PHP - Mysql-query Based On Bbcode
Hi!
Can anyone please help me form script for doing a MySQL query based on variables in a bbcode? BBCode could be like this: [datatype::dataid] Explode datatype and dataid intro separate strings and using them in querys. Example of string containing bbcodes: Code: [Select] $body = "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Morbi fringilla, enim eget dictum sodales, enim velit iaculis dolor, sed congue orci diam id ipsum. Integer ullamcorper elit ac arcu condimentum id elementum arcu tempus. Ut aliquam commodo eros, mollis tristique magna adipiscing eu. [video::3456] Duis congue turpis quis eros porta eu sollicitudin mi porttitor. Ut ac nisi id risus imperdiet aliquet. Suspendisse lacinia sem id ipsum blandit egestas. Mauris id vulputate ligula. In in quam urna. Nam purus augue, laoreet vel sodales nec, rutrum non augue. [video::6789] Phasellus facilisis commodo arcu, vel dapibus tortor pretium eu. Integer elit nisi, condimentum ut vehicula eget, ullamcorper non quam. Nullam suscipit tempor consequat. Vestibulum sollicitudin ante tristique neque vestibulum a fermentum nulla venenatis. In eget nulla nulla."; I found something close he http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2801228/php-bbcode-with-sql-selection Similar TutorialsTo accomplish the layout I was looking for, I used the following code: for ($i=1; $i<=7; $i++) { //set day of week for display as title of columns $dow=date("l", strtotime($year.'W'."$weekno"."$i")); echo "<td class=\"wvcolumn\" valign=\"top\"> <table cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" border=\"0\" align=\"center\" width=\"$daycolumn\"> <tr><th class=\"wvtitle\" valign=\"bottom\" align=\"center\" width=\"$daycolumn\"><a class=\"titledate\" href=\"createticket.php?action=o&month=".date("m", strtotime($year.'W'."$weekno"."$i"))."&date=".date("d", strtotime($year.'W'."$weekno"."$i"))."&year=".date("Y", strtotime($year.'W'."$weekno"."$i"))."\">$dow, ".date("F d", strtotime($year.'W'.$weekno."$i"))."</a> <a onClick=\"window.open('http://www.batchgeo.com')\" title=\"Map $dow's Appointments\" href=\"mapday.php?week=$weekno&year=$year&day=$i\"><img width=\"20\" style=\"border-style: none\" src=\"../images/icon_globe.png\"></a></th></tr>"; if(date("Y-m-d")==date("Y-m-d", strtotime($year.'W'."$weekno"."$i"))) { $query = "SELECT fieldtickets.ticketnumber, fieldtickets.business, title, apptdatetime, DATE_FORMAT(apptdatetime,'%h:%i %p') AS fapptdatetime, status, billstatus, type, assigntech, clients.business FROM fieldtickets LEFT JOIN clients ON fieldtickets.business = clients.id WHERE status='Open' AND (type = 'Field' OR type = 'Phone') AND apptdatetime BETWEEN '".date("Y-m-d", strtotime($year.'W'."$weekno"."$i"))." 00:00:00' AND '".date("Y-m-d", strtotime($year.'W'."$weekno"."$i"))." 23:59:59' UNION SELECT fieldtickets.ticketnumber, fieldtickets.business, title, apptdatetime, DATE_FORMAT(apptdatetime,'%h:%i %p') AS fapptdatetime, status, billstatus, type, assigntech, clients.business FROM fieldtickets LEFT JOIN clients ON fieldtickets.business = clients.id WHERE status = 'Pending' ORDER BY status ASC, apptdatetime ASC"; } else { $query = "SELECT fieldtickets.ticketnumber, fieldtickets.business, title, apptdatetime, DATE_FORMAT(apptdatetime,'%h:%i %p') AS fapptdatetime, status, billstatus, type, assigntech, clients.business FROM fieldtickets LEFT JOIN clients ON fieldtickets.business = clients.id WHERE status='Open' AND (type = 'Field' OR type = 'Phone') AND apptdatetime BETWEEN '".date("Y-m-d", strtotime($year.'W'.$weekno."$i"))." 00:00:00' AND '".date("Y-m-d", strtotime($year.'W'.$weekno."$i"))." 23:59:59' ORDER BY apptdatetime ASC"; } $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ //if ticket is open show appt time and business, if ticket pending display DELIVERY and business name if($row[status]=="Open") { $href="createticket.php?action=e&ticket=".$row[ticketnumber]; $time=$row[fapptdatetime]; $delivery=""; } elseif($row[status]=="Pending") { $href="createticket.php?action=c&ticket=".$row['ticketnumber'].""; $time=""; $delivery="DELIVER"; } echo "<tr><td valign=\"top\"><a title=\"".$row[ticketnumber]." - ".$row[title]."\" class=\"".$row[status]."\" href=\"$href\"><span>$delivery$time ".substr($row['business'], 0, $displaychars)."</span></a></td></tr>\n"; } echo "</table>"; } echo "</td></tr> </table>"; Output is similar to this, and any existing "deliveries" are displayed under the current day. _________________________________________________ ______________ | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | |appointments |appointments |appointments |appointments |appointments This works great, but requires 5 separate queries. My database is very small for now, so its not a big deal, but I know this can be done much more efficiently. How can I query the whole week and put appointments in their corresponding tables (days)? Thank you for your help! Here is my code: // Start MySQL Query for Records $query = "SELECT codes_update_no_join_1b" . "SET orig_code_1 = new_code_1, orig_code_2 = new_code_2" . "WHERE concat(orig_code_1, orig_code_2) = concat(old_code_1, old_code_2)"; $results = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); // End MySQL Query for Records This query runs perfectly fine when run direct as SQL in phpMyAdmin, but throws this error when running in my script??? Why is this??? Code: [Select] You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '= new_code_1, orig_code_2 = new_code_2WHERE concat(orig_code_1, orig_c' at line 1 If you also have any feedback on my code, please do tell me. I wish to improve my coding base. Basically when you fill out the register form, it will check for data, then execute the insert query. But for some reason, the query will NOT insert into the database. In the following code below, I left out the field ID. Doesn't work with it anyways, and I'm not sure it makes a difference. I hope one of you santas would be so kind as to help me with it. First off I have two tables; employee and employee_works both connected via employee_id key. Basically I have a parent window we'll call parent.php. inside the parent page is a search button that once clicked will open a child window we'll call child.php inside the child page is a list, lets say employees with name, employee_id, etc. My main concern is this: How do I populate parent.php based off the employee selection I made in the child window. Example: -Access parent.php -Click on search -Click on [ID: 004] [NAME: JOHN SMITH] [PHONE: 1233456] [DATE HIRED: JULY 16, 1992] <---format of a row in child.php -child.php automatically closes and parent.php now shows all data from employee_works with the employee_id = 004 Is this even possible? I know this is vary vague and would be willing to explain more if needed. My website is built mostly on javascript and php. I'm very new to this and really could use some help. I've got a Web app that has one form that collects data from the user and puts it into a mysql database and has another form that allows the user to select critiera to find records in the database and display them on the page. All this is working just fine, but now that my database is getting more data in it, I want to add functionality to display 10 records on a page with results page navigation links so the user can move forward and backward in the results set. This part is not working and I've put in echo statements to figure out what the code is doing. The problem I'm having is that when the selection critiera pulls more than 10 records from the database, the first page of results is correct per the selection criteria entered by the user on the select form. When the 'next' link is selected to review the second page of results, the query is executed again. But this time the form variables have been reset and the results now contains the entire contents of the db. The start record is set to look at the 11th instance of the results set, so the second page starts with the 11th record in the database instead of the 11th record in the original results set. The original select statement is built by determining which criteria is selected using $_POST against each form variable. How can I retain the form variables or the original select statement so the second execution of the select statement results in the same results set as the first? The other option that may be better is to retain the original results set and avoid re-executing the select statement altogether. But I don't know how to do that either. Any suggestions, code samples or adivice is much appreciated! This topic has been moved to mod_rewrite. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=315834.0 Hi Folks, This is my first post here and I was wondering if anyone could help me out at all please. I would basically like to change the logo on the home page based on whether a query string from a referring URL has a specific value. It's an affiliate URL for an online store, so essentially I need to get the referrer, check if the query string adnetwork = as and then replace the logo if it does, if not leave it as it is. Does that make sense? Any help would very much appreciated. I was thinking along the lines of: <?php if ($_GET('adnetwork') == 'as') { changeLogo(); } else { leaveLogo(); } ?> Am I along the right lines folks? I'm restarting this under a new subject b/c I learned some things after I initially posted and the subject heading is no longer accurate. What would cause this behavior - when I populate session vars from a MYSQL query, they stick, if I populate them from an MSSQL query, they drop. It doesn't matter if I get to the next page using a header redirect or a form submit. I have two session vars I'm loading from a MYSQL query and they remain, the two loaded from MSSQL disappear. I have confirmed that all four session vars are loading ok initially and I can echo them out to the page, but when the application moves to next page via redirect or form submit, the two vars loaded from MSSQL are empty. Any ideas? Hi Guys. Hopefully someone can help me with this...New to coding and pretty lost on this. I have a Mysql database which is displaying results to my webpage with no problems. However I would like to be able to add a combo box to my webpage that would update the mysql database results based on the combo box selection. For example if Ford is chosen from the combo box, the webpage would refresh and show all the results for Ford in the webpage. Can someone please help me? Here is the code I have at the moment that works just fine. But results of the database are based on the WHERE statement. Quote <?php $con = mysql_connect("server","database","password"); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("a5525005_cars", $con); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `cars` WHERE Makel='Ford'"); echo "<table class='ex1' border='0' width='113%' style=text-align:center; cellpadding='6' cellspacing='0'> </tr>"; while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<tr style=font-family:verdana;font-size:80%;>"; echo "<td width=13%>" . $row[""] . "<img src=\"" . $row["Photo"] . "\"></a>"; echo '<td width="14%"><a class="mylink" href="' . $row['URL'] . '">' . $row['Model'] . '</a></td>'; echo '<td width="5%"><a class="mylink" href="' . $row['URL'] . '">' . $row['Year'] . '</a></td>'; echo '<td width="4%"><a class="mylink" href="' . $row['URL'] . '">' . $row['Fuel'] . '</a></td>'; echo "</tr>"; } echo "</table>"; mysql_close($con); ?> I used search function, could not find a subject that addressed my need. I hope I am not repeating a well answered question.
I have two MySql fields I want to hyperlink, but not as text links, but with an image.
Here is truncated code, if more deatail is need, I can post. Both links work fine now, but show the person's email name and google map link text - looks unproffessional and I think the email links may be able to be harvested by spammers.
The E-mail link:
echo "<td><a href=mailto:".$row['email'] . ">" .$row['email'] . "</a></td>";
The Google map link:
echo "<td><a target='_blank' href=".$row['location_map_link'] . ">" .$row['location_map_link'] . "</a></td>";
Can we use images in this code?
I am not a PHP coder!!
Ron I created a "statistics of site" page, stats.php. Currently stats.php updates every visit, that's over 25 queries for every visit, with over 9,000 visits a day, I wish to cut down. What is the best way to make it so all queries are done every hour, therefore requiring less queries to the database? I assume the best way to go at this would be either to run a time() based script every 60 minutes and: - update this to a new field, then stats.php will require 1 query every visit, plus the 1 every hour. or - update a text file and read that each stats.php visit, meaning just the 1 query every hour. Now, I understand the second option will run much less queries overall, but is it the best way to go? Is there a better way to go about doing this? so im trying to setup a page for my bills that i pay monthly so me and my gf can access it remotely whenever we need to. we have a few loans that we are paying off in installment loans every month so i created a table like the picture below (which is actually in excel but it looks about the same). i know how to pull via select and sum everything that i need but what i'm actually going for is this: every month on those certain due dates i'd like for the monthly payment to be subtracted from the balance automatically..and it show the reflected balance. i'm not sure how to go about such a thing though as i've never worked with dates and times. my logic is that i have to setup a beginning time stamp for it to work off of..and then every 30 days from that time stamp..subtract the payment. then again, there's not always 30 days in a month and it'd get off track. any ideas? How would I go about creating a script to check a date in mysql and if that date is within X days it will send an email alert. I'm working on a store locator style program. I first get and sort all zip codes based on a their distance to an original location. I then use that zip code array to find all stores in the mysql database, but when I get the results, they're no longer arranged by distance from the original location.. and I can't just sort them ascending or descending based on their zip codes because that doesn't sort them correctly either. So I need to sort the data I get from the mysql database based on their "zip_code" column and in order from the $zip array.. Here's an example of what $zip looks like.. the zip code is the key and the distance from the original zip is the value [meaning the first key is the $originalZip]: Array ( [70601] => 0 [70616] => 1.12 [70629] => 1.2 [70612] => 1.24 [70602] => 1.31 [70615] => 1.88 [70609] => 3.41 [70605] => 4.4 [70669] => 4.62 [70606] => 4.9 [70611] => 7.23 [70607] => 9.68 [70663] => 9.74 ) and then I create the $WHERE variable by each key supplied: $WHERE = "WHERE zip_code='$originalZip'"; foreach ($zip as $key => $value) { if ($key == $originalZip) {} else { $WHERE .= " OR zip_code='$key'"; } } } Then I do the query [with a paginator]: $query = query("SELECT * FROM " . $db['prefix'] . "stores $WHERE LIMIT $from, $maxResults"); but when I print the data, it doesn't keep the correct sorting format.. if (mysql_num_rows($query) > 0) { for ($i = 0; $i<mysql_num_rows($query); $i++) { $storeData = mysql_fetch_array($query, MYSQL_ASSOC); // print store information here such as $storeData['name'] $storeData['address'] $storeData['zip_code'] } } Is there an easy way to sort the mysql results based on the $zip array? i am looking for simple php mysql base event calender..that shows upcoming events...i would very helpful for your help.any tutorial.video.or helping link..??

For example, the user might need to search zipcode and username but not gender, but in another case, might need to search username and gender, but not zipcode. Obviously I could just do some if/else statements, but that would be increasingly more difficult as there are more fields. What can I do? We recently upgraded from PHP4 to PHP5 and the below script that was working perfectly in 4 has completely stopped working and I can't figure out why for the life of me. I'm not an experienced PHP programmer--I've done some forms, but this is the first time I've used a database. What needs to (and was) happen: A user enters their username in the form and gets a readout of their participation so far that month. The problem(s): I know that it's storing the variable 'user' because it echoes it back properly, but the database is no longer allowing me to select the row based on that variable. I know it's not that I can't connect to the database because if instead of '$user' I change the code to a username I know is in there, I get the proper readout. This all started as soon as I transferred over to PHP5--before that, no problems at all. The database information is all correct, I just took it out for privacy's sake. <form id="feedback" method="post" action="index.php"> <input name="user" type="text" value="Enter user name" size="20" maxlength="50" /><br /> <input name="send" id="send" type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> <?php if (isset($_POST['user'])) { $_session['user'] = $_POST['user']; } ?> <p>You entered your username as: <strong><? echo $_session['user'];?></strong>. If this is not correct or you do not see your information below, please re-enter your username and click Submit again.</p> <?php $con = mysql_connect("database","username","password"); if (!$con) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("database", $con); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM March WHERE Username='$user'") or die ('Error: '.mysql_error ()); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<table border='0'>"; echo "<tr>"; echo "<td><strong>Username:</strong> </td><td>" . $row['Username'] . "</td></tr>"; echo "</tr>"; } echo "</table>"; mysql_close($con); ?> ANY help would be greatly appreciated! I've got a couple hundred people who use this on a regular basis and are starting to ask why it's not working. Hi all, I have a number of tables within a mysql database and I'm stuck on how to pull information from one based on the results being displayed by another. The site shows items for sale where by all the product information is held in tablea, when an individual item is being displayed I need to be able to pull a manufacturer profile from tableb based on the manufacturer name stored in tablea column profile. The manufacturer name is already being called into the page by existing code as the site has always shown the manufacturer name, I just can't work out out to pull the new profile information in as well from the new table. Any help appreciated Iain I am new to PHP. I have been trying to do some research online for a few days and not getting very far. I feel like I know less now than I did before I started. Here's the story: I've set up a LAMP server that runs a Wiki and AppGini (http://www.bigprof.com/appgini/) - AppGini allows you to "Create web database applications instantly without writing any code" - The only downside we have with it, is it's got it's own set of user accounts. My team all logs in with the default admin account which isn't a big deal but we'd prefer to use LDAP to AD for reasons I won't get into right now. I emailed AppGini support and asked about LDAP integration. Their response was that it's "a little bit of work" and "You can modify the login authentication function to authenticate using LDAP ... please see the example code he http://code.activestate.com/recipes/101525-ldap-authentication/ (needs some modifications to work with AppGini)" I've googled around and found 2 dozen different LDAP PHP samples. I've gotten some of them to work. By work I mean they connect to my domain controller and say "success" I'm not actually logged into anything. So I'm looking for a little help from square one. I need to have a better understanding of how things are supposed to work so I know where I'm supposed to go with all of this. Where do I start? What do I do? What would YOU do?
