PHP - Php Mysql Compare Checked Boxes Help

I want to perform a query which returns a subset of the fields in a table.  One particular mySQL field is VARCHAR

I have a query like this:
$query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table WHERE code LIKE '3%') ;

It's my understanding this should return all values which begin with "3", but it only returns about a dozen of the values 3, 30-39, 300-399, etc.  (It works with string fields, but this field contains numerals.)

Any help appreciated.

I need to compare records in a table based on the 'datetime' field, like if the difference between time is less than 15min.

need to combine the records(rows) as a single resultant row until the time difference between them  is less than 15min and when a record's time difference is >15min that should return as another row and so on. Please find following sample table and the required output format

You can see 1st row in the output table having IDs 1,2,3,4 coz the time difference between them is less than 15minutes (it doesn't means time difference between start and end; it is actually the  time difference between current record and previous one ; ie; ID-1 and ID-2 have difference less than 15min and ID-2 & ID-3 have difference less than 15min and ID-3 & ID-4 have difference less than 15min, so those 4 records combine together as a single row also shows their start time and end time. Then you can see diff between ID-4 and ID-5 is greater than 15 min so it should display as new row, and so on)

How can I acheive above Output with mysql query ??

im developing a voting system where you can vote for multiple choices using checkboxes..
upon submitting the vote form, votecounts must automatically be updated.. values for votecount will come from the checkbox value 1.

I have the above code, where I would like to show the choice Drop-down box, depends on $name and $area match of the choice_info table. $name field and $area field needs to have any dependency and straight from the MySQL table. But, choice needs to depend on $name & $area. How can I do it without much using Javacript? I do not mind to use JavaScript, but prefer to minimal.

By the way, I will have some other input fields too. It's an input form but, one drop-down box will be depends on two others choice.

I have a simple (1 table, 14 fields) database. I'm using 9 separate search boxes from my search page :

There are currently 162 entries. Hitting "submit" throws them all out, same with valid input into any box, with the exception of "country" - example  : entering "F" gives 20results; "PL" gives 34 results.
Here's my code (to simplify, I only went down to the 4th box ('country' - the last and only one giving correct results).  I'm one sorry newbie.... please help !

Hey!

I have it so users can submit info to my site. They have to check some check boxes and radio buttons. I want them to be able to edit this information, so I want to have the data pulled from the MySQL database and have the correct radio button selected (and the text bolded). So I'm thinking some sort of array to check for each value in the database... but I don't really know.

There are a few groups of radio boxes and check boxes but here is an example of one.

I want to compare the tables from 2 mysql databases in a table.
This is what I have:

that will put make a nice table for me to see. What I'd like to do next is have all identical sql tables lined up.
So for e.g I have 2 arrays of table names that will look like this:

does that make sense?
Also is there a more elegant way of scripting what I have?

Can php be used to get two blog entries and compare them side by side, with a choice one which one to use.

I know the forum is supposed to be used to help with any code I have come up with but here's to taking a shot anyway:

I am in need of creating a php script that will allow me to input two different XML files and upon pressing "go" will compare these two files and save only the differences to a new xml file.

Thing is, I have no idea where to start. Are there any php functions that exist that I can use to do this? If not, cn someone help me create one? Would this be better handled in javascript? If so, how can I do so using a method similar to the above?

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

I run an article directory. I was wondering how I could check an article that is currently pending review against published articles in our database. What I am looking to do is to place the content of the body in the pending article into a variable. That much is easy and I know how to do that. Then I would like to use that variable to compare against other content in our database and have it output a percentage of how close it is to any other article already published in our database. Any direction our guidance with this would be so greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am trying to write an SQL to XML converter, so so far I have all the records inputted into the db tables, and now I want to append a child, but I don't know how to compare current row's field value with the next row below it, specifically I want to check if a current row is parent of the next row. I have already got the XML to SQL function working (some bugs but for the most part it's working)

So for eg:

Table edge is one of the tables that hold target node/source(aka: parent) nodes.
