PHP - Server Date/time?

Hi,

The hosting provider for my domain confirm me that the server time is in EST (UTC-5). They also sent me a grab supporting that

server time is now:
----------------------
Sun Nov 7 02:20:01 EST 2010
-------------------

But when I use the following code, the output I get is has 1 hr difference (UTC-6)
echo date("d M, Y h:i:s A",time());

Output==> 07 Nov, 2010 01:20:01 AM

But it suppose to give the same time as the server, ryt? Can anybody please explain?

E.g. Is echo the same when viewed in China, US, New Zealand?

im wondering is there any easy way to echo server time and local time... without converting them from unix to timestamp

I am using this php to write to a text file to show me who has logged in and when:

The result I get in my text file is:

I would feel more successful if the name of the user were to appear on the next line down but I can live with that but I can't make head nor tale of the date.

I want it to say:
paul
13:59
13/09/2011

next user
14:00
13/09/2011 and so on
I feel I have done very well to even get that far really and wouldn't have been able to yesterday. I am frustrated to have reached the extent of my current understanding.

If anyone can tell me where I'm going wrong, that would be great.

I hope the php isn't too far off, and you can "read between the lines" as it were to see what I'm trying to do.

Is there a way to run a check on the server to see how long it takes for the page to get built, then print it to the screen?   I tried searching for it online for a few minutes, but it wasn't able to be found.  All I'm finding  on there is how to optimize the pages, but I want a simple time check performed on the page loading

Is there any way to have a field that will update any time its row is updated?   My situation is that I will have multiple devices writing to a database, and in one case the time that is being kept track of is important.  And the devices writing to the database are a bit difficult to keep accurate times on, so instead of writing the time from the devices themselves, I was hoping I could just have a field update itself. I know it can be done on INSERT, but I do not want to do an INSERT every time.   Thanks!

I need help with date, I have stored dates in my table in this format:
i.e. 22.10.2011 but now use timestamp to store dates.

Problem is with this query the WHERE clause will find dates in the old format
and I want to change that to the new format.

I have a field set as datetime and want to compare that field to see if it is older then ten minutes. Can anyone help I am having a brain fart?

I need help with my date & time string.
I need to edit it do show in a string + also use it for calculating things like when the date has passed.

The string is like this:

So i wanted to check if there was a function that can automatically convert it, so it would say for example:

But at the same time compare $string against server time to see if the date has expired?

The below dropdown will show dates/times every 15 minutes from 12am to 11:45pm for only 1 day.
I want it to show for 5 days, anyway I can do this?

I have a batch script that reads from a timestamp.txt file to determine the last time it ran and I need to modify that by two hours.
What happens is the script will run to look for changes in the county records and their server time is two hours different from mine.

I tried making a time stamp update look like $cur_timestamp=date("Y-m-d H:i:s", time() +14400); which is correct but it doesn't write to the text file properly.

Using the above fwrite($fw, substr(date('c'), 0, 19));
I get the correct results in the timestamp.txt file for my server time. I need it to be +14400

2011-05-25T08:27:51 would essentially become 2011-05-25T10:27:51 when it writes to the timestamp.txt

Hello Everyone,

I am on windows server and In my ini file server time zone declared as below

[server_settings]
date.timezone = "Europe/London"

but my application installed on another timezone eg: 'America/Los_Angeles' time zone.

using date_default_timezone_get() i am always getting Europe/London timezone as it's declared in ini file. How to get local timezone(wherever application is installed) here?

Hi guys,

Basically I am developing a page where the order status of customers are listed in a tabular form, what I need now is to mail these data to my email address at a defined date (e.g. 1st day of next month) automatically. I do not know how to code this since I am just self studying and is still a noob.
