PHP - Poll/servey Script Need To Add Ip Check So People Can't Resubmit Vote
Hi, I'm currently using a voting script, but have a problem with people voting more then once, and want to add a way to keep the voting unique and 1 per person via IP check can anybody assist me how to implement it in the following script please?
<?php // the questions and the answers $pool_question="Do you think I should keep Galaxy Universe open?"; $pool_option[1]="Yes"; $pool_option[2]="No"; // If counter files are not available, they will be created // You may remove next lines after the first use of the script if (!file_exists("pool_5483543_1.txt")){ // next two lines will not work if writing permissions are not available // you may create the files bellow manualy with "0" as their unique content file_put_contents ("pool_5483543_1.txt",0); file_put_contents ("pool_5483543_2.txt",0); } // retrieve data saved in files $pool_responses[1]=file_get_contents("pool_5483543_1.txt"); $pool_responses[2]=file_get_contents("pool_5483543_2.txt"); // if user votes, increase corresponding value if ($_POST["5483543"] and $_POST["5483543b"]==""){ if ($_POST["5483543"]==1) {$pool_responses[1]++;file_put_contents("pool_5483543_1.txt",$pool_responses[1]);} if ($_POST["5483543"]==2) {$pool_responses[2]++;file_put_contents("pool_5483543_2.txt",$pool_responses[2]);} } // get percentajes for each answer in the pool // get total number of answers $total_responses=$pool_responses[1]+$pool_responses[2]; if ($total_responses==0){$total_responses=1;} // to avoid errors at start // compute percentajes (with one decimal number) $pool_percentaje[1] = round((100*$pool_responses[1])/$total_responses,1); $pool_percentaje[2] = round((100*$pool_responses[2])/$total_responses,1); // print the form, which includes de answers and the percentajes print "<center>\n"; print "<form method=post action=".$_SERVER["PHP_SELF"].">\n"; print "<b>".$pool_question."</b>\n"; print "<table cellpadding=4>\n<br>"; // answer 1 print "<tr>\n"; print "<td><input type=radio name=5483543 value=1> ".$pool_option[1]."</td>\n"; print "<td bgcolor=DDDDFF>" .$pool_responses[1]." (".$pool_percentaje[1]."%)</td>\n"; print "</tr>\n"; // answer 2 print "<tr>\n"; print "<td><input type=radio name=5483543 value=2> ".$pool_option[2]."</td>\n"; print "<td bgcolor=DDDDFF>" .$pool_responses[2]." (".$pool_percentaje[2]."%)</td>\n"; print "</tr>\n"; print "</table>\n"; // a simple control to avoid one user to vote several times if ($_POST["5483543"]){ print "<input type=hidden name=5483543b value=1>\n"; } print "<input TYPE=submit value=Add my answer>\n"; print "</form>\n"; print "</center>\n"; ?>The reason why I ask for IP check is I wan't to use $_SERVER["HTTP_X_MXIT_USERID_R"];in the place of the Ip since it give a unique name via the platform I want to implement it. I am not a php programmer and i wish you can help me. There is a russian project called Crot Anti-Plagiarism, it is a open source moodle plugin. I started to use it and it is a really nice feature. The problem is that there are quite few people that are developing it and new features are coming once a year... I see a big "hole" in this project (at least for me) : The plugin checks for plagiarism in the file that you submit only once, if a student resubmits the file it doesn't see that and you need to start the plugin's test again for all the files which is time consuming if you have a lot of submitted files to check. I would like to add a function that will check if a file changed his modified date , if yes - mark for checking, if no - skip the checking. I already added a similar function that checks if the name has changed, but it seems harder to check it by uploaded time(modified time). Things i have already done: I added a new column "assignment_submissions_timemodified" in database. I added a new function that records the "time modified" of the file in the database. But i can't add and i cannot make the comparison between the date of the first time the file submitted versus the date of the second time the same file was resubmitted. Alright no more bullsh**t here is the code: (there are 3 comments that shows what i've changed, starting with //my job...) Thanks a lot! Code: [Select] $apath= $CFG->dataroot."/$assignment->course/moddata/assignment/$asubmission->assignment/$asubmission->userid"; $timemodified= filemtime($apath); //my job... it checks the file's modified time. $files = scandir($apath, 1); if (! $unprocessedsubm = get_record("crot_submissions", "submissionid", $asubmission->id, "crot_submission_file_name", $files[0], "assignment_submissions_timemodified", $timemodified)) //my job...now i guess here is the problem ( "assignment_submissions_timemodified", $timemodified) { echo "$timemodified"; echo "$unprocessedsubm"; print_r($unprocessedsubm); echo "\nsubmission $asubmission->id was not processed yet. start processing now ... \n" ; $atime = microtime(); $atime = explode(" ",$atime); $atime = $atime[1] + $atime[0]; $astarttime = $atime; if(!count($files))break; //TODO we should verify if filename changed //TODO add loop on the documents folder as well as loop for unzipping $apath = $apath."/$files[0]"; // call tokenizer to get plain text and store it in crot_submissions $atext = tokenizer ($apath); // update the crot_submissions table // delete if exists delete_records("crot_submissions", "submissionid", $asubmission->id); // insert the new record $record->submissionid=$asubmission->id; $record->updated = time(); $record->crot_submission_file_name = $files[0]; $record->assignment_submissions_timemodified = $timemodified; //this is my job.... it is recording the date as it has to. $submid = insert_record("crot_submissions", $record); // insert into documents $docrecord->crot_submission_id = $submid; Also i have attached the whole file crot_crone.php. While I am not advanced, I've been learning quite a bit on php. However, I am looking to build a tracker type script and hide it into my coding so that if someone were to hack into my website and take my website coding, that it would send me an email notifying that they were using my coding. How would I go about this? If you can help me, i'd be glad to credit you! Thank you! Hello everyone, I'm in the process of creating a PHP script (will be open-source), I just need to know how to make it easy for people to add plugins? Like I don't really know much about the concept of plugins (how they should work), all I know is that there should be a function to activate / deactivate the plugin, but how can I make it possible for people to run their "code" wherever they want? I've heard about "hooks" but I don't really understand how this should work, anyone can explain please? Thank you very much in advance Hi I made a simple chat script with pagination in MySQL (yes I know I should change to MySQLi) but just bare with me please My script is working fine when I post messages, but I have a problem.. Each time I refresh my page my previous message gets reposted again. Is there maybe a way I can fix this problem?

Tutorials online? Thanks a million Hi everyone, I have a like button on repeating regions that is used for keeping a record of votes on comments. People click it an it adds 1 to the votes column total. It works just fine. Problem is i only want to a allow a user one vote per comment only. can vote on other comments as well, but again, only one vote per day per comment. i wouldn't know where to start. Can anyone help e find the function in this mess that creates the vote button and passes the currently loaded data to the next page? Here's the original code: Code: [Select] <?php include("./templates/mysql_connect.php"); //FOR LETTER: A $query = "SELECT * FROM seniors WHERE last_name LIKE 'A%' ORDER BY last_name ASC"; $result = @mysql_query ($query); echo '<table><tr> <td> <p><span class="style19"><u>-A-</u></span><br />'; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array ($result)){ echo "<a href=\"$row[pic_url]\" rel=\"lightbox[seniors]\" title=\" <form action ="/sencha-tallyvote.php?sen_id=$row[sen_id]" method="post"> $row[first_name] $row[last_name] - $row[school] <br /> <input name="submit" align="right" type="submit" value="Vote" > </form> \">$row[last_name], $row[first_name]</a><br/>"; } echo '</p>'; ?> The original code used a lightbox feature with an added voting button tagged on near the bottom. We've Xed the lightbox feature and are trying to deconstruct it into tangible PHP pages. We have everything done except for the coding for the vote button. Here's our coding for the currently deconstructed page, and where the coding for the button needs to go: Code: [Select] <?php require_once('templates/mysql_connect.php'); ?> <?php $query = "SELECT * FROM seniors WHERE sen_id=$_GET[sen_id]"; $result = mysql_query ($query); $row = mysql_fetch_array ($result); ?> <div class="contents"> <h1><?php echo $row['first_name'], " ", $row['last_name']; ?></h1> <h4><?php echo $row['school']; ?></h4> </div> <?php echo '<a href="sencha.php" class="bigmenu"><img src="images/backarrow.png" alt="Back to Senior Challenge Home" class="arrowleft indexicon" /><u>Back</u></a><br />'; ?> <?php echo "<img src=\"http://www.rutholsonphoto.com" .$row['pic_url']. Originally when a voter came and voted, the script in the background would run file() but I noticed that it sometimes lagged and caused the voter to wait a few secs before the page loads. I was then told by a developer to use file_get_contents(), but I was getting the same results. It occasionally lagged, even on my own websites that are voting on it. I decided to log the incentives now, and get a cron to check and process any incentives instead of the user lagging, but now it's starting to kill my server as you can see below Quote xxxxx.com 1.05 0.49 0.1 Top Process %CPU 77.2 php -q process_incentives.php Top Process %CPU 24.0 php -q process_incentives.php Top Process %CPU 8.0 php -q timers/5mins.php xxxxx.com 0.99 0.13 0.0 Top Process %CPU 9.0 php -q timers/30mins.php Top Process %CPU 7.0 php -q timers/5mins.php Code in process_incentives.php //REWARD VOTERS $get = mysql_query("SELECT id,url FROM incentives ORDER BY id DESC limit 50;"); while ($game = mysql_fetch_array($get)){ file_get_contents("$game[url]"); mysql_query("DELETE from incentives WHERE id='$game[id]'"); } Hey. I just needed a little help with a voting system for articles I've put together in PHP. Essentially what happens is someone clicks the "Vote up" button which takes them to the "voteup.php" page. This is the "voteup.php" page where it updates the database for that given article and increments the "votes" column by one. This works perfectly. But the problem is people can do this infinite times and give articles infinite votes. I need it so that each IP address can only vote on each specific article once. Any ideas on how this could be done? Code: [Select] if( isset($_FILES['image'] ) ) { //Class includes include("../scrips/php/cms/database.insert.class.php"); include ("../scrips/php/cms/img.upload.resize.crop.class.php.php"); //----------|Start: upload, resize & save $your_image = new _image; //----------| Upload orginal image $your_image->uploadTo = 'uploads/'; $upload = $your_image->upload($_FILES['image']); //----------| Resize and upload small thumbnail $your_image->newPath = 'thums/'; $your_image->newWidth = 50; $your_image->newHeight = 50; $resized = $your_image->resize(); //----------| Resize and upload medium thumbnail $your_image->newPath = 'thums2/'; $your_image->newWidth = 100; $your_image->newHeight = 100; $resized = $your_image->resize(); //----------| Getting the image name to insert into the database futher on in the code $name = $resized; $img_str = explode("/",$name); $final_img_name = $img_str['1']; echo "Article has been added!"; //----------------|end //----------------| Start database insert (class manipulation) $table = "blog_posts"; $title = "'".$_POST['ArticleTitle']."',"; $img = "'".$final_img_name."',"; $post = "'".$_POST['ArticleBody']."',"; $aurthor_id = "'1',"; $category_id = "'".$_POST['Category']."',"; $date_posted = "NOW()"; $values = array("$title","$img","$post","$aurthor_id","$category_id","$date_posted"); $fields = array('title,','img,','post,','aurthor_id,','category_id,','date_posted'); $obj= new DatabaseInsert; $obj->DatabaseConnectionRequire(); $obj->ArticleInsert($values,$fields,$table); //----------------|end } As you can see it's fairly basic. What i want to do is before it runs this script and starts including/invoking the class etc, i want to be able to check to see if there is a value been posted from a FILE FORM OBJECT and if there is to proceed with this script, alternatively i want it to execute another code which will handle it in regards to the concept of my page. A simple javascript alert with be ok providing it reloaded the page to it's default state. If any one can help me here i would appreciate it a lot. Thanks I've been looking for a simple script that would connect to a game server to see if it is still online. I've found many, but not one of them work. They will permanently send back the text "Online", or "Offline". This is the simplest code I have found: <?php $ip = "66.79.190.40"; $port = "27960"; if (! $sock = @fsockopen($ip, $port, $num, $error, 5)) echo '<B><FONT COLOR=red>Offline</b></FONT>'; else{ echo '<B><FONT COLOR=lime>Online</b></FONT>'; fclose($sock); } ?> I'm also looking into getting it to pull the map name and player-list, but I should be able to figure that out on my own once I get this working. If it helps, this script is supposed to connect to the original Quake games(One, two, and three). |
