Note i have no ability to change phpconfig. I have created a registration page to access my website. After the user registrate himself should appear an alert saying that the registration was OK and a redirect to main.php page... however for some reason if I create an insert statement the alert and the redirect don't appear... If I remove the insert the alert and the redirect works... why? This is part of the code of my 3 files: registration.php (ajax call) $('#submit').click(function() {var username2 = $('#uname2').val(); var password2 = $('#psw2').val(); $.ajax({ url: 'ajax/response.php', type: 'GET', data: {username2 : username2, password2: password2}, success: function(data) { if(data === 'correct') { alert("Username and Password have been created!"); //don' work with the insert location.replace("main.php"); //don' work with the insert } else { alert("Username or password are not correct... please register yourself!"); } } }); }); response.php (answer to ajax call) if(isset($_GET['username2']) && isset($_GET['password2'])) {$username2 = $_GET['username2']; $password2 = $_GET['password2']; if (checkUser($pdo, $username2) === true) { echo 'duplicate'; } else { insertUserPwd($pdo, $username2, $password2); //including this line the redirect and the alert doesn't work... the insert is OK echo 'correct'; } } data_access.php (the function works but doesn't permit alert and redirect to appear) function insertUserPwd(PDO $pdo, $usr, $pwd){ $data = [ 'id' => '', 'user' => $usr, 'password' => $pwd ]; $sql = "INSERT INTO users (id, user, password) VALUES (:id, :user, :password)"; $stmt= $pdo->prepare($sql); $stmt->execute($data); } Can someone help me to fix the code? Hello, guys. I'm using the following code to send me an automated mail in case the user find a broken link. But there are 2 problems: 1) after submitting I'd rather not disrupt their game by refreshing the page. So, is there any way to send mail without the post refreshing? 2) if the user hits F5, the page reloads and the code runs again, sending two or more times the same email. How can I avoid duplicated emails caused by manual browser refresh? (the most important solution currently is how to to avoid duplicated entries, in case an ajax solution is too hard to post here.) <form name="fbrlink" action="<?= $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']."?page=ok" ?>" method="post"> <?php echo('<input name="sbrlink" id="B1" type="button" value="broken Link?" style="border:none; background-color:#FFFFFF; font-family:Trebuchet MS; font-size:15px; font-weight:bold; color:#1A4877; cursor:pointer; display:block; text-decoration:underline;" onclick="this.form.submit();"/>'); ?> <?php if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == 'POST') { if ($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'] == 'page=ok') { echo '<script type="text/javascript" >confirm("Click OK to notify us.");</script>'; mail("contact@ctt.net","report broken link","Game notified:MarioBros"); echo '<script type="text/javascript" >document.fbrlink.sbrlink.disabled = true;</script>'; ?> <script type="text/javascript" >document.fbrlink.action='<?php echo $a; ?>'; alert('<?php $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'];?>'); </script> <?php } else {} }else{ } ?> When I submitted my Form & refresh then browser resend all data again into database, So anybody know any solution of this to avoid data resend after refreshing browser.. Hello, I never really gave a serious thought to the above question until now that I'm trying to actually launch a live site. Well I'm sure most of you are familiar with this situation, where a user my enter a wrong, non existent url, whose root happens to be your domain name. For example, instead of entering domain.com/greetings, the user may wrongly type domain.com/grewtings . How can I make my site to redirect such erroneous urls to my homepage, instead of to my webhost's homepage with an error message? Appreciate all answers. if ($count==1){ header("Location:store.php"); }very simple I have issolated it and it doesn't redirect maybe u can see where my mistake is i have a file connection.php, that contains functions to connect and disconnect from database. the functions are as follows: Code: [Select] <?php //connection.php file function connect() { $con = mysql_connect("localhost","abcd","123456"); if(!$con) die ('Error! could not connect to data to add data'); return $con; } function disconnect($con) { mysql_close($con); } ?> I my intent is to use these functions whenever i would need to connect to database. When i include this file, using include() or require(). I get the warning message, and the page does not redirect to the next page. For example I have created a login page that accepts username and password. The data from this form is "processed" in a login_proc.php file, that redirects the browser to home.php or loginerror.php. But instead of working as I desire, PHP stops with a warning stating the following. Code: [Select] Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home1/mintoo/public_html/bew_system/login_proc.php:5) in /home1/mintoo/public_html/bew_system/login_proc.php on line 20 How do I avoid this warning? This is the code in login_proc.php for your reference Code: [Select] <?php //login_proc.php include 'resources/connection.php'; $con= connect(); ob_flush(); $uname = mysql_real_escape_string(strip_tags(substr($_POST['uname'],0,30))); $pass = mysql_real_escape_string(strip_tags(substr($_POST['pwd'],0,30))); $query = "select userid from mintoo_db1.tbl_users where userid='$uname' and password='$pass'"; $result = mysql_query($query); $nofrows = mysql_num_rows($result); disconnect($con); if($nofrows == 0) echo '<h2>Incorrect Username or Password</h2><br/><a href="login.php">Try again</a>'; else if($nofrows == 1) header("location: home.php"); else echo '<h2><u> Error-001:</u>An unexpected error has occured. Please go back and try again after some time or contact system administrator</h2>'; ?> EDIT: Solved it Made the following changes to login_proc.php Code: [Select] <?php ob_start(); include 'resources/connection.php'; $con= connect(); $uname = mysql_real_escape_string(strip_tags(substr($_POST['uname'],0,30))); $pass = mysql_real_escape_string(strip_tags(substr($_POST['pwd'],0,30))); $query = "select userid from mintoo_db1.tbl_users where userid='$uname' and password='$pass'"; $result = mysql_query($query); $nofrows = mysql_num_rows($result); disconnect($con); if($nofrows == 0) echo '<h2>Incorrect Username or Password</h2><br/><a href="login.php">Try again</a>'; else if($nofrows == 1) { header("location: home.php"); } else echo '<h2><u> Error-001:</u>An unexpected error has occured. Please go back and try again after some time or contact system administrator</h2>'; ob_flush(); ?> Trying to make my code more secure. This is what I currently have, which is not secure by any means: Code: [Select] $query1 = "SELECT COLUMN_NAME, DATA_TYPE, ORDINAL_POSITION, COLUMN_DEFAULT, CHARACTER_MAXIMUM_LENGTH, IS_NULLABLE FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_NAME='$table'"; // Run PRO query $qresult1 = sqlsrv_query($dbPRO, $query1); if ($qresult1 === false) { exitWithSQLError('Retrieving schema failed.'); } This is how I changed it, Code: [Select] $query1 = "SELECT COLUMN_NAME, DATA_TYPE, ORDINAL_POSITION, COLUMN_DEFAULT, CHARACTER_MAXIMUM_LENGTH, IS_NULLABLE FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_NAME=?"; $params = array(1, $table); // Run PRO query $qresult1 = sqlsrv_query($dbPRO, $query1, $params); if ($qresult1 === false) { exitWithSQLError('Retrieving schema failed.'); } but I'm getting this error: Code: [Select] SQL-Status: 22018 Code: 245 Message: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value 'sysrscols' to data type int Please notice I am using sqlsrv_query function because my database engine is MS-SQL 2008. That's why I'm a bit confused. Most documentation online is pointed to MySQL. exitWithSQLError is a customized function of mine, so please ignore. Any help or hints is appreciated, Thanks, I have a php page that is maid up of three pieces. header.php main.php footer.php I can't figure out how to refresh the header.php and footer.php without refreshing the main.php. Anyone have an example of how I can do this. Thanks hits I have 2 frames and let say i have run certain script on frame1 and it redirect me to other page (execute script) and back again to frame1. What i want to ask is how can i refresh the other frame which is frame 2 once header() has been executed. thanks.. Is it possible to refresh parent page before header() So let say i have 2 page, and 1st page is parent page and the other is pop up window Assume that there is an execution of certain script at the pop up window and it redirected to another page and redirected back again to that page As certain data being displayed in both pop up window and parent page..so i wish to have parent page being refreshed once pop up window execute header() is that possible?? How can one re-direct a visitor, without using a header re-direct? I'd like a page to show up, then after about 5 seconds I need the visitor sent to another page. How can I do this? If I do something like header(Location: www.url.com). Is there a way that url.com would be able to get the IP from the server that did the redirect? It looks like $_SERVER["REMOTE_ADDR"] returns the clients IP address which isnt what I need. Thanks Hi all, I am having a time with my coding. The codes for the form.php will add to the db if the action is giving as form.php. I am trying to get the page to redirect to the login.php. so I put the header function in. It redirects to the login.php as the header but does not add data to the db. So I tried to put the code login.php in the action for the form but it does not add to the db. Where can I put the redirect so it adds to data to the db and goes to the next page.??????? <?php @include_once ("Connections/connect_to_mysql.php"); $err=''; if($_POST["submit"]){ // Validate form data if($_POST["firstname"]=='') $err.='Please enter First Name<br>'; if($_POST["email"]=='') $err.='Please enter Email<br>'; if($err==''){ // Check if there are duplicate entries in the 'contacts' table $results = mysql_query("SELECT id FROM `Members` WHERE firstname='".addslashes($_POST["firstname"])."' and Email='".addslashes($_POST["email"])."'"); if($row = mysql_fetch_array($results)){ $err.='Can not add duplicate entry<br>'; } else{ // adding new record to 'contacts' table mysql_query("INSERT INTO Members (firstname, lastname, country,Email) values ('".addslashes($_POST["firstname"])."','".addslashes($_POST["lastname"])."','".addslashes($_POST["country"])."','".addslashes($_POST["email"])."')"); // redirecting to success screen if($_POST['id']){ header("Location: login.php"); exit; } } } } ?> <html> <head> <title>Add New Contact</title> </head> <body> <h2>Register with us</h2> <?php echo $err==''?'''<p style="color:red;">'.$err.'</p>') ?> <form method="post" action="form.php"> <table border="0"> <tr> <td valign="middle">First Name:</td> <td><input type="text" name="firstname" size="30" value="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($firstname) ?>"></td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="middle">Last Name:</td> <td><input type="text" name="lastname" size="30" value="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($lastname) ?>"></td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="middle">Country:</td> <td><input type="text" name="country" size="30" value="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($country) ?>"></td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="middle">Email:</td> <td><input type="text" name="email" size="30" value="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($email) ?>"></td> </tr> </table><br> <input type="submit" name="submit" value=" Submit! "> </form> </body> </html> I am using a header redirect after a user makes a post which goes to their post. example they made a post which has an id of 236, then the url redirect would be index.php?forum=1&topic=1&post=236#p236 i have the <a name> set up on each post and it works fine until the post is on a different page. the url should be: index.php?forum=1&topic=1&page=2&post=236#p236 but how would i be able to tell the header redirect which page to go to. I was thinking if statements like: if ($number_of_results >=10) { $page = 2; } but that would involve alot of if statements with no way of knowing how many pages the topic could have. This is my script I use on my HTML page to pass the parameters: Code: [Select] $(document).ready(function() { $('#submit').click(function() { var username = $('input[name=username]'); var password = $('input[name=password]'); var data = 'username=' + username.val() + '&password=' + password.val(); .ajax({ url: "login.php", type: "GET", data: data, cache: false, success: function() { alert("SUCCESS"); } }); return false; }); }); And this is my PHP page: Code: [Select] <?php $username = ($_GET['username']) ? $_GET['username'] : $_POST['username']; $password = ($_GET['password']) ? $_GET['password'] : $_POST['password']; if ($_POST) $post=1; $userFound = false; $memberId = ""; // Create connection string, Note, params are as follow // mysql_connect(databaseLocation, username, password) $con = mysql_connect("localhost","root",""); if (!$con) { die("Could not connect: " . mysql_error()); } mysql_select_db("memberdb", $con); // SQL Query $result = mysql_query("SELECT memberId, firstName, lastName, username, password FROM member"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { if ($username == $row["username"] && $password == $row["password"]) { echo "<h1>Welcome " . $row["firstName"] ." ". $row["lastName"] . "! </h1></br>"; $userFound = true; $memberId = $row["memberId"]; } } // If User is found, continue on to next page, if not redirect to index.html if ($userFound) { echo "<h2>Login Successful</h2>"; echo "<h3>Page will redirect</h3>"; header( "url=menu.html?memberId=" . $memberId); } else { echo "<h2>LOGIN FAILED</h2>"; echo "<h3>Page will redirect</h3>"; header( "refresh: 1; url=index.html#loginPage"); } ?> It does the echo successfully but hangs on the part where is says : Quote header( "url=menu.html?memberId=" . $memberId); How can I get it to redirect? Thanks |
