var $header = ""; var $subject = ""; var $body = ""; function eMail($name,$mail) { $this->boundary = md5(uniqid(time())); $this->header .= "From: $name <$mail>\n"; } function to($mail) { $this->to[] = $mail; } function cc($mail) { $this->cc[] = $mail; } function bcc($mail) { $this->bcc[] = $mail; } function attachment($file) { $this->attachment[] = $file; } function subject($subject) { $this->subject = $subject; } function text($text) { $this->body = "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1\n"; $this->body .= "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit\n\n"; $this->body .= $text."\n"; } function html($html) { $this->body = "Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1\n"; $this->body .= "Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable\n\n"; $this->body .= "<html><body>\n".$html."\n</body></html>\n"; } function send() { // CC $max = count($this->cc); if($max>0) { $this->header .= "Cc: ".$this->cc[0]; for($i=1;$i<$max;$i++) { $this->header .= ", ".$this->cc[$i]; } $this->header .= "\n"; } // BCC $max = count($this->bcc); if($max>0) { $this->header .= "Bcc: ".$this->bcc[0]; for($i=1;$i<$max;$i++) { $this->header .= ", ".$this->bcc[$i]; } $this->header .= "\n"; } $this->header .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\n"; $this->header .= "Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary=$this->boundary\n\n"; $this->header .= "This is a multi-part message in MIME format\n"; $this->header .= "--$this->boundary\n"; $this->header .= $this->body; // Attachment $max = count($this->attachment); if($max>0) { for($i=0;$i<$max;$i++) { $file = fread(fopen($this->attachment[$i], "r"), filesize($this->attachment[$i])); $this->header .= "--".$this->boundary."\n"; $this->header .= "Content-Type: application/x-zip-compressed; name=".$this->attachment[$i]."\n"; $this->header .= "Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64\n"; $this->header .= "Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=".$this->attachment[$i]."\n\n"; $this->header .= chunk_split(base64_encode($file))."\n"; $file = ""; } } $this->header .= "--".$this->boundary."--\n\n"; foreach($this->to as $mail) { mail($mail,$this->subject,"",$this->header); } } } ?> Hello, I have a quick question about methods for retrieving records from a mysql table and displaying them as a links For example, imagine I have three tables called countries, cities and city_info. I'd like to be able to select a country and have a list of that country's city names returned as links. I'd then like to be able to click on the link for London, say, and that would trigger a mysql query to retrieve the entry in city_info about London. Are there any functions that allow this? If anyone could point me in the right direction for further research I'd be grateful. Thanks. |
