PHP - How To Find Process Id From External Command And Use It For "loading" Page

I am executing an external command from a PHP script, using the exec function. Since this program can take more than 1-2 minutes to run, I thought I should use a "Loading page...please wait". What I need is to be able to get the process id from the external program that is being run and, when this finishes, I'll start outputting the results. Is there a way to do this? I basically have a database record that outputs to screen and I need the code in the <code> tags to be rendered to the screen. I therefore need it to go through the whole array variable from the db and change the symbols just inside the code tags. Well mysql doesnt execute php code thats held in a table. The easiest way for me to do this is just add the links without the code, & set up a function that will replace anything I set to for example in my case a link lookin like this: http://mysite.com/index.php?page=offers&blah=blah&sid= needs to look like this; http://mysite.com/index.php?page=offers&blah=blah&sid=<?php echo $_SESSION['login']; ?> so I would need a function like <?php $replace('sid=','sid=<?php echo $_SESSION['login'];?> ?> something like that. And I know its possible & I could create a function like this but honestly right now I am so tired after working 12 hours im lazy dont want to think to hard while I know there are a lot of people out there that have a function like this already. If you dont have one & dont feel like writing one for me could you atleast point me in the right direction so I dont have to think to hard?! Thanks!! I need the array to be numbered from 1 to how ever many fields that are needed in the form and have a mysql field name and the title of the field also in the array. 1, "mysql_field_name", "Title of form field" 2, "", "" and so on then the form will be shown based on the array. I'm a very new PHP user (as in, I just started today) and need to make a set of navigation buttons which will take the user to "next" or "previous" pages. I assume that the $_GET function is involved, but I don't know how to do it. It needs to work like this: If the URL looks like "http://website.com/page1.php" I need the "next" button (a href image) to change it to "/page2.php", and while on page 2, for the "previous" button to take the user to "/page1.php" and so forth. How can I cause the page number to increment or decrease respective to the href image being clicked? I am a newbie to PHP and don't know the lingo. As you can imagine it's quite hard to find advice through a search engine when you don't know the terms you should be searching for! So I'm hoping I can get some advice or leads here... I have a website using a zenphoto photo gallery. I've adapted the CSS/PHP though trial and error to suit my own needs, but now I am thinking of changing the set up of the web page. I've got 10 galleries in 5 "categories", like this: category1-s category1-w category2-s category2-w category3-s category3-w and so on... each category has 2 related options... What I already have is an index for all these categories, where a user can click on the link that says "Category1-S" and it leads to something like this ...zenphoto/index.php?album=category1-s That works fine, but what i WANT to have is a dynamic link on THAT page that will link to the related page. So on zenphoto/index.php?album=category1-s there would be a link that references the gallery "category1-s" truncates the "s" and adds "w" in its place, so the actual link would be "zenphoto/index.php?album=category1-w" On the page for category2-s that link would read "zenphoto/index.php?album=category2-w" and on the page category3-s the link would read "zenphoto/index.php?album=category3-w" The link would be dynamic and would reference the actual URL of the page in order to create the link. I have some trouble on the server front. My sites have been hacked, and I need to make sure I've eradicated every trace of this exploit. I'm looking for a way to search for any and all php files contained in multiple directories with specific names. For instance, I have found a commonality in relation to where these malicious files are placed, such as: Code: [Select] /some/dir/img/somename.phpor: Code: [Select] /some/dir/js/somename.php Is there a way I can easily (e.g. using ssh and the "find" command) locate all files ending in php but only found in directories named "img"? I can't seem to find anything that would allow me to do this with find, or with a combination of find and grep. I can't go directory by directory, as some of these img directories are created many levels deep, some even in .svn directories. Any and all help is appreciated. Hackers suck. But then if that is true, i have a php search box where i use AJAX object to to send all the input they filled in after submit. But after pushing submit the inputted values remain.
