im developing a voting system where you can vote for multiple choices using checkboxes..
upon submitting the vote form, votecounts must automatically be updated.. values for votecount will come from the checkbox value 1.

how to update the record of one table in which condition is that the it should similar to the other table feild only. e.g field of table1 will update only when the feild1 of table1 is equal to field2 of table2 in php??

i am new with web socket and in same time I try to make server and client communication for soccer manager application, and for this purpose, i need to create closed "chat rooms" or "games" where two users can watch (read game event) and menage (create) game event (make substitution, formation ... or if you want, to send message to server, that they make changes in formation) this game (room) mast bi secret, and only this two player can use this game for "read" and "write" events in game for example: Game no: 200001 between user A and user B in 14.05. when User A, and User B click on game no. 200001 they can read and write game event. PS: for now, i create basic chat aplication with PHP, jQuery and webSocket and in this app, all user see wath all other user do (public chat) and i want to make secret chat for specific user (already automate subscribed from server) All work with no problem (i work on this example http://www.sanwebe.c...ket-php-socket) How i can create chat room(s) and subscribe user to specific chat room? Hi,

I am in the process of creating a discussion board.  The have section in which someone can ask a question and add notes.  However, I am slighlty stuck on the reply section.  So I can display the question and notes.

I was planning to add fields "Answer 1" then "Answer 2" then "Answer 3" etc.  However, means I have to create upto 100 fields and create response boxes for each one.

Does anyone know if there is a simpler way to do this? 

Os I've developed a Message board. A user writes a message and then it appears on the message board. However When the user enters a message it isn't inserted into the MySql.

Also when the messages are entered manually directly into the MySql table they dont show on the site.
Can anyone see the problem.

This script works great as well.

Currently, the auto-refresh jQuery script as you can see if getting and fading in/out all of the rows.

Off of the above getrows.php script, is there a way after I could get only the newly created rows since the last refresh and only fade those in and out while leaving the others already loaded by the auto-refresh script to not fade in/out?

Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions would be unbelievably helpful.

hi guys, the problem is, is that all of the code works fine, however im trying to post the user to the leader board (leaders.xml) however it just isnt adding to the xml page and im not too sure why.

Ok, so I'm integrating a very simple message board feature into my site. The basic idea is that people post a comment, and have the option of replying to existing comments. I'm definitely not looking for a complete forum; just something that allows users to post and reply.

I've tackled the posting bit easily enough. I have a form. Users fill in the form and the message, along with user information, is sent to a MySQL database. The information includes the username(Poster), the message(Message), an id that corresponds to the topic in question(Messid), a unique ID code for the message itself (ID), and a number of other variables like date and rank.

I then use a while statement to bring up all of the messages that pertain to a particular topic; The output will only show messages that share the same Messid, and they are arranged in terms of descending ID:

 So far, so good. What I want is for users to be able to click on any one of the particular messages, and post a response comment that will appear directly below the message to which it responds. Any ideas how I might go about such a task?

So far, I've created a new MySQL table that corresponds to these "subcomments". Each subcomment has a "subID" that corresponds to the ID of the message to which it responds. By including a while statement within the while statement above, I can successfully list all of the subcomments that correspond to a message directly below it. The problem, of course, is that I have to insert the subID values manually in php_my_admin. I'm hoping there's a way for php to automatically detect the ID value of the message in question...

i wanting users to be able to update there email address and check to see if the new email already exists. if the email is the same as current email ignore the check.

Hi All...

I am facing some problem while coding chat system.....my problem is that whenever i refresh the chat page the last message stored in the url by the current user displays again....its showing messages from the other users also but its keep on repeating the messages of the current user logged in,in the browser.....i am using post for all....do i need to try something else or any new way etc....if anybody have suggestions and solutions for the above mentioned problem then please do help me out...thank you...
