Today i'm trying to debug a little DOMDocument object in PHP. Ideally it'd be nice if I could get DOMDocument to output in a array-like format, to store the data in a database! My example: head over to the url - see the example: the target http://dms-schule.bildung.hessen.de/suchen/suche_schul_db.html?show_school=8880 I investigated the Sourcecode: I want to filter out the data that that is in the following class <div class="floatbox"> See the sourcecode: <span class="grey"> <span style="font-size:x-small;">></span></span> <a class="navLink" href="http://dms-schule.bildung.hessen.de/suchen/index.html" title="Suchformulare zum hessischen schulischen Bildungssystem">suche</a> </div> </div> <!-- begin of text --> <h3>Siegfried-Pickert Schule</h3> <div class="floatbox"> See my approach: Here is the solution return the labels and values in a formatted array ready for input to mysql! <?php $dom = new DOMDocument(); @$dom->loadHTMLFile('http://dms-schule.bildung.hessen.de/suchen/suche_schul_db.html?show_school=8880'); $divElement = $dom->getElementById('floatbox'); $innerHTML= ''; $children = $divElement->childNodes; foreach ($children as $child) { $innerHTML = $child->ownerDocument->saveXML( $child ); $doc = new DOMDocument(); $doc->loadHTML($innerHTML); //$divElementNew = $dom->getElementsByTagName('td'); $divElementNew = $dom->getElementsByTagname('td'); /*** the array to return ***/ $out = array(); foreach ($divElementNew as $item) { /*** add node value to the out array ***/ $out[] = $item->nodeValue; } echo '<pre>'; print_r($out); echo '</pre>'; } well Duhh: this outputs lot of garbage. The code spits out a lot of html anyway. What can i do to get a more cleaned up code!? What is wrong with the idea of using this attribute: $dom->getElementById('floatbox'); any idea!? any and all help will greatly appreciated. season-greetings db1 Here are my smileys: // Here you can add additional smilies if you like (please note that you must escape single quote and backslash) $smilies = array( ':)' => 'smile.gif', ';)' => 'wink.gif', ':(' => 'sad.gif', '' => 'mellow.gif', ':(' => 'sad.gif', '' => 'mad.gif', '' => 'cry.gif', '' => 'banana.gif', ':locked:' => 'dancinglock.gif', '' => 'hug.gif', ':bonk:' => 'bangin.gif', '' => 'heart2.gif', '<3' => 'heart.gif', '' => 'blush.gif', ':p' => 'tongue.png', '' => 'lol.png', '' => 'mad.png', '' => 'roll.png', '' => 'cool.png');And here is the function to convert them to images using preg_replace function do_smilies($text) { global $smilies; $text = ' '.$text.' I tried: \<3AND <\3to see if I needed to escape the left carrot (<), but still no luck. Edited by Monkuar, 10 January 2015 - 12:19 AM. I'm trying to use preg_replace but I can't get it working. function replaceContent($sContent) { $aReplaceTags = array( "'\[MENU-CARD\](.*?)\[/MENU-CARD\]'is" => '\\1', "'\[CONTACT-FORM\]'is" => "Contactform", ); return preg_replace(array_keys($aReplaceTags), array_values($aReplaceTags), $sContent); } This works great however when I change '\\1' into a function the output of '\\1' will always be 1. function replaceContent($sContent) { $aReplaceTags = array( "'\[MENU-CARD\](.*?)\[/MENU-CARD\]'is" => $this->loadMenuCard('\\1'), "'\[CONTACT-FORM\]'is" => "Contactform", ); return preg_replace(array_keys($aReplaceTags), array_values($aReplaceTags), $sContent); } Anyone knows what I am doing wrong? Hi All, I am fairly new to PHP. I want to write some code that will get content from specific classes that are in a HTML page. I.e. <p>text 1</p> <p class="description">text2</p> <p>text3</p> I want to just output text where class = description. How would i do this? Hello everyone, I have a website where users are able to send and receive messages. I am trying to devise a way that I can prevent abusive messages from being sent. The best way that I can think of to do this is to use a few key words that would likely be used in an abusive message (basically, any curse word). Does anyone have any ideas on how I can check the text before it is sent for certain key words? Thanks in advance for any help or ideas. Hello All, Please excuse my lack of knowledge in advance, I'm a beginner but pick things up relatively quickly, and tend to do things by trial and error. I would appreciate any help that anyone could offer with the following: I would like to retrieve two pieces of data from a "text file" and use them to calculate a result from a function I have in javascript. An example of the javascript code is: <script type="text/javascript"> function calculate() { var drybulb = document.calc_form.drybulb.value; var relhum = document.calc_form.relhum.value; var answer = ''; if (drybulb !== '' && relhum !== '') { answer = (0.567*drybulb*1) + (0.393 * (relhum*1/100 * 6.105 * Math.exp(17.27 * drybulb / (237.7 + drybulb*1)))) + 3.94; } document.calc_form.answer.value = answer; return false; } </script> Currently this is evaluated with entry from a simple html form, but I would like to have this performed "automatically". The "text file" that I would like to access is here, not on my server: http://www.bom.gov.au/fwo/IDV60901/IDV60901.94870.axf I would like to extract the "air_temp" and "rel_hum" values under the [data] section for use in my function. I just need the "most recent" values (i.e. first), not all those contained in the file. This is a single record from that section (sorry for the mess this no doubt makes): [data] sort_order,wmo,name[80],history_product[80],local_date_time[80],local_date_time_full[80],aifstime_utc[80],air_temp,apparent_t,cloud[80],cloud_base_m,cloud_oktas,cloud_type[80],cloud_type_id,delta_t,dewpt,gust_kmh,gust_kt,lat,lon,press,press_msl,press_qnh,press_tend[80],rain_trace[80],rel_hum,sea_state[80],swell_dir_worded[80],swell_height,swell_period,vis_km[80],weather[80],wind_dir[80],wind_spd_kmh,wind_spd_kt 0,94870,"Moorabbin Airport","IDV60901","27/10:00pm","20120227220000","20120227110000",18.8,19.3,"Partly cloudy",510,3,"-",-9999,0.8,17.5,13,7,-38.0,145.1,1013.5,-9999.0,1013.5,"-","11.4",92,"-","-",-9999.0,-9999,"10","-","S",11,6 Would it be possible to obtain these values using PHP?, and if so any advice on how this could be done (noting my minimal knowledge) would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Can someone please, PLEASE explain to me how i can extract/parse all the text between the td-tags? The title says it all,..well as all u can see, there are many methods to accomplish this done but not before undergoing through a heavy tasking process. For instance, 1. Open the file 2. Reads the content of the file into array. 3. Find out the desire line of text that we want to replace. 4. Make that line of text as variable and assigns with the new data(that we want to replace) as its values. 5.open another file. 6.Write the whole contents to the file opened in 5. 7. Put the contents back to the file of original. Can anyone contributes a better way to get this done? Like replace/delete a specific line without affecting other characters or anything therein? Thanx. P.S reading and using str_replace to make the alteration always ends up in giving some kind of result beyond desired after the first round of code execution. In a text box I put in some code snippets that I want to refer to later, but when I display it, it displays it in html. How do I convert the code into pure text so it displays the actual code? If I try strip_tags, that just strips it (and it doesn't work with php). And I can't use strip_tags with conditions, because I don't want to list all codes! Also, the code has both html tags and php code - I just want that whole thing to be displayed as is, without havign the browser try to "read" it. Also if I put this into the text box, <td><?php echo date ("m/d/Y", strtotime($row['code_date']));?></td> then nothing is displayed. If I put this in the box: <input class="button" style="display:inline" name="whatever" type="submit" value="Press here" /> then I get an actual submit button instead of the code! Hi , As we know we validate the user input data while processing the from. We validate to avoid XSS for that we use html filter to filter invalid tags and all. If the data it self contains some tag like data Ex: <HOMETOWN RANGE> . the html filters truncating it to <HOMETOWN> though the the tag is not a HTML tag . Presently i am using Input class filter it s truncating the text. Can any one suggest me some filters where we can avoid data truncation with non- html tags like above..... Hi, I'm not sure if this should be in PHP or HTML so apologies if it's in the wrong area. I have a form with a text area element but when the text is submitted, tags such as <br> aren't included so the outputted text is never formatted correctly such as there being no paragraphs. Is there a way make sure such tags are included in the output text? Ta. Yes, it's a homework assignment. No, I'm not trying to cheat, so pointing me somewhere is better than just feeding me code, like, "look up how to blah blah" or tell me what I've got wrong? I'm trying to parse a text file of the constitution, add header and <p> tags depending on the first word of the paragraph, then print to an html page. I know I'm supposed to create a function that will return a paragraph, and another function that will return the first word of a paragraph. This is my code, and it completely does not work (obviously I've not included the external html tags) <?php // Opens the constitution text file. $const = fopen("constitution.txt","r"); //Returns an entire paragraph function getParagraph($myfile) { while (!feof($myfile)){ $line = file_get_contents($myfile); $paragraph = explode("\n",$line); } return $paragraph; } //Returns the first word of a paragraph function getFirstWord($myfile) { $pg = getParagraph($myfile); $word = explode(" ",$pg); Return $word[0]; } // Runs through some if statements to determine the tags to use if (getFirstWord($const) === "Article"){ echo "<h2> getParagraph($const)</h2>"; } elseif (getFirstWord($const) === "Section"){ echo "<h3> getParagraph($const)</h3>"; } elseif (getFirstWord($const) === "Amendment"){ echo "<h3> getParagraph($const)</h3>"; } elseif (getFirstWord($const) === "We the People"){ echo "<em> getParagraph($const) </em>"; } else{ echo "<p> getParagraph($const) </p>"; } fclose($const); ?> Hi! I have a text area on my webpage which takes in user php scripts and produces an output in an adjacent window. I am trying to find out how I can auto include some php tags into the input text area so that the user doesn't have to keep typing them in every time. Code: [Select] <form name="form1" method="post" ACTION="editor.php"> <textarea rows="10" cols="60" id="code" name="code"></textarea> <span class="submitbutton">Test code</span> </form> Thanks in advance, Jay I use the Wholesale Suite Premium Prices plugin with WooCommerce. I have 6 specific wholesale roles out of 15 that I wish to hide two specific shipping methods from being selected for the 6 exceptions. I'm just trying this on my staging server at this time using a code snippet example that I found and modified for my specific conditions. Would the following work for this purpose? /* Hide specific shipping methods for specific wholesale roles */ add_filter( 'woocommerce_package_rates', function( $shipping_rates ) { // User role and shipping method ID to hide for the user role $role_shipping_method_arr = array( 'ws_silvia_silver' => array( 'Silvia Premium Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_silver_pst_exempt' => array( 'Silvia Premium Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_silver_tax_exempt' => array( 'Silvia Premium Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_silver' => array( 'Silvia Union Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_silver_pst_exempt' => array( 'Silvia Union Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_silver_tax_exempt' => array( 'Silvia Union Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_gold' => array( 'Silvia Premium Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_gold_pst_exempt' => array( 'Silvia Premium Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_gold_tax_exempt' => array( 'Silvia Premium Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_gold' => array( 'Silvia Union Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_gold_pst_exempt' => array( 'Silvia Union Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), 'ws_silvia_gold_tax_exempt' => array( 'Silvia Union Standard Shipping (Tracking Service)'), ); // Getting the current user role $curr_user = wp_get_current_user(); $curr_user_data = get_userdata($current_user->ID); // Wholesale Suite Roles if (isset($current_user) && class_exists('WWP_Wholesale_Roles')) { $wwp_wholesale_roles = WWP_Wholesale_Roles::getInstance(); $wwp_wholesale_role = $wwp_wholesale_roles->getUserWholesaleRole(); // Loop through the user role and shipping method pair foreach( $role_shipping_method_arr as $role => $shipping_methods_to_hide ) { // Check if defined role exist in current user role or not if( in_array( $role, $current_user->roles) ) { // Loop through all the shipping rates foreach( $shipping_rates as $shipping_method_key => $shipping_method ) { $shipping_id = $shipping_method->get_id(); // Unset the shipping method if found if( in_array( $shipping_id, $shipping_methods_to_hide) ) { unset($shipping_rates[$shipping_method_key]); } } } } } return $shipping_rates; }); Any insights as to how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. Lyse hi everyone, did not know what to make the subject, but here is what I want to do: I have a string, which gets returned to me from a linux app on my server, it looks something like this: Code: [Select] <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <META HTTP-EQUIV="CONTENT-TYPE" CONTENT="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <TITLE> </TITLE> <META NAME="GENERATOR" CONTENT="OpenOffice.org 3.2 (Linux)"> <META NAME="AUTHOR" CONTENT="Administrator"> <META NAME="CREATED" CONTENT="20110106;14170000"> <META NAME="CHANGEDBY" CONTENT="HOD"> <META NAME="CHANGED" CONTENT="20110522;16540000"> <STYLE TYPE="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 0.26in } P { margin-bottom: 0.15in; direction: ltr; color: #000000; line-height: 0.15in; text-align: justify; widows: 2; orphans: 2 } P.western { font-family: "Arial", sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; so-language: en-US } P.cjk { font-family: "Batang", "바탕", serif; font-size: 10pt } P.ctl { font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 10pt; so-language: ar-SA } A:link { color: #0000ff } --> </STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY LANG="en-US" TEXT="#000000" LINK="#0000ff" DIR="LTR" STYLE="border: 5.05pt double #000000; padding: 0.67in 0.92in"> <P>I want this and the tags around it, just not the html, head, body and their closing tags.</P> </BODY> </HTML> within the body, the tags are each styled for example: <p style="color: red"></p> so I cannot just get rid of all html, I want to get only all the content within the body tags, but without the body tags obviously strip_tags does not work as i need, I only want to strip certain tags. If someone can help me with this i will much appreciate it. I am asking out of curiosity, how does this problem usually get solved, when using a tag system to sort content, and users enter similar tags. For example: flower and flowers... which means the difference between singular and plural. Judging by other sites which are around, this problem is not solved at all, they simply let you add as many tags as you want and then rank the most used tags, it indeed is a solution, but seems more like a walk-around solution to me. Any ideas how somebody could approach to solve this one? EDIT: My suggestion would be an analysis function, which analyzes the entered tag and then suggests the user that similar tags have been already entered and perhaps he wants to choose one of those which have been already entered. This does work though with a high traffic websites what can happen is the following: php and php5 You can end up with two similar tags which are both widely used though have different meanings to the user base. This one could be solved by simply prohibiting similar tags with little additions or changes, and so to speak "forcing" the user to choose something which is already there. May be a way, though it can turn out as a bad solution as well. Do anyone know how i can put the html tags in the same line as the other html tags? Here's an example: Code: [Select] Images | Link | Delete | Enabled On my code, it break the tags to the new line without put on the same line as the other tags. Here's the code: Code: [Select] [code]<?php session_start(); define('DB_HOST', 'localhost'); define('DB_USER', 'myusername'); define('DB_PASSWORD', 'mypass'); define('DB_DATABASE', 'mydbtable'); $errmsg_arr = array(); $errflag = false; $link = mysql_connect(DB_HOST, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD); if(!$link) { die('Failed to connect to server: ' . mysql_error()); } $db = mysql_select_db(DB_DATABASE); if(!$db) { die("Unable to select database"); } function clean($var){ return mysql_real_escape_string(strip_tags($var)); } $username = clean($_GET['user']); $password = clean($_GET['pass']); if($username == '') { $errmsg_arr[] = 'username ID missing'; $errflag = true; } if($password == '') { $errmsg_arr[] = 'PASSWORD ID missing'; $errflag = true; } if($errflag) { $_SESSION['ERRMSG_ARR'] = $errmsg_arr; echo implode('<br />',$errmsg_arr); } else { $qry="SELECT * FROM members WHERE username='$username' AND passwd='$password'"; $result=mysql_query($qry) or die('Error:<br />' . $qry . '<br />' . mysql_error()); if(mysql_num_rows($result) > 0) { $qrytable1="SELECT images, id, public FROM members WHERE username='$username'"; $result1=mysql_query($qrytable1) or die('Error:<br />' . $qry . '<br />' . mysql_error()); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result1)) { echo '<p id="images"> <a href="images.php?id='.$row['id'].'">Images</a></td> | <a href="http://' . $row["links"] . '">Link</a> </td> | <a href="delete.php?id='.$row['id'].'">Delete</a> </td> | <p> <p id="test">'.$row['Public'].'</td>''; } } } ?>[/code] Say I have the following text stored in a MySQL database... Code: [Select] <b>Classic Quote from movie</b> and I retrieve it into a variable called $text, how do I properly echo that so that it keeps the bold tags and actually display the text "Classic quote from movie" in BOLD? I'm doing something wrong somewhere along the line (simply doing "echo $text;") because it displays on the page as... Code: [Select] <b>Classic Quote from movie</b> Instead of... Classic Quote from movie Any info on properly storing and echoing back HTML would be very appreciated. |
