PHP - Php Fields Array Help
Below is my php file from my website srcfresno.com/inquiry2.htm
When I go to the website and enter information in the form fields, it submits to my email fine but the email I receive has no information filled in. Please help. Can anybody give me a loose idea how to do this? I have a sequence of pages that the user goes through to enter information. I need to move a page up to pull data before inputting to the database - to prevent some dropped entries and errors. Before, it was using info in the database to loop through and generate data. I want to do it just based on the info in an array: I want array(217 => 1, 215 => 2); to loop generate a form that loops through to create something like: Code: [Select] <form> Student one, Class 217<br> First name: <input type="text" name="fname[]" id="fname" onfocus="this.className='reg_live';" onblur="this.className='reg_off';" /> Last name: <input type="text" name="fname[]" id="fname" onfocus="this.className='reg_live';" onblur="this.className='reg_off';" /> <br><hr><br> Student one, Class 215<br> First name: <input type="text" name="fname[]" id="fname" onfocus="this.className='reg_live';" onblur="this.className='reg_off';" /> Last name: <input type="text" name="fname[]" id="fname" onfocus="this.className='reg_live';" onblur="this.className='reg_off';" /> <br><br> Student one, Class 215<br> First name: <input type="text" name="fname[]" id="fname" onfocus="this.className='reg_live';" onblur="this.className='reg_off';" /> Last name: <input type="text" name="fname[]" id="fname" onfocus="this.className='reg_live';" onblur="this.className='reg_off';" /> <br><hr><br> and so on. <input type="submit" value="Register" /></form> Hello everyone I need your assitance a great deal, so I have a form which i submitted to a php file throug ajax and jquery. It is working A ok but I want to be able to submit it with javascript instead, so i don't load any lib. And it is now a problem. The method I use to get the form field names and values in jquery is so simple and dynamic hence if changes are made on the html form i don't have to edit my jquery file to effect the change ie in respect to changing the name of the fields or adding more fields. But I don't know to archieve this using javascript. So i want to post my jquery script, for you all my mighty programmers to assist me get a javascript Clone for me, thank you very much for Helping Jquery file $("form.ajax").on("submit", function(){ var that= $(this); that.find('[name]').each(function(index,value){ var that = $(this), name =that.attr('name'), value =that.val(); data[name]=value; }); return false;}); Now the above code is just my major focus of the script. What it does is that select the form with an ajax class attribute and run a function after the user submits the form. The var that get reference to the above form throug the (this) reference. Next i use find fuction to look through out the open and close of our form.ajax form for any element that has the name attribute and set it into array using the .each(function (index,value){}) this is my main focus how to ilterate through the form looking for name attribute and set my finding into array using javascript. The next that var reference to the find statement and then we steal the name attribute and value from our findings and set an array called data with the stolen name variable as its index n value attribute as its value. Thank you once more my aim again is with the find and array setting statement. i have my form with 5 fields that are not required to be filled out. Code: [Select] <input class="inputbg" type="text" name="MAC[]" /> <input class="inputbg" type="text" name="MAC[]" /> <input class="inputbg" type="text" name="MAC[]" /> <input class="inputbg" type="text" name="MAC[]" /> <input class="inputbg" type="text" name="MAC[]" /> On my process page I want to remove all of the empty index's that did not have data entered. I am new to sending array data via POST do I need to do anything else other then what is below? Code: [Select] foreach($MAC as $key => $value) { if($value == "") { unset($MAC[$key]); } } $mac_addresses = array_values($MAC); if(empty($mac_addresses)){ $error = "You did not enter any MAC adresses."; $valid = "false"; } Hi friends, a quick print_r() shows the following array while connecting to my database. How to get them as individual items and display on the website ? Array ( [0] => Array ( [id] => 52 [document_name] => xyz [document_ext] => gif [download_file_name] => ktm_impact.gif [upload_dt] => 2010-08-11 ) ) Hi, i'm new here and hope i've finally found a forum where i can find the perfect solution for my questions.
Well since a year now i started to work with PHP and still now and then there are some things where i seize on. My question is on of those situations.
I have the following code:
if (isset($_POST)){ foreach ($_POST as $key => $value){ if (!empty($value)){ $update_rma_detail_stmt = $dbh->prepare("UPDATE rma_detail SET $key = ? WHERE rd_rma_nr = ?"); $update_rma_detail_stmt->bindParam(1, $value); $update_rma_detail_stmt->bindParam(2, $getadmrmaid); $update_rma_detail_stmt->execute(); } } }All i want is when there is an empty (not filled in) input field because it is not mandatory the foreach still continuous to the end. When i use if (!empty($value)){It still outputs these error: Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1366 Incorrect integer value: ' ' However, when i dont use i got an other error: Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'SQLSTATE[22007]: Invalid datetime format: 1292 Incorrect date value: '' It is however so that the datetime is the very first empty field it come across when looping. I think my if (!empty($value)){ is doing the right thing but still gives error's on integers. Can it be? I allready tried to use trim() or array_filter() but because i previously never used it i dont know if i am doing it the right way so any help is welkom! Thanks! Edited by Raz3rt, 20 May 2014 - 02:56 AM. I have a Form that has 10 questions. When the User completes the Form, each Response needs to be a separate record. (My database has a many-to-many relationship with a "member" and "question" table joined by a "answer" table in the middle. And each Form field will go into its own unique record to make the many-to-many work.) At the top of my Form I have... if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD']=='POST'){ // Form was Submitted (Post). // Initialize Errors Array. $errors = array(); // Trim all form data. $trimmed = array_map('trim', $_POST); // ************************ // Validate Form Data. * // ************************ // Validate Answer1. if (strlen($trimmed['answer01']) >= 2 && strlen($trimmed['answer01']) <= 1024){ // Valid Answer1. $answerArray[0] = $trimmed['answer01']; }else{ // Invalid Answer1. $errors['question01'] = 'Answer must be 2-1024 characters.'; }//End of VALIDATE ANSWER1 // Validate Answer2. // : // : // Validate Answer10. And down farther in my code, I have each Field in my Form set up like this... Code: [Select] <!-- Question 1 --> <label for="question01">1.) Why did you decide to start your own business?</label> <textarea id="question1" name="answer01" cols="60" rows="8"><?php if (isset($answerArray[0])){echo htmlentities($answerArray[0], ENT_QUOTES);} ?></textarea> <?php if (!empty($errors['question01'])){ echo '<span class="error">' . $errors['question01'] . '</span>'; } ?> So if my Form works like I am thinking, all 10 Form Fields would end up here... Code: [Select] $answerArray[0] $answerArray[1] $answerArray[2] $answerArray[3] $answerArray[4] $answerArray[5] $answerArray[6] $answerArray[7] $answerArray[8] $answerArray[9] First of all, does that sound correct? If that part is correct, then how do I take the $answerArray[] and INSERT each value into a different record in my "answer" table?? Hope that makes sense?! Thanks, Debbie Now, here's what I'm trying to do:
First, I have a file filled with data like such:
title
tag
1
2
Title
Description
Etc
Next, I upload that file to my site which then proceeds to make an array with said data and then inserts it into my database. But this is not the intended behavior. Right now, if I upload the same file again, it will re-insert everything and duplicate all entries.
What I want to do is check if the data in the file has already been added, do nothing. If it's been modified, I want to update the database where changes have been made and not duplicate anything.
Currently, my code does all that except one thing whre I'm really stuck: it won't update the changes from the file to the database. I've tried echoing everything and it's to be working except for the query so I take it the error is in there but I can't find it... I'm still learning PHP and MySQL so I thought maybe somebody could help indicate where or what I'm doing wrong in the query. Thanks in advance !
Here's my attempt at doing so:
$register_ep_data = array( 'show' => $name, 'season' => $srNum, 'ep' => $epNum, 'app_name' => $epName, 'tag' => $tag, 'app_about' => $desc, 'app_website' => $imdb, 'app_release' => $release, 'type' => $type, 'app_code' => $Frame ); array_walk($register_ep_data, 'array_fu'); $fields = '`' . implode('`, `', array_keys($register_ep_data)) . '`'; $data = '\'' . implode('\', \'', $register_ep_data) . '\''; $epFound = false; $id = 0; while ($ep_list_data = mysql_fetch_array($turtle)) { $id = $ep_list_data['app_id']; $currentNAME = $ep_list_data['app_name']; $SERIES = $ep_list_data['show']; if ($SERIES == $name) { if ($currentNAME == $epName) { $epFound = true; break; } } } if ($epFound) { mysql_query("UPDATE `games` SET ($fields) VALUES ($data) WHERE `app_id` = '$id'"); } else { mysql_query("INSERT INTO `games` ($fields) VALUES ($data)"); }A few explanations: $fields would equal to something like: `show`, `season`, `ep`, etc... and $data to 'example', '1', '2', 'etc' In brief, I'm attempting to capture the form data from a dynamic form to a mysql database. ... As a non-php or mysql developer, I'm learning on the fly. This is a section of the php file that I was using to post the form data to mySQL. This worked great up to the point I added the dynamic form widget. <?php // This function will run within each post array including multi-dimensional arrays function ExtendedAddslash(&$params) { foreach ($params as &$var) { // check if $var is an array. If yes, it will start another ExtendedAddslash() function to loop to each key inside. is_array($var) ? It's possible that may work, but can't get my head around how to apply the function to the PETLIST Array. Looking for suggestions or direction to find a solution for this challenge. Looking forward to any replies. Hey guys,
Thank you in advance... here is my situation, I have a form with three (3) fields in it, the 'student name' is unlimited textfield with an "add more" button to it and I have two select fields ('number of shirts' and 'trophies') that depend on the number of entries for 'student name'...
I want to create the select fields based on this math, for as many 'student name' entries:
1- i want to have the select form for 'number of shirts' to be 0 up to that number... so if there are 6 'student name' entries, the select options will be 0,1,3,4,5,6,7
2- I want to have the select form for 'trophies' to be 5 'student name' entries to 1 'trophies', for example if there are 6 'student name' entries, the select options will be 0,1... if there are 13 entries, options will be 0,1,2... So if there are less than 5 'student name' entries, the select field will not show (hidden)
of course if there are no 'student name' entries, these two fields won't show up (hidden)
let me know if that make sense and ANY help or directions will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thanks guys!
Can someone please help me with an array problem i can not figure out. I need the array to be numbered from 1 to how ever many fields that are needed in the form and have a mysql field name and the title of the field also in the array. 1, "mysql_field_name", "Title of form field" 2, "", "" and so on then the form will be shown based on the array. I have the following draft code which I am working with. any suggestions on how i may do this array ? Code: [Select] <?php $options = array( '1'=> array('fieldtext'=>'option1', 'mysqlfield'=>'option1'), '2'=> array('fieldtext'=>'option2', 'mysqlfield'=>'option2'), '3'=> array('fieldtext'=>'option3', 'mysqlfield'=>'option3'), '4'=> array('fieldtext'=>'option4', 'mysqlfield'=>'option4'), ); // $options = array(1 => "option1", "option2", "option3", "option4"); // the line above works but i want to include the name of the mysql field as well. $userid = 1; ?> <div style="align: center; margin: 12px; font-family:Tahoma;"> <br><br><?php if ($_POST['Update'] != "Update") { // check if form submitted yet, if not get data from mysql. $res = db_query("SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE `userid` = '" . $userid . "'"); foreach($options as $key => $value) { $_POST[$key] = mysql_result($res, 0, $value); } $ok_to_update = "no"; } elseif ($_POST['Update'] == "Update") { // check if form submitted yet, if so get POST data. // error checking // foreach($options as $key => $value) { // $_POST[$i] = ""; // } $ok_to_update = "yes"; } if ($_POST['Update'] == "Update" && $ok_to_update == "yes") { // $res = db_query("INSERT INTO `users` () VALUES ()"); // add user details to database. ?><p><br><br><br>Thank you for updating</p><?php } else { ?><form name="form1" method="post" action=""> <?php foreach($options as $key => $value) { ?><p><?php echo($value); ?>: <input type="text" name="<?php echo($key); ?>" value="<?php echo($_POST[$key]);?>"></p> <?php } ?> <input name="Update" type="submit" value="Update"> </form> <?php } ?> </div> Hi all I have a website which has a payment system on it, I use sagepay, paypal and a few others. They all have relatively similar forms, in which the total amount to be paid is passed in a hidden form field, such as <input type="hidden" name="amount" value="25"> all the payment gateways I use have the same or similar method to send the total amount (ie: 25) for example, my paypal form is like <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" name="paypal_form" method="post">"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick"> <input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="items"> <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="GBP"> <input type="hidden" name="notify_url" value="complete.php"> <input type="hidden" name="return" value="complete.php"> <input type="hidden" name="cancel_return" value="complete.php"> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="PayPal" /> </form> this is all fine, apart from the user can use things like "firebug" to alter the total to be paid, so they can change $25 to $4 for example. So my question is, is there anyway with PHP to send over these form values are hidden variables. My idea was to post my form fields apart from the "cost" to a PHP script, then get PHP to grab the total from the database and dump the value in cost field and send it along with the other posted values. So really, is there anyway to get PHP to process a form data in a hidden enviroment, so my payment form URL is something like process.php and then process.php on my server deals with the sending of the paypal form data, but in a way that the user cannot see this data, so they basically never get to see the paypal form and any of its contents. Hopefully that kind of makes sense I have tried so many ideas, but cannot seem to find a solution, although when I do, hopefully the same method can be used on all my payment forms. Thanks tons in advance Hi, I'm very new to php. just wrote my first insert script which works great. Now when my script has run it sends you to the thank you page. It also sends username through a post. Now I'm trying to display Dear <? username ?> But i cant get it working. can anyone help? Code: [Select] <div class='label'>Group Name</div> <div class='field'><select name='group'><?=$groupSelect?></select></div> I need to be able to add another dropdown list to allow for multiple group selections that get saved into the DB once submitted. How do I go about doing this?????? Scenario: each row contains an ID, title, description, price, and up to 5 images. There are not always 5 images stored in each row. The images are stored as a file path which is then pulled out of the DB and used to display an image via HTML. I need to do some sort of loop/check that looks at the contents of a particular row (actually all rows in this particular table) and then decide how many times to loop through the images to display them all correctly on the webpage. I could statically set a variable for each column but then it would have a space for an image but nothing would show. I really want this to be able to only load the images that are stored in the DB. Any help on how I can go about this? thanks -beemer Hi Guys i need help on a small matter. if you go to https://www.mywebchambers.co.uk/invoiceman/form.php when submitted all works ok. However if you delete rows 3, 4 and 5 and submit the page shows a value of 0.00 in the total column on rows 3, 4 and 5. How do i get this value removed so it is blank same as the rest ?

Hi guys, I have an entry site with six fields, (country, town, school, language, course type, starting date) all of them take their content from the database. (Just those countries will be shown, if someone registered from there) However, if a visitor chooses e.g. country USA, and then schools, he will still be shown ALL schools, no matter if they are in the USA or not. I need to change that! How can I make the fields dependent from each other. So if a visitor chooses a country, that just the schools, the towns, the courses, etc.. will be shown in the other drop down menus from that particular country. Thanks! Here is my code: Code: [Select] <style type="text/css"> .search_panel { width: 250px; margin: 10px 0; } .search_panel input { width: 220px; border: 2px solid #000643; padding: 5px; } .search_panel select { width: 230px; border: 2px solid #000643; padding: 5px; } </style> <script> $(function() { $( "#course_start_date" ).datepicker(); }); </script> <div id="home"> <div style="width: 500px; height:260px; padding: 40px 50px; margin: 0 auto; background-image: url(<?=base_url()?>images/front_blue.png); background-repeat: no-repeat;"> <form method="post" action="<?=site_url('search')?>"> <div class="search_panel" style="float: left;"> <select name="country" style=""> <option value="">Choose a country</option> <?php if($countries): foreach($countries as $country): ?> <option value="<?=$country->school_country?>"><?=$country->school_country?></option> <?php endforeach; endif; ?> </select> </div> <div class="search_panel" style="float: left;"> <select name="city"> <option value="">Choose a city</option> <?php if($cities): foreach($cities as $city): ?> <option value="<?=$city->school_city?>"><?=$city->school_city?></option> <?php endforeach; endif; ?> </select> </div> <br clear="all"/> <div class="search_panel" style="float: left;"> <input type="text" name="starting_date" id="course_start_date" value="Choose a starting date" onclick="this.value='';"/> </div> <div class="search_panel" style="float: left;"> <select name="course_type"> <option value="">Course type</option> <?php if($course_types): foreach($course_types as $course_type): ?> <option value="<?=$course_type->course_type?>"><?=$course_type->course_type?></option> <?php endforeach; endif; ?> </select> </div> <br clear="all"/> <div class="search_panel" style="float: left;"> <select name="school_name"> <option value="">Search by school name</option> <?php if($schools): foreach($schools as $school): ?> <option value="<?=$school->school_name?>"><?=$school->school_name?></option> <?php endforeach; endif; ?> </select> </div> <div class="search_panel" style="float: left;"> <select name="language"> <option value="">Search by language</option> <?php if($languages): foreach($languages as $language): ?> <option value="<?=$language?>"><?=$language?></option> <?php endforeach; endif; ?> </select> </div> <br clear="all"/> <center> <p><br /> <input type="image" src="<?=base_url()?>images/search.png"/> </p> </center> </form> </div> </div> I have this code: Code: [Select] if (isset($_POST['update'])){ $ids = implode(",", array_map('intval', $_POST['m'])); $ranks = implode(",", array_map('intval', $_POST['ranks'])); if ($ids < 1) message("Incorrect Data"); if ($ranks < 0) message("Incorrect Data"); echo $ids; echo "<br>"; echo $ranks; exit; $db->query('UPDATE friends set RANKS WHERE friend_id IN ('.$db->escape($ids).') AND user_id = '.$pun_user['id'].'') or error('Unable to remove users from online list', __FILE__, __LINE__, $db->error()); redirect("s.php?section=Friends","Thanks, Ranks Updated"); } I grab the id's from the rank This will spit out 3,4 for $ids and for $ranks, 1,2 as you can see, set for 1 and 2 respectivaly. My problem is how can I use MYSQL to update the data correspond to each id using a IN clause? Code: [Select] $db->query('UPDATE friends set RANKS = "LOST $RANKS? HERE" WHERE friend_id IN ('.$db->escape($ids).') AND user_id = '.$pun_user['id'].'') or error('Unable to remove users from online list', __FILE__, __LINE__, $db->error()); According to http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=350872.0: Is this a correct usage of what I am trying to create? Code: [Select] <?php $connect = mysql_connect("mysql12.000webhost.com","***","***") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("***") or die(mysql_error()); $id = mysql_real_escape_string($_GET['id']); $extract = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM webclientcreate WHERE id='$id' LIMIT 1 WHERE ip='$ip' WHERE port='$port' WHERE name='$name' WHERE background='$background'"); ?> Code: [Select] <applet name=client width=765 height=503 archive='<?php echo $jars; ?>' code='client.class'> <PARAM name='java_arguments' value='-Xmx700m'> <PARAM name='server_name' value='<?php echo $name; ?>'> <PARAM name='detail' value='low'> <PARAM name='ip' value='<?php echo $ip; ?>'> <PARAM name='port' value='<?php echo $port; ?>'> <PARAM name='background_image' value='<?php echo $background; ?>'> <PARAM name='headicons' value=''> I've tried several types of the query line such as : Code: [Select] webclientcreate WHERE id='$id' LIMIT 1, WHERE ip='$ip', WHERE port='$port' Code: [Select] webclientcreate WHERE id='$id' LIMIT 1, ip='$ip', port='$port' Code: [Select] webclientcreate WHERE id='$id' LIMIT 1 ip='$ip' port='$port'Without any success I appreciate any help I can get! I have 2 fields, one for Mother's mobile, the other for Father's mobile. I want to ensure that at least one of the 2 fields contains a number. This is what I have: Code: [Select] <?php if(!isset($_POST['guardian1_mobile']) && !isset($_POST['guardian2_mobile'])) { // no number entered in either field $errors[] = 'You must enter a mobile number in at least one of the Guardian1 or Guardian2 Mobile fields.'; } else { // if Mother mobile if(!is_numeric($_POST['guardian1_mobile']) || strlen(trim($_POST['guardian1_mobile'])) != 7) { // number must be numeric and exactly 7 digits $errors[] = '<strong>Guardian1 mobile</strong>: please enter a 7-digit number without spaces or dashes.'; } else { $_SESSION['guardian1_mobile'] = $_POST['guardian1_mobile']; } // if Father mobile if(!is_numeric($_POST['guardian2_mobile']) || strlen($_POST['guardian2_mobile']) != 7) { $errors[] = '<strong>Guardian2 mobile</strong>: please enter a 7-digit number without spaces or dashes.'; } else { $_SESSION['guardian2_mobile'] = $_POST['guardian2_mobile']; } } However, when I leave both fields blank, errors for the 'else' part of the condition are returned ('Please enter a 7-digit number...'). But it should never get as far as the 'else'.... Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my logic in the first line?... Thanks in advance. Hi, I have a page where a user can change his password what i want to acheive is a way of checking the database if the text the user has entered in the textboxes already exist in the db, and if it does exist change a certain part. for example the user goes to the address, types in the email, user name and password twice. if the username and email match in the db i would like the password to write over the old password that was in the db. i keep confusing myself when i think i know what im doing but i keep stumbling. i know this sounds a bit confusing so please ask if you need more understanding. so far ive got: Code: [Select] <?php $n=$_POST['uname']; $e=$_POST['email']; if( $_POST['submitted'] == 'yes' ) { if( $_POST['pass_1'] != $_POST['pass_2'] ) { // fields don't match, so do something to indicate the error . . . echo '<p>Passwords Do Not Match</p>'; } // connect to the db include('config.php'); $query="select * from user where uname='$n' and email='$e'"; $result=mysql_query($query); } ?> <form action="" method="post"> <input type="text" name="uname" id="uname" size="30"> <input type="text" name="email" id="email" size="30"> <input type="password" name="pass_1" /> <input type="password" name="pass_2" /> <input type="hidden" name="submitted" value ="yes" /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Change Password" /> </form> just by looking at my code again i think its not right at all, the first php bit is only checking the password textboxes. i think i need to remove my email and username out of that form and put them in another. am i right? sorry im not that good at php or mysql thanks in advance and sorry for such a long read |
