Similar TutorialsI am trying to create some navigation link with sublinks in a <ul> list. Here is the set up. Table = categories fields: id cattitle = title parentid = level of the link (0 = top level) cat_loc = the id value of the link that this link will be sublink of example: 1st link: id 1, title - home, parentid - 0, cat_loc - null; 2nd link: id - 5, title - info, parentid - 0, cat_loc - null; 3rd link: id - 6, title - test, parentid - 1, cat_loc - 5; so test should be a sublink of info. Here is what I have for code so far... <?php include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . './includes/magicquotes.inc.php'; include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . './includes/db.inc.php'; $result = mysqli_query($link, 'SELECT * From categories order by orderby asc'); if (!$result) { $error = 'Error getting categories: ' . mysqli_error($link); include 'error.php'; exit(); } while ($row = mysqli_fetch_array($result)) { $navlink[] = array('id' => $row['id'], 'cattitle' => $row['cattitle'], 'cat_loc' => $row['cat_loc'], 'parentid' => $row['parentid']); } echo '<ul>'; $count = 0; foreach ($navlink as $nav): { if ($nav['parentid'] == 0) { if ($count!=0){echo " | ";} echo '<li>' . '<a href="home.php?id=' . $nav['id'] . '"' . ' ' . 'title="' . $nav['cattitle'] . '">' . htmlspecialchars($nav['cattitle']) . '</a>'; $count++; } if ($nav['parentid'] != 0) { $result2 = mysqli_query($link, 'Select * From categories where "$nav[cat_loc]" = "$nav[id]"'); if (!$result2) { $error = 'Error getting categories: ' . mysqli_error($link); include 'error.php'; exit(); } echo '<ul>'; while ($row2 = mysqli_fetch_array($result2)) { $subnavlink[] = array('id' => $row2['id'], 'cattitle' => $row2['cattitle']); } foreach ($subnavlink as $subnav): { echo '<li>' . '<a href="home.php?id=' . $subnav['id'] . '"' . ' ' . 'title="' . $subnav['cattitle'] . '">' . htmlspecialchars($subnav['cattitle']) . '</a></li>'; } endforeach; } } endforeach; echo '</ul>'; yes I do have the php closed further down the page. Part of my problem is that the sublinks won't be in the database right after their parent links so I don't think the way I have my foreach loop set up is right. I know I don't have my <ul>'s and <li>'s closed correctly yet. I just want to get the subnavs to show up, I can fix those later. Any ideas? Howdy, I'm in trouble here. Does someone know how to wrap a url which is in the string with href tag without writing like a few hundred line long code? Example: Befo "This is a url http://www.domain.com and then some text" After: "This is a url <a href="http://www.domain.com">http://www.domain.com</a> and then some text" the string is to be received by a flash application right after. Code: [Select] 30|24|17,5|4|20,15|13|33,15|22|33,9|20|22 Let's say my output is that, Realistically every 3numbers is 1 Ticket they are seperated by a "," (comma) I want to wrap parenthesis around them so the output would look like this Code: [Select] (30|24|17) (5|4|20) (15|13|33) (15|22|33) (9|20|22) Now would I have to use regex.. or not cuz regex is extremely difficult Thanks I have this javascript code that loads in the footer. I only need this javascript to load on a static home page, not on all other pages.
<script type="text/javascript"> var banner = (function(){ $('.banner').unslider({ speed: 1000, // The speed to animate each slide (in milliseconds) delay: 999000, // The delay between slide animations (in milliseconds) complete: function() {}, // A function that gets called after every slide animation keys: false, // Enable keyboard (left, right) arrow shortcuts dots: false, // Display dot navigation fluid: true // Support responsive design. May break non-responsive designs }); $( '#nav li:has(ul)' ).doubleTapToGo(); }); </script> <script> jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery('.nav-toggle').click(function(){ //get collapse content selector var collapse_content_selector = jQuery(this).attr('href'); //make the collapse content to be shown or hide var toggle_switch = jQuery(this); jQuery(collapse_content_selector).toggle(function(){ if(jQuery(this).css('display')=='none'){ toggle_switch.html('View All Services');//change the button label to be 'Show' }else{ toggle_switch.html('Hide Services List');//change the button label to be 'Hide' } }); }); }); </script> <script> jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery('.navtop-toggle').click(function(){ //get collapse content selector var collapse_content_selector = jQuery(this).attr('href'); //make the collapse content to be shown or hide var toggle_switch = jQuery(this); jQuery(collapse_content_selector).toggle(function(){ if(jQuery(this).css('display')=='none'){ toggle_switch.html('Menu');//change the button label to be 'Show' }else{ toggle_switch.html('Hide Menu');//change the button label to be 'Hide' } }); }); }); </script>So far I have this php statement, but I'm having trouble wrapping it in this php code. <?php if ($page=="home") echo " "; ?>I'm not sure if putting the whole javascript code above is a good idea in the echo quotes. Is there an easier or better way of wrapping javascript in PHP? Your help appreciated. Hello all 1st post here I red in an older post how to add <br /> using the wordwrap() function , ok i used it it worked , but not as i was expecting and here is the point i need your help. I have a table which i pull some strings from the database.Horizontal space is limited to i wanted arround 70 charecters per line. The problem i have is because i used the above function the text ofcourse always keeps 70 characters and makes the text formation not to look so appealing..here is what i mean as an example Pros: bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla This is how the output is looks like in the page. I would like something like this : Pros: bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla blabla blabla bla bla bla bla bla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla bla bla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla blabla bla If there is a way to tell php : hey make the 1st line to have 70 characters and all the rest to have 90. Is a visual problem in other words. The code is this Pros: <?php echo wordwrap(($row_site_list['pros']),70,"<br />",true)?><br /> Any ideas, pointers? Thanks I need to wrab <b> tags around the current Letter (If they clicked on it) Code: [Select] $letters = range('A', 'Z'); $menu=(empty($menu))?'':$menu; $menu.='<center><div class=pages>Starts With: '; foreach ($letters as $letter) { $menu .= '<a href="?a=(^_-)&muffin='. $letter .'">'. $letter .'</a>'." • "; } $menu.= '</div></center>'; if ( isset( $_GET['muffin'] ) AND in_array($_GET['muffin'], $letters ) ){ // CONNECT TO DATABASE AND QUERY $q_extra .= " AND m.name LIKE '".mysql_escape_string($_GET['muffin'])."%'"; // DO QUERY AND CHURN OUT RESULTS } I tried Code: [Select] if ($_GET['muffin'] == $letter){ $boldtag1 = '<b>'; $boldtag2= '</b>'; } I tried that inside my foreach and it's not working, it shows the bold stuff all over, not around the current selection ? Anyone can chime on this one for me? ty Current selection I mean around the '.$letter.' so it looks nice and bolded if clicked on got this function in php.net i guess function mywordwrap($string) { $length = strlen($string); for ($i=0; $i<=$length; $i=$i+1) { $char = substr($string, $i, 1); if ($char == "<") $skip=1; elseif ($char == ">") $skip=0; elseif ($char == " ") $wrap=0; if ($skip==0) $wrap=$wrap+1; $returnvar = $returnvar . $char; if ($wrap>8) // alter this number to set the maximum word length { $returnvar = $returnvar . "<wbr>"; $wrap=0; } } return $returnvar; } after using this when i try to validate my page in http://validator.w3.org i get this error Line 124, Column 38: end tag for "wbr" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified <td width="15%">sdfasdfsdfadfddfdfsafasd<wbr>a</td> ✉ You may have neglected to close an element, or perhaps you meant to "self-close" an element, that is, ending it with "/>" instead of ">". what is the fix for this? I have made a classified website. it works and I am proud of it. But as far as securing it goes, I have done almost nothing and I am sure, if in case the site becomes popular, it would be compromised with ease. So I have started reading a book ' essential php security' and am reading several articles on php security online , but am still unable to wrap my head around the whole security issue. Can someone help me ? there are a lot of unfamiliar topics, filtering, escaping , validating, session hijacking etc etc and it all goes over my head. Its a classified website , considering this on what should I concentrate on as far as security goes ? btw what I have managed to do is use mysql_real_escape_string on every var going into a mysql $query. Thanks This topic has been moved to PHP Applications. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=318539.0 This topic has been moved to HTML Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=327763.0 hello, im trying to see if there is a function that can get the value of the last row in mysql and see what is in field initial (this is letters A-Z) and make it one letter higher. then, when it reaches letter Z, wrap around to A again. Hello all , here is another problem of my project. I need to create a textarea , drop down list and submit button . At first , I can type whatever I want in the textarea , but for certain part I can just choose the word I want from drop down list and click submit , then the word will appear in the textarea as my next word . But I have no idea how to make this works , is there any simple example for this function ? Thanks for any help provided . Hi i have this edit form that allows user to mofy data but the problems on the text box is that it deletes the rest of the data after the space from the first word i tried to increase the size of the varChars on mysql but did no work why it happens how can i stop from happening?? this the form input <input type="text" name="name" id="name" class='text_box' value="<?php echo $_GET['name'];?>"/> I'd like to use a text editor like this one: http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/examples/full.php for my forums. But I am not sure exactly how I would prevent abuse and injects to messed up the page, rather than being contained in the designated area it is meant for. Could some one please help me, I know htmlspecailchars will not work, since some of the code needs to render as html I currently am working on a project where I code a "simple" telephone directory. There are three main tasks that it needs to do: 1. Directory.php(index page) has a "First Name" and "Last Name" field and a search button. When a name is searched from the directory.txt file, it displays First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State, Zip and phone in findinfo.php in designated text boxes...first name, last name, etc. 2. From the findinfo.php, like previously stated, the users information is listed in the appropriate text boxes. From there, there is an update button that will overwrite the user's information to directory.txt if that button is selected. It will then say the write was sucessful. 3. (completed this step) From the index page, there is a link that will take you to addnew.php where you enter First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State, Zip and phone in a web form and write it to directory.txt. This is the php code for the third step: <?php $newentryfile = fopen("directory.txt", "a+"); $firstname = $_POST['fname']; $lastname = $_POST['lname']; $address = $_POST['address']; $city = $_POST['city']; $state = $_POST['state']; $zip = $_POST['zip']; $phone = $_POST['phone']; $newentry = "$firstname $lastname\n\r $address\n\r $city, $state $zip\n\r $phone\n\r"; if (flock($newentryfile, LOCK_EX)) { if (fwrite($newentryfile, $newentry) > 0) echo "<p>" . stripslashes($firstname) . " " . stripslashes($lastname) . " has been added to the directory.</p>"; else echo "<p>Registration error!</p>"; flock($newentryfile, LOCK_UN); } else echo "<p>Cannot write to the file. Please try again later</p>"; fclose($newentryfile); if(empty($firstname) || empty($lastname) || empty($address) || empty($city) || empty ($state) || empty($zip) || empty($phone)) { echo "<p>Please go back and fill out all fields.</p>"; } ?> So to sum it all up, what would be my best approach? I am totally stumped and not sure which function to use. Should I work my way from step 1 to step 2? I see it as when I do the search for the name from directory.php, it takes me to findinfo.php, listing the users information in the text boxes. From there, if I needed to, having the user's information already listed I could hit the update button to overwrite the new information to directory.txt. Doing the update when then tell me that the write was successful. I have literally been scouring the internet for hours. What would be the best function to do this? I hope I was clear enough. Please help me out and thank you for your time. Hi there. How do I reflect the text content of the variable $a in this text form: <input type="text" name="artist"> Regards Morris Ok i have been working on this for a day+ now. here is my delema simple .ini text file. when a user makes a change (via html form) it makes the correct adjustments. problem is the newline issue 1. if i put a "\n" at the end (when using fputs) works great, except everytime they edit the file it keeps adding a new line (i.e. 10 edits there are now 10 blank lines!!!!) 2. if i leave off the "\n" it appends the next "fgets" to that lilne making a mess Code: [Select] ##-- Loop thruoght the ORIGINAL file while( ! feof($old)) { ##-- Get a line of text $aline = fgets($old); ##-- We only need to check for "=" if(strpos($aline,"=") > 0 ) { ##-- Write NEW data to tmp file fputs($tmp,$info[$i]." = ".$rslt[$i]."\n"); $i++; } ##-- No Match else { fputs($tmp,$aline."\n"); }//Checking for match }//while eof(old) what in the world is making this such a big deal. i dont remember having this issue in the past I tried opening with w+, and just w on the temp file a typical text line would be some fieldname = some value the scipt cycles through the file ignoring comments that are "#" ps the tmp file will overwrite the origianl once complete all i really want to know is WHY i cant get the newline to work, and what is the suggested fix EDIT: i just tried PHP_EOL and it still appends another newline I’m trying to construct a button that simply writes an "aleph" character into a text area, see below.
My code does not work, can anyone tell me why ? How should I fix it ?
<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <meta charset="UTF-8"> <head> <title>Example</title> <script type="text/javascript"> //JavaScript code goes here function insertAtEnd(text) { var theArea = document.getElementById("thisArea"); theArea.value += '' + text + '';; } </script> </head> <body> <input type="button" id="aleph" name="aleph" value="Write an aleph" onClick="javascript:insertAtEnd(\'<span>א</span>\');return(false)" /> <textarea id="thisArea"> </textarea> </body> </html> Hi, I am writing several scripts and some are used to amend extra information to a text file. However, I added a hyperlink to the text file so that the user can go back to a page where they can add extra information. However, since I have done this every time I amend more text to the text file, the extra text appears below the hyperlink rather than above it, and I was wondering if there was a way around this. My amend code is as follows: Code: [Select] <html> <head> <title>Amend File</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" a href="rcm/stylesheet.css"> </head> <?php if($_POST['append'] !=null) { $filename="C:/xampp/htdocs/rcm/denman2.txt"; $file=fopen($filename, "a"); $msg="<p>Updated Information: " .$_POST['append']. "</p><br>"; fputs ($file, $msg); fclose($file); } ?> <body> <h1>Do you want to append to a document?</h1> Enter Updated Information: <form action="amendfile2.php" method="post"> <input type="text" size="40" name="append"><br><br> <input type="submit" value="Add updated information to report"> </form> <form action="viewfile3.php" method="post"> <input type="submit" size="40" value="View Web Blog"> </form> <form action="loginform.php" method="post"> <input type="submit" value="Click here to go to the Log In Screen"> </form> </body></html> And my text file is as follows: Code: [Select] <h1>Accident Report</h1> <p>First Name: Andrew Last Name: Denman Age: 18 Complete Weeks Since Accident: 2<br> <a href="amendfile2.php">Amend to this file</a> Any help would be appreciated I have parsed a HTML file using DOMDocument.Now I want to wrap the Node with <span> tag so that instead of "<input type=textbox>" it will be "<span><input type=textbox></span>" Thanks in advance CSJakharia |
