PHP - Ajax Post Not Being Posted To Php (for Sql Query)
Here there,
This is a post for all of you ajax/php pimps who don't mind helping a beginner. I have been working on a little ajax script to filter a table called "recipes2" in a database called "recipes" using a dropdown menu. Once I get this script to work, I can run queries without having to refresh the page.
The problem, something is not right, the php script does not seem to be getting the posted data. even though the ajax script returns success when i check for it. What am I doing wrong?
Also please note that, if possible, I'd like all the code to stay on one page.
This is the SQL script if you want to create the database and table:

Here is the code, the file should be named 'filterRecipes.php'.

Similar TutorialsI have a status system, built with ajax, and I need to get the unique id that the database assigns to the post and return it in the results that are appended to the page via javascript, however I'm not sure how the bessst way would be to do this? I have been doing this: ///variables that are sent to the database $session = $_COOKIE['id']; $uid = $_POST['id']; $post = $_POST['post']; $date = mktime(); //way I have got the unique id of this post $query = mysql_fetch_assoc(mysql_query("SELECT * FROM posts WHERE from_id='$session' AND to_id='$uid' AND post='$post' AND date='$date'")); $id = $query['id']; Although that does work, It feels like it might not always be accurate. II am new to jscript and AJAX and have a problem that I need to solve.
I have a form on which I need to input the RGB values of a color that will be used in the next PHP file.
I have choosen a color chooser written in jscript called JS-Color.
There are a number of pre-written scripts for choosing the color, of which I have used the following:
<script type="text/javascript" src="jscolor/jscolor.js"></script> R<input id="red" size="5"> G<input id="grn" size="5"> B<input id="blu" size="5"> - - - H<input id="hue" size="5"> S<input id="sat" size="5"> V<input id="val" size="5"> <p> Choose any color: <input class="color" id="myColor" onchange=" document.getElementById('red').value = this.color.rgb[0]*100 + '%'; document.getElementById('grn').value = this.color.rgb[1]*100 + '%'; document.getElementById('blu').value = this.color.rgb[2]*100 + '%'; document.getElementById('hue').value = this.color.hsv[0]* 60 + '°'; document.getElementById('sat').value = this.color.hsv[1]*100 + '%'; document.getElementById('val').value = this.color.hsv[2]*100 + '%';">I am trying to work out how to use this to get the 3 values that I can post in a form. Looking at the internet, I have found that AJAX is the easiest way to POST from jscript. I have attempted to write some script, but I'm sure I'm way off the mark. Here is my attempt: <!--DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> Design by Free CSS Templates http://www.freecsstemplates.org Released for free under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License Name : Yosemite Description: A two-column, fixed-width design with dark color scheme. I use AJAX method to get the value for `$month` from the year-month selection in my page. The year-month is pass correct correctly when it gets into my PHP code. But i am not sure how do i get the value and use it for my sql condition. I'm trying to plot a graph using Chart JS according to the year-month selection from the user. when the user select "2021-03" all the order that is made in the month of March will be plotted into the graph. There's no data shown in my page now and i do not know how can i query it. Can anyone enlighten me how can i do it? Because i do not know what mistake did i made here. Any kind of explanation will be appreciated. Thanks!
This is the code that i use for year-month selection <div class="col-2 my-auto"> <input type="month" id="month" class="form-control" value="<?php echo date('Y-m'); ?>"> </div> <div class="col-2 my-auto"> <button type="button" class="btn btn-info" onclick="loadchart();"> <i class="nc-icon nc-zoom-split"></i> </button> </div> This is the AJAX method <script type="text/javascript"> function loadchart() { $('#spin1').show(); var month= $('#month').val(); var data = { month: month, } $.ajax({ method:"GET", data:data, url:"includes/loadchart.php", success:function(data) { $('#loadchart').html(data); } }); } this is my loadchart.php <?php include '../session.php'; if(isset($_GET['month'])) { $months = $_GET['month']; ?> <?php $days = array(); $gross_sales = array(); $average_sales = array(); $type = CAL_GREGORIAN; $month = date('n'); $year = date('Y'); $day_count = cal_days_in_month($type, $month, $year); for ($i = 1; $i <= $day_count; $i++) { $sql = "SELECT *, SUM(purchase_price) as purchase_price FROM ordered_items WHERE DAY(order_datetime) = '$i' AND MONTH(order_datetime) = MONTH('".$months."') Hi all
we have an ajax query which queries a MySQL database for cities around the world for our hotel search. We are running on a Linux web hosted server.
The problem we are having is when you first visit out site and type in Brisbane or Sydney it takes around 15 seconds maybe to return. After that what ever city you query is lightening fast. I have had a few friends try this and when they first visit our site they experience the same then second time around it is fast.
Could this be some sort of caching issue or setting somewhere that I am missing?
I have attached a file so you can see what I mean
Thanks in advance

After the user registrate himself should appear an alert saying that the registration was OK and a redirect to main.php page... however for some reason if I create an insert statement the alert and the redirect don't appear... If I remove the insert the alert and the redirect works... why? This is part of the code of my 3 files: registration.php (ajax call) $('#submit').click(function() {var username2 = $('#uname2').val(); var password2 = $('#psw2').val(); $.ajax({ url: 'ajax/response.php', type: 'GET', data: {username2 : username2, password2: password2}, success: function(data) { if(data === 'correct') { alert("Username and Password have been created!"); //don' work with the insert location.replace("main.php"); //don' work with the insert } else { alert("Username or password are not correct... please register yourself!"); } } }); }); response.php (answer to ajax call) if(isset($_GET['username2']) && isset($_GET['password2'])) {$username2 = $_GET['username2']; $password2 = $_GET['password2']; if (checkUser($pdo, $username2) === true) { echo 'duplicate'; } else { insertUserPwd($pdo, $username2, $password2); //including this line the redirect and the alert doesn't work... the insert is OK echo 'correct'; } } data_access.php (the function works but doesn't permit alert and redirect to appear) function insertUserPwd(PDO $pdo, $usr, $pwd){ $data = [ 'id' => '', 'user' => $usr, 'password' => $pwd ]; $sql = "INSERT INTO users (id, user, password) VALUES (:id, :user, :password)"; $stmt= $pdo->prepare($sql); $stmt->execute($data); } Can someone help me to fix the code? hi ..

However, if my post data comes from a text box instead of a selection list, my query works fine. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong??? Many thanks! I've been running a self-written php shopping cart for the last 8 years, with lots of success. Recently however, the credit card processor (Linkpoint) I use upgraded their gateway, and now I have a problem.
Basically, the last page of my checkout does a _POST to a specific url for their gateway. I send through a bunch of <input> variables, some of them hidden, but all of them check out okay. I have combed over their specs, made sure I'm not sending any bad characters, made sure I've got the right format for the fields they want, etc...
Right now the transaction is successful, the customer's card is charged, but Linkpoint's system is returning an error message: We are unable to process your request due to invalid data.
Long story short, their support staff has asked me to "send them the xml string" via email. I have no idea how to do this (even after spending a few hours online trying to figure it out).
Is there a simple way to generate the xml string that's being passed during the _POST? Some kind of php code I can incorporate into my final checkout page, run a test transaction, and maybe write the string out somewhere so I can get it to them?
Any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Danny How can I echo the $id? Every time I post approved it refreshes my page and I can see the echoed out ID. I need to know what the ID value is. Code: [Select] if (isset($_POST['approve'])) { if(is_array($_POST['approve'])) { $keys = array_keys($_POST['approve']); $id = $keys[0]; echo $id; die(); //$sql = "UPDATE `blog_comments` SET `approved` = 1 WHERE `post_id` = '$id'"; //header("Location: " . $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] . "?" . $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'] ); } } I need some help displaying the posted values onto a second page. I thought I was doing it right, but nothing is showing up on my second page. I have my form set to PHP_SELF to validate before sending the user to the second page, and it's working just fine. If no errors are present, the user is redirected to the second page, but it's supposed to be displaying their posted data, but it's not. What am I doing wrong? Code: [Select] <?php /*$name = ""; $address = ""; $city = ""; $state = ""; $zip = ""; $phone = ""; $position = ""; $display_errors = "";*/ if (@$_POST['submitted']){ $name = (@$_POST['name']); $address = (@$_POST['address']); $city = (@$_POST['city']); $state = (@$_POST['state']); $zip = (@$_POST['zip']); $phone = (@$_POST['phone']); $position = (@$_POST['position']); if (get_magic_quotes_gpc()){ $name = stripslashes($name); $address = stripslashes($address); $city = stripslashes($city); $state = stripslashes($state); $zip = stripslashes($zip); $phone = stripslashes($phone); $position = stripslashes($position); } $error_msg=array(); if ($name==""){ $error_msg[]="Please enter your name"; } if ($address==""){ $error_msg[]="Please enter your address"; } if ($city==""){ $error_msg[]="Please enter your city"; } if ($state==""){ $error_msg[]="Please enter your state"; } if ($zip==""){ $error_msg[]="Please enter your zip code"; } if ($phone==""){ $error_msg[]="Please enter your phone number"; } if ($position==""){ $error_msg[]="Please enter your desired position"; } if ($error_msg){ $display_errors = "<ul style=color:red>\n"; foreach ($error_msg as $err){ $display_errors .= "<li>".$err."</li>\n"; } $display_errors .= "</ul>\n"; } if (!$error_msg){ //echo $name .
