PHP - Creating Queries From A Form Dynamically
I was thinking of adding queries using a basic HTML form. To be able to do that I was thinking of having a Query sql table which has all the main create, insert, remove, update, delete and select general syntax into it. The idea is to be able to choose a query based on a HTML select option and add the values to a field, any idea how can you do that dynamically?

The following code does not work ... doesn't give me an error, just doesn't create the zip file: // create object $zip = new ZipArchive(); $thisTime = time(); // open archive $thisZip = './download/'.$thisTime.'_download.zip'; $thisZip_b = $thisTime.'_download.zip'; if ($zip->open($thisZip, ZIPARCHIVE::CREATE) !== TRUE) { die ("Could not open archive"); } thanks in advance oh wise ones. mrsburnside What I want to do is create a table out of records from a table that shows an image and a radio button under the image (so I would imagine it would be in 2 rows). I want it to have 3 columns across. Here's what I have to get and output the results: $fabricsql = "SELECT * FROM Fabric f, Images i WHERE f.SKU = i.SKU"; //echo $fabricsql; $fabricResult = mysql_query($fabricsql); $i=0; while($fabricAssoc = mysql_fetch_assoc($fabricResult)){ //echo $fabricAssoc['SKU']. "+ ".$fabricAssoc['Name']; echo "<a href=\"\"><img src='../../".$fabricAssoc['ThumbPath']."' alt='".$fabricAssoc['Description']."' width='".$fabricAssoc['ThumbWidth']."' /></a><br /> <input type=\"radio\" name=\"fabricSelect\" value='".$fabricAssoc['SKU']."' id=\"RadioGroup1_".$i."\" /><br /><br />"; $i++; } Any help is much appreciated. I'm not even sure this is the best way to go about this so any suggestions are appreciated. I'm looking for any guidance on how to dynamically create css files. I want users to be able to select colors for fonts/backgrounds, borders, etc. from a form which they will submit and it will create a css file and put it in a certain folder. Can someone point me in the right direction? I have not created any code for this as I dont know where to start, or what its even called. I am on about trying to create a page dynamically depending on the id which is selected. Parts of the URL will change depending on what id is selected for example: 'http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=h. i am wanting to create a video website, where when the thumbnail of a video is clicked, a new page is loaded with that more details of the video and the video itself, and im guessing the url would change to identify the id of the video. I cannot create a page for every video by hand, as i will have many videos and this is not very efficient. I am just after the name of this technique or a pointer to a tutorial for how to achieve this. Thanks, Matlab I am trying to use Google's map API to dynamically create new maps. For example, I would like to be able to make a replica of this page using PHP. I just don't see where in the API it allows you to add all this information, such as adding categories, details, pictures, videos, etc. I've been researching for quite a while, and can't seem to come up with something that is similar to what I'm trying to do. Here is a link I found that shows you how to create maps, but I still don't see how to add all the information that you could if you did it manually! http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/mapsdata/developers_guide_protocol.html#CreatingMaps It would be great if someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks! Hi all, Hope to find you all good. I have the following, which creates a php file. This works fine and without error. Hi there, I am just wondering which way is the correct one if you want to create object properties/attribute dynamically at run time using magic method __set(), __get(), for example: class Foo{ public $data = array(); public function __set($name,$value){ $this->data[$name] = $value; } public function __get($name){ if ( isset($this->data[$name]) ){ return $this->data[$name]; } } } Or using the below way class Foo{ public function assign(array $data){ foreach($data as $key => $value){ $this->$key = $value; } } } I just encountered the second way in many places and I am totally confused . Is the __set() method called implicitly by the PHP engine in the second way or what? how come this is considered as a valid code ? your usual help is appreciated Greetings! I'm new in phpmysql. Am making signup form with three users (Admin, office and student), that when student is selected there will be another form that need to fill up and the data is saved in different table. Below are my codes when the data of admin and office are submitted. Hi im new to php and I need help making webpage that queries a mysql database based on a 3 check boxes and displays results on the same page or on another page. The table being queried has 4 columns, name, gps, wifi, bluetooth. So for example a row in the table would be like, samsung galaxy s2, yes, yes, yes. The idea is for it to be a website that will display phones according to their features. So the idea is depending on if the boxes were ticked the samsung galaxy would be displayed as a result. So i need some help understanding how to make this. Some1 gave me the code below in attempt to help me (im not sure it works or not) but im not sure how fully use it, ie what pages i need to make and how i create the connection to the mysql database, and how to use the query that they wrote to display the results thanks code: Code: [Select] <form action="?do=filter" method="post"> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="3" border="1"> <tr> <td>GPS<input type="checkbox" name="gps" value="checked"></td> <td>Wifi<input type="checkbox" name="wifi" value="checked"></td> <td>Bluetooth<input type="checkbox" name="bluetooth" value="checked"></td> </tr> <tr><td><input type='submit' name='filter' value='Filter'></td></tr> </table> </form> </html> <?php function filterMe($filter){ if(isset($_POST[$filter])){ return "Yes"; }else{ return "No"; } } if(isset($_POST['filter'])){ echo "Gps - " . filterMe('gps'); echo " Wifi - " . filterMe('wifi'); echo " Bluetooth - " . filterMe('bluetooth'); } ?> All you need to do is use a query something like SELECT name,gps,wifi,bluetooth FROM `product` WHERE `gps`='".filterMe('gps')."' AND `wifi`='".filterMe('wifi')."' AND `bluetooth`='".filterMe('bluetooth')."' Hello
I'm using a small script (that I found online) to dynamically add fields to an order form.
It works well with normal text fields but I would like to use it with a select box fields (as it draws data from MySQL).
My problem is, that when the field is 'cloned' it contains the product id and not the product name - which is what the user needs to see.
<?php echo '<form method="post" name="orderform">'; // lots of form fields... echo '<div id="itemRows">'; echo 'Item quantity: <input type="text" name="add_qty" size="4" />'; $prod = "SELECT prod_id, product FROM products ORDER BY product ASC"; $prodRes = $mysqli->query($prod); echo 'Item name : <select name="add_name">'; while ($p = $prodRes->fetch_assoc()) { echo'<option value="'.$p['prod_id'].'">'.$p['product'].'</option>'; } echo '</select>'; echo '<input onclick="addRow(this.form);" type="button" value="Add row" /> (Won't be saved until you click on "Add row")'; if(isset($product['qty']) && isset($product['name'])) { ?> <p id="oldRow<?=$product['id']?>"> Item quantity: <input type="text" name="qty<?=$product['id']?>" size="4" value="<?=$product['qty']?>" /> Item name: <input type="text" name="name<?=$product['id']?>" value="<?=$product['add_name']?>" /> <input type="checkbox" name="delete_ids[]" value="<?=$product['id']?>"> Mark to delete </p> </div> <?php } ?> </div> <input type="submit" value="Submit new order" name="addOrder"> </fieldset> </div> </form> <script type="text/javascript"> var rowNum = 0; function addRow(frm) { rowNum ++; var row = '<p id="rowNum'+rowNum+'">Item quantity: <input type="text" name="qty[]" size="4" value="'+frm.add_qty.value+'"> Item name: <input type="text" name="name[]" value="'+frm.add_name.value+'"> <input type="button" value="Remove" onclick="removeRow('+rowNum+');"></p>'; jQuery('#itemRows').append(row); frm.add_qty.value = ''; frm.add_name.value = ''; } function removeRow(rnum) { jQuery('#rowNum'+rnum).remove(); } </script>I know I could use the $p['product'] value in the select box field, but when it is submiitted - it loses its $p['prod_id'] value which I need to input back into the MySQL database. I did try echo'<option value="'.$p['prod_id'].':'.$p['product'].'">'.$p['product'].'</option>';and then explode... foreach($_POST['name'] as $key => $value) { $items[] = current(explode(":", $value)); }...but clearly, that is a dreradful solution and looks awful to the user. Any thoughts, please? Thank you. Edited by tHud, 14 July 2014 - 09:31 AM. Hi all I have a form with a few textareas and a bunch of input fields. The input fields are dynamically created from querying a country table. $query = $DB->query("SELECT country_code, country_id, IF(country_code = '".$country_code."', '', '') AS sel FROM countries WHERE site = 'test' ORDER BY country_name ASC"); foreach ($query->result as $row) { $options .= '<label>' . 'Phrase for ' . $this->settings['countries'][$row['country_code']] . '</label>' . '<br />'; $options .= '<input style="width: 100%; height: 5%;" id="country_data" type="text" name="' . $row['country_id'] . '" />' . '<br /><br />'; $options .= '<input type="hidden" name="country_id" id="country_id" value="' . $row['country_id'] . '" />'; } This is fine and outputs all the input fields I need. The problem comes when I need to get the value of each field input field and pass it into a query. The 'value' field of the inputs are numbers, such as 68, 70, 124, 108 etc so I can't get them in a for loop etc What's the easiest way to get all of these input field values? Can I use $_POST? I have 10 tables in my database. I want load these 10 table names into a drop-down list. If a user selects a value form the drop-down list, a form should be displayed with related to the table. (form fields should be appropriate table's column headers) When user fill the form and submitted, data should be saved in the selected table. Give me a code example to do this. this is what im looking to incorporate on my site

can someone help me get something like this up and running? or recommend a form i could download and edit....

Thank you so much for the help. Hello guys,
I was just wondering what I was doing wrong here, I've 'created' a website form in PHP but when I click my submit button it doesn't seem to fetch:
php.php?s=1
or
php.php?s=2
which is then used to print either Success or Failure.

Thanks. Edited by Coplestone, 17 January 2015 - 10:14 PM. It's about making a form for a web page. Which is better? Using table or divs? Which do you use? <form action='a.php' method='post'> <table> ............. </table> </form> <form action='a.php' method='post'> <div> ............. </div> </form> I'm very new to php, and so I haven't really mastered all the coding. But what I want to do is make a search form, which will search 15 different columns in a MySQL database. I've gone to a few different online walkthroughs, but I haven't managed to succeed as of yet. Can someone please show me the HTML and PHP coding required in order to make a search setup (the server is "localhost", the username is "root", the password is [blank], the database is "anzac war trophys" and the table is "anzac". And also assume that the collumns are called "a", "b", "c" and so on. Any help greatly appreciated! Currently what I'm trying to do is to create a blogging software through PHP (for myself) and when trying to change the amount of posts viewable on the edit/delete page, the form, which auto-submits if JavaScript is enabled, should deliver the following result:
"/?page=EditPost&limit=6"
This is obviously depending on what value is chosen, it can be anywhere from 5 to 10. But what it is actually returning is "?limit=6".
This is the PHP script for the function:
public function EchoLimitSelector() { $limit = isset($_GET['limit']) ? $_GET['limit'] : NULL; echo "<div class='tright'>"; echo "<form action='?page=EditPost&limit=".$limit."' method='GET'>"; echo "<span>Posts per page: </span>"; echo "<select name='limit' style='font-size: 16px; width: 50px;' onchange='this.form.submit();'>"; for($x = 5; $x <= 10; $x++) { echo "<option value=".$x. " "; //Setting default selected value if($limit) { if($limit == $x) { echo "selected"; } } else { if($x == 5) { echo "selected"; } } echo ">".$x."</option>"; } echo "</select>"; echo "<noscript><input type='submit' value='Go' style='height: 26px; padding: 0; margin-top: -7px;'/></noscript>"; echo "</form>"; echo "</div>"; }I'm hoping that it's just a simple fix. Thanks. Hey guys i've been trying to find out how to create and and write in a file, so that you can for example add a nav button to your website by form (you know like a admin panel). It tried some things but it doesnt work cause it wont write to the file... here is the code i've used: $ourFileName = $_POST['sitename']; $ourFileHandle = fopen($ourFileName, 'w') or die("can't open file"); fclose($ourFileHandle); $myFile = $_POST['sitename']; $fh = fopen($myFile, 'w') or die("can't open file"); $stringData = "test\n"; fwrite($fh, $stringData); $stringData = "test\n"; fwrite($fh, $stringData); fclose($fh); the "sitename" is the id from the form where you choose what the menu tab should be called. I would really glad if you could help me out with this one thanks! MinG |
