PHP - Can't Open Local .php Files

Hi there,

Can anybody help me to write php/javascript code which will allow users to open files directly from web browser into desktop application? Here is the specification:

I have a photo editing business with many people working in Photoshop. I am currently developing a web based application (joblist) using Javascript and PHP which should allow the photoshop designers to browse and open files/images directly from joblist/web browser into photoshop. The reason I want this instead of browsing folder is that I have a database where I store who worked on which file, when and how long it took.

The concept is that, designers will select a file and click on start, as soon as they click on start the original file will open in Photoshop and there will be an entry into database (using PHP). Once they finish the task they will close the file and click on Finish button.

My joblist application will be published in a local server and the file will be open on a local network, so when they save the file it will be saved where the source file is located in (local server). The application should work in both PC and Mac.

I have already done all other part of the application except file opening directly from browser to desktop application functionality.

Anybody can help me to write the code (PHP or Javascript) which can open the file from browser (local server) directly into desktop application e.g. PHotoshop or Illustrator?

images in all folders and not those relating to

I need to add the FTP connection with user/pass paramaters.

then look in set http url, to get the file contents(images) and transfer to ftp server location.

I'm trying to open a URL using fopen() and I keep getting this error:

Failed to open stream: Permission deniedI can not work out what is wrong, it's not a firewall as far as I can tell.

So far I have managed to create an upload process which uploads a picture, updates the database on file location and then tries to upload the db a 2nd time to update the Thumbnails file location (i tried updating the thumbnails location in one go and for some reason this causes failure)

But the main problem is that it doesn't upload some files

And this does work on most files however it is not working on a 9.9mb png file  which is named "test.png" I tested on another 3.3 mb gif file and that failed too?

For some reason it returns the following

I have a simple question about file handling...


Is it possible to list all files in directories / subdirectories, and then read ALL files in those dirs,
and put the content of their file into an array?

Like this:

[SomePath/test.php] = "All In this php file is being read by a new smart function!";
[SomePath/Weird/hello.txt = "Hello world. This is me and im just trying to get some help!";

and so on, until no further files exists in that rootdir.

All my attempts went totally crazy and none of them works... therefore i need to ask you for help.

Not to say that this occurs in every php software out there, but I far too occasionally notice that the application is written with scattered php open and close tags, for instance

To me, it is extremely irritating.   Regardless, I see a lot of open source software written this way and I can't help but think that there must be some underlying reason for it.  Magento, for example, is written exactly in this manner.  The templates are infested with these opened and closed php snippets.  Obscurity is not security so I'm ruling security reasons out.  Maybe it is more efficient? -- But I couldn't understand why, if so.  It seems like that would put more of a drag on the system itself causing php to start and stop parsing continually and excessively, then again, I'm no expert in the field of memory consumption and other operating system complexities.   Honestly, in my opinion, it is stupid.  i would never write a program that way..   HEREDOCs are much more useful and eye pleasing than that awful <?php { ?>   I had the misfortune a few months ago when I purchased an invoicing/customer maintenance system that I didn't know was written for PHP 5.2 or something lower, one that allowed short tags; and thus short tags were used in the same manner as I've described.   Is this just plain disorganization or is there some deep-seated inner lining advantage that I'm not aware of?

I am using WPSQT plugin in my blog site .I code some files in PHP also.how to add that files in plugin files.  

I would like to use an external API, and access it with my 2nd IP address of the server.

Is this possible? And if so, how?

Example:
primary ip: 4.5.6.7
secondary ip: 4.5.6.8

primary ip is used to host several websites
the PHP script I made runs in CLI, I want it to access the external API from my secondary ip.

I have a weird error... (or at least i think its weird)

I have a project with 3 forms, and at the end(the last file) will enter all data of this form in an email and sent it using PEAR smtp email. On my local server it works. Everything - from testing all the mandatory fields in each form till the sending of the email. I also receive the email using @localhost.

When I upload these files to the server, every form with the testing of the mandatory fields and returning to that form, everything works, except the file where I test the last form and put all content in the email body.

On the server, as soon as the last  page starts to load, I get a Server Error HTTP Error 500. I really don't understand it, as everything works on my local xampp server.

Please let me know of places I can search for errors... like log files on the server or something like that.

I am having a heck of a time trying to get time right on my website lol  When a user logs in, they select what timezone they are in (UTC -1,-2,-3,-4,-5,-6....)  Now this is great an all, but with daylight savings time my times are off by one hour in either direction.  How do sites like this get times to work for users so easily?

Hi everyone,

The website I am working on is http://teemagroup.com/puyafolder and I have a global navigation with a drop down menu.

What I want to do is on the right side have a PHP code to pull sub-pages under the drop down menu that its in. I don't quite know how to write it.

For example everything under "Client Services" would go on the right side of that page. You know, to make it locally available instead of a drop down. And this code would work with all other pages. It would just pull what's under that page.

I've added some files for you if you need it. This is done in wordpress if you wanted to know.
