PHP - Color Changing System
I have a system on my forum where the admin can change the colors of certain elements. Take the divs with and id of header for example. They can change the color of these and the value is added to the database. Then in my initialize file which is always called with every page, i set the color for the headers to the database value:
$color['headers'] = $row['headers']; but then i have to go to every header div and add <div id="header" style="color:'.$color['headers'].'";> this means doing this for every header div and i dont just allow them to change the font color, but also background color and borders. Would there be a better way of doing this without adding these variables to the style attr of the element? when i view the code in firebug there are alot of style attr with all of these variables and it makes the code look a mess, and also makes it tedious work to add these variables to every element. Thanks Similar Tutorialsi dont know if this is strictly a php problem, anyway... i have a query which returns rows from my database and then displays them in a table.. but what i want to know is how do i then get the bg color to change? Code: [Select] <?php if ($_GET['quantity'] == null) { $_GET['quantity'] = 20; } if (mysql_numrows($gold) != 0) { ?> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td>Seller</td> <td>Sellers Average Delivery Speed</td> <td>Price (per <?=$_GET['quantity'];?>M)</td> <td></td> </tr> <?php while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($gold)) { $seller_id = $row['seller_id']; $price_unit = $row['price_unit']; $order_id = $row['id']; $user = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE id='$seller_id'"); $user = mysql_fetch_array($user); $average_time = ($user['transcation_time'] / $user['transaction_amount']); ?> <tr> <td><center><a href="profile.php?id=<?=$seller_id;?>"><?= $user['username']; ?></a></center></td> <td><center><?php if ($user['transcation_amount'] <= 4){echo "Now Timing";} if ($user['transcation_amount'] >= 5){ echo $average_time; }?></center></td> <td><center>$<?= $price_unit; ?></center></td> <td><center><a href="offer/checkout.php?order_id=<?=$order_id;?>"><img src="image/buttons/checkout.gif" width="120" height="20"></a> </center></td> </tr> <?php } } ?> </table> Hey Guys! First off, great looking resource, looks like tons of helpful people here. Secondly, I'll upload the file I need help with. Basically I'm looking to change the color of certain words that don't show up well now that I changed the background color.. but there are so many things in this script I can't figure out which one to change. I'm trying to change the words across the top that are in grey, to a lighter color. The site is laughing2myself.com if you need to have a look THANKS! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Hi people I'm trying to show all my data in my database, and I'm trying to make the font color change after 7 days to yellow and after 14 days it should show up red. But it does not work, could someone see any error in the code? It turns up green all the time.. Code: [Select] while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $postTime = $row['date']; $thisTime = time(); $timeDiff = $thisTime-$postTime; if($timeDiff <= 604800) { // Less than 7 days[60*60*24*7] $color = '#D1180A'; } else if($timeDiff > 604800 && $timeDiff <= 1209600) { // Greater than 7 days[60*60*24*7], less than 14 days[60*60*24*14] $color = '#D1B30A'; } else if($timeDiff > 1209600) { // Greater than 14 days[60*60*24*14] $color = '#08C90F'; } echo '<tr style="color: '.$color.';">'; echo '<td>'. $row['id'] .'</td>'; echo '<td>'. date("d.m.y", strtotime($row["date"])) .' </td>'; echo '<td><a href="detaljer.php?view='. $row['id'] .'">'. $row['Navn'] .'</a></td>'; echo '<td>'. $row['Telefon'] .'</td>'; echo '<td>'. $row['Emne'] .'</td>'; echo '</tr>'; } echo '</table>'; I was trying to show different hex codes as background in a loop for each section of a list. Here's what I done Code: [Select] $rgb; $rgb["c1"] = "ff4c54"; $rgb["c2"] = "ff764c"; $rgb["c3"] = "ffde4c"; $rgb["c3"] = "c7f25f"; $rgb["c4"] = "33c9f7"; $i=0; $pargs = array( 'numberposts' => 10,'orderby'=> 'comment_count', ); $myposts = get_posts( $pargs );$max_count=0; <ul> foreach( $myposts as $post ) : setup_postdata($post); <li style="width:300px;background-color:#<?php foreach($rgb as $color => $hex) { echo $hex[i]; $i++; } ?>"> <a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a> - </li> <?php endforeach; ?> </ul> Ending up with just the white background.. and no change in the background colors. Kindly help hello dear PHP-Fans - greetings to you - and a happy new year!! i set up a WAMP-System on my openSuse 11.4 system. In order to learn as much as i can bout PHP i want to do some tests and write some scripts. Well the WAMP is allready up and running. Now i try to give the writing access to the folder mkdir /srv/www/ where the php-scripts should go in... i want to give write permission to all to all files in /srv/www As root I generally: mkdir /srv/www/ chown <webmaster usrername> /srv/www/ /srv/www/ should be readable and traversable by all, but only writeable by it's owner (the user designated as the webmaster.) can i do this like mentioned above,... Love to hear from you greetings db1 Hello everyone! I need a little help to get functions names from the GD library. first i want to say i have a little knowledge with GD library like create image with words and etc. So , what i'm trying to do is to take image and than take the color of the first pixel on the top left than do some function work and than set this pixel on the top left to another color. now , i know how the algorithm should look like , i just don't know what function i need to use to: take specific pixel color from the image set new color for pixel on specific place i'll be glad if you could help me with that , regards , Mor. i am trying to add a like system to my forum similar to facebook where it shows how many people like a post. this is my code so far: $like_list = ""; $likes = explode("|", $post_info['post_likes']); $amount_likes = count($likes); $ac_likes = ($amount_likes / 2); $slice = array_slice($likes, 0, 4, true); $remain = array_slice($likes, 4, $ac_likes, true); $remain_num = count($remain); if ($ac_likes >= 4) { for($i=0; $i<$ac_likes; $i+=2) { $like_list .= $likes[$i].", "; } $like_list .= " and $remain_num others like this"; } elseif ($amount_likes == 1 ) { $like_list .= "0 people like this"; } elseif ($ac_likes == 1) { $like_list = implode(", ", $likes); $like_list .= " likes this"; } else { $like_list = implode(", ", $likes); $like_list .= " like this"; } $post_info['post_likes'] contains data like: Code: [Select] user1|123456789|user2|123456789 where the number is the timestamp. unfortunatly $like_list prints the username and the timestamp when i would like it to only display the username. This means printing every 2nd element in the array starting from 0. I have seen this done with for loops but i am not using one therefore i am stuck. Any ideas? and is this the best database setup for likes? the post_likes column is added on to the end of the post table.
Hi this is my login script i do have the html if you need to see it please ask & i was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to tell me how i can get my ban system to work Thanks

Hi all I have been looking though loads of tutorials regarding log in method for websites (not APIs), and cant help find that they are outdated. So I am asking what is the correct way to create a log in system using php? Modern websites use JavaScript for asynchronous web requests so this requirement should also be catered for. APIs and mobile apps use access tokens which is very secure if implemented correctly. Can we use the token principle for websites? As the way I see it that most php log in systems use php sessions and they create a session and save some data in this session when the user successfully authenticates, however the session id is held in a cookie so if the cookie is stolen then they have access to your account. API access tokens are expired and refreshed periodically so is there such a implementation method for web sites too? Hey guys, I'm starting to build a website and I was wondering wether I should use a library template engine such as smarty, or use pure php, such as this tutorial - http://www.massassi.com/php/articles/template_engines/ Basically the website will not expose any of the users/designers to the designer portion of the website. I am scratching my head wether I should use smarty or pure php, even Facebook uses smarty, from what I have heard. I need some answers. Thank you all! I'm trying to build a login system and alot of the code is similar to what i used to make my news cms. basically all i wanna accomplish right now is to get the user input inserted into my database. I've already tested it out, and I get no errors, but like with the cms, the database isn't getting queryed. Here's the code: (process.php) Code: [Select] <?php $first_name=$_POST['first_name']; $last_name=$_POST['last_name']; $age=$_POST['age']; $city=$_POST['city']; $state=$_POST['state']; $country=$_POST['country']; $zip=$_POST['zip']; $birthdate=$_POST['birthdate']; $gender=$_POST['gender']; $sexuality=$_POST['sexuality']; $race=$_POST['race']; $religion=$_POST['religion']; $status=$_POST['status']; $about=$_POST['about']; $website=$_POST['website']; $user_name=$_POST['user_name']; $password=$_POST['password']; $email=$_POST['email']; mysql_connect("your hostname", "your database name", "your password") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("your database name") or die(mysql_error()); $sql = sprintf("INSERT INTO Users (first_name, last_name, age, city, state, country, zip, birthdate, gender, sexuality, race, religion, status, about, website, user_name, password, email) VALUES ('%s', '%s', '%s', '%s', '%s')", mysql_real_escape_string($first_name), mysql_real_escape_string($last_name), mysql_real_escape_string($age), mysql_real_escape_string($city), mysql_real_escape_string($state), mysql_real_escape_string($country), mysql_real_escape_string($zip), mysql_real_escape_string($birthdate), mysql_real_escape_string($gender), mysql_real_escape_string($sexuality), mysql_real_escape_string($race), mysql_real_escape_string($religion), mysql_real_escape_string($status), mysql_real_escape_string($about), mysql_real_escape_string($website), mysql_real_escape_string($user_name), mysql_real_escape_string($password), mysql_real_escape_string($email)); $result = mysql_query($sql); Print "Congratulations! I have successfully managed to get all products from the order, and traced on what spots those product are in the warehouse. It looks like this atm http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/7302/tableordereng.jpg this is the code i have atm (sorry i program in dutch, i hope its abit understandable) Code: [Select] <?php $query = "select * from `orderregel` WHERE `ordernr`='".$ordernr."'"; $row = mysql_fetch_array( $query ); echo "<table border=1 width=680 bgcolor=#FFFFFF> <tr> <th width= 100>artikelnummer</th> <th width= 100>productnaam</th> <th width= 40>Plaats</th> <th width= 40>aantal in magazijn</th> <th width= 40>aantal nodig</th> </tr> </table>"; foreach ( self::find_by_sql($query) as $user) { $query2 = "select * from magazijn WHERE artikelnr = ".$user->artikelnr.""; $row = mysql_fetch_array( $query ); foreach ( self::find_by_sql($query2) as $magazijn) { echo "<table class= order_overzicht border= 0 width= 680>"; echo "<tr> <td width= 100>".$magazijn->artikelnr."</td> <td width= 100>".$magazijn->productnaam."</td> <td width= 40>".$magazijn->magazijn_plaats."</td> <td width= 40>".$magazijn->aantal."</td> <td width= 40>".$user->aantal."</td> </tr> </table>"; } } ?> The problem i have now is, that i want it to do the following. for example someone orders 430 packages of Haribo Kers Cola (see imageshack upload). I first want it to empty spot 16 in the wherehouse. Only when spot 16 is empty, i want it to go to the next spot (19) wich contains the same product. the end result would be something like this: http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6246/tableorderneweng.jpg i hope you guys can help me out on this one, becouse i have no clue how i can resolve this problem thanks in advance (Sorry btw for my bad english ) i am making a private messaging system like hotmails where the message list appears on the left. Then when you click on one of them the box on the right loads the email. The problem is i dont really know how to go about it. Anyone have any pointers? I already have a web based RPG game I am developing. Here is a small video to showcase the loot animation.
My problem is, I want to add combat. I will be using html 5 websockets. I already have a websockets server up so multiplayer isn't the issue.
A good combat system I found is on this game:
http://treasurearena.clay.io/
I'm not going to dig out the source code, and try to extract the combat system from this game. Just trying to find something similar that I can use, does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks!
Edit: It can be as simple as swinging a freaking sword and moving. That's all I really want, I just don't want the boring 'click', 'click', and 'click' bullshit.
<form action='index.php' method='POST' enctype='multipart/form-dat'> <select name='votes'> <option>SEATOWN</option> <option>vote1</option> <option>vote2</option> <option>vote3</option> </select> <input type='submit' name='vote' value='Vote'> </form> <?php $vote=$_GET['votes']; if(isset($_POST['vote'])) { echo "voted"; echo $vote; } ?> why would this not echo out anything for $vote??? cheers matt Looking for the best way to set-up the db of a messaging system. Here's what I have so far (basically pulled from another forum), don't know if Table1 is even really necessary: Table1: id user_message_id recepient_id recepient_read Table2: user_message_id sender_id sender_read subject message created_at updated_at Basically it needs to function where, someone submits a message to the admin or moderator, the admin/moderators can review and reply, and then the user can submit another reply, and keeps going indefinitely. I want each reply to show up almost like a forum thread. How would I chain the reply messages to the original messages? i have an events script that displays upcoming events, and i just add the event in a simple form, stores in database and shows on my control panel, and the clients control panel ( only clients events ) firstly what is the best way to sort by date? i enter the date into a text field like 12-04-11 but this when sorted doesnt appear in upcoming first? then secondly how cani have it so, past events no longer show up so, if date = > today do not show? I've abandoned my old script and switched to this one: http://www.evolt.org/node/60384 I got it working on my site just fine (djsmiley.net/members/register - you can test it out if u want). i just want to know how i can put all of the code into the pages i created using my template. It doesn't specify how this can be done in the tutorial, which is why im confused. I've tried everything but keep getting errors. Help? |
