PHP - Check Box Stay Ticked
Hi guys,
I have some confusion here - I am trying to create a check box where when you tick the box but forget to fill in some other fields - How can you make sure the box stays ticked when we are taken back to the application page? Here is snippets of the code: .. $error = 0; $errormsg = ""; .. if( !isset($_POST['noemail']) && (empty($_POST['email1']) || !check_text($_POST['email1'])) ) { $error = 1; $errormsg .= "Please enter your requested email address 1<br>"; $errornum[3] = 1; } if( !isset($_POST['noemail']) && (empty($_POST['email2']) || !check_text($_POST['email2'])) ) { $error = 1; $errormsg .= "Please enter your requested email address 2<br>"; $errornum[3] = 1; }.. The Form Code: [Select] .. .. <tr> <td><input name="noemail" type="checkbox" value="noemail"> Do not want to get the E-mail address </td> </tr> <tr> <td nowrap>First Choice <input name="email1" type="text" <?php if ($_POST['action'] == "register") { echo 'value="'.$_POST['email1'].'"'; } ?>> </td> </tr> <tr> <td nowrap>Second Choice <input name="email2" type="text" <?php if ($_POST['action'] == "register") { echo 'value="'.$_POST['email2'].'"'; } ?>> </td> </tr> I tired used session e.g: <td><input name="noemail" type="checkbox" value="noemail"<?php echo ($_SESSION["noemail"]=='noemail' ? ' checked="checked"' : '');?>> but it is still did not work - can anyone please assist me what I need to edit or did wrong. Thanks. Similar TutorialsLet's say I have a list like this and in the parenthesis are the values: Page A (24) Page B (63) x Page C (33) Page D (22)x Page F (87)x Page E (45) The X mark the ones which are checked with a checkbox, and the values get inserted into the database in ONE row as follows: 63 22 87 (separated with spaces) And now an update to the list has been made, one x has been unchecked, the list looks as follows: Page A (24) Page B (63) x Page C (33) Page D (22) Page F (87)x Page E (45) How can I now know which checkbox exactly has been unchecked, so that I can remove that specific value from the row in the database? Once I've figured that out I'll figure out the rest. Basically what I need to know is: - that an uncheck has been done (removing) - an which value exactly has been unchecked Just FYI I need this for the admin panel of WordPress ones the user has checked a few options then the options will be saved and they'll be auto checked on the next visit. Checkbox list has the name like this: name="exclude[]" And then I simply use a foreach loop to go through all the values. Here's the code for the list: <ul> <!-- Right Section --> <?php $pages = get_pages(); $get_exclude_id = explode (' ', $get_exclude); foreach ($pages as $pagg) { ?> <li> <?php $option = '<input type="checkbox"'; if (in_array ($pagg->ID, $get_exclude_id)) { $option .= " checked "; } $option .= 'name="exclude[]" value="'. $pagg->ID .'" />'; $option .= $pagg->post_title; ?> </li> <?php echo $option; } ?> </ul> Here's the code for updating the ROW in the database. // add or update navi bar options if ($submit) { $get_exclude = get_option ('exclude_pages'); $page_id_string = $get_exclude . " "; foreach ($page_id as $value) { $page_id_string .= $value . " "; } update_option ('exclude_pages', $page_id_string); } Only works for adding values, but not for removing as of now. I hope I could explain clear enough to follow and I hope to hear some suggestions. Just a quick help here... When you click click this radio button. <input type="radio" name="radio" id="radio_id_card" /> ID Card it will open the form below the radio button. <form> First Name: <input type="text" name="textfield" id="textfield" /> Last Name: <input type="text" name="textfield" id="textfield" /> <input type="submit" id="Send" value="Submit" /> </form> ------------------------------- hope someone can help me... i really have a bad time thinking of ways to do it.. thank you in advance.. I don't get why these columns won't stay side by side vertically. I've tried playing around with the css. Please help. <body> <?php include_once "header_template.php"; ?> <div id="site_body" align="center"> <table width="735" border="0" height="1"> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> </table> <table width="749" height="150" border="1" align="center" bordercolor="" class="wrap"> <tr> <td width="240" height="100%" align="left" valign="top"><div id="spry_box" align="center"><?php include_once "spry_Collapsable_panal.php"; ?></div></td> <td width="255" align="center" valign="top"><div id="join_form_box" align="center"><?php include_once "join_form.php"; ?></div></td> <td width="240" align="right" valign="top"><div id="right_AD_box" align="center"><?php include_once "right_AD_template.php"; ?></div></td> </tr> </table> </div> <?php include_once "footer_template.php"; ?> </body> I have the website he http://bossexclusive.com/babyauction/index.php , and http://bossexclusive.com/babyauction/thanks.php . When you press submit on the index.php, it takes you to thanks.php. then, after 5s, it takes you back to index.php. My question is: How could I make it so when I press submit, the box submits the form, but instead of redirecting to thanks.php, it displays the same thank you message on the side, but stays on index.php? If that didn't make sense, let me know. soo when i press the button it all works just i need it to be able to stay on that tab and not refresh the page back to the first tab
here is a sample of my code:
<form method="post" action="{$smarty.server.PHP_SELF}?action=productdetails"> <input type="hidden" name="id" value="{$id}" /> <input type="submit" name="turnoff" value="Power Off"> </form> </td> {php} if(isset($_POST['turnoff'])) { $customfield = $this->get_template_vars('customfield'); $RemoteReboot = explode(",", $customfield['value']); $mib = ".1.3.6.1.4.1.13742.4.1.2.2.1.3."; $mib = $mib.$RemoteReboot[1]; $community = "hjkuiouYUI23"; $result = snmpset($RemoteReboot[0], $community, $mib, i, "0"); #echo($result); } {/php} When someone types in thier information in my Sign Up form i want the information they entered to stay after the page refresh. For example: I type in my information, but in the email field i forget the '@' symbol and then hit "Sign Up". Then the page would refresh and i would get an error message saying "You must enter a valid email address!" and all the information i typed in before would be gone and i'd have to start over with everything.. My question is, how can i make so that all the information I entered stays after the page refresh? Is there a simple way to do it or do I have to rewrite all my code? (i've provided it below) I know that you can use jQuery, AJAX and JS to acomplish this and also show the error message without refreshing the page but I don't know much about that and i'm trying to use as little JS as I can. So if there is another easier way? Here is my PHP script that holds the validation process and shows the errors etc: <?php class Register { private $username; private $first_name; private $last_name; private $password; private This topic has been moved to Ajax Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=349338.0 My problem is when the entries in the form are validated and some fields with incorrect entries are found the fields filled out stay on the re-load of the form, all of them except the US States drop down menu which reverts back to Alabama every time. I would like to see that the user selection stays in place even after a re-load of the form. and with my limited experience I am having an issue trying to figure this out for a school project. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, like what variables to create/call on and where exactly I insert this code. Much appreciated. here is the display code: <?php /* Program name: exercise_4_form.inc * Description: Defines a form that collects a user's * name and mailing address. */ $rows = array( "first_name" => "First Name (optional)", "last_name" => "Last Name", "phone" => "Phone Number", "city" => "City", "state" => "State", "address" => "Address", "zip_code" => "ZIP Code", "e_mail" => "E-Mail"); $states_list = array('AL'=>"Alabama",'AK'=>"Alaska",'AZ'=>"Arizona", 'AR'=>"Arkansas",'CA'=>"California",'CO'=>"Colorado",'CT'=>"Connecticut", 'DE'=>"Delaware",'DC'=>"District Of Columbia",'FL'=>"Florida",'GA'=>"Georgia", 'HI'=>"Hawaii",'ID'=>"Idaho",'IL'=>"Illinois", 'IN'=>"Indiana", 'IA'=>"Iowa", 'KS'=>"Kansas",'KY'=>"Kentucky",'LA'=>"Louisiana",'ME'=>"Maine", 'MD'=>"Maryland", 'MA'=>"Massachusetts",'MI'=>"Michigan",'MN'=>"Minnesota", 'MS'=>"Mississippi",'MO'=>"Missouri",'MT'=>"Montana",'NE'=>"Nebraska", 'NV'=>"Nevada",'NH'=>"New Hampshire",'NJ'=>"New Jersey",'NM'=>"New Mexico", 'NY'=>"New York",'NC'=>"North Carolina",'ND'=>"North Dakota",'OH'=>"Ohio", 'OK'=>"Oklahoma", 'OR'=>"Oregon",'PA'=>"Pennsylvania",'RI'=>"Rhode Island", 'SC'=>"South Carolina",'SD'=>"South Dakota",'TN'=>"Tennessee",'TX'=>"Texas", 'UT'=>"Utah",'VT'=>"Vermont",'VA'=>"Virginia",'WA'=>"Washington",'WV'=>"West Virginia", 'WI'=>"Wisconsin",'WY'=>"Wyoming"); $submit = "Submit mailing information"; ?> <html> <head> <style type='text/css'> <!-- body { background: #42413C; color: #000; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 90%; } form { margin: 1em 2 2 2; padding: 1; width: 1100px; margin-left: 35%; } .field {padding-bottom: 1em; } label { font-weight: bold; float: left; width: 15%; margin-right: 1em; text-align: right; background-color: #9F6; padding-right: 5px; } select {margin-bottom: 1em;} #submit { margin-left: 15%; } h3 { width: 500px; margin-left: 35%; } --> </style> </head> <body> <h3>Please enter your mailing information below:</h3> <?php /* loop that displays the form */ echo "<form action='$_SERVER[PHP_SELF]' method='POST'>"; foreach($rows as $field => $label) if($field == "state") { echo "<label for='$field'>$label</label> <select id='$field' name='$field'>\n"; foreach ( $states_list as $abbr => $sname ) { echo "<option value='$abbr'>$sname</option>\n"; } echo "</select>\n"; } else { echo "<div class='field'><label for='$field'>$label</label> <input id='$field' name='$field' type='text' value='".@$$field."' size='25%' maxlength='65' /></div>\n"; } echo "<div id='submit'> <input type='hidden' name='submitted' value='yes'> <input type='submit' value='$submit'></div>"; ?> </form> </body> </html>Here is the Logic on the combined php file that displays and has the statements on it for the form: <?php /* Program name: exercise_4_form_verifications.php * Description: Program checks all the form fields for * blank fields and verifies them */ if(isset($_POST['submitted']) and $_POST['submitted'] == "yes") { foreach($_POST as $field => $value) { if(empty($value)) { if($field != "first_name") { $blank_array[] = $field; } } else { $good_data[$field] = strip_tags(trim($value)); } } if(@sizeof($blank_array) > 0) { $message = "<p style='color: black; margin-bottom: 0;font-weight: bold; margin-left: 35%'> You didn't fill in one or more required fields. The insertion code into the MySQL databse when they vote is very simple: $ipaddress = addslashes($_POST['ipaddress']); $theid = addslashes($_POST['theid']); $gamert = addslashes($_POST['gamert']); $serveron = addslashes($_POST['serveron']); $db = mysql_connect("localhost", "username", "password"); mysql_select_db("thedb",$db); mysql_query ("INSERT INTO voting (theid,ipaddress,gamert,serveron2) VALUES ('$theid','$ipaddress','$gamert','$serveron') "); Obviously I only want them to be able to vote once. What is the best way to do a check of the IPs already in the database and check against theirs before submitting? Thanks. Suppose i have a table with around 10 entries in which one column contains the id and the second column contains a checkbox... If a checkbox a selected and the button (below the table) is pressed then i want to delete the columns corresponding the checked checkboxes.... I am not getting how sgould i pass the get variable on the link of the button??? -Pranshu Agrawal pranshu.a.11@gmail.com Hello their, I'm wanting to use PHP to check to see if a username and password match a remote RDP server. The reason I ask is because I want to verify that the information the user is giving is correct. I'm looking though LDAP but I have no idea what I'm looking for. To recap, I would like to login to a RDP server and return a result based on if it completed. Thank-you for reading Paul P.S Sorry for the bad English, I seemed to forgot how to spell some words and have had to replace them with longer sentences ok so i can get this to work so i want to check if there is a video on inside my db if there is no video and nothing happens but if there is i want it to echo video Code: [Select] <?php if($video == ""){ }else{ echo "VIDEO"; } ?> I am unable to execute mysql_num_rows properly in this program. Code: [Select] <?php $link=mysql_connect("localhost","root",""); $db = mysql_select_db("myDB",$link); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM jobs WHERE jobType=abc"); $num = mysql_num_rows($result); echo "Found $num records"; ?> error is mysql_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be resource Hi guys, I am trying to get a admin panel, which when the user is logged in, it will check if there user access is(say for this post) 9... If there access is 9 in the database then direct to admin panel if not return them home. Thanks guys Hello. I'm working on a site which I'd prefer to use SVG for some of the images. However, since not all browsers support SVG, I'm going to set a global variable to true if I detect the browser supports SVG. Using this, I can check to see if SVG is supported and show PNG/gif/jpg images in the place of the SVG in older browsers (and add a small banner at the top prompting them to upgrade to a modern browser). I can already do this using javascript. But seeing as javascript can be disabled, newer browsers that can support SVG might not be fed those images (which are much smaller files). The javascript I'm using to test SVG support is as follows Code: [Select] document.implementation.hasFeature("http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG11/feature#Shape", "1.1") the php code I tried, seeing as how it would make sense, is the following DOMImplementation::hasFeature("http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG11/feature#Shape", "1.1") (both of those were used in conditional branches) Is there any way to get php to test for SVG support? Or do I need to stick with javascript? Thanks for reading! Code: [Select] <table border="1"> <tr> <th>ID</th> <th>Image</th> </tr> <?php for($i=0; $i<=100; $i++) { $url = 'http://localhost/images/icon_'.$i.'_64x64.jpg'; echo "<tr><td>".$i."</td><td><img src='".$url."' /></td></tr>"; } ?> </table> So after testing this script, I get empty cells in the table if the image doesn't exist. Can someone show me how to make it display only the images that exists in that folder ? I want an if statement that not only checks for the existence of a variable, but which also checks all the variables already created for one with a specific value. For example, I have a loop which creates variables, but I don't want it to make two variables with the same value. The problem is, using
if(isset(${'h'.$x}==false) && ${'h'.$x} != 3{ }won't work since the variable equal to 3 could be named h4, whereas this one will be named h5. I hoped I explained this efficiently enough, sorry about any confusion. hi, im can someone help me out with a file upload? i want to say if filename=abc.csv then do abc else do nothing Hello, first of all i'm new here and i kinda like the community... so here i go with my question... When i register and then click on the link to get me to the log in file i have set the link for my member profile to be member.php?p=$_SESSION['id'] .. which works until now.. and lets say for instance my ID is 25... when i type on the browser member.php?p=553524 i will still be on the same page... so what i want to do is to check which id is typed and then throw them to the correct account profile or if the ID does not exist then throw them to a member-not-exist.php file.. I think i can do the how to check the id if it does exist but for the other one? Thanks in advance. |
