The first has all the options that the user can select which they can select and transfer to the other multi list select box. I have used javascript to create the buttons which allow you to add and remove selections from the right multi list box. Once I hit submit all the selections go to a mysql database, which is fine. However my problem is that the selected options don't stay in the right hand mulit list box after submission. So I need to know how I can keep them in there, or maybe populate that right hand multi list box with the submitted selections. FYI: once the selections are submitted they are stored in a text field in mysql database, so I need them to come back, as options in the right hand multi list box. User clicks on button to add an item to the right select element with id of select2 from the left select element with an id of select1. When they click update, it posts to a php method. This is where I am uncertain what to do. How can I check that they indeed added or removed items from the right select element and if they did, determine which ones were removed or added to make the reflected changes in the database? I am building an Event Registration system, and am thinking that it should put the Attendee's name on the Ticket (and in the database) as a backup. Is there a way to easily (and dynamically) display the same number of Text-Boxes as the # of Attendees entered? For example, let's say the Customer (payor) wants to buy Tickets for herself and 5 friends to a Banjo Festival. Right now, I just have a drop-down box to capture the head-count, but it would be nice to have 5 Text-Boxes (or something appear) so that the Customer can easily type in the Names of the 5 Attendees *without* having to suffer numerous other clicks and/or screens. My problem is, iam loading with mysql_fetch_array a table from my database and draw it into my website page.
The table is a user table which has an id, user, password and rights(Admin, Mod , User).
Only the rights are given out as <select> </select> boxes with the 3 options(Admin, Mod , User).
And i also have 1 more column which has for each row a href to a new site with the id of the array_index as paramter.
My Problem is i want to know which select box was changed and which option is selected so i can change the rights in my database of this user with the right id.
At the moment i cant post the code in here cause i have a problem with my laptop now.

I want to have a multi level dropdown selection tool come out of an array (not database; almost all of available codes on the internet are based on mysql databse). I have an array as each element has this format: "Country | City | ID". Using explode, I want to make a dropdown to choose the country, then choosing the cities of the chosen country. I've run into an issue I can't seem to figure out how to work around. I want to have two select boxes, that are dependent on one another. For Example: First box lists types of games: RPG LARP Board Game Miniatures CCG The second box displays game names of the type selected above. I have a MySQL table setup for the second box. To be honest I kinda already have it working... with one small but MAJOR glitch. I select the first box and the page submits using onchange='this.form.submit()'. When the page reloads the first select box reverts back to it's default setting, but the second box does correctly filter & show the content based on the selection that was made in the first box. My Question: How do I set this up so that the first box displays the user selected setting while also passing the $_POST information to the second box? I want to then loop over each box so for example: Code: [Select] $boxes = $_POST['test']; foreach ( $boxes as $box ) // now here i would of expected $box to be an array of the options, } but it's not working like this, all the options from all submitted select boxes come in one array so I cannot distinguish which select box in the array they relate to, is there a way to do this?? |
