PHP - Help Me Understand The Non-object Error Message
Hi,
This code works (and correctly shows just one result in my view);
$people = DB::table('people')->where('id', '=', $person_id)->get();
But this one doesn't;
$people = DB::table('people')->where('id', $person_id)->first();
And produces the error;
Trying to get property of non-object (View: /media/sf_sandbox/health/app/views/agreement/display.blade.php)The `people` table just has a few fields of information on the individual with a primary key called `id`. I followed the Laravel guide on select statements. I don't understand what the error is trying to tell me and I don't get why that second statement is wrong. What's so wrong about it? I just want to understand Laravel/Objects better.... Everything seems to work fine when/if I use the following SQL query (which can also be seen commented out in my code towards the end of this post) :

We sending the code and the object contains the error/success message to show!!!
This seems to almost works. It is part of Jquery Validations, once the field or submit button is clicked. It looks for error on field. then Enter the Ajax Funciton which is to parse the error code and the out put the error message which is coming from json object.

For example, the login page does this: * gather data * send $_POST data to process.inc.php * process.inc.php handles the object implementation, and sends you to the dashboard if your login is successful and returns you to the login page if the login attempt is unsuccessful However, on the last one, if I have to send the user back to the page because of a failed attempt, i'd like to display an error message, but I'm not clear on the best way of doing this considering the request isn't handled by PHP_SELF.
