PHP - Get A List Of Unique Variables From A Script
I have a long PHP script that I didn't write. I'd like to get a simple text list of all the unique variables from the script -- all variables within the script that begin with $, such as
$_ADMIN $query $category $user $id $result, etc..... Any ideas how a PHP dabbler can go about this? I did a PHPFreaks search, but didn't find a thread on this. Thank you! Similar TutorialsHello, If I have this string: $tags="baseball glove face" (this can vary from 1 to 15 different words) how would i loop through and divide these into different $tag1=baseball $tag2=glove $tag3=face .. and so on (if more words) Thanks for help I have a mysql table which will store users email addresses (each is unique and is the primary field) and a timestamp. I have added another column called `'unique_code' (varchar(64), utf8_unicode_ci)`. What I would very much appreciate assistance with is; a) Generating a 5 digit alphanumeric code, ie: 5ABH6 b) Check all rows the 'unique_code' column to ensure it is unique, otherwise re-generate and check again c) Insert the uniquely generated 5 digit alphanumeric code into `'unique_code'` column, corresponding to the email address just entered. d) display the code on screen. What code must I put and where? **My current php is as follows:** Code: [Select] require "includes/connect.php"; $msg = ''; if($_POST['email']){ // Requested with AJAX: $ajax = ($_SERVER['HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH'] == 'XMLHttpRequest'); try{ if(!filter_input(INPUT_POST,'email',FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)){ throw new Exception('Invalid Email!'); } $mysqli->query("INSERT INTO coming_soon_emails SET email='".$mysqli->real_escape_string($_POST['email'])."'"); if($mysqli->affected_rows != 1){ throw new Exception('You are already on the notification list.'); } if($ajax){ die('{"status":1}'); } $msg = "Thank you!"; } catch (Exception $e){ if($ajax){ die(json_encode(array('error'=>$e->getMessage()))); } $msg = $e->getMessage(); } } I'm pulling data from an xml file and I'm getting a lot of duplicates. How can I remove the duplicates from the query? Code: [Select] foreach($xml->category->subcategory as $category){ echo $category[id]; }//end foreach so far I have: $crawler->filter('li.date, dt > a, li.style')->each(function ($node) { $output = $node->text()."\n"; $array = explode("\n", $output); $data = array_chunk($array, 3); // print_r($data); foreach ($data as $row) { [$date, $title, $type] = array_pad($row, 3, null); // here you have your variables print 'Date: '.$date; print 'Title: '.$title; print 'Type: '.$type; } }); and this outputs: QuoteDate: Saturday 13th Jun 2020Title: Type: Date: Alice in Chains UKTitle: Type: Date: Metal/ RockTitle: Type: Date: Monday 29th Jun 2020Title: Type: Date: Cage the ElephantTitle: Type: Date: Funk/ RockTitle: Type: Date: Friday 31st Jul 2020Title: Type: Date: The CureheadsTitle: Type: Date: Indie/ RockTitle: Type: Date: Thursday 20th Aug 2020Title: Type: Date: CreeperTitle: Type: Date: PunkTitle: Type: Date: Saturday 22nd Aug 2020Title: Type: Date: Fleetwood BacTitle: Type: Date: Pop/ RockTitle: Type: Date: Monday 31st Aug 2020Title: Type: Date: GZATitle: Type: Date: Hip HopTitle: Type: Date: Saturday 5th Sep 2020Title: Type: Date: Cock SparrerTitle: Type: Date: Only $date variable is set for each?! please help??

i am trying to use php to include a javascript onto different pages, and then "sort of " pass it a var.
The bulk of the code will be in an included footer php file.
The var will be set in the main page.
i have it working as follows: by just using echo 3 times.. the 1st with the first part of the script, the 2nd is the variable, and the 3rd is the rest of the script.
The same endcode.php file needs to also be used for pages that wont have a var set, and wont be using the script - hense the isset.
<!-- mainPage.php --> <?php $sion_gallery_id = '450'; ?> <?php include(endcode.php); ?> <!-- endcode.php --> <?php if (isset($sion_gallery_id)) {echo "start of javascript.......album/"; echo $sion_gallery_id; echo"/end of script"; } else { echo "var not on set";} ?> Here are the project of files: So the problem I'm running into is, while php ---> php is fine (it's recovering all of my variables, I've tested with echo), the problem seems to be where I have made a command ./createlisting.sh $itemno $title $header $description $image It reads in $itemno, $title, $header $description just fine, but it fails when I try to send an image. Again I've echoed it out and my $image variable contains the correct image name. When it gets sent to the bash script and the bash script sends it to a "log.txt" it only shows $1 thru $4, excluding the $5. When I try to use the img src to create the image on the page, the outputting echo on the page is <img src ="/images/" /> Which of course is going to result in nothing. What advice can you guys offer me? The below script gets the value $var = $_GET['Version']; that is sent from my C++ app. It then reads from the DB table the Version number entered in the table. Then compares the version number from my C++ app to the DB version number. Now I want to make the Version Number from the DB accessible to my C++ app. I want to be able to get the exact value stored in: $row['VersionNumber']; with my C++ app. <?php $dbhost = 'host'; $dbuser = 'dbusername'; $dbpass = 'dbpass'; mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) or die ('Error connecting to mysql'); $dbname = 'MyDbsName'; mysql_select_db($dbname); $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM Users"); $var = $_GET['Version']; while($row = mysql_fetch_array($query)) { if($var == $row['VersionNumber']) { echo $row['VersionNumber']; } } ?> Hello, I am new to PHP and would like to know what I am doing incorrectly. Why are the email and password variables not being passed to my email by the php script? Thanks.
Hello! I found this code from github. https://github.com/gburtini/Learning-Library-for-PHP and I want to know if its possible to add variables to it and what changes needed to be done to the whole script. $xs and $ys I want replace them and add two more. The whole code is he <?php require_once 'function.php'; function ll_nn_predict($xs, $ys, $row, $k) { $distances = ll_nearestNeighbors($xs, $row); $distances = array_slice($distances, 0, $k); $predictions = array(); foreach($distances as $neighbor=>$distance) { $predictions[$ys[$neighbor]]++; } asort($predictions); return $predictions; } function ll_nearestNeighbors($xs, $row) { $testPoint = $xs[$row]; $distances = _ll_distances_to_point($xs, $testPoint); return $distances; } function _ll_distances_to_point($xs, $x) { $distances = array(); foreach($xs as $index=>$xi) { $distances[$index] = ll_euclidean_distance($xi, $x); } asort($distances); array_shift($distances); return $distances; } and the function.php that is required is this: <?php function ll_transpose($rows) { $columns = array(); for($i=0;$i<count($rows);$i++) { for($k = 0; $k<count($rows[$i]); $k++) { $columns[$k][$i] = $rows[$i][$k]; } } return $columns; } function ll_mean($array) { return array_sum($array)/($array); } function ll_variance($array) { $mean = ll_mean($array); $sum_difference = 0; $n = count($array); for($i=0; $i<$n; $i++) { $sum_difference += pow(($array[$i] - $mean),2); } $variance = $sum_difference / $n; return $variance; } function ll_euclidean_distance($a, $b) { if(count($a) != count($b)) return false; $distance = 0; for($i=0;$i<count($a);$i++) { $distance += pow($a[$i] - $b[$i], 2); } return sqrt($distance); } I just want to know where is the variables in those 2 scripts and add more as I'm not well versed in using PHP. Thank you! I'm trying to use this php to clear out the session variables and return to the index page. However it's not clearing them out. Any ideas? logout.php Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); unset($_SESSION['user_id']); unset($_SESSION['username']); session_destroy(); header("Location: http://aaronhaas.com/pitchshark6/index.php?vid_id=1"); ?> then in my navigation I'm using this code to either display their username and a logout link to logout.php or if they are not logged in display a sign in link. Code: [Select] <?php // if logged in if (isset($_SESSION['user_id'])) { // display echo "<a href='#'>".$_SESSION['username']."</a> "; echo "<a href='scripts/logout.php'>Log Out</a> "; } // if not logged in else { // display login link echo "<a href='login.php'>Sign In</a>"; } ?> here is my super simple login script Code: [Select] $username = $_POST['username']; $password = $_POST['password']; //Check if the username or password boxes were not filled in if(!$username || !$password){ //if not display an error message echo "<center>You need to fill in a <b>Username</b> and a <b>Password</b>!</center>"; }else{ // find user by username and password - working $userQuery = 'SELECT * FROM users WHERE user_name ='.'"'. $username.'" AND password='.'"'. $password.'"' ; $users = mysql_query($userQuery); $user = mysql_fetch_array($users); $_SESSION['user_id'] = $user['user_id']; $_SESSION['username'] = $user['username']; header("Location: http://aaronhaas.com/pitchshark6/index.php?vid_id=1"); } Hey guys,
I'm using the following pagination script from a website I found. I'ts basically a pagination script that takes data from a MySQL database and displays a certain number of sets before placing the next set on a new page.
This script works great if I substitute a static value for the data I want returned but If the request is stored in a $POST variable like from an HTML form the data refuses to paginate. It will render the first set of data but will not paginate the rest and only shows blank pages
I'm thinking it has something to do with the $POST variable not being set or carrying over to each page but I'm not sure.
I truly appreciate the help!

I am looking to create a Wish List using cookies without using MySql and without the user having to register but i don't use cookie very often and i am not sure where to start, Any ideas or help would be appreciated? Nothing fancy, I am just looking for a simple php script that would check a text file on my server that has a bunch of domains in it. I want the script to ping a random 5 or 10 sites in the list, and then redirects the visitor to the fastest one, or at least one that responds, and is not down. If all that are checked are down, then it would need to recheck the list. I want it to pick random domains out of the list, as I don't want users directed to the same site(s) all the time, just because it pings the best. When I say ping, I am talking about making sure the user isn't directed to a website that is down, or a slow loading website. I am not sure if "ping" is the correct word for that tho? Can anybody offer me code like this for free, or is this type of request getting into something that would need to be paid code? (and if so, any idea how much? I didn't post this in the freelancing forum, because it sounds like it might be something simple to code. I am not a coder, so I am looking for something complete that I can add to a php file and it works. Thanks for any code, pointers/problems with this idea, or price quotes (if necessary) on this little script I am looking for. does anyone know how to decode this XML variable value into string values? Hi, In my mysql database i have a text input option, in the registration form and edit my details form i have a multiple select dropdown list, which user selects options to populate the text input box, which ultimately populates the text field in the mysql database. All works perfectly. The dropdownlist consists of 3 parts <optgroups> first is current selection (what is the usesr current selection)works fine, The second <optgroup> is existing words, what words we(the site) have given as options, and the third <optgroup> is the words that others have used. This is where im having a small problem. Because its a text field when i call the data from the database, it calls the entire text box as a single option in my select list.. I want to break the words in the text field (at the comma) and have them listed each one as an option in the select list. Example what i need: Words in text box:(my input allows the "comma") word1, word2, word3, word4, word5, word6, How i want them called/displayed: <option value=\"word1\">word1</option> <option value=\"word2\">word2</option> <option value=\"word3\">word3</option> <option value=\"word4\">word4</option> <option value=\"word5\">word5</option> <option value=\"word6\">word6</option> here's my code: $query = "SELECT allwords FROM #__functions_experience WHERE profile_id = '".(int)$profileId."' LIMIT 1"; $original_functionsexperience =doSelectSql($query,1); $query = "SELECT allwords FROM #__functions_experience WHERE profile_id = '".(int)$profileId."' LIMIT 1"; $functionsexperiencelist=doSelectSql($query); $funcexpList ="<select multiple=\"multiple\" onchange=\"setFunctionsexperience(this.options)\">"; foreach ($functionsexperiencelist as $functionsexperienceal) { $selected=""; if ($functionsexperienceals->allwords == $original_functionsexperience) $selected=' selected="selected"'; $allwords=$functionsexperienceal->allwords; $funcexpList .= "<optgroup label=\"Current selection\"> <option value=\"".$allwords."\" ".$selected." >".$allwords."</option> </optgroup> <optgroup label=\"Existing Words\"> <option value=\"existing1,\">existing1</option> <option value=\"existing2,\">existing2</option> <option value=\"existing3,\">existing3</option> <option value=\"existing4,\">existing4</option> <option value=\"existing5,\">existing5</option> <option value=\"existing6,\">existing6</option> </optgroup> <optgroup label=\"Others added\"> //heres problem <option value=\"".$allwordsgeneral."\">".$allwordsgeneral."</option> </optgroup>"; } $funcexpList.="</select>"; $output['FUNCEXPLIST']=$funcexpList; The result im getting for optgroup others added: word1, word2, word3, word4, word5, how can i get it like this: <option value=\"word1\">word1</option> <option value=\"word2\">word2</option> <option value=\"word3\">word3</option> <option value=\"word4\">word4</option> <option value=\"word5\">word5</option> <option value=\"word6\">word6</option> ok so i have an array which has duplicate values in it. i used array_unique() to remove duplicate values. the array had values 1,2,2,3. after the following code: $unique = array_unique($suggest); $size = count($unique); for ($x=0;$x<=$size;$x++) { echo $unique[$x]; echo "<br>"; } it prints out 1,2 and then gives an error, "Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in E:\wamp\www\Copy of pro2\Classes.php on line 1074" and then finally 3. any ideas how i can solve this. im assuming that array_unique() assigns the index 0,1,3 of the duplicate value array to unique array at the same indexs 0,1,3. since the index 2 of duplicate array is a duplicate value it is ommited but the unique array does not have an array at index 2. Hey everyone. I have been working on a cart for my site and I've reached an impasse. I coded up the cart, the add to cart, the delete from cart and the subtract from cart. Problem is I now see a need to put an image for everything that is added to the cart. I think i have devised a way to do it with frames, the left frame being the cart and the main frame is purely for the images. I am having trouble getting the code right between the two pages to work. I need a picture on the right of every item added to the cart. Here is the url for the cart: http://www.theblack44s.com/Merchant%20pages/index3.php I know this kind of thing can get extensive and I don't mean to take up any more of your time than necessary so if there are any suggestions or ideas of where I can find this information to learn it that would be just as good. Hey thanks for your time! A Hi, I just need someone to check that a couple of lines I've written do what I believe them to do... i.e. check my logic! I'm developing a booking form for booking on events. Each booking needs a unique reference, which needs to be meaningless to the customer, so I am BASE36 encloding it. As the booking is be saved to a MySql database, my approach is to use the auto-incremented ID for the record to make the reference unique. The increment starts at 10000, and I add a random number before coding to make the encoded reference longer. I then BASE36 encode it to make it appear random. Am I right in thinking the reference produced WILL be unique ... provided the auto-inc ID is unique? $ref = rand(100,999) . $auto_incremented_id; //e.g. 354 & 10012 = 35410001 $ref_encoded = strtoupper(base_convert($rand, 10, 36)); // e.g.UD4J8P Thanks |
