PHP - Select The Rows Like A Tree View
Hi,
I have the project where i want to get the structure like tree. My table structu Section_Id Section_Parent Section_Name 1 0 America 2 0 China 3 1 New york 4 1 Washington 5 2 Buffalo How to retrieve the records.. I need a structure like this in a select button: America New york Buffalo Thanks, Similar TutorialsI have 2 queries that I want to join together to make one row
Hello, I am currently working on a multi level marketing system requiring a lot of special features than the regular. It has 7 different levels with which you have move to the next level as your downlines qualify for the previous levels respectively. I am quite stuck on the tree structure. Here is how the plan details **1st stage** is 3 direct downlines only **2nd stage** 9 people from the direct 3 should qualify for 1st stage making total of 30, that mean 3 from 1st leg,3 from 2nd leg ,3 from 3 leg
**stage 3** ,9 people from the 30 should qualify for 2nd stage and it should fall on the direct 3
I need help with these first three functions and I will work the rest out. Building a separate tree view for each of the stages. Thanks Hello! I been trying to figure how first read a Google docs CSV (live) to be shown as a custom HTML. The CSV have 50 lines and each line have 15 cells. With a bit searching i figure out to this : Code: [Select] <?PHP $file_handle = fopen("https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Aus5xZRHSuhydGpmcXBRN0Z2WXM5Sks3TlgydF92R1E&single=true&gid=3&output=csv", "r"); while (!feof($file_handle) ) { $line_of_text = fgetcsv($file_handle, 1024); print "<custom code>" . $line_of_text[0] . $line_of_text[1]. $line_of_text[2] . $line_of_text[3] . $line_of_text[4] . $line_of_text[5] . $line_of_text[6] . $line_of_text[7] . $line_of_text[8] . $line_of_text[9] .$line_of_text[10] . $line_of_text[11] . $line_of_text[12] . $line_of_text[13] . $line_of_text[14] . $line_of_text[15] . "<br>"; } fclose($file_handle); ?> But what i would need is to view only the row that have the value "(T01S)" in the first cell "A2" or first "$line_of_text[0]" and the header (first line). I was thinking about just to show a "desired_line" would not help me as if i add a line in the middle many pages would show the wrong line. Also is it any easy way to show one full line except the first cell? So i can have a custom code on that field? And also so i do not need every pages code if i add more fields? After many hours of searching i would be very happy for any kind of help! what Im basically trying to do is just like a phpmyadmin function... you select rows you want to update with a checkbox and then it takes you to a page where the rows that are clicked are shown in forms so that you can view and edit info in them... and then have 1 submit button to update them all at once. hello, im only getting the second half of my results showing in my dropdown box. here is my code. Code: [Select] if(isset($_GET['id'])) { $uid = $_GET['id']; } $forward = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM players WHERE status = '1' AND position = 'forward' ORDER BY name"); $forward1=""; while($row1 = mysql_fetch_array($forward)) { $forwardid=$row1["id"]; $forwardname=$row1["name"]; $forwardteam=$row1["team"]; $forward1.="<OPTION TITLE=\"$forwardteam\" VALUE=\"$forwardid\">".$forwardname.'</option>'; } $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM picks WHERE uid = '$uid' AND pickid = 'forward1'"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $playerid=$row['playerid']; } if(isset($forwardpick1)) { $result1 = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM players WHERE id = '$playerid'"); while($row1 = mysql_fetch_array($result1)) { $forwardpick1=$row1['name']; } $forwardpick1="<br /><br /><font color ='#000000' size = '5'><b>$forwardpick1"; } else { $forwardpick1=" <form method='POST' action='draftpick.php' name='forward1'> <p><font color='#000000'><select size='1' name='player'> <?php echo '$forward1'; ?> </select><br><br><input type='submit' value='Submit' name='submit'></font></p> </form> "; } any direction is appreciated. How can i select the last 3 rows in a table and order it by ASC. When i use DESC it displays the results in the wrong order. $query24 = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM notifications WHERE to_id='$session' AND state='1' ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 3 "); So I have an array of IDs that I would only like to select from a database table instead of everything in the table. How might I go about doing that? Hello, i am trying to get my form to list usernames ascending as an option, but the select field just returns blank. Here is my code: Code: [Select] /** * editUserForm - Displays the users database table in * a nicely formatted field table. */ function editUserForm(){ $q = "SELECT * " ."FROM ".TBL_USERS." ORDER BY username ASC"; $result = $database->query($q); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { echo '<option value="'.$row["username"].'">'.$row["username"].'</option>'; } } Code: [Select] <form action="/" method="post"> <div class="column"> <p> <select name="user" id="user" placeholder="Select A User To Edit" class="{validate:{required:true}}"> <option>Select A User To Edit</option> <? editUserForm(); ?> </select> </p> <div class="action_bar"> <input type="submit" class="button blue" value="Submit Post" /> <a href="#modal" class="modal button">Cancel</a> </div> </form> All help is appreciated $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `friend_system` WHERE `friend_system_accepter` = '$myusername' "); echo mysql_num_rows($result);This displays the total rows in the table. $result = mysql_query("SELECT COUNT(friend_system_accepter) FROM `friend_system` WHERE `friend_system_accepter` = '$myusername' "); echo mysql_num_rows($result);This displays '1', which is incorrect. I want to echo out the number of rows where 'friend_system_accepter' = $myusername Thanks Hello folks,
In trying to improve the user experience for my first WebApp I have decided to create two new tables - one a master file to contain a list of all stores, and the second a master file to contain a list of all products that are normally purchased - and I would like to use the values from these two tables as lookup values in dropdown listboxes, to which the user can also add new entries.
As it turns out, I'm stuck on the very first objective i.e. to lookup/pull-in the distinct values from the master tables.
The problem I'm having is that the query seems to return no rows at all...in spite of the fact that there a records in the table, and the exact same query (when run within the MySQL environment) returns all the rows correctly.
Is there something wrong with my code, or how can I debug to see whether or not the query is being executed?
Objective # 2, which is to allow new values to be entered into the dropdown listbox, and then inserted into the respective table is certainly waaay beyond my beginner skills, and I'll most certainly need to some help with that as well..so if I can get some code/directions in that regard it will be most appreciated.
Thank you.
<?php $sql = "SELECT DISTINCT store_name FROM store_master ORDER BY store_name ASC"; $statement = $conn->prepare($sql); $statement->execute(); $count = $statement->rowCount(); echo $count; // fetch ALL results pertaining to the query $result = $statement->fetchAll(); echo "<select name=\"store_name\">"; echo '<option value="">Please select...</option>'; foreach($result as $row) { echo "<option value='" . $row['store_name'] . "'></option>"; } echo "</select>"; ?> I am building a commenting system, it's sort of like facebooks comments. I have it right now so it loads the first last 3 comments in the database, and then there's a button to view all comments. I have it working fine, except when you add another comment to it, and then click the view all comments, This is the script that loads onload showing the last 3 comments $limit = 3; $query5 = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM sub_comments WHERE status_id='$id' ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT $limit"); This is the php script that runs when you click view more //($start_id would be 3 in this case) $query5 = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM sub_comments WHERE status_id='$comment_id' ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT $start_id, 1000"); so to try to show you what's happening: OnLoad--------------------------------|---When you add more comments, (let's just say u add 1 comment before u click view comments)---- comment 9 --------------------------| comment 10 comment 8 --------------------------| comment 9 comment 7 --------------------------| comment 8 ------------------------------------------| comment 7 ----to be loaded onclick-------------|------What's loaded onclick--- comment 6 --------------------------| comment 7 comment 5 --------------------------| comment 6 comment 4 --------------------------| comment 5 comment 3 --------------------------| comment 4 comment 2 --------------------------| comment 3 comment 1 --------------------------| comment 2 ------------------------------------------| comment 1 (see how "comment 7" is being shown twice in a row) Can somebody please have a look at this. The Problem I am having is that only 1 entry for each month goes into the tree and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Code: [Select] $queryyp = "SELECT YEAR(date) as year, MONTHNAME(date) as month, title FROM monsterpost ORDER BY date DESC"; // query to get the rows you want in the order that you want them, with the year and monthname specifically selected as well $resultyp = mysql_query($queryyp); $last_heading = null; // remember the last heading (initialize to null) while($rowyp = mysql_fetch_assoc($resultyp)){ $new_heading = $rowyp['year']; // get the column in the data that represents the heading $new_subheading = $rowyp['month']; // get the column in the data that represents the subheading if($last_heading != $new_heading){ // heading changed or is the first one $last_heading = $new_heading; // remember the new heading $last_subheading = null; // (re)initialize the subheading // start a new section, output the heading here... echo "<ol class=\"tree\"><li><label for=\"folder1\">{$rowyp['year']}</label> <input type=\"checkbox\" id=\"folder1\" /></li></ol>"; } // subheading under each heading if($last_subheading != $new_subheading){ // subheading changed or is the first one $last_subheading = $new_subheading; // remember the new subheading // start a new section, output the subheading here... echo "<ol><li><label for=\"subfolder1\">{$rowyp['month']}</label> <input type=\"checkbox\" id=\"subfolder1\" />"; } // output each piece of data under a heading here... echo "<ol><li class=\"file\">{$rowyp['title']}</li></ol></li></ol></li></ol>"; } Hey guys i need to create a genealogy tree view in PHP and i have no idea on how to get started ... I am working on a MLM project in which i have more than 30,000 members followed by the root member,i have to store member automatically in binary tree form like 1 is root 2 is child of 1 3 is child of 1 Then 4 is child of 2 5 is child of 2 and so on ...... i have to design database for that. please help Hi, I wrote a piece of code for doing a recursive printing of all the leaf nodes. But it is not moving beyond one or two levels. Here is the code: $root = array( "paa" => array ( "adi1" => array ( "cir1" => array ( "aka", "ra", "vinodh","dkido" ), "cir2" => array ( "muta", "la" ), "cir3" => array ( "ezut", "telAm" ), "cir4" => array ( "ati" ) ), "adi2" => array ( "cir1" => array ( "paka", "vaV" ), "cir2" => array ( "mutaR", "RE" ), "cir3" => array ( "ula", "ku" ) ) ) ); function traverse($ar) { foreach($ar as $key=>$value) { echo "inside loop of ".$key."<br/>"; if(is_array($value)) { return traverse($value); } else { echo $key."==>".$value."<br/>"; } } } traverse($root); The output I get is: inside loop of paa inside loop of adi1 inside loop of cir1 inside loop of 0 0==>aka inside loop of 1 1==>ra inside loop of 2 2==>vinodh inside loop of 3 3==>dkido It does not seem to visit the other nodes. Anything I missed here ? V Hey guys, i am a college student and working on a project of mlm ad want to display the binary income tree, and also calculate the income that is given to each node. Please see the attachments for the binary tree structure and database table structure. Thanks. [attachment deleted by admin] I am trying to count left node of a binary tree.I made a function but my result is always 3 . Code:- Code: [Select] <?php include'config.php'; // Connect database function leftcount($node) //Function to calculate leftcount { $sql = "SELECT lchild, rchild FROM tree WHERE parent = '$node'"; $execsql = mysql_query($sql); $array = mysql_fetch_array($execsql); if(!empty($array['lchild'])) { $count++; leftcount($array['lchild']); } if(!empty($array['rchild'])) { $count++; leftcount($array['rchild']); } $totalcount = 1 + $count; return $totalcount; } $parent = "2"; $left = leftcount($parent); echo $left; ?> Can someone please point the error in my logic ? I searched google but i only got scripts with classes and i don't want to use classes. I am trying to display binary tree level wise. Breadth-first tree traversal can be used in it.Can anyone point me towards its logic or point me towards a good tutorial. |
