PHP - Multiple Page Results.

Hello everyone,

Very new to coding - enjoying it but struggling! I think I'm trying to do something pretty common but I seem to have come up against a complete wall now and after hours/days searching the internet and reading books I'm completely stuck! I'm  trying to write some code to search a MySQL database of products, then display the results. For some search results there will be lots of products so I want to display 10 products on the first page then allow visitors to go to the next page to see another 10, and so on - a type of pagination, as they should then be able to click back to see the last page etc.
I've got to the point of being able to display the first 10 search results, but I can't figure out at all how to create some kind of page scrolling/pagination system.
Please, does anybody have any ideas??

Members can be in up to three different categories, primary, secondary and tertiary. What I would like to do is have all members show in the result of a query string that looks for all members in a specific category no matter if it is their primary, secondary and tertiary category. Example: If say a visitor is looking for all members whose business category = 5 it will find and list all members whose BizCat1, BizCat2 OR BizCat3 equals 5 Right now I have this query string that finds all members in the members table with a BizCat1 = to %s. %s is a URLpararmeter variable passed over to the page.

I would like the query result to also includes members whose BiZCat2 = %s or BiZCat3 = %s (the same value as BizCat1) which are additional fields in the table.   Any suggestion on how to do this appreciated.

I have a script that runs a MySQL query and loops through a bunch of results.   For each person's name, I have a short bio that I want to show/hide by clicking on the person's name.  I have a basic start, but I can't figure out how to show/hide them individually. When I click on someone's name, it shows/hides all of the bio's.  I do have an individual ID for each person, and could use that somehow, but I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how to accomplish that.  Any ideas?   http://jsfiddle.net/APA2S/3644/  

I have a simple (1 table, 14 fields) database. I'm using 9 separate search boxes from my search page :

There are currently 162 entries. Hitting "submit" throws them all out, same with valid input into any box, with the exception of "country" - example  : entering "F" gives 20results; "PL" gives 34 results.
Here's my code (to simplify, I only went down to the 4th box ('country' - the last and only one giving correct results).  I'm one sorry newbie.... please help !

Hi Everyone,

Well I have a bit of a problem... I have created a search page that I would like to return results from my MySQL database. However for some reason I can not get my page to display the results. Instead I am getting an error page. Below is the code I am using:

In addition to this, should I wish for a user to be able to edit the returned results by clicking a link, how would I do that?

Hi all, Im really struggling to build an update multiple records form, Ive built my table which calls all data i need from the db in a looped region which works fine I just cant understand how to then input these back into the table in the correct rows, if this makes sense? having problems getting checkboxes to display all reuslts when a user selects more than one check box say in the category section and one in the location section - see page http://www.partyco.co.uk/event-and-party-venues/ - submit to see reults page:

I managed to get it to display reults if the user only seletc either a right or left column option OR one of each - BUT not when thet select multiple categories and one location - and ideas how to do this ? putting it into an array perhaps - but how - new to some of this....

This seems to be a bit of a challenge but I am creating a multiple page form and on one of the pages I have a select field. I would like the user to have the ability to select multiple options but I am using some functions to move the data in hidden fields from page to page. I don't think my functions are jiving with my my foreach loop cause I keep getting an invalid argument error.

Hi I dont know anything about html nevermind php.. but spent the past several hours searching on the internet and couldnt find anything so last ditch thought i'd post here. Looked for php help in google and this phpfreaks seemed the most popular site.

ok here's what i'm trying to do. Browsing around the facebook trying to view fans. I dont like the little pop-up window it does because cant see mutual friends.. so i'll right click fans to a new window. Then you can see if anyone's got mutual friends. Only has 10 results per page though.. and when you click the arrow for next page, it stops at 2000. If you click next after 2000 it only has a link to the same page. Figured though to get past that if you manually type in the next number in the url where it says &start=2000. So then at the end of the url i'll change the 2000 to 2010 hit enter.. 2020 hit enter, etc.

Its getting kind of tiresome because this fan page i'm checking out for the city has 12,000.. and doing it 10 at a time is ridiculous. Thought there might be a &= thing i could type in the http url to show more profiles per page instead of 10. You know, like some pages have options to show more results per page.. well i looked around checking what the url says for sites that have that option, but it seems like its different for each page they make. You'd think there'd be a standard ?= thing for however many profiles per page. I thought of maybe opening a saved facebook fan results page and opening it with an html editor and looking for 10 to see what text it writes in there showing what code it is that determines the 10 per page.. but theres nothing. Probably cant get it to show more than 10 profiles per page. Anyways, just last-ditch posting maybe you guys would know more about that. Probably cant do anything about it and i'll have to manually type in each ten increment ten thousand times and hit enter.

I have a simple form which sends results (using php) to my email. It works fine.

I want to make a similar form, and send the results not to email but to another web page, showing a summary of the form results, so user can check if all is entered correctly before continuing.

Can anyone advise if this is possible and how.

Hello. I am having a hard time building my own search results page for my mysql database. Basically I am trying to search for game categories from the fldCategory field in the table, and display 15 results at a time in an HTML table with the Image of the games (fldIconMedium), and the titles of the games (fldTitle) placed in to the table. Also, at the bottom of the table would have a number bar that you can click on numbers to go to the next set of search results in the same page. The number bar would have Previous and Next button.

I am expecting the games search results page to look like this: http://netroxy.com/51274581336/search.htm

So basically its:

- viewing how many games found for game category, ex: Skills. Or Action, Mind, etc..

- the URL containing 'gameslist.php?cat=' with the given ID category at the end should search for that given category and display at least 15 games per results, along the number bar bellow, which counts how many are found from that category, which automatically increases or decreases the number bar bellow depending how many games from that specific category was found. I also forgot to mention that I did not add the Previous and Next button, which i dont know how   

- As for the 15 results per page, its basically 15 images (fldIconMedium) of different games of the same category, with their Titles (fldTitle) underneath them and both image and title should have the LINK to that specific game by retrieving the links from the 'fldLink' column where all the links of the games are found.

Hi,

I was just wondering if it were possible (and if so how) to open a page in a new window when submitting a form via php? E.g. I have a poll on my website that is directed to the reults page by $insertGoTo = "results.php";. This all works but what I want to happen is for when the user clicks submit that the results page displays in a new window (or at the very least a new tab), similar to what would happen when you put a target=_blank on a html link.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.
