PHP - Html From + Php + Mysql Fault - Suspected Fault In Php
Greetz,
I am trying to write a simple newsletter sign up form using HTML FORM + PHP + MySQL. I seem to be having a problem getting it working and I suspect the issue is in my PHP code and was wondering if someone could take a look at it for me to see if they can spot any obvious mistakes. <?php $link = mysql_connect('localhost', 'testuser', 'pass1'); if (!$link) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } echo 'Connected successfully'; mysql_select_db("testdb", $link); $sql="INSERT INTO newsletters(mens) VALUES ('$_POST[e-mail]')"; if (!mysql_query($sql,$link)) { die('Error: ' . mysql_error()); } echo "Done!"; mysql_close($link); ?> Note: My SQL Database is named "testdb", I have a table called "newsletters" and a field called "mens". Kind regards. Similar TutorialsHi, I have been running a stream of PHP scripts using cron. Most of the sites are working perfectly except one. That is getting failed only when invoked using cron. It works fine, when invoked normally in a webpage. It gives me the below error message. /bin/sh: line 1: 3430 Segmentation fault I have a similar code (99% same execution steps - 1% change in names) that is executed properly in cron. I'm really confused on why the segmentation error happens only for a particular site, even though its clone is working properly in cron. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks, Ursvmg Hi, Have a project, http://ziz.im URL Shortener. For some reason, shortened youtube links don't work. When used, they go to the youtube page, displaying a message saying the video is not available. But it's the same link (once redirected) as the original link. Any idea what could be causing this ? I am trying to protect my queries to check the user's ip address to make sure they are not banned... When I comment out the if statement in $db->query the error goes away... The checkIp function works in other instances, I am just trying to call it so nobody can inject things by trying to go around the actual pages... my db function class looks like this: Code: [Select] class dblib { function query($sql) { if ($this->checkIp($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']) == true) { die("GH".$ip); // Used to see if I can get that far... $result = mysql_query($sql) or die("Database error: " . mysql_error() . "<br /><br /><h2>SQL</h2><p>$sql</p>"); return $result; } else { die("<h1>Banned</h1>"); } } /// .......some other functions function checkIp($ip) { $sql = "SELECT * FROM block WHERE ip='$ip' LIMIT 1 "; $result = $this->query($sql); if (mysql_num_rows($result) == 0) return true; else return false; } Hi, Help would be very appreciative I am doing some preliminary testing for future projects. A company we are working with supplied us with a wsdl file to communicate with their system. I want to use PHP to run functions in the wsdl file but I got stuck after calling a function and I get no response back. Below is my test snippet PHP code. Below the PHP code is the wsdl file (also attached change the extension from .txt to .wsdl before using it). When I run the php code from command line (linux server) I get a "Segmentation fault" back. I am assuming that the error is coming from the wsdl file. I am not high fly on wsdl code and I would not really know what I'm doing if I started chopping and dicing the wsdl file. <?php $client = new SoapClient("http://172.21.1.24:7070/comactivity/axis2services/OrderEntryWebService?wsdl/"); //if the wsdl exist locally use //$client = new SoapClient("file.wsdl"); //echo The biggie is $db->query($sql) function. EVERYTHING that goes to the database goes through this function, and I want to add some security... I have a another function in the db class, checkIp($ip) that checks to see if the ip is in the block list or not. Whenever I update the code (from the simple $result = mysql_query()... and return $result to have the if..else statement, I get a signal Segmentation fault... Any ideas? Code: [Select] class dblib { function query($sql) { if ($this->checkIp($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'])) { //die("GH"); // For testing... $result = mysql_query($sql) or die("Database error: " . mysql_error() . "<br /><br /><h2>SQL</h2><p>$sql</p>"); return $result; } else { die("<h1>Banned</h1>"); } } function checkIp($ip) { $sql = "SELECT * FROM block WHERE ip='$ip' LIMIT 1 "; $result = $this->query($sql); if (mysql_num_rows($result) == 0) return true; else return false; } } Say I have the following text stored in a MySQL database... Code: [Select] <b>Classic Quote from movie</b> and I retrieve it into a variable called $text, how do I properly echo that so that it keeps the bold tags and actually display the text "Classic quote from movie" in BOLD? I'm doing something wrong somewhere along the line (simply doing "echo $text;") because it displays on the page as... Code: [Select] <b>Classic Quote from movie</b> Instead of... Classic Quote from movie Any info on properly storing and echoing back HTML would be very appreciated. Is it possible to add HTML Code into a database using a hidden input?... I want to add a hidden input to a register form so on the members list everyone has an automatic group display as 'Registered User' but I want the text in colour and the best way I could think of is to have <font color=>Registered User</font> inserted into the database, that way no matter where I display the group of a certain user its always the same colour, but obviously input is html so it just changes the colour of the value instead of including the html in the value. How could I get around this?... Not sure I explained that so well, lemme know if I didnt. Hi all, I'm new to php/myslq and I'm going crazy trying to figure this one out I'm building a personal calendar and I want to display the data into a HTML table. Code: [Select] //query the database $query = "SELECT * FROM tbl_events WHERE event_day=$day AND event_month=$month AND event_year=$year"; $query = mysql_query($query); //build the table echo '<table>'; for ($y = 0; $y < 6; $y++){ echo '<tr><td>'; //insert the data here echo '</td></tr>'; } echo '</table>'; When I store the events into the database, I assign a slot for each one depending on the hour. I don't want to use more than 6 events daily, hence the for loop. The problem I have is how to I insert the data into the designed <td>? In a particular day I could have only 2 events: event 1 - slot 2, event 2 - slot 6. I want to be able to enter each event into its own cell I hope I'm making myself clear enough. Sorry for any English mistakes if any. The HTML im trying to retrieve is an iframe with a link and styles (code from amazon associates). Im trying to display links to specific products on amazon from the product page on my site. All data about the product is retrieved from the database so i have code to select the amazon link row in my database table but i cant get it to display. It says the html isnt a string so i cant echo it, fair enough. I have tried using the following code: Code: [Select] $get_buylink_sql = "SELECT mobo_buylink FROM mobo WHERE mobo_id = $mobo_id"; $get_buylink_res = mysqli_query($mysqli, $get_buylink_sql) or die(mysqli_error($mysqli)); while ($buylink = mysqli_fetch_array($get_buylink_res)) { echo"<iframe src=\"".$buylink."\" style=\"width:120px;height:240px;\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\"></iframe>"; } mysqli_free_result($get_buylink_res); mysqli_close($mysqli);I have also tried putting the whole iframe code in the database which didnt work either. The mobo_id variable works fine for retrieving the rest of the data and i need to get the amazon link from the same record. I hope i've put this in a way you can understand, but if not i'll try and explain better and give you a link to my site if needed. I have an HTML select that outputs the username(s) using the function get_admin_username() (The function is posted below) There is also a HTML form I am using to make this happen. (Also posted below) In other words I would select the user I would like to delete, and click submit which will then delete the user from the database. The problem I am having is I do not know how to pass values from the HTML select, or the form, or even use the submit button value. I am not sure If I need to create a function to achieve this. Basically I don't know what to do this at all for that matter. I thought I might have gotten close but I thought wrong, and failed. I was told (in the php irc) that my method was way off and wrong but was given no help after that. I’ve tried numerous methods and have had issues such as blank entries being inserted for each specified column, to the last value selected from the form being inserted multiple times, but I never get the desired outcome. Any guidance on how to insert from this type of HTML form? I know that there are issues regarding SQL injection - I'll worry about that later. I'd like to understand how to insert data from this kind of HTML form into MySQL, as i can't seem to find any guidance. There's plenty on how to insert from a standard HTML form i.e. where either every value is selected or left blank, but each entry corresponds to a column in MySQL which either receives a value or NULL. I'm really struggling with when a user can select more than one option from a list. Quote

I was wondering how does one go about showing results from SELECT query in columns in a html table. I have a list of products in a table, and would like to show them on the page in 4 columns. I have done many searches on google to try and find the sulution, but the majority of what im finding instead is about displaying a table from phpmyadmin as a table in html. If its a large operation to do this, I would be very happy if someone could poiint me in the direction of a tutorial maybe. Here is the code I have so far to display the products, but for some reason, it only show 1 row instead of all the rows from my table. Code: [Select] <?php $dbhost = "localhost"; $dbuser = "user"; $dbpass = "pass"; $dbname = "dbname"; mysql_connect ($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass)or die("Could not connect: ".mysql_error()); mysql_select_db($dbname) or die(mysql_error()); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM mcproducts"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $products_local_id = $row['products_local_id']; $productname = $row['product_name']; $thumburl = $row['image_from_url']; $productlink = $row['product_local_url']; $thumbnail = $row['product_image_small']; $currencysymbol = $row['product_currency']; $price = $row['product_price']; $flagicon = $row['product_country_from']; } ?> <html> <head> <link href="style/stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div class="displaybox"> <div class="productimage"> <a href="<?php echo $productlink; ?><?php echo $products_local_id; ?>"><img src="<?php echo $thumburl; ?><?php echo $thumbnail ?>" width="150" height="150"></a> </div> <div class="productdescription"> <div class="pro_name"> <a href="<?php echo $productlink ?><?php echo $products_local_id; ?>"><?php echo $productname; ?></a> </div> <div class="pro_description"> </div> <?php if ($flagicon=="Ireland") { $flagicon = "<img src=\"flags/ireland.jpg\">"; } elseif ($flagicon=="UK") { $flagicon = "<img src=\"flags/uk.jpg\">"; } else echo ""; ?> <div class="pro_description"><?php echo $flagicon; ?><?php echo $currencysymbol ?> <?php echo $price ?></div> </div> </div> </body> </html> Many thanks, DB Hi everyone. I've two MySQL tables (tbl_csv_input & tbl_qn_types). Table Details: 1. tbl_csv_input (qid, qname, qn_answer, qn_type) Primary Key = qid; Foreign Key = qn_type ref tbl_qn_types qn_type_id 2. tbl_qn_types (qn_type_id, qn_type_name, notes) Primary Key = qn_type_id Sample Data: tbl_csv_input 1 ; Ferrari is the fastest car? ; Yes||No ; T1 2 ; Which below features would you like to have in you... ; Navigator||Airbag||Seat Belt||Camera & Sensors ; T1 3 ; Which model would you prefer? ; CX||MX||SX||LX ; T2 4 ; Comments ; ; T3 tbl_qn_types T1; checkbox; This qn type is used for yes/no T2; radio; Multiple options but only one is correct T3; text area; Users enter input like comments The whole idea is to have a questionnaire displayed in a HTML table depending upon the question types (T1, T2, T3) In simple terms: You have a question and below it there are options. Some questions have check boxes and some have radio buttons and some have text areas. The problem I'm facing is with the column: qn_answer; and column = qn_type. I'm unable to make a loop inside a table which is already in a loop. Please see the attached files (which has the code I've written). TIA. [attachment deleted by admin] Hi, I have this script which I would like to use to build an html form from a MySQL table. The <input text................ writes successfully to file but none of the other form types are written to file when using the elseif command Also, I would like this script to carry out the file write foreach row in the table It seems complicated and i am not sure if I am going about it in the right way, but here goes Code: [Select] //// Create Forms from MySQL $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM forms"); while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ $field_label = $row['field_label']; $column_name = $row['column_name']; $field_type = $row['field_type']; if ($row['field_type'] = 'Text') { $stringData = "$field_label<input type=text name=$column_name>\n"; fwrite($fh, $stringData); } elseif ($row['field_type'] = 'Text Area') { $stringData = "$field_label<input type=textarea name=$column_name></textarea>\n"; fwrite($fh, $stringData); } elseif ($row['field_type'] = 'Select Menu') { $stringData = "$field_label<select name=$column_name></select>\n"; fwrite($fh, $stringData); } elseif ($row['field_type'] = 'Checkbox') { $stringData = "$field_label<input type=checkbox name=$column_name></textarea>\n"; fwrite($fh, $stringData); } fclose($fh); As always, any help is much appreciated
Hello, I have the problem that only one user is displayed in the table require('connection/db1.php'); // Teilnehmerliste $query = 'SELECT * FROM convoy_part WHERE user_convoy= :I'; $start = $bdd->prepare($query); $start->execute(array(':I' => $_GET['id'])); //fetch $result2 = $start->fetch(); // Zählung der Datensätze $count = $start->rowCount(); <table class="table"> <thead> <tr> <th scope="col">User</th> <th scope="col">Datum</th> <th scope="col"><a class="btn btn-primary" href="convoy_user.php?id=<?php echo $result['id']; ?>&action=part" role="button">Teilnehmen</a></th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <th scope="row"><?php echo $result2['name']; ?></th> <td><?php echo $result2['date']; ?></td> </tr> </tbody> </table>
Hello guys, I am a new programmer and i am building a new website. I would like to give me your advice for the following problem: I want to build a webpage, in which there will be a <div id="book-content"> ...............</div> part. Inside this div i would like to dynamically display pages from a book. Each page will have text, scripting code blocks, blocks with the output of each scripting code, and images. There will be a bar on the left of the webpage in which the user can select which page of the book he wants to load. For example...My web page will look something like this... Code: [Select] <HTML> <HEAD> </HEAD> <BODY> <DIV ID="PAGE-HEADER"> //LOGO OF THE WEB PAGE </DIV> <DIV ID="PAGE-MENU"> //PAGE MENU </DIV> <DIV ID="BOOK-INDEX" WITH FLOAT:LEFT > //HERE A WILL SHOW THE CHAPTERS OF THE BOOK AND THE PAGES OF EACH CHAPTER </DIV> <DIV ID="BOOK-PAGE"> //THE PAGE SELECTED FROM THE PREVIOUS 'BOOK-INDEX' MENU WILL BE DISPLAYED HERE WITH A MYSQL QUERY ****** </DIV> </BODY> </HTML> Then in a mysql database, i would like to have records with a text field, that will contain for example the followng: <h1> Chapter 1: bla bla </h1> <p> in this chapter we will speak about bla bla bla.... </p> <div id="code"> int main() { int x,y; x=2; y=3; x=x+y; } </div> <p> this will outpout the following:</p> <div id="code output"> x=5! </div> I would like to get this html code from the database, and then show it in the <div id=BOOK-PAGE> div. But i dont want to use php eval(). Also, if i store the code to a file and then include it, i will have too may files(equal to the book's number of pages etc 100). Any ideas? |
