I've been poking around online for about a day now trying to find a good way to do the following: I have an "order" I'm reading in from a MySQL database (not completely relevant, but just fyi). And, for this order there are a number of "parts" (automotive parts) that have been ordered. For each part there is data pertaining to the quantity of parts that have been ordered and the number of parts that have been allocated (based on our inventory) and then a third column that has the number of parts still in that order that are still to be allocated at a future date. Basically, I'm displaying this data in a form with each row having a checkbox to the far left. What I want to do is allow the user to check any number of check boxes. If a check box is checked the form should submit all of the input text boxes for that row (the user can update the quantities) that I talked about in the second paragraph for that "part" (each part is displayed in a row and has a checkbox). Unfortunately, most of the examples I found for checkboxes in a form submit a specific value (like a number of a letter). I need the form to submit the values that are in the textboxes. So basically, I'm thinking I need the page to update a PHP object whenever the value of a textbox is changed and then when the user clicks a button it will send the php object for each checked row through GET or POST. But, how would I get it to onchange update a PHP object (the PHP object would need to be a 2-D array where the first index allows you to select the part and the second index allows you to select which quantity you will change). I'm thinking I would need to call a script from the onchange like: onchange="somePHPfunction(partNumberIndex, whichQuantityI'mChanging, currentValueOfThatQuantity)" but of course that would require me to embed some php inside the onchange call since the partNumberIndex and whichQuantity are PHP variables.. Any ideas on how to do this sort of thing? Or any ideas on how to do this differently? I'm trying to avoid javascript because it would place a javascript constraint on the users. But, maybe there's no other way to do this sort of thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated! This topic has been moved to JavaScript Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=318062.0 Here's a question for all you great php programmers. What I want to do is use a variable username as the name of a select input of a form. I.E echo"<select name='$user'>"; Of course this code doesn't work though I feel sure that there must be a way to do this. Anyone know it? Hi there, Can anybody help me to write php/javascript code which will allow users to open files directly from web browser into desktop application? Here is the specification: I have a photo editing business with many people working in Photoshop. I am currently developing a web based application (joblist) using Javascript and PHP which should allow the photoshop designers to browse and open files/images directly from joblist/web browser into photoshop. The reason I want this instead of browsing folder is that I have a database where I store who worked on which file, when and how long it took. The concept is that, designers will select a file and click on start, as soon as they click on start the original file will open in Photoshop and there will be an entry into database (using PHP). Once they finish the task they will close the file and click on Finish button. My joblist application will be published in a local server and the file will be open on a local network, so when they save the file it will be saved where the source file is located in (local server). The application should work in both PC and Mac. I have already done all other part of the application except file opening directly from browser to desktop application functionality. Anybody can help me to write the code (PHP or Javascript) which can open the file from browser (local server) directly into desktop application e.g. PHotoshop or Illustrator? Thank you very much I look forward to someone's real help! Best regards Mr. Sumon <?php shell_exe ("172.18.9.25\photoshop\photoshop.exe"); ?> When I run this from the server computer program opening. But when i tried from a diferent computer it is only downloading the exe file to the client computer. How can I open the application from a diferent computer in the same network. I am a little experienced with PHP sessions, but not totally as I haven't got my head completely around its logic yet, as your about to see. I wonder wondering how I can go about adding a session entity from a HTML form input? I'm guessing it will be something like: $_POST['name'] => $_SESSION['delivery']['name']; Then, to echo the session entity, you would simply do something like: echo $_SESSION['delivery']['name']; ? Hi All,
I have a form with a jquery autocomplete input field. Once the user has entered 2 characters, there is a list of values (people names) containing this string that appears. This works good.
The values come from a database table with two fields (names and ids). The query that extracts the names also retreives the values in the id field.
What would be the syntax to set the "value" attribut of the input tag to the id of a name when the user clicks on that name in the list?
The PHP part that builds the json is :
$data[] = array( 'label' => $row['name'], 'value' => $row['name'], 'id' => $row['id'] ); echo json_encode($data);The JS begins as follows : jQuery(document).ready(function(){ $('#input_id').autocomplete({source:'my_jquery_suggest.php', select: function(event, ui) { $(event.target).val(ui.item.value); $('#form_id').submit(); return false; }, minLength:2,delay: 1000}).focus(function () { window.pageIndex = 0; $(this).autocomplete("search"); }); ...Thanks for your help. Hi, I have made a basic html site and it has two forms on it. I have the forms linking to a file called process.php. Basically i need to know what code to put in the php file in order for the forms to save whatever is entered in them to a txt file on my server or computer. Or any other easier way to do the same thing, save the content of two forms on my site. Hope i posted this in the right forum subject. Thanks very much for anyone that helps. I am trying to make a set of radio buttons that when you make a selection, it displays a sorted database from MYSQL. I have the MYSQL part figured out but I cannot figure out how to properly display it. I have the following code and I made a select screen just to test: index.html <html> <body> <form action="select.php" method="post"> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table1"> Table 1 <br> <br> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table2">Table 2 <br> <br> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table3">Table 3 <br> <br> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table4">Table 4 <br> <br> <input type="radio" name="table" value="table5">Table 5 <br> <br> <input type="Submit" Name = "submit" value="Submit"> <input type="Reset" value="Reset"> </form> </body></html> select.php <?PHP $selected_radio = $_POST["table"]; if ($selected_radio = = 'table1) { echo "Table 1 Here."; } else if ($selected_radio = = 'table2') { echo "Table 2 Here."; } else if ($selected_radio = = 'table3') { echo "Table 3 Here."; } else if ($selected_radio = = 'table4') { echo "Table 4 Here."; } else if ($selected_radio = = 'table5') { echo "Table 5 Here."; } ?> These are two separate files. When I go to run the code, no matter what I pick, the next page is always blank. Again, the select.php is just suppose to be a check, the real code will display the table instead of echoing a message. I know this is 'old stuff', but I am new to this and very frustrated- I am trying to pass a variable to a new url via an html onclick event, and failing. I have found several posts about it but the code posted in those posts does not work when I try it. I have struggled mightly with this. Here is my code: first an echo of two versions of the onclick statement, and two versions of the actual button code. The echos from the two versions appear identical, but the first button with no variable works while the second using a variable results in no action. Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution? I suspect there is some simple principal I am missing relating to parsing strings. <?php echo "window.location.href='ManageTitles.php?dog=2'"; echo "\n" ; echo "window.location.href='ManageTitles.php?dog={$row_rsDogsowned['idDogInfo']}'"; ?> <form methd="POST" Name="form3" action="<?php echo $editFormAction; ?>"> <input type="button" value="works" onclick="window.location.href='ManageTitles.php?dog=2'" /> <input type=button onclick="window.location.href='ManageTitles.php?dog={$row_rsDogsowned['idDogInfo']}'" value="fails" /> </form The PHP code sends me an email from the server, but the user input is empty or "blank". I only receive: "From: \ Email: \ Subject: \ Message: " and that's it. How do I fix my PHP and/or HTML code to receive user input from the form? Attached is my existing HTML and PHP code that doesn't send me any "user input" from the form. Thanks to anyone who can help!!
Hello World, I need some tips on how to make a button that does something like the code below. .......echo '<tr><td align="left"><a href="add_cart.php?pid=' . $row1['item_id'] . '">Add to Cart</a></td>........ I've been messing with html form and button type with no success. This code does the job but I prefer a button. Thanks I have a page that contains a List box containing a list of categories taken from a mysql database, 4 iframe elements and 4 submit button (code to follow)
When an item is selected from the List box the onchange event submits the page to jobs.php and loads it into the joblist iframe. Once the iframe is loaded and visible it makes the "Add Job To Category" submit button visible. This all works great
When I click the "Add Job To Category" Submit button it loads Jobnew.php into the jobed iframe this is working but I can not seem to figure out how to pass the selected item from the List box using this submit button
I hope I am clear in my question if not please advise any help is very much appreciated....
