PHP - Pdo Return Array Deformed

Hi,Dear Frnds...........................I Hope U r all fine.
I am using php.Here is the problem in the Return array from function.
This is the code.

SELECT field, (array of values from table 2) FROM $table1 t1 LEFT JOIN $table2 ON t1.id=t2.id

... is something like this possible? (where I return records from t1 in a LEFT JOIN, but also get an array of any of the fields/records from the table 2)

So I had a block of code inside my photo-gallery.php script that took the path to my photos directory, and went to that directory, and then read all of the photo filenames into an array.  Then in my HTML, I iterate through this array to display all of the photos for my gallery.

Now I would like to move that code to an included file so multiple scripts can access it and always be working with the same array.

It seems to me that I need to encapsulate my code inside a function?

Then I could call my getPhotoFilesArray back to my callings cript, and use that array for whatever.

I haven't coded PHP in like 4 years and I am struggling to return the entire array back to my caling script.

This is what I have so far...

	function getPhotoFilesArray($photoPath){
	     $photoFiles = array();
	     <code to find corresponding files>
	     $photoFiles gets populated in a loop
	     return $photoFiles;
	}
	

 

Then in my calling script, I have...

I get some error...

Hey all I am just now getting around to the newest version of the PHP sdk for Facebook. It seems to use a new array of returned data that I can not seem to be able to parse out what I need and not all other gibberish it has contained inside the array. The array returned looks like this:

In the older version of the Facebook SDK I just needed to do something along these lines (below code example is getting the id within the returned array and checking also to make sure it has a value or not):

in order to get the value that I needed. I have also tried:

and that just gives me 0's for each one it finds..   Now the return has an added stdClass object within the array itself and I am unsure on how to go about getting id, name & picture url from it. Any help would be awesome!

I'm not versed in PHP OOP and I have some code that I need to echo out onto a page. I don't know what the meaning of $ct->something is in this code. Is this an array of some type? How do I echo out the $ct->title onto another page? Use a function call? I just don't know what all of the $ct variables are and how to get to them. Any help is appreciated.

So im building a Content Management System for my A2 project in Computing, and i have a dataBase class. Now, i can return one thing, or do things like inserts however im having a problem returning a list of things such as:

$list doesnt return anything, the previous method i used in the class was to make a list and an array and put the contents of the query in an array like:

My tree gather function gives me multidimensional array. However i want it to be one dimensional . I was getting one dimensional earlier however i forgot how i got it. Can someone please tell me my mistake

I'm making a registration form, that will put each entered item into $_POST, which will then submit to the same page.
First, I need to has the password with this method:

I need to pass the now prepared $_POST array into a loop, that executes the prepare method on each item in the array and then puts it in an array again.
Also, how could I do some kind of function that checks if all required fields were filled, and how I can fail the submission if invalid characters were used.

I have a combobox with the "multiple" property.  when two items are selected, the combobox "name" property has an array that passes to the $_POST variable. what i would like is those two words to be displayed on the same line.
I have tried rtrim($var, "\r\n") but that does nothing.

the reason i need them on the same line is because i would change then to "hello, world" and then add them as a mysql query, for example... $query = "SELECT hello, world FROM table...

I've done pretty much everything I can come up with.
The method itself works fine, if I print_r(); just before returning it, it successfully returns the array.
But once returned, it's empty.

Hi, I have a multidimensional array where each array has a parent id node to create a hierarchical tree.


$hierarchy[] = array('id' => 1, 'parent_id' => 0, 'name' = 'root1');
$hierarchy[] = array('id' => 2, 'parent_id' => 0, 'name' = 'root2');
$hierarchy[] = array('id' => 3, 'parent_id' => 1, 'name' = 'root1-1');
$hierarchy[] = array('id' => 4, 'parent_id' => 1, 'name' = 'root1-2');
$hierarchy[] = array('id' => 5, 'parent_id' => 3, 'name' = 'root1-1-1');
$hierarchy[] = array('id' => 6, 'parent_id' => 2, 'name' = 'root2-1');


I'm trying to come up with a recursive key/value search routine that will return all ancestor arrays of the found item without knowing the depth of the tree.  All nodes with 0 for the parent_id are root level nodes.

Basically I want to search for something like "where key = name and value = xxx" and have it return all ancestors of that node.

So if I wanted to search for "key = name and value = root1-1", it should return and array like:

array[0] = array('id' => 1, 'parent_id' => 0, 'name' = 'root1'); //parent node first
array[1] = array('id' => 3, 'parent_id' => 1, 'name' = 'root1-1');  //first child after parent

if I was to search for "key = name and value = root1-1-1", it should return:

array[0] = array('id' => 1, 'parent_id' => 0, 'name' = 'root1'); //parent node first
array[1] = array('id' => 3, 'parent_id' => 1, 'name' = 'root1-1');  //first child after parent
array[2] = array('id' => 5, 'parent_id' => 3, 'name' = 'root1-1-1'); //first grandchild

So the main problem comes in the iteration and keeping track of parents.  If I just want the array with the answer I can get that node, but I can't get it with all of the ancestors attached.  How would you go about this?  Any good ideas out there?

I have a web server which contains a public site and a private site. I want to be able to test for public or private using the page title and return the appropriate header which contains a different banner, css etc.

Firstly - the syntax below seems to be incorrect because it doesnt work correctly.
More importantly how do I add all the values to an array and than iterate through it to check for a matching page title?
