PHP - Php Dynamic Directories

I have written a piece of code that create a directories, files on the server using mkdir and touch and also inserts the form data into the table.. the code gets executed and the info gets stored in the database but the part which has the create directories. and files dont work as it doesnt create the directory and files on the server.. do i need to make changes to the php.ini file to enable the mkdir and touch feature to get enabled? as i said the code executes without any error.. I dont know wat to do.. please any help would be appreciated!!

This is a fairly simple question, but the explanation of the question isn't... I'll do my best.

I have a site where my folders/sub-folders/files are arranged similar to this:

Root Folder -| Root-IncludeFile1.php

                    |                        |_Sub1-File2.php

                    |_Sub-Folder 3 -| Sub3-IncludeFile1.php
                                             |_Sub3-IncludeFile2.php

Hopefully that makes sense to everyone.  Anyway, I know that to include a file that is in the root folder in file in a sub-folder, I can do this - include("../includefile1.php"); -but I'm trying to include a file that is in a sub folder in a file that is in another sub-folder.  For example, I'm trying to include "Sub3-IncludeFile1.php" in "Sub-File1.php"  I'm lost on this because I can't get it to work.  I'm not getting any error messages except to say that the variables located in the file that should be included are not found.

I've tried to do this: include("http://www.mysite.com/Sub-Folder3/Sub3-IncludeFile1.php"); and it doesn't work.  Can someone please point me in the right direction?  Thanks in advance for your help.

How do I include a file that is located two directories above the file that I want to include the file into?

My absolute hosting path is /home/content/52/8840652/html if this would be of any use. I'm not quite sure about the PHP include functions.

Right now what i am doin is

But I also need to get the directories 1/7/4/7/9. It may be differ for different urls.
Can this be done through some form of string replacement or pattern matching method?

When I upload a zip file containing 2 directories(one called 'part0', and one called 'bad'), they get unzipped correctly and it gives no errors, however the fake directories(not called part0 or part1) I put in there are still there. Any Help?

Hello there,

I am pretty new to php and I was wondering if anyone can give me some input. Basically I am creating a search engine where I can search for words in certain files. I am trying to search using two or more words for instance a file may have the sentence 'the cat ran across the road', and another file has 'the road is long'. I would like to search 'cat road', and have these two files show up with each word highlighted. At the moment 'cat road' is being searched as just one string.

I have exploded the keyword, and i have broken the array into separate words but for some reason it is still not searching. Again I would appreciate any feedback.

I have created a table called directories. Now basically I have two fields;

dirID (INT)
directory (VARCHAR)

now I am fully aware this might sound like more of an SQL question but I have three physical directories:

db/images/web1
db/images/web2
db/images/web3

I have inputted them into the database but I was just wondering, how could I created a page which links those records to a directory. I want to have each row hyperlinked, with the output page displaying list of contents for each directory. How can I possibly achieve this please?

Hello, I have a .htaccess file set up to create directories and files based on my PHP variables.
That's how it looks anyway. It's really just some URL rewriting.

I'm looking to submit a form and use the code on the same page to handle the form via isset().
The problem is, however, that $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; redirects me back to the original base/index.php page, while nothing gets submitted.
I can sort of see why, but is there any way to overcome it? I could probably use the actual file and variable names, but that isn't very practical as I intend on using this code as a basis for a much larger scale. I'm not too fond of using external pages as sources for the form action either for the same reason. My intentions were to have everything handled on a single page.

Also, feel free to post constructive criticism on how to improve the code.
I'm rather new to PHP and will need all the help I can get.
