PHP - Whats The Best Way Of Managing Website Contact Information
Hello,
Im designing a website and have a contact form, what is the best way of managing that and monitor it as just getting that contact form information sent to an email address they may end up having more and more people sending information will get all messy and will surely cause havoc. The only way at the moment i can think of is to store the first piece of information in a database table then store the reply's in a separate table but linked to the original first question by the id.
What do you guys things?
Similar TutorialsHey all!. I was wondering if there was a way to process information from major websites using php? It seems I am running into issues. Here is what I am trying to do: I need to pull the full list of companies from pinksheets.com that are listed on the exchanges. I can download the list via XLS format, but I need to do this for all the exchange websites such as nasdaq etc. Is there a way to do this where I can comb for the information such as CEO name, ticker , company name and any companies that get taken off or added to the list? The lists I am already talking about are on the sites I mentioned and you can look them up but I am adding 40,000+ companies to my site it manually entering them would be a huge issue,. Do any of you have any fixes? Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Thanks!. Smash. Is There a script which can be used that will grab constantly updated information from a certain website, and output it onto your own website? By constantly, I mean like: 23 Hours, 13 Minutes and 3 seconds ago. Surely this can be done some how? Thanks Could I use: $page_contents = file_get_contents("http://www.example.com"); if i wanted to look for
time:
$matches = array(); preg_match('CODE TO LOOK FOR HERE?', $page_contents, $matches); echo $matches[0]; This topic has been moved to Third Party PHP Scripts. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=306808.0 Hi Chaps, I have a PHP app that allows users to login and view contents of an FTP folder (that is unique to their login). They can upload and download files but some users are having problems. As some of the files can be quite large, the app seems to be a bit tempremental when uploading files. Also, when downloading very large files, sometimes in excess of 200-300 Mb, the script seems to timeout. The script reads the file to be downloaded, then loads it to the header, to force open/download. But again, this is very tempremental and there's nothing much to go on in terms or trouble-shooting. Everytime I test it, it seems to work, but users are having trouble. I have checked the Windows IIS 7/PHP file settings, and all are OK. So my questions a 1. what is the best way to handle very large file uploads? 2. what is the best way to force open/download of large files, without PHP having to 'read' the file first? Any help or guidence would be most appreciated. Cheers Hi
As a beginner after much work i managed to display the results of a call to an access database as a list and have quite happy managed to get them to display as a list in a table. Below is the code i have used to do this.
while($row = odbc_fetch_array($UserProdResults)) { echo $row['ProductionName'] . "
"; }What i would like to be able to do is to populate each cell of a table which is 3 columns wide with the results eg: I have a table for collecting airline satisfaction survey results(see attached image). I run a query to select the staff field there are 25 rows in this column I run a switch case block to filter out a result set that includes the responses 'poor', 'fair', 'good', and 'excellent' the result set should contain 20 elements Code: [Select] function score_staff() { $staff_count = 0; $result_set_cnt = 0; $query = "SELECT staff FROM flight_survey"; $result = mysql_query($query); while ($get_info = mysql_fetch_row($result)){ foreach ($get_info as $field){ switch($field) { case "poor": $staff_count++; $result_set_cnt++; $exit; case "fair": $staff_count+=2; $result_set_cnt++; $exit; case "good": $staff_count+=3; $result_set_cnt++; $exit; case "excellent": $staff_count+=4; $result_set_cnt++; $exit; drfault: // do nothing } } } echo $staff_count."
"; echo $result_set_cnt."
"; } For each match I add 1 to the result set so with 20 matches $result_set_cnt should be 20 and not 53 as shown at the bottom of the attached image. The array $get_info bewilders me and I can't seem to access it's elements without putting it in a while loop. Anyway I'm pretty new to php and have a lot to learn. If anyone can explain how I could change the code so that the result set would contain 20 I think I'll be alright. thanks So im using textwrangler and usually when you click on the '{' or '}' it will highlight everything inbetween them, well on the top one on line 7 it does not, and i tried messing around with it to try to get it to work cause i keep getting an error on line 8 that says "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/truckste/public_html/create_topic_parse.php on line 8" Code: [Select] <?php if($username){ header("Location: index.php"); exit(); } if(isset($_POST['topic_submit'])){ if (($_POST['topic_title'] == "" && ($_POST['topic_content'] == "")){ echo "You Did Not Fill In Both Fields. Please Return To The Previous Page."; exit(); } else{ requre('scripts/connect.php'); $cid = $_POST['cid']; $title = $_POST['topic_title']; $content= $_POST['topic_content']; $creator = $_POST['uid']; $sql = "INSERT INTO topics (category_id, topic_title, topic_creator, topic_date, topic_reply_date) VALUES ('".$cid."', '".$title."', '".$creator."', now(), now())"; $res = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); $new_topic_id = mysql_insert_id(); $sql2 = "INSERT INTO posts (category_id, topics_id, post_creator, post_content, post_date) VALUES ('".$cid."', '".$new_topic_id."', '".$creator."', '".$content."', now())"; $res2 = mysql_query($sql2) or die(mysql_error()); $sql3 = "UPDATE categories SET last_post_date=now(), last_user_posted'".$creator."', WHERE id='".$cid."' Please Try Again."; } } ?> Hi Friends,
I wanted to know what is new in PHP version 5.6.0. How is it different from its previous versions? How will benefit the security of PHP websites?
Thanks in advance.
