hey everyone. I'm working on a site (built almost from scratch) and i used a book which implements a design i'm not all too confident about, but i'll try it out. Anywho there is one thing that bugs me, and that is that I don't know how to properly setup error messages. For example, the login page does this:
* gather data
* send $_POST data to process.inc.php
* process.inc.php handles the object implementation, and sends you to the dashboard if your login is successful and returns you to the login page if the login attempt is unsuccessful

However, on the last one, if I have to send the user back to the page because of a failed attempt, i'd like to display an error message, but I'm not clear on the best way of doing this considering the request isn't handled by PHP_SELF.

I hope I made sense. If not, I'll gladly try to clear up any confusion, and thanks in advance

Hi, I have this script, it all works fine until it gets to the message sending point. What I want is if the $registerMail variable is set to yes then send the message and redirect user to login page, if not then just redirect the user to the login page.

However once registered, the user is sent to the login page and the message isnt sent.

how can you actually do that? I know that you can do that through session variables but the thing is email's can't accept scripts on sending emails. how can I get the value from a session variable for example and convert it to plain html text so that i can OUTPUT it to the email.. HELP PLEASE!

Hey guys! Been a long time since I've posted here but I am back for help because I'm encountering a problem that's kind of baffling me.

I'm programming a web game, and one of the things that happens is that an email gets sent out when it's your turn in one of your games. This is working fine and all but I can not for the life of me figure out how to send email with html in it that is universally accepted. What I've been doing so far works for gmail, hotmail, etc. but for some reason breaks entirely when someone opens an email with a client like Thunderbird or Outlook.

Here's what I've been doing:

I'm having an issue with sending HTML Emails. Here is my code, but nothing comes out right when it gets emailed. And my email client is set to view HTML. I can view other HTML emails just fine, but not these.

Hi Guys,

I've got a contact form set up, where the user can submit their design they have created on the site.

The file uploads to a directory titled "Uploads" and the idea would then be set up a link within an HTML style E-Mail, I've had a look at MIME-TYPE on the php.net manual. I've got the form to work to an extent, however the PHP variables are not being echo'ed out and the E-Mail looks like this :

Hi I built a really simple customer review form https://kickasssoftwear.uk/dev/reviews.html (it's only been optimised for mobile view so far) and it works using the php mail script on this page https://kickasssoftwear.uk/dev/empty2.php - the emails are being sent to me and the format of the emails is OK, and the form redirects to the empty2 page with a mailsent message in the address bar.

I know I can leave that page as is and write a nice thank you message in the html - but what I really want to do is have the customers name there too, Thanks 'name' your review has been sent,

but I can't get it to work - it's been 4 whole days now and I really need to eat & sleep! Please if anyone has suggestions or advice for a noob, please help. Thanks

I have been taking a crash course trying to learn php/html/javascript/jquery and am probably asking a fairly simple question. I installed phpmailer recently and have been able to send mail with attachments without a problem, but I am trying to make the body of the email HTML. I even resorted to include the style sheet in what i passed to phpmailer because the formatting wasn't working when i coded the html settings withing $htmlBody originally.

Hi there
I am trying to send an array of items to delete from a form, receive them back to the page then enter them into another form and then send them back to the page. Basically its a delete then confirm delete thing.
So I can send the array from the first form though I am not sure how to place them into the second (confirm delete) form.
What I've got so far considering the array does get sent in the first place is
First I receive the array:

I am sure that there is a simple solution! Can anyone help me here?

Sending Sql Query To Email In Html Small Bug - Please Help

Hallo There,

I have some code I got from the internet a while ago. The code works as follow:

1.) The script runs from the command prompt (Linux) with a contab service
2.) It executes a specified SQL query against a MySQL database server
3.) Formats the output of the result set into an html table
4.) Sends the result to an email address

I am not a programmer :-(
I have been using the code with great success for some time, but it has the following bug: On certain email clients it displays as text and not as an html email. Especially on mac operated systems and iPhones/iPADs etc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know of a way to use PHP to create and email a HTML file? I was attempting to use the standard PHP mail function to pass a HTML string to the message variable, but mail clients have a pretty hard time rendering HTML/CSS correctly. My thought was, if I could take my HTML string and turn it into a file and attach it to a email message the user would be able to open the file in there default browser which would render without issues. Just for the record my HTML string also contains PHP variables, so it must be processes before being sent.

So far my research suggests using the PEAR library for sending mail with attachments, but I am only finding literature on how to attach a file already existing on the server to an email message. I am having trouble finding a way to create a HTML file on the fly and attach it to an email message. Has anyone had a similar problem? Is there a different way to accomplish what I am attempting to do here?
