PHP - Output Not Displaying Correct Value

Hi,

I'm inserting hours and minutes per user into a database where they have their own fields.
(userid, hours, mins)

I've a small issue when displaying the data.

When I run my query I sum the total hours and minutes per user which results in data such as the following

userid1 - 2  hours 15 mins
userid2 - 1 hour 100 mins

The query orders by hours and then mins desc

When I'm displaying the data (as I'm looping through the results array) I perform a calculation to convert the mins to hours so it now reads

userid1 - 2 hours 15 mins
userid2 - 2 hours 40 mins

so the webpage displays userid1 first when i want userid2 to be the first record displayed (Hours desc)

Can anyone recommend a solution to this ?
Will I need to create another table and update it as hours and minutes are being entered and display results from that table instead ?
Can I order the data after I carry out the mins to hours calculation ?

I am a complete novice as you will soon notice. Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong with this code. When I run the query in phpmyadmin it produces the correct answer. However when I try to output on my site with php it returns the result "Array".

I have a function which finds a list of companies associated with a country from a custom taxonomy. It finds their logo and creates an output which is all logos associated with a country, and the logo has a href to link to a company page. The code for this is:

The f_print function finds the logos, and their sizes. So the 'mainlogo' type is a pull down of the thumbnail at 200px size.

 

What I need to do is write CSS and PHP which will display these results in a grid, 4 colums across, and as many down as results from the array. At the moment all I can get is all the results in one column.

What tutorials would I need to write appropriate CSS to create this, and then is it as simple as adding the div prior to the echo of the $echo variable?

Hi friends,    Another security issue but this time its regarding outputting data from a DB to a browser. Please have a look at the code below which displays some output fetched from a DB and sends it to a browser.    1. If I just wish to display this output on a screen and not provide the user with any buttons or hyperlinks to interact with the information, would I still need to sanitize the output before echoing it to the screen ?    2. If I was to make at least one of the fields a hyperlink, so that I could then display some related information on another webpage, what security concerns would I need to address in my code?   3. If I was to add a button against each of these records, on each row, and then select some related  information on another webpage after processing the button handler, what would be the security concerns that I should address for the code below.    Thanks very much.

It's pretty simple to see what I am trying to do here. For some reason all results in the table are the same exact cityName replacing all existing records. The echoed results are correct. I've include a small dump of my table as well.

Well I have a script that executes a scan on a system set to run infinitely, and I need it to echo out a message each time it loops through, but I don't want it to echo out the message with the next loop message below it, and the next one below that etc... I've tried using the flush(); function and been messing around with that with no luck. For security reasons I don't want to release any of the processing code, but here is the basic construction of the script:

I am new to php and I need a confirmation if this is the correct approach for a code I wrote. Basically, I have a contacts.php page where I have a bootstrap table and a modal with some fields to add a new contact. I managed to write all the code, it works perfect but I want to know if this approach is ok.  The application will be much more complex and I don;t want to start on the wrong foot here. I have 2 files: contacts.php and add_new_contact.php.

First file, contacts.php:

Now, in form action I am telling html to go to add_new_contact.php where I wrote the code for inserting all the values to the database. When doing this, it opens the page and it stays blank because there is no html there. So, in that php file I added a redirect code to the initial contacts.php. Here is the code:

What is the correct way to use the backslash here?  I am using an ftp script and retrieving the brand directory name through url.  I want to catch it if they try to use \ in the url to list all directories.

Hi,   just joined today. I am using a variable to chose a template dependent on when the user is logged in it shows a search box or not if they haven't. As a php beginner I just want to know if this is the correct method or should I be declaring 'template' somewhere specific.
