PHP - How Can Check Variable Value Content Integer Or Not By Is_int() ?

Hi ,

I have a login page that i acces via www.mydomain.com/logib.php?last_visited_page.php
however the passed in variable last_visited_page.com is not always set .

once the login script has run , when the variable it is not set i would want jump to myaccount.php
otherwise jump to last_visited_page.php

How do i check for no variable beinf present and therefore jump to myaccount.php

I want an if statement that not only checks for the existence of a variable, but which also checks all the variables already created for one with a specific value. For example, I have a loop which creates variables, but I don't want it to make two variables with the same value. The problem is, using

if(isset(${'h'.$x}==false) && ${'h'.$x} != 3{



}

won't work since the variable equal to 3 could be named h4, whereas this one will be named h5. I hoped I explained this efficiently enough, sorry about any confusion. 

i am pulling the login date from the databases and i want it to check if the variable is empty and if it is echo Never Loged In and if it not empty echo the date

I was wondering if it is possible to check the content for a variable for a certain work.  For example say a variable called "$variable1" was equal to "one, two, three, four, five".  How can I check to see if the variable contain the word "four"?  Thanks for any help.

Hello, how do you search for a filename containing a date and then match it to a variable? Please note the filename may only contain some of the variable being matched to.

How can I check if a variable only has these characters:
- number (0-9)
- decimal point (.)
- positive (+)
- negative (-)
- dollar ($)

I tried is_numeric, but it doesn't like negative values...

I need to add the variable value to another variable. I have to accept numbers (including negative and decimals)...

ex:
0.1 = TRUE
-.1 = TRUE
12 = TRUE
1000.00 = TRUE
12a = FALSE

I have the following if statement:

if ((isset($select_category) == 'All') || (!isset($select_category)) && (!isset($most_liked))) {

The value for the variable gets taken from a drop down menu, which is a list of categories.

The problem I am having is with the isset condition check is that the variable is always set, but it does not consider the check for equality with the 'All' condition. Which basically means no matter which category I choose from the drop down menu, it always goes to this very first if statement, and does NOT go to the other elseif statement, and I think it has to do with the isset condition check, because without it it would work, though without it I am getting a notice warning, that the variables are undefined.

Any ideas how I can make it check if its equal to 'All' together with the isset condition check?

What I am trying to say is no matter which category is chosen, with the isset condition check, the variable is always set, thus the if statement is true, there basically seems to be a contradiction going on.

Basically, every time exists is called, it will only assign b to a if b  isn't already initialized.

What's the most effective way to achieve the equivalent in php? ternary?

i am updating records from database using ajax and javascript on php page.
The result is displayed inside a div (<div id="show"></div>).
Now i want to assign the content of the above div(say y) to php variable for further calculations.

How can i assign the value displayed in div tag to a php variable?

I am making  a website where writers can share stories.
One of the fields is other stories.
So I used this code to make it a array with the links in each f the items.

Hi, I want to be able to let user type in xml text and it will be parsed and uploaded to db, but it doesn't work, it just keeps redirecting me back to this form below!

I have already an online booking form. The Form works fine now and I would like to add on one more issue, but the code ignores what I want to check. I have 4 fields: arrival, departure, no. of persons and comments to check.

Scenario 1:

All field mentioned above are emtpty: Workes fine and message appears: "You have not provided any booking details".

Scenario 2:

If arrival (date_start) and departure (date_end) is entered, there should be at least an entry either in the field "comment", or in the field "pax". If not, there should be a message: "You have not provided sufficient booking details".

INSTEAD: The booking request is sent, which should not be the case.

The code is currently:
