Hi everyone, I'm trying to get my head around blending in and out of php and html.  I've seen some simple examples which work great but now I have this variable that comes from the database and I would like to style the variable in-line with html markup.   Here's what I'm trying to do:   <?php    echo "Price : ",'<Font size="100"> $tournament["pricePerPlayer"] </font>'; ....more of the same code goes here...   ?>   I can't get $tournament["pricePerPlayer"] to be controlled by the font tag.  How do I do this? I am trying to create a table where the background color alternates between colors based on the category.  The query sorts the category in alphabetical order.  So for every category that is the same the background color will be the same.  When the category changes, the background color changes.  Alternating between two colors will be fine.  I am not even sure where to begin on the sort of loop.

So I want php to create a table like below:

Hi,   I'm having the following problem. I want to change the row color depending on the value of a record.   i made three different td class in the style.   Then i check the value of the record "TOEGEZEGD" and connect this to $NewClass,   The i try to change the color of the background.   $NewClass takes the value i want (check by display echo $NewClass)   But the background of the row doesn't change, i tried different methodes:   <td class = "$NewClass">'.$row['TOEGEZEGD'].'</td>

I want to have a marketing campaign which will send people to my site via this link:  www.mysite.com/index.php?ref=att

When people get to my site via the 2nd link, I want to show image "B" instead of image "A".

I put this at top of home page...

Does this look right?  because I can't get it to work.  It's showing image A regardless of which URL I use.  I have to be missing something obvious because I really thought this would be super easy to do.

If anyone sees any problems, let me know. But I'll keep testing and hopefully find my mistake.

How could I set the class to the page number - So for example if page 1 then background is blue, if its 5 then its green etc...

I want to set up the css but I need to assign the class to the page number.... (Or parent page number if the page number is not top level..)

I've making a script that's almost a todo list, and i want to have 3 colors to the posts.

Post under 7 days old should be green, and thoose older then 7 days yellow and over 14 days should be red.

ISSUE.
A User enters information into a form.
If the 'username' is already taken, a 'message' in Red and with larger font-size will be returned, for example,
"The username $username already exists."
If the username is 'mattd' then the message should say, "The username mattd already exists."

Within my php application, I have included 'inline html'.
Here is part of the code:   ....

Hello folks, 

So, not sure where to start, but I'm wondering if it's at all possible to change a prepared statement / sql based on whether or not we're displaying for desktops, or for smartphone/tablets? I'm not sure what to start looking at since I'm pretty new in PHP and all... 

I've managed to figure out how to change CSS if I'm on phone 

@media only screen and (max-width: 767.98px){
  // PUT CSS FOR PHONES...
}

Any directions on how I would change my SQL, would be awesome! I'd like to narrow down the columns returned if I'm on phone, otherwise breaks my pages looks too much...

This is what is in the first dropdown box.

These are the different lists I want it to put in the second drop down box depending on what they choose in the first.

Basicly how I need it to work is there are two drop down boxes. First they will chose between a,b,c,d,e. If they chose a then on the second drop down box I only want them to be able to select a1,a2,a3,a4,a5.

 

I've been thinking that I needed to build a database to store sessions in. However, seeing a post in another topic got to pondering if I really need it now.

My site is very small and as of now the login script makes the normal sessions variables, member id, display name, etc., and I've also thrown in http_user_agent.

If sessions are destroyed by logging out or by closing the browser is a session database really needed?

How much does site size matter? Say on a very small site (10-15 people a day, no money changing hands, just logging in and posting) or medium small site (50-100 people a day, no money ...) ?
