PHP - Creating Multidimension Array From Mysql Source And Outputting

Hi guys,

I am very simply inserting text into a table with php and mysql, and outputting it, it all works fine but when I use paragraphs when inserting it, and then try to ouput it, all the paragraphs are gone and it looks like one big block of text, I suppose the way to go around this is to use <br> instead of just enters as it probably doesnt read this, but is it possible to make this text area do read and insert <br>'s where people use enter to make paragraphs?

Much help appreciated, I realize this must be a very beginner question but I am not really sure how to word this so I wasn't sure on specific search on this.

Hello, this is my first post here.   I am trying to output the rows of a certain query in sequence after a POST has been requested.   I have been successful in getting the output in a pure php file but when I try to implement this in a web page with html/css, I can't echo the array in arbitrary locations after the post has processed.   This is the code which outputs successfully in a pure php file, but I need it to work in a <textarea> field as the results of a search

To further iterate what I am asking. When errors are stored, you write something like

$errors['username']="A username is required.";

Then in any location of a webpage I can call this or show it, provided by this

That is the same thing I am trying to do with this array which can be an arbitrary count of rows...   I have not been successful in getting this to work... I have been told of string concatenation...   I don't know what to do       Thank you for any help

I originally had the $rowFleetDetails['charId'] and others in the echo instead of loading them into variables then echoing the variables but changed it to see if that was working, neither is. If I add an extra line outside of the while loop to echo the output of the array then the information is displayed fine, so I know that the information is being transferred from the table into the array correctly, but why is it not outputting properly in the While loop?

I'm outputting my DB to a table. I want to include a JOIN so the table shows name, email, and company (which is in a different table). Not sure where to put the join.
2 other things I'd like to do:
Not all users have email and I want any NULL to output as N/A instead of NULL.
Would like the rows to alternate background color between white and blue for each row.
Any hints appreciated.

How do i prevent the ' from causing me this issue?

I have a Q&A Form/script where registered Users can share there thoughts on 10 Questions.

On the backend I have these tables:  member, answer, question

Thanks to some help last night, I have been able to do a LEFT join and store the above data in a multi-dimensional array which always stoes the 10 Questions, and also any Answers that the User may have responded to.  (Questions are optional.)

I am having a hell of a time DISPLAYING this multi-dimensional array.

The key is that I want my PHP and array to stay at the top of my script and use minimal PHP in my HTML section.

Here is how I query the data and build my array...

I am able to retrieve and display the Questions from my multi-dimensional array as seen above, however, for the life of me, I cannot get the Input Fields (with any Answers) to work properly.  I either get compile errors, or the code runs but my Input Fields are blank even when an Answer should be displayed?!

 

I am hoping this is just a syntax and/or reference error.  I'm still new to arrays, so properly retrieving an Answer from a multi-dimensional array is really tricky for me!!

So close and yet so far away?!

Can someone please help me out??

I'm a beginner to PHP and am stuck as to how I can fetch data from a MYSQL database and output that information in html to the website. Currently I get the information from the database using normal php:

$result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM truffleProducts");

Then I assign each field from the database to a php variable in a while loop:

Then I just print each variable in a table using simple html and php. My problem is that it only outputs the latest element or row from my database. I want to output the database within a HTML template so that it is professional and tidy, but i cant figure out how to do that. Any help?

I have a script that processes data from a form, and then outputs data from a MySQL table based on which selections are made on the form.

What I'm trying to do is create columns showing data for each month depending on which months the user selects, and then a "Total" column at the end of that. The output first determines the "family" the results are in, then the ID the product is for the parent family, and then it outputs the data based on what ID is listed.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do this without nesting while loops inside other while loops which I know is bad for server performance - and yes this does take a long time to complete.  Here is some of my code for this to show what I'm doing wrong:

      This problem has been detected by me when I replaced my desktop machine with new one and installed a centOS again. This such a problem never happened before using my old machine with the same version of OS and libvirt. Just to be clear, a new selinux policy into a "domain machine" has been created to be able to use the "dbus daemon" to all containers and if I try to complile this stack from source using the "domain os" this problem never happens at all. All "Development tools" is installed to this particular container, in case someone asks me why I get the following error message - "configu error: cannot run C compiled programs" Any ideas?

I'm a first time poster here and I would really appreciate some guidance with my latest php challenge! I've spent the entire day googling and reading and to be honest I think I'm really over my head and need the assistance of someone experienced to advise the best way to go!

I have a multi dimensional array that looks like (see below); the array is created by CodeIgniter's database library (the rows returned from a select query) but I think this is a generic PHP question as opposed to having anything to do with CI because it related to working with arrays.

I'm wondering how I might go about searching the array below for the key problem_id and a value equal to a variable which I would provide. Then, when it finds an array with a the matching key and variable, it outputs the other values in that part of the array too.

For example, using the sample data below. How would you recommend that I search the array for all the arrays that have the key problem_id and the value 3 and then have it output the value of the key problem_update_date  and the value of the key problem_update_text. Then keep searching to find the next occurrence?

I've been trying to use that array to create a special "sub-array" for only the SKU numbers and just their new and used quantities and prices.

DESIRED RESULT:

Knowing that my SKU numbers are always exactly 5 digits, and no other $_POST keys will ever have 5 digits, I've been able to accomplish this with horribly convoluted and unsatisfactory code like this:

I am not the best at PHP and have been trying to work out how to make a treeview from an array.

I managed to get as afar as populating my array as i would like and I can get those values back but now im really stuck

What id love to be able to do is use my area field as the parent and my title field as the child and have a counter on the parent with no of child nodes.

If someone can help me out with that bit id be really greatful, as I ve already sorted my javascript etc this is my last problem and its driving me nuts

I was trying from days to create an array from a txt file by i can't make it happen. I am so desperate now and i want your help guys

The code create a txt file from a textarea feild after it's submited each on a line. After that the php code need collect these data from the txt file and create an array from them.

Example: if i type in the textarea:

test2

I want these usernames to be inserted in the array so it would be like this:
